Firefly Is Great

Really one of Houston's Italian restaurant gems. Nothing Michelin star worthy but some delicious dishes, attentive staff, and quiet environment. Pro tip: get the clams Tuscano. You won't regret it. Hopefully. Prices are decent and some other big name restaurants could easily charge you 50% more for the same thing.

I don't like Cesar salads, and Auntie Pestos changed my opinion, life and mind about Cesar Salads. How come no1 told me they are so gooood. I need another. The ravioli was delicious, as well. Staff was so friendly. The shared dress man was cool and looked like he owned the place, kudos. Thanks.

Support Local.❤️ Love Local. ❤️ Eat Local. ❤️. Ladybug greeted us at the door. Friendly staff, delicious pasta and salad. Generous portions on both the pastas and the side salads. Pasta served with crushed tomato, fresh basil and garlic and just a splash of olive oil. Side house salad. Easy access getting into restaurant, handicap ramp. Please support family owned businesses.

The service is excellent and the food is so delicious! I love how friendly and welcoming atmosphere this has. Their flowers are real on the table, and the waiters are so professional and helpful. Enrique was AMAZING at our table. Definitely recommend to come here. We are so glad to have stopped here for a friend’s birthday because they make you feel so special!

WOOHOO!!! So incredibly and amazingly delicious!!!! Had the smoked salmon Caesar salad - BEST I'VE EVER HAD!!! My dining companion had the sausage and pepper sandwich, which was equally amazing.... the chicken poblano soup, also off the charts and to top it off, their Jack Daniel's chocolate mousse pie - loosen your belt!!!! WARNING - come hungry and still be prepared for leftovers!!! Oh, and the service is perfectly the right level (not too much, and just enough). Our server was Connor, which is not only great (he's very handsome, as well 😉!!), the manager, Joel, is so engaged with every guest that enters and checks on you to ensure satisfaction!!! PHENOMENAL overall experience..... 👏👏👏

Delicious food, generous portions, safety friendly, family friendly, exceptional hospitality. You will be blown away with the freshly baked warm bread served as soon as you take a seat. Kids are given a child menu with art crayons to keep them busy. Grown ups indulge in aromatic and beautiful meal. Surrounded by friendliest staff. Highly recommend.

Came here from TikTok as well & the food is very homey & tasty! Me & hubbs will be coming back. Only complaint is the presentation & wait time. Server Tara (I think that’s her name; it’s on the receipt) was amazing! It was the kitchen that was taking long I’m assuming. We got the spinach artichoke dip, Signature pasta, and crawfish ravioli, and a white bean soup.

The service was amazing. Our server was attentive but not intrusive, friendly and did his job well. There were 4 of us and the other 3 seemed to enjoy their orders. I had pasta Alfredo and it was just average - not bad, but not wonderful. It was a bit of a dry "gloppy" pasta. Not like the Rome, Italy version, and not like the American creamy loose alfredo.

Seven years ago we ate at an Auntie Pasto's in Pearland and enjoyed it. We gave this Bellaire location a try. My wife had the Ravioli with meat sauce and liked it, I tried one and concurred. I enjoyed the Lasagna with meat sauce and a hot cappuccino.

Where is the Basil, Garlic etc... This restaurant holds a special place for me—it’s where I had my first date with my wife at their original Bellaire location. I tried visiting when they first moved to this new spot, but it was too chaotic at the time. Hoping to recapture some of that old magic, I decided to give it another try recently. Unfortunately, almost every dish fell short of my memories. As a previous offshore chef and restaurant manager in Houston, I feel I can assess food with a fair and experienced eye. What We Ordered: · Calamari Steak: This was the biggest letdown. I remember a moist, 1/4-inch thick steak. What arrived was thin, oddly textured, and more reminiscent of chicken breast. The breading wouldn't stay on, and while the sauces were similar, the signature zestiness was missing. · House Salad: This was fine—crisp and fresh. · Pizza: It lacked foundational flavor. We could barely taste the sauce or detect any garlic or onion essence. Bell pepper was the overwhelming note. The crust was bland with no rise, and the pepperoni and ground beef toppings were dry and underwhelming. · Spaghetti & Meatballs (To-Go): The sauce was thin and bland. The meatballs had no herby, savory flavor—just dry, seasoned meat. I’m not sure if the issue is a change in suppliers, a different chef in the kitchen since COVID, or something else. The prices are reasonable, but the severe lack of flavor in key components makes it hard to feel you get your money's worth. I’m sharing this honestly, not to be harsh, but because I remember how great this place once was. I genuinely hope they can identify and fix these issues. Establishments like this are community gems, but only if they stay on top of their game.

I saw this restaurant on TikTok and wanted to venture out to try it — here’s how it went. Definitely get the calamari steak; it’s a very interesting take on the dish. My only thought is that the Caesar dressing on top feels a bit mismatched, perhaps an aioli or lighter sauce would pair better. The complementary bread and olive oil with herbs was a much-welcomed touch and a delight to start the meal. We ordered the tomato garlic pasta; the flavors were good, though it could’ve used a touch more seasoning. The pasta itself was slightly overcooked, which made the texture softer than ideal given the mix of cooked tomatoes and raw garlic. The snapper, however, didn’t quite match the menu description. It’s listed as sautéed, but it appeared to be pan-fried or possibly deep-fried with an egg coating. Because snapper is such a delicate fish, the coating overpowered it a bit. The Alfredo pasta it came with was solid, but the vegetable mix (carrots, zucchini, mushrooms, a lone broccoli floret, and red onions) didn’t feel cohesive with the rest of the dish. The lemon sauce also seemed like an afterthought rather than a complement. If the owner or chef happens to read this, I’d recommend trying a seared snapper with a fresh Italian lemon sauce — that could be a real standout. The service, though, was fantastic. We had Bubbles as our server, and she was an absolute ray of sunshine — great attitude, energy, and warmth throughout the evening. The atmosphere had some quirky elements — including an “aloha” sign in the corner that gave it a humorous twist. Would I come back? I’d return for the calamari steak and a glass of wine, but overall, what I tasted didn’t quite inspire me to explore more of the menu just yet. .

My family and I have been coming here for decades. We still come once or twice a month. The food is great, especially the jalapeño crawfish fettuccini. The entrees and salads are truly shareable. We will come again, but probably only a party of four or less. Larger parties get packed into too small a space and kids seem to get ignored. The level of service depends on the waiter. Today the server brought cocktails and wine right away, but never brought the child’s drink. We had to ask another waiter for it. Our waiter rarely came to our table which was in the front of the restaurant. He seemed to be mostly tending to a table in the back and ignoring us. The Old Fashions were terrible…waaayyyy sweeter than they should have been. They also used to have wine specials, but not, seemingly in December and January. Fuzzys Pizza allows you to bring your own wine and there’s no corking fee. They were not that busy but the restaurant had so many tables squished together that we and our neighboring patrons were constantly getting bumped by other guests and wait staff. Maybe they could put away a couple of tables or rearrange a bit. My mother-in -law ordered fettuccine with chicken with the sauce on the side. The waiter brought the fettuccini and the chicken drenched in the sauce on the side. Yuk. There are no changing tables in the restrooms. They have a kids menu and allow kids. There should absolutely be changing tables!!! Do they expect you to leave if your baby or toddler needs a change? We are probably not coming back near as often since almost all other restaurants are much, much better at accommodating families with kids.
