This store has employees that go above and beyond their job description. Three female employees didn't hesitate to run across the street towards an in progress car burglary, even though 1) it wasn't their problem 2) wasn't happening on their store property and 3) could have put them in danger. I'm pretty sure they were on their break as well. Seriously good people that deserve to be recognized. Come order food here if you want to be looked out for by Amazonians. Thank you Dani and Angela.

This particular El Pollo Loco is my favorite. My food is always fresh and hot... As for the company in general, just about everything on the menu is really good. UPDATE: My goodness how things have changed… The last couple times that I’ve been there… ITS NOT WORTH IT. It’s overpriced and the quality had gone down. The chicken is small and over cooked the majority of the time causing it to be dry.

I can’t express how pleased I am with this location. My mom, daughter, and I love this place and any chance we get we stop and eat here. The staff is amazing. The service is quick and the food is 10/10.

Originally I was just heading to micro center just looking for computer parts and I stumbled upon this bundle of joy and was not disappointed. The staff were friendly when I didn't know what I wanted and they made you feel very welcome. I loved the atmosphere and for the few staff there were, the area was pretty clean. The flame grilled chicken is excellent. Will definitely try the shrimp on my next visit. It was clean, the cashier was professional and polite. There are three choices for chicken in this block, by far this is the better choice. If there were a negative comment it's the menu is confusing.

I love the El Pollo Loco on S. Rice in Houston, Tx. I work next door and really enjoy the food. The customer service is outstanding, especially Dani. She is always so positive, helpful and courteous. This was my first time coming here. I first seen this restaurant in a show called Breaking Bad. Always wanted to try it but qt the time the show came, I was still living in NYC where there were none. I've been back in Texas since 2018 but haven't had the chance to try it out, life happens LOL. Always, I had the chicken tacos 🌮 with chips & drink combo. I LOOOVE that they have a station for salsa, JALAPEÑOS, onions and cilantro. Definitely coming back again! 😘🤌🏼

I have been back since my last review and yes, the customer service has improved. Everyone that works there are friendly and happy to serve you. I was there a few months ago and the power went out. Everyone in the kitchen jumped into action to make sure the customers were taken care off and the orders were not delayed. Original Post: I rarely eat here because usually the people that work here are not the best at customer service. I went for lunch today and the lady at the drive through was like “ what you want”. She sounded like she was in bad attitude and when I got to the window, she was not any nicer. Great service and atmosphere! I visit at least once a week and staff and managers are always attentive, friendly, and professional. It's also impressive that I always see them cleaning inside and outside of their location. I am a familiar customer at several locations. The manager Danielle is awesome! She always has a great attitude, and is very friendly, definitely hard working. Just an all around good spirit, who anyone would appreciate. I just left again here 8/27/25 and Dani is still in charge of this location, and is running it great! My hubby loved this place as a kid living in Cali so I picked some up for him for his birthday and drove it back 3.5 hours to our home in Louisiana. I was in town visiting family anyway. He was so happy and loved it. I got mashed potatoes, a wing and a churro. Everything was good except the churro, it wasn't bad I just thought it would have the creamy stuff in the middle. I'd go back and recommend this place.

Good food, chicken was well seasoned. I had the street corn bowl and it was excellent. But an employee blasting a ball game on the speakers of his phone a few tables away kind of ruined the atmosphere. Headphones are cheap, use them.

The food was hot and fresh. The chicken was cooked properly and well seasoned. The salsas and condiments tasted good, but some were almost empty and seemed to be sitting for a while. The inside was clean and free of trash. The seating was well maintained. The employees got my order correct, but they were not very friendly or attentive. I went back to the counter to ask for a bag and two employees walked past me and did not ask if I needed anything. I had to speak loudly to get someone's attention.

El Pollo Loco is a better alternative for me than the usual fast food options. The double pollo bowl hits the spot every time. The service is usually polite and prompt.

A Solid 4/5. I visit this location weekly, I am a loyal regular customer. I will be honest in this review - I often get sick with the salads, so I stopped eating those. My go to meal is the under 500 calorie black bean bowl and their fresh chips. I've always enjoyed their cilantro sauce, and the chicken is tender, juicy, and flavorful. The stickler with this location is the service. Since I frequently visit, I see everyone that ever works the drive thru. I have received two kinds of service here: bad and just OK. Nothing to write home about, except that I did write their corporate and talked to numerous managers about the situation here. Hopefully they really start focusing on the employees. Like I said, everything else is great, and I thank them for offering healthier Mexican food.

Usually when i go to this place the food is properly cooked and there's no issues. I've ordered maybe like 20 burritos at this point and had no issues. However I went today and I don't know who that cook is but the next time I get food poisoning from my burrito I will sue this establishment. It only happened once but being sick once can be very costly and hurtful on the human body. Whoever the cook was today doesn't know what he's doing or i guess zoned out today. But he needs to be careful because lack of effort with food preparation will result in lawsuits. Either from me or others who might get poisoned and it will be the easiest lawsuit win ever.... but overall, I will continue to come back because the food is very good and it only happened once out of the 1000 times that i come and eat food here.

Food was excellent; everything you can expect from a Mexican restaurant. Guacamole, refried beans and rice were delicious. Tortillas were hot and service was great. Burritos were also a good size and had great flavor.

Funny thing about this place is that it's next to a Chic-fil-A... in my personal opinion, why would anyone go to Chic-fil-A?! 😆 i mean... look at it, it's a legit grill doing the yummy yummy on that chicken!!!!! QiQi wanted to try this place because it served Tortilla soup. I wasn't a fan and rather have not but she is the boss. She got her Tortilla soup and loved it. I got the half a chicken with the corn and mash potatoes. She really enjoyed her soup and we'll, grilled chicken is what it is. I liked it and if there isn't anything else healthy to eat I would go here. The churros are not that good. Surely not authentic, more like very americanized and didn't come with any chocolate like they should have. I give it 4 starts because I am being nice for QiQi sake. However I say it is more like 3 stars.

I was the first in line at opening time and was told to drive around again which I found upsetting. I love the fact that this place serves shrimp; and that they give the option of substituting anything on their menu with shrimps for additional $1 only! I’ve been here too many times and their staff are friendly and treats their customer very nice. What I don’t like about is that they forget the orders, sometimes. I still wonder on how can they make a mistake more often on their customers order when there are barely any customers who goes here. There is really no excuse for them to make any mistake if there are only two other customers in their restaurant, right? I’ve never seen this place busy, so the only thing that I can think of is there lack of attentiveness. Speaking of lack of attentiveness, I’ve been noticing that nobody on their staff here really checks their dining area. Some of their tables have been dirty for who-knows-how-long already. Maybe they have a great faith that their customers are always cleaning their tables before leaving? That’s great! I think that almost everyone who dines here are throwing their trash after eating, but don’t expect that these customers would be wiping their tables, too. The tables are still dirty because of the food crumbs or some spills of the sauces, etc. Many of their staff are just at the front doing I-don’t-know-what when there are no other customers to prepare the food for. It’s fine if they want to talk to each other, but can they do that after making sure that the tables or the sauces area have been wiped? I’m pretty sure that they can. Their chickens are tasty but somewhat dry. Perhaps because they’ve been constantly warming them up throughout the whole day on their oven?

Disinterested servers. I placed order to eat there, and they put it in a to go bag. Had to ask for cutlery. Bathroom nearly out of soap and completely out of paper. Chicken portions are small to fair. Sides are lacking flavor. Do not go. Raising Canes and Chick-fil-A have much better service and quality.

The chicken I had was dry. Chicken seemed like it had been held in a hot box for too long. I was at the S. Rice location. First time there. Friend and I shared an 8 piece family plate. The rice was okay, and beans needed some salt, but that can be remedied. The table we sat at was diiirty and sticky. Green salsa was great. I would certainly quality check your chicken before it gets sent out.

Was very excited about bringing my Husband to this restaurant for the first time because I fell in love with the food and service at the Location in Katy. When we arrived, I was ignored for a few minutes, which was fine, because I understood that they may have been busy. When the cashier took our order, I felt rushed. They barely gave us time to look over the menu and decide anything. Once receiving my order, it looked nothing like the food I had received on my previous visits to El Pollo Loco. My tostada shell was cold and very dark, and so was majority of my food. The lettuce that I received was wilted and wet. I was not at all please with the food at this restaurant. Eventually the staff warmed up, but today was not a Pleasant experience in My Book. I seriously Doubt that I will be returning any time soon.

I am always down for a good burrito but not at the expense of my health. Let me point out the red flags that turned me off from ever coming to this location again! So, I'm observing while in the drive-thru window waiting to pay that one of the workers is happily making taco plates with her bare hands!! I mean no gloves, like really! You have got to be kidding me right now! Ewww & Cringing! Not only tha. The lady at drive thru window was doing even worse. Mind you. She had gloves on but was steady digging in her hair while she was wearing them!!! and taking to her coworkers instead of engaging the customers at the window. I'm not going to lie, I had to pray hard over my food that day! For future recommendations, wear gloves when making people food!!!! That's against health safety. You don't know who has compromised immune systems, weak stomach, children, elderly or whatever. Lastly, if you are wearing gloves, don't be digging in your personal DNA, like hair, nose, or ears. Take gloves off or have enough sense to wash your hands and put on a fresh pair!!! Finally, show your customers more courtesy in the drive thru by engaging them while their already waiting a long time to get food and not chatting and laughing with your coworkers who also not focusing and wearing any gloves!!!!

The first time I went the food was amazing 👏. I ordered the double chicken tostada bowl and it was perfect and plentiful. This time around I ordered the same thing and the double chicken bowl. The tostada bowl didn't seem to be as full as the first time and, the other bowl really has a small portion size for the price. The chicken pieces were extremely dry, charred and very hard. I had several pieces of gristle and tiny bone fragments.

Customer service was excellent, that’s the only reason for the two stars but the FOOD on the other hand well let’s start off with the nachos, they were very good BUT they left them to get soggy until the rest of the food was done! The stuffed quesadilla with birria was not so good. If your looking for real traditional Mexican food then this place needs to be passed. But overall the food was unseasoned. I wouldn’t recommend.

First time and last time coming here. I asked for no onions in the grilled chicken burritos and there was nothing but onions and cilantro with a small amount of chicken. It was lukewarm , meaning they prepared it well in advance... when they should've paid attention to the order and made mine fresh with no onions. The best part about the meal was the box it came in smh!

Consistent problems through the drive thru. I love their bowls and go pick them up during lunch. Last week I was given my bowl in a humongous round bowl. It was filled with more than half lettuce, not cabbage, and about two tablespoons worth of rice, beans, and chicken. Thats it. I noticed something was off when I saw lettuce instead of cabbage. The girl told me the rest was at the bottom and I took off. It was when I got to work that I realized I paid $11 for a ridiculous amount of lettuce. Today, I went again for the grande avocado bowl. Not sure how this place has 4 stars. The sauce was over salted and the burrito had all cabbage and sour cream on one side and the meat/rice on the other end, on top of being a pitiful sized burrito. I would have had better quality and quantity going to Taco Bell or Firebird. Not worth 11 bucks.

Got the spicy 4 piece combo. Small chicken pieces that were super dry, very little flavor/seasoning. Skin was dry and chewy in a bad way. Sides of rice and beans were really boring. Tortillas were floppy and flavorless. Ordered delivery: they forgot my drink, and didn't include the chips that were supposed to come with the combo I ordered. I definitely won't be going back, and wouldn't recommend this to any of my friends or family. You're better off getting KFC or another chicken place of your choice.

I came in today to order a 16 piece dinner and when the guy making the food heard the order, he chose to give me attitude, all because I was a Hispanic making the order. I would not recommend coming here if that’s how they’re going to treat customers.

I don't know if it's because of the time we went but the chicken has no flavor (lunchtime around 1) and not overly busy. This is the second time I've visited this location and the food just has no flavor.. Chipotle has better seasoned meat. The only good thing might be their green salsa.

So I placed an order for Delivery and waited at least 10 minutes after the time it said it should arrive. Only to find out that they said they don't deliver yet they have the delivery options and charged 5 dollars for delivery. This would have been my first time eating here but I guess not. I will definitely not waste my lunch break on them ever again. I mean come on now, you all know how it is ordering food for your lunch and only allowed a certain amount of time. Only to be Higley disappointed with the restaurant. The lady also didn't seem to care or even try to help. Beware...

The food in the place is good, but the last time I went was on Wednesday, February 8, I was surprised. It was 7:10 pm and it was already closed and the schedule says that they close later, the thing is that it's not the first time they've closed early. I drive 30 minutes to get there and the place closed. That's why businesses sometimes fail. For employees like this

Emily who addresses herself as the manager is a poor poor representation of Pollo loco. Her sassy attitude with me as a customer maybe explains why y'all parking lot is empty most of the time. Then instead of trying to de-escalate the situation she escalated it by being sarcastic with me. I like this location but I will never come back again until she has been terminated.

Very little meat in the tacos...usually much better than this. Check your food and make sure they give you correct portions .

Horrible!!!! They do not tell you they put jalapeño or hot pepper in EVERYTHING! My chicken meal was horribly hot. The sauces are burn your tongue off hot. They do not give you options of mild or hot or have it marked on the menu. The food is inedible. It's too hot. They can make someone very sick with that much peppers or whatever. Not everyone wants gastrointestinal disease or their tongue burned off from too much heat. Horrid absolutely disgusting

Waited half an hour for them to get my order wrong, never again! I said rice and beans and corn, and I got macaroni.

Ordered a two piece chicken meal. The chicken was old and dry,I felt that the girl gave me old chicken intentionally. The beans and coleslaw were good. I had to wait a couple of minutes for someone to come to the register to take my order.

I've eaten here twice this week and both times my chicken was dry, over cooked and barely eatable. Paid $20 twice for a meal that tasted like gas station food. I'm avoiding this pollo loco.

Looks like it could be a cool place, but our food was not what we hoped for at all. The service was slow on an empty restaurant day. We waited about 20 minutes for 4 chicken tacos & a quesadilla.

Decided to try this place based on reviews. Customer service was terrible no one was at the front I had to wait a few minutes while employees were talking ! I ask the lady for sauces there was some missing. The chicken had little flavor very dry not fresh. The rice was uncooked! It was very chewy and the beans no where close to Mexican beans was more of can beans. Please read bad reviews they're all true !. I do not recommend this place. For the price food quality is terrible.

I don’t know what’s going on here, but this is only my second time inside the restaurant and it was blistering hot again. I thought the first time might have just been poor climate control management, but it’s clear this restaurant is run down and not properly maintained. They clearly have a broken AC system, along with a broken soda machine and other issues worth mentioning. I tried filing a complaint with the manager, but no manager was to be found, so I called the corporate office—and of course, they didn’t answer either. Worst fast-food restaurant experience.

We are very happy ordering chicken. and they give us very dry chicken and it looks like it has been cooked for a long time. I buy because I like the flavor.. I decide to complain because this is the third time that they give me very dry chicken..How are you going to spend 35 dollars and give dried chicken to your children?We look at the chicken when we are already at home.because we order online.

I was GREATLY DISAPPOINTED with the food at this location. I paid almost $12 for a 2 piece combo with rice and beans. The rice was dry and horrible. It look like it had been sitting all day. The pieces of chicken was so small and sort of dry. The flavor was pretty good but this was definitely a WASTE of money!! I won’t be going back!!

Had ordered a Burrito Grillers Box. Not bad but I think the portion is less than expected. The food was ok. What I didn't like is the service. They made me wait too long on purpose and there was no line. They already know about it. (Jan. 7)
