Great neighborhood, family owned and run meat market with small town, country store vibe. Numerous pickled items such as beets & onions in Mason jars, hot BBQ sandwiches, Ribs, Buffalo Burgers cooked to order, and deli meats. Superb house made cowboy cookies and friendly service. Good dine-in choice for quick lunch or to go.

My first visit here and they food is great. I got a chopped beef sandwich and a chocolate chip cookie. The service is great, the staff are friendly and the prices are decent. The fries 🍟 were a bit pricey (gotta love inflation) The owner was so nice. He talks to his customers, and even ran the register. He gave me a freebie sandwich for the road. I even saw him giving a paying customer some cookies to try. I will be back. It is not every day that you meet such kind and friendly people like Michael!!!

Best brisket sandwiches in Houston! Feels like a small-town deli in the best kind of way. The egg salad and other sides are delicious as well. Michael (the owner) represents the best of Texas hospitality and is the warmest, most generous person you’ll ever meet. 10/10

Seriously the best place for lunch (they cook too!) And the best place to buy meat!! The owner is so friendly and will remember you if you have talked to or have dealt with him before. Everyone is so friendly! They also sell wine to compliment meals, along with cakes and a whole bunch of other stuff. Seriously, if you are reading this review, it would be an injustice to yourself to not check out these guys. They are the best!!!!

Pete's Fine Meats has a great selection of meats. When I started working out with a trainer, they recommended that I get all my meats from them. They had ostrich meat, buffalo meat, and other lean meats. Hands down the best!

They offer hot fresh prepared for dining in food service daily , I believe . And also supply a beautiful array of exotic meats on site as well as regular beef ribeye , chicken , eggs etc. Amongst plenty else! Really enjoy shopping here!

We came to Pete's to try out some exotic meats. Michael and Linda are Fantastic! Great suggestions and tips on how to cook what we bought. The deli was great too. We had to get a snack! The gentleman at the deli was super nice! The staff made is feel like family. Will be back for sure!

Just had the most wonderful experience ! We were visiting from out of town trying to find rattlesnake meat for a true Texas experience. They were sold out of rattlesnake so Michael sent us off with some free samples and the kindest customer service ive ever encountered. Also the best cookies I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend to a friend. Amazing people, amazing service, amazing quality. We will be back!

Great sandwiches and their chili is legit!

Pete’s Fine Meats & Deli has got a wonderful selection of meats. It’s one of the few places in town I can find a good shoulder roast (grocery stores never have it or don’t know what I’m talking about). The staff is very nice, knowledgeable, and helpful. I haven’t tried the prepared foods in the deli section, but it always smells delicious. While there are closer places to my house to buy meat, I’d rather drive a little further and get exactly what I want. That’s why I go to Pete’s!

Hidden Gem !!! This store is unlike any other in Houston they have amazing hospitality makes you feel like your around family. They have a broad selection of meats more than your average butcher and if you don’t think that is true, go ask any butcher in town if they have lion meat or kangaroo meat? Very exotic meats you won’t find anywhere else. That’s not all the Deli is the reason I mainly come, their award winning philly cheesteak is easily the best in Houston and even in the country I don’t see how it could be any better. Everything from the bread to the spices is put together to perfection, no franchise can compete. They also have many more options on the menu that I can’t wait to try. To add the cherry on top ask them if they have homemade cookies available they are truly the best I’ve ever had ! Highly recommend to just go in and check it out there’s something for everyone. Here Ownership leads by Example in their Customer Interaction and Service. To be honest, each visit feels more like a "drop in" to a Family member's than a transactional stop. And the Hot Deli is the ABSOLUTE Best! I HIGHLY Recommend the Buffalo Burger for the Healthiest of Appetites!!! Also, Be Certain to grab some of the Homemade Cookies to go!

Pete’s Fine Meats has an incredible selection of traditional and exotic meats, from rabbit to axis deer. I was in a bind for some marinated fajita meat for a BBQ I was hosting the same day. I called as soon as they opened, and they assured me they could have what I needed in just 20 minutes. True to their word, 10 pounds of inside skirt steak and 5 pounds of marinated chicken breasts were perfectly marinated, vacuum-sealed, and ready for my party. The beef fajitas were such a hit that I barely had any leftovers! Their customer service is always top-notch, and they have a great selection of ready-to-eat meals. We also picked up some great salsa while we were there. Whatever you do, make sure to grab a pack of their chocolate chip/macadamia/coconut cookies. These are by far some of the best cookies known to man, and I’m amazed they don’t sell out every day. Highly recommend!"

The Turkey was out of this world. When I picked up the Turkey and my prime rib, the owner was there and gave me two of the best fresh homemade cookies I have ever had. The entire staff was so nice and even carried my purchase to my car. They are on the higher price side, but for the quality, it is worth every penny. His generosity and genuine nature were beyond timely and an excellent reminder that there are still good people out here. My father recently passed and he gave me some things to take to my mother when I return to Dallas tomorrow. We talked about his father and family and it was the kind of experience where The Lord reminds you that you are not alone. I will make it a point to get here every time I visit Houston. And let me tell you something, get the cookies! They still use his mom’s recipe. I tried one and I just had to smile and nod and smile and nod. Thank you!

Pete's Fine Meats and Deli has an awesome selection of quality meats, both traditional and exotic. Today, my son and I picked up Bison steaks and Kangaroo steaks. The Bison was of excellent quality and was absolutely delicious. The cookies here are unlike any other I have had throughout Houston. They are definitely a must-have if you're craving something sweet. The staff here are very knowledgeable and very, very friendly. The customer service alone is reason enough to come back. I encourage anyone to visit Pete's! You will not regret it...

Best patty melt in the city! They have a large selection of soda pops too, these brands Dublin and Hanks. There’s potato salads and deviled eggs, they’ll cook you a full steak if you ask them to.

First time eating here. I love it. They have good homemade food. I had the chili, it was delicious.

I don't know how well these pictures will describe how good these steaks were. I seasoned and let sit in my fridge for about 18 hours before cooking on a cast iron. Definitely the best steaks I have ever made at home. I get all my steaks, chops, sausage, and turkeys at Pete's because they deliver consistently. Edit 2023: Just look how pretty this pork shoulder is. Never disappoints.

The owner and staff were super nice and helpful. They kept asking us to try samples and even gave us some extra meat to take home and cook while we were checking out. The deli sandwich were also very tasty and the portion size was generous.

Whenever we feel like a delicious turkey sandwich, we always stop by this local deli. We enjoy the hot turkey sandwich on a hoagie bun. The fries are nice and crispy, they offer beef and pork ribs, (prefer the pork ribs over the beef ribs) and we always get the bottles of Joe Tea peach tea. Very warm and friendly family feel to the deli. Nice local spot that's been open for a long time!

Pete’s Fine Meats & Deli is the greatest Meat Market I have ever experienced. “Yes” it’s a total wonderful experience! They offer very choice cuts and selection meat, with some being exotic,…meaning out of the norm. I had my steaks grilled for free after I had purchased them, they were tasty and cooked medium well as ordered. They have sandwiches, hoggies, chopped Bar-b-que, tacos, deviled eggs, cookies and so much more. Go see for yourself and tell them “James told me so.” -smile-

Extremely nice people. We went there after seeing this deli/meat market on Eat like a local. We were not disapointed at all , we were pleasantly surprised at the outstanding customer service. The quality and the large variety of meats were very impressive. The owners and staff were accomodating and personable. A great place to shop for great food.

This spot is the real deal! My first time here I got a hoagie and fries and tried the deviled eggs. It was a please to speak with George and Mike, both were very personable. I would certainly recommend this location. Fairly priced for such good food. Words can’t describe the quality. I will be sure stop by again and try something different.

This must be Sir Mix A lot’s favorite burger spot, since he likes ‘em real thick and juicy. Solid burger and really good spot in general. I may need to head back tomorrow to try a deli sandwich, but that burger was so filling! ...…............................ Back today for a sandwich. Turkey and ham on wheat. This thing was stuffed. Some of the best turkey I’ve had in awhile. Tired the red skin potato salad today which was also delicious. Great spot.

Very expensive. Got a few things... they are alright. Not worth the price. $50 for a pound of decent jerky is nuts.

Typically love everything I've had from here so I decided to order our Thanksgiving turkey from them this year. Unfortunately it was horribly dry with very little to no flavor and no type of reheating instructions, luckily we made a ham. With a price tag over $100 I wont be doing that again.😅

The food looked good, but however it wasn't seasoned at all and it was cold and tasted like it had been refrigerated. Won't try this again, very disappointed.

This place might have been good if the communication was at least decent. None of the workers knew what was going on and what meats to cook. Everyone was scared of the chef because he has a bad attitude. I want to give this place a chance but the inability to tell a customer how it operates ( as in where to pay, what can I ask to be cooked etc) as a owner and employee is unacceptable. We asked question trying to get food and was met with horrible attitudes. Don’t support this business

I used to go here quite a bit with my family to buy deer and the walnut cranberry bread they used to sell Pete was always kind and treated my family with respect as soon as we walked in. We were always greeted and asked if we were looking for anything in particular. Once we bought a whole deer and he throw in some buffalo burgers as a treat. I recently returned here with my mother to see if we could find the bread we loved. As we were getting out of our car a gentleman was getting out of his car and was giving us a rather dirty look. The man was driving a white Range Rover, if that helps jog a few memories. We walked into the store and started to look around for the bread but unfortunately we were not able to find it. We were in the store for about 10 minutes and through out this time no one approached us, asked if we needed help, or even greeted us. We noticed the same man that had given us the dirty look was behind the counter talking with some of the workers. I don’t know if this man was the owner of the store or if he’s a relative of the owner but he noticed we were looking around. He even motioned to us to the workers but still no one approached us. We left the store since we felt so unwelcome and didn’t even bother asking for help since it didn’t seem like they wanted to help us. I used to have fond memories about this store due to the previous experience we had here but this has soured my experience rather terribly. I have never walked into a store and felt so disrespected than this time when I visited Pete’s. I don’t write reviews very often since I believe it’s a bit of waste of time but I wanted to speak out about this treatment since I don’t remember Pete’s as this type of place. Unfortunately I won’t be returning here anymore since I felt so unwelcome. Truly a sad occurrence that ruined one of my favorite places since I was a kid.

Seen this place for years finally stopped for some lunch. Got a three meat of brisket sausage and ribs. Brisket was nothing but fat, very salty and over smoked. Sausage was cold and greasy, ribs were ok but would have been better fresher. Very disappointing I was hoping for a better experience. Will not return for lunch.
