Don’t sleep on this place! The food is really good. It is clean, the staff is friendly and the prices are great! This my family’s favorite secret spot to eat.
I really like it :) it's really cozy and it just feels like a safe space. Very comforting being here, always makes me feel better
Was visiting family in Texas when they told me about this Mexican restaurant. Ik usually picky with my Mexican food but this really hit the spot!
Awesome owner and great food!! One of the best Mexican spots in Houston fa sho
Amazing food and amazing atmosphere! Great personnel as well. 10/10 recommend!
We've been eating here for 30+ years. Food has remained consistently good all that time. Favs are Jalisco and Carne Asada.
We were in Houston for the afternoon and found this place by accident. The food was great! Very flavorful. There were options for very spicy or mild. Our server was very attentive. Make sure to order the sopapillas for dessert.
I enjoy Casa Dominguez for several reasons. The food is consistently good tho I have my faves, margaritas are great, the surroundings are very relaxed and comfortable (a former home??) and the wait staff, chef and manager are very kind, accommodating, and cordial. I especially enjoy the salmon with onions, and the steak (parilla with garlic).
This is a great little hole in the wall. Since moving to the new location, its a little quiet and hidden, but the food as good as it ever was. Carne Asada is fantastic, but nobody I've ever brought has ever complained. Service is attentive, and the prices are more than reasonable. Enjoy!
so yummy! service was excellent & food came out quickly. will be returning it in in the area! would recommend.
Really great food! Enchiladas and beans are amazing! Definitely recommend to anyone in the Houston area! Great service at well!
I don't get the bad reviews. It's not a chain restaurant, it's been there forever, nothing's over $10, what can you expect? I love this place. I'm a big fan of hole in the wall restaurants and this place is right up the top of my list. Great food, comes out in a timely manner, it might take a few minutes for them to give you the check, but what's the rush? Aggie Special is the best dish on the menu! One of the best margaritas around! Interesting fact: since it's in Bellaire city limits, you can smoke, but only at the bar. This would be a great place for a rehearsal dinner! Don't read all into the bad reviews because this is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston. We just moved out west near Kirkwood and Westheimer, but we still come here every once in a while because it's that good!
Our favorite go-to Mexican restaurant in Bellaire. We love to eat there as a family. Great dinner specials each night too.
Great service. The chips were amazing and the fajitas for two was delicious AND a great value! Liked the ambiance too. Truly a great find!
Yummy Yummy, Yummy -my favorite Mexican spot in Houston! Besides being undoubtedly delicious, it’s quaint, fresh and has atmosphere! Chicken enchiladas are smoked and juicy. Vegetarian Cheese enchiladas are perfectly ahhhhhh worthy!! PS the side room which is a full bar setting could be a terrific neighborhood bar (much needed in Bellaire). Freshly blended $5-7 margaritas are a must! #supportlocal
I live near Casa Dominguez and eat there a lot. It's a great casual tex-mex place. Don't expect fine dining, but I swear the food gets better with each visit. The margaritas are excellent, the portions are generous, and the waiters are really friendly.
Always fast and attentive. They even remember our previous choices, and always offer us a cup of their delicious chicken soup before we order. The food is very good and quite reasonable.
Carne Asada was delicious. Chips and salsa were outstanding. Service was top notch. Definitely stop by for a good meal during lunch.
Off the beaten path, but a good find!
The Chino Acapulco style enchiladas were very good with a tasty salsa Verde sauce. The chips were light and tasty, not greasy. The red salsa was good and the green sauce was spiced just right and very tasty.
Love the food especially the chips and salsa and just the atmosphere it’s a quiet lowkey and I love the service very nice people
Great Mexican food and timely service. The margaritas are amazing! Definitely recommend
This place is THE BOMB!!! I Love Their food, the pricing is definitely affordable! I love It and bringing friends❤️
My first visit in years and my first visit to the cedar street location. We had the tacos al carbon lunch special. Great tasting salsa and pico de gallo. Not sure now why I was not going more frequently!
Food was DELICIOUS. Everything tasted fresh, possibly the best watermelon margarita I've ever had.
My friend and I had one of the lunch specials. Service and the meal was very good. Definitely worth a return visit. Maybe go back for dinner next time.
The Migas at Casa Dominguez in Bellaire are the best Migas I’ve had in Houston. They are more chip than egg and cooked to perfection. Most Migas in my opinion are wayyy overcooked but these are just right. They are available for brunch on Saturdays and Sunday’s so you’ll have to time your visit right to get some. This is a great little hole in the wall that’s rarely crowded and has stellar food and margaritas. My family and I have been coming here for over twenty years and the wait staff know my order.
My Favorite Mexican food restaurant in town. Very quick service, never busy at lunch. Great place to take a date in my opinion.
Even though I went to get take out I regret not eating in the restaurant instead!. The atmosphere felt like home and the owner was caring to us and always helped us with what we wanted. An absolute 10/10! Will be coming here again🤩
Great food the fajitas were delicious
Wonderful hidden gem! Cozy family owned TexMex restaurant near the Bellaire HEB. Excellent, personable service and even better food. Very authentic. Reasonable prices as well. We now try to go here at least once a week.
Great food and fast service. Highly recommend!
We have been coming to Casa Dominguez since our kids were little —over 26 years ago. We love coming here because very consistent food quality and easygoing, casual atmosphere. We will be back!
Must of hit at the right time, only the second couple seated, service exceptionally fast, Rita's were good. Marilyn had spinach enchilada and sauteed squash, me, plain old beef enchilada. Great meal, even same waiter from 155 years ago at old location!
Delicious, most definitely the best Mexican food ive had in a very long time. If you're in Texas i definitely recommend going. Owner was very kind too.
The food is incredible and the service was amazing! Thank you so much! I would recommend this to anyone whose looking for delicious authentic Mexican food
My coworkers and I wanted some Spanish food and came out here. The atmosphere in the restaurant felt very homey and they had weekly entree specials. I ordered the Astros special for preparation of the upcoming ALDS series against the Yankees. It was mouth watering and very filling. The chips and red and green salsa were spot on. Chips were warm, thin, and very crunchy. Freshly made chips. I recommend coming here for some delicious Spanish food and enjoy some homey tasty food.
I'm a school bus driver...l was able to safely park the school bus lnwas driving next to the establishment without wondering if it was safe. This place is awesome. The food is the bomb! I have food allergies and I'm vegetarian. I told the waiter what my needs were and he made suggestions. I ordered my food and he gave me exactly what l ordered. I didnt have to go back and forth or send things back to the kitchen....l got what l ordered without any problems. Then when I got ready to go he gave me the necessary containers for my food and drink to take with me. I will be going back again one of my favorite places from now on! The plate was the only thing that was sizzling hot not my mouth from eating food or salsa that was made with hot peppers. My red and green salsa along with the rest of my food was deliciously great! Thank you for a dining experience worth the words l wrote about your staff, restaurant and food!
This place is AMAZING!! The customer service is incredible, they truly care about you and your experience!! The food is so good, we have to go atleast once a week!!
I've been eating here for 25 years. And the food is always excellent. The people are fabulous.
The food was very flavorful and delicious. We ordered the fajitas for our acompany Holiday Party. This resturant has 3 different dining rooms. The main dining area is nice and cozy for a date night, the bar area is is nice and room and has separate table seating and theres anither back dining area for larger groups and parties. The owner is very accommodating friendly, the waite staff was very attentive and the food was GREAT! some nights they have Karaoke. What a fun time we had. We will be back.
Great hidden gem to head too. Super friendly service, great food, and a nice traditional atmosphere you would expect from a good Tex Mex place.
Service was excellent, the waiter was nice and sweet. He answered any questions I had and the salsa was amazing. Would definitely recommend to family and friends!
I absolutely love Casa Domínguez!! Martín and his family are so kind and friendly! They’ve hosted events for me and my family multiple times and each event comes out amazing!! Please stop by! They deserve the love from Houston!
This place is great for a delicious dinner! I love Brenda’s Favorite, Pollo en Crema and their Quesadillas! Margarita’s are delicious! The staff are amazing, attentive, and personable. Never been dissatisfied- ever!
We had an amazing experience at this restaurant. The service was outstanding—friendly, welcoming, and made us feel completely at home. Our server was actually the owner's son, and he took great care of us throughout the meal. Everything we ordered tasted fresh and full of flavor. It's the kind of place that makes you want to come back again and again. Highly recommended!
What a great place off the beaten path! The food was superior, like Mamma was cooking all the dishes in the kitchen. Portions were perfect, very satisfying, and my Pollo Adobado entree was so good, the ancho chile sauce was a perfect blend of spices with the Ancho pepper as the main flavor. Nice big margaritas and a good selection of beers. Service was wonderful. The waiter helped us decided on dinner choices and told us that the owner has had this family restaurant going for more than 40 years. This is a must visit restaurant. I will be back when I visit Houston again.
Great food, service, & atmosphere. Glad I took a chance on authentic Mexican gourmet. I was NOT disappointed at all! Prices are reasonable for the amount of food they serve. Will come back soon.
My husband, grandson, and I visited Casa Dominguez for supper today, and we were absolutely blown away! From start to finish, everything was top-notch. The food was delicious—definitely some of the best Mexican cuisine we've had in a long time. The service was excellent, with friendly staff who made sure we were well taken care of. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, adding to an all-around wonderful dining experience. Casa Dominguez is definitely a gem, and we’ll be returning soon!
Cutest homelike restaurant ever! I felt right at home and the food was delicious. I feel I love with their margaritas. The owner was a sweetheart and went out of his way to make sure our visit was going smoothly. Sadly I’m from out of state but if I’m ever visiting again best believe I’ll be there again!
I enjoyed this cozy restaraunt. It was nice having our work members meet for lunch. They have a good lunch special and fajitas, enchilidas were all very tasty.
Nice quiet environment for lunch. Good happy hour prices
service was wonderful! ran by an amazing owner. the food don’t even get me started was astonishing and could taste the authenticity right away! definitely would recommend to others! eat there and take it all in
Ckicken Creama a favorite with pieces of grilled chicken breast with a light almond cream sause, with grilled squash on a bed of lettuce and tomatoes. Weekends can get Caldo del Rey, a hearty large soup with veggies and beef. Also Serving fish and had Salmon with fresh veggies and fried cheese. Delicious. Reasonably priced , not on menu, so ask for fish of the day. Neighborhood atmosphere in the bar section. Caldo on weekends is a favorite.
This place is amazing!! Went here yesterday and got the fajitas for 2, queso, and strawberry margarita. The chips and salsa were fresh and the queso was also fresh and delicious. The fajitas were delicious and great portions for the prices! Prices were pretty cheap compared to some other Mexican restaurants in the area. The guacamole and pico were to die for. Even the rice and beans which are usually never good to me at other Mexican restaurants. This place had the freshest food all across the board. The margaritas were delicious!! The environment of the restaurant reminded me of a classic Mexican style home. Very homey and nicely decorated. This is going to be my new regular place!
Delicious Cheese enchiladas with onions added on top. Excellent Tortilla soup. Lots of chicken and vegetables. I have been a customer for over 40-years at this restaurant. I have never had a bad meal. I am surprised some diners say this restaurant is the "worst" or "horrible." Not a true or accurate review. Every mexican restaurant has their own version of Green salsa, some are thin, some are chuncky, some are creamy. Just because your preference is "creamy" or "thick," don't crucify the restaurant based on your personal likes or dislikes. I personally like the thinner Green salsa from time to time. Something different. A food review should be on your personal tastes. If you did not enjoy a meal, don't return. But, do post a review and say it's the worst or horrible restaurant on your own beliefs. All you are doing is driving business away from a local independent business owner. Some of the best "Tex-Mex" in the Houston area and Bellaire.
I love this restaurant. Very quiet, fast paced, delicious food. I will say it is a much better idea to go into the restaurant than order to-go or DoorDash.
Thank you for always make us feel like in Home. Amazing food Great drinks Amazing service. It's a great place to come for a single meal or a big party 🥳
This is genuinely the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. I got the burrito tejano and it came with chips and homemade salsa. All of it was fresh and delicious, especially the chips which were made in house too. The gentleman who greeted me was super polite and I honestly don’t know why the foot traffic is low given how high the food quality is.
This spot is severely underrated. I came here before close and still the owner welcomed me in with incredible warmness. Atmosphere was great and the food spoke for itself. Quality of the meats, homemade tortillas, chips, and salsas were very impressive. I ordered the beef fajitas plate and was not disappointed. The meat was well seasoned, and cooked to perfection - tender and charred perfectly. Would definitely recommend this place a visit. Portion size was also great.
I loved this place!! The food is so good. I am not a big fan of fajitas but this one was amazing. The meat was so soft and tender, and the sides were SO GOOD. The chips were also amazing with the sauce that are made in the house. Can’t recommend it enough!! Even though we came a little late, the owner was extremely kind and attentive. Thank you!! The portion size is so good and I am excited to eat the leftovers soon
Came here from Katy after watching the TikTok. The service is great, the food was amazing!!! The rice is absolutely delicious. I got two jalapeño margaritas n OMG I will definitely stop by for drinks for a girls night!!! And the praline cheesecake is a must! It was an absolute lovely experience
Casa Dominguez is one of my favorite places for a quiet, low-key quality meal. The roja and verde salsas are fresh and super good tasting, and the chips are always good, too. Their iced tea has the most generous lemon slice I've ever seen on a glass of tea, anywhere. I tried their pork and potato rollitos, really good.
Have had the pleasure of having several private parties...birthday parties, Christmas parties and retirement party, at Casa and all my guests have said what great drinks, wonderful food and, fabulous staff but, most of all they ALL said what a FANTASTIC TIME they had! Totally recommend this magnificent restaurant! That's why we always recommend it for parties, meetings or just for an intimate dinner, if you and your significant other, just want to have a quiet little romantic dinner. Totally recommend Casa for your next visit! We call it our second home!...And don't forget to try their Top Shelf Margaritas...they are absolutely to die for!! :-)
In their new location near the Bellaire Triangle for over a year, but a couple of blocks off the beaten track. In its old inside-the-loop Bissonnet location (now a dental complex), it had a funky well-worn ambiance. It is now renewed and one can enjoy selecting from the long list of "named" menu items. My wife enjoys the Aggie Special (although not an Aggie). I enjoy the Mexican Special or half a dozen other well-prepared meat dishes. One special (and free) item are the chips, which are especially light and tasty. Friendly wait staff. Easy free parking.
A perfect place to get a quick and tasty lunch at a reasonable price. The restaurant is off the beaten path, but exceeds many of the more prominent Mexican restaurants in the surrounding area in terms of price, service, and quality. I found their fajita beef to be both flavorful and plentiful. Their salsa is spicier than most places, which is a major plus in my opinion, and seemed to be fresh. Service during my visits has been prompt and courteous.
Did a doordash pickup order. Good food and friendly service. Parking was easy for pickup. Just wish the descriptions on their online menu were a little more detailed. Cheese enchiladas contain a meat based sauce but make no mention of any sauce at all. We are a vegetarian household so we had to pass on two of our four entrees. Also, chips and salsa were tasty, red salsa packed some nice heat.
Food was a little standard, but still good. I would go back
Great little Mexican restaurant sort of off to the side. The food however can sometimes be quite greasy and less high quality, but other dishes can be very good. The atmosphere is good and the restaurant is very large. The staff is polite and the food is ready quickly enough.
I tried this place because it's close to my house. It is standard Tex-Mex food, with nothing special of note. Prices are decent as well as the amount of food.
The atmosphere was pleasant; the staff was nice. Very accomdatting and friendly. Family-friendly environment. The food, however, was not so great. I would suggest revising the menu and maybe increase the quantity of the spices and flavoring. It was an overall fair experience.
My boyfriend and I stopped in for the first time ever last week. I ordered a "top shelf" jalapeño margarita (requested 1800 tequila), and a shot of Grand Marnier on the side, and my boyfriend ordered the house margarita. It wasn't busy whatsoever. The younger bartender left the bar to get an older gentleman (I guess to assist in making our drinks) and I watched him make a drink, which I assumed was mine. He got the jalapeños and some type of juice, some mixer and citronge.....then I watch him use the spout for the house margarita mix...the same mix I watched the younger bartender use for my boyfriend's house margarita. Then he sat the jalapeño margarita in front of me and walked away. I doubt they're using 1800 for their house margaritas....and I never saw him touch the bottle of 1800 that entire time. So I mentioned it to my boyfriend and he said maybe since a different guy made it, he didn't know. And I'm not one to make complaints, so I (disappointedly) drank it. When the bill came..I'll be dammed, I was charged for an 1800 margarita (it was $11 and some change, when my boyfriend's house margarita was like $5-6)!? And the Grand Marnier shot...8 dollars and some change!? So my jalapeño (house) margarita and one shot of Grand Marnier was about $20. Nah, I'm not about that. I will admit I didn't complain, I just didn't tip as well as I normally would. But that was enough to turn me off, we definitely will not be going back.
I had the Chile Relleno. Surprised when the pepper came wrapped in a flat fried egg. Not what I was expecting. The salsas and their rice are very good.
We expected a little more, given the reviews and the location. I ordered the tacos al carbon, always an indicator of how well a restaurant seasons and cooks beef. They were fine. Not great, not awful, and the serving size was good. The refried beans had a very acidic flavor, and we both gave them a miss. The salsas they brought out initially were very watery and flavorless. When I complained, they replaced them with salsas that were thicker and more flavorful. There was nothing about our meal that would warrant a return.
This place is small with a lovely intimate atmosphere. The service was good. The food, however, was low quality. I was really disappointed. I went for lunch and had the chicken burritos and one of the combos with a side of rice. The green sauce was not fresh, the beef was almost like Taco Bell, the food seemed microwaved, and the rice was overcooked. I really like the look of the bar. I would give it a shot. I just won't go there hungry. 3 stars only because I love the at home feel. I would recommend updating the chairs. Some of them are getting a little rickety.
Could not bad just not great service so so waiter seem to be disinterested I don't know if it's because we were new. Had not been there in a long time a little pricey for the quality and the amount of food you get they serve wine and tiny little glasses and don't pay attention when you need more.
This food was very salty. It was average at best. The items on the menu that look like combination plates are not served with any sides, even though the prices were in the $10 range. I would not recommend this restaurant.
This is an odd place. I would describe them as an olds folks texmex joint. Plenty of salt but I'm missing all of the flavors of texmex. Where's the cumin! Very quiet, a little uncomfortably so, clean with excellent service and next to no flavor. But the rice was good. I think this was once an Italian restaurant that they've vaguely redressed as a Mexican place. Very confusing place.
We have been going here for many many years and this is the first time I've felt the need to write a bad review. We had Migas and Huevos Rancheros and they were both unappetizing and poor quality to say the least and gave us both heartburn. Not sure what happened but another meal like this and we won't be returning
The service was good but the food was very low quality. I ordered the taco salad with ground beef. The cheese tasted artificial and the beef reminded me of wet dog. The chips and salsa were just OK. My stomach felt uneasy when I left the restaurant.
When I went there at dinner rush hour at 7pm on Friday night, there was one person at the bar and I was the only diner. I suffered from food poisoning with violent vomiting and violent diarrhea for the next three days after eating there.
I asked him if he could give me fajitas rice, guacamole, flour tortillas and a drink. I was shocked at how small the food portions were. I spent 18$ here not worth coming back.
The worst Tex Mex restaurant I have been. The food was mediocre. The flour tortillas were store bought, the chips and salsa were also store bought but low quality. Nothing tasted “restaurant quality.” The rice was mushy and lack flavor. I wouldn’t come back here even if I got a $100 gift card. If you want a poor quality meal, this is the place for you.
Food overpriced and not flavorful at all..portions not worth the price at all...Food was overcooked and extremely bland...very quiet and quaint if that is what you are going for....I judge mexican restaurants by their salsa red was mid gave very much pace picante..green was absolutely repulsive...they are definitely catering to a certain demographic....
Not a good restaurant. Great service, but the food was not edible. The rice was dry, and seasoned poorly. The fajitas were unflavorful and probably frozen/refrigerated after being cooked a month ago, and the carne guisada was tough and tasted like pot roast. Very disappointing!!
I first visited Casa Dominguez when they were still at their original Bissonnet location the day after Hurricane Harvey wrecked the city, they were one of the only places open in my area. I got the sour cream chicken enchiladas and they absolutely saved my life that day. However every time since then it was worse and worse each time. Grocery store tamales reheated and served as their own, bland seasoning, etc. Today however was the last straw. My wife is sick and wanted tortilla soup with vegetables, so I figured I would give them one last shot. Ordered to go, bowl of tortilla soup, side of rice.. it arrived in a 12oz styrofoam cup packed with mushy corn chips, a couple chunks of avocado and zero vegetables, and poorly seasoned. Came with a side of chips but no salsa. I had to prepare more vegetables and add ingredients myself to make it palatable. It shouldn't be my job to cook my meal further when I already spent good money for the convenience of a prepared meal. I love supporting local and it pains me to say I'll never go back. I'll stick to Los Tios down the road.
absolutely disgusting. directv for television. which was shoddy because of rain. no music. waiter/only employee turned on tv halfway through meal. had to ask for water. flautas (beef or chicken) had no flavor. guac had no flavor. an embarrassment honestly.
We were not offered anything to drink until halfway through the chips/salsa, which was a bad experience in that the green sauce was watery, very thin with basically no flavor, the chips were very small like they had been crushed. My tacos el carbon were served cold on a cold plate, no matter the waiter said they were cooked on a grill. Very bad experience and will not be going back.
