Amazing yummy place for dinner. Husband and I got Quesabirra’s for entrees. Our appetizer was queso. we were asked if we wanted shrimp placed in the middle. Literally the best grilled shrimp I’ve ever had!!!! Only downside- I made a reservation. 2 parties showed up at the same time with normal check in- they got seated first, even though we had a reservation. I’d say the reservation was pointless. Smaller layout, so it was a bit crowded at rush dinner time. Otherwise Our server was amazing. I didn’t see a margarita on the menu that caught my eye. She helped make a custom marg with fresh pineapple 🍍 yummm. We will be coming back every trip to bend!! It’s a must try!
Update 8/2025. It seems like the food has improved here with great ingredients and preparation. Service was good too. Great family friendly, upscale Mexican restaurant. Very reasonably priced kids menu with an excellent happy hour too. Food was fresh and very well done. Chips came with fresh salsa and beans at the table, salsa was excellent with a rich smokiness. Service was great and fast. Overall inviting upbeat atmosphere. Fresh guacamole prepared table side, and a fun table side band too. Great for a date or family.
So good I forget to take the food pic before we've dug in. This is truly the best fresh-mex north of San Diego. I don't go anywhere else any more in Bend. Really.
Was an easy access to get in. We had no wait time. The menu was an online menu, which was intriguing. They brought water, salsa and chips as we sat down. When we ordered it felt like it was only 10 minutes to get our food. Thats where it was amazing. The food was delicious and it was a first to eat out pineapple. I'd recommend for anyone going through to stop and eat.
I'm from out of town, and as I'm writing this review I will have just visited Bend for my fourth time; and every time I've stopped in town I've gone here for dinner at least once. The food is amazingly delicious and the service is on point. Our waiter even gave me a special recommendation for tequila marinated skirt stake (a must try!) I also got a horchata–which was awesome as well. All in all this place is one of my favourite restaurants in the area.
Really great Mexican food, a little more upscale than your average Mexican food restaurant. Tasted great and the drinks are so worth it! The red cactus and jalapeno margaritas are awesome! Really liked the hatch chile queso was also super yummy!!
Great food and fast service, I will definitely be back again. Pozole was great, and the carne asada plate hit the spot
A very solid mexican restaurant with all of your classics done very well. One of my favorite dishes here is the Enchiladas Mar y Tierra, which is three enchiladas all done differently. Their guac to start is delicious and a very large portion as well.
We've been eating here for many years. The food is better than ever. My longtime favorite is the pork shank. Paella Del Mar last night.
Awesome food, service, & atmosphere! Margaritas to te Seafood burrito. Everything was excellent.
Amazing atmosphere and food! The service was excellent and the food delicious. The portions are huge. My husband and I split the Rumba Quesadilla and it was more than enough. Our waitress was very polite and attentive. Highly recommend.
I had the pork shank. Flavor was on point and the presentation was amazing. Highly recommend 👌
Best Mexican food we’ve ever had, wonderful friendly staff and a very nice atmosphere to enjoy our meal.
We drive from Springfield Oregon to come eat here. The food is always fresh & hot & so many flavors. Always good service. The seafood burrito is amazing 🤩
Very nice restaurant with good staff 👍 I highly recommend 👍
Update to my original review — they redeemed themselves. Its too convenient for me to adhere to my lifetime ban. I get takeout all the time again. But I am still leaving my original review below for posterty…… original review- Been a customer since they opened. Ordered takeout all through the pandemic to support the business. today i was informed for the first time that togo orders dont come with side of chips and salsa and from now on they will require me to pay for it. my order today was over a hundred dollars. we have ordered probably 20 times or more during pandemic. i had to drive back today after picking up my order because they forgot the chips for our queso and guac. this is when i said oh and you forgot our salsa. thats when they told me about this new rule. i asked when they created this policy and he said beginning of covid. i have never once been told this policy. we always tip full 20% on our takeout orders. why would people that sit in the restaurant get chips and salsa and not takeout orders? i am mad about this. they acted as if my patronage for more than 16 years was worth nothing. its their business and they can do what they want but they will lose more than they gain with just my family not going there. they almost turned me into a karen with this stupid policy. and by the way i dont see chips and salsa on the menu.
Great happy hour! Good prices and selections.
Very nice server. Good food
Loved my Carnitas tacos, just excellent, the mole sauce was out of this world. And the bartender made me a perfect Paloma. And La Rosa has the very best happy hour in Bend!
The absolute best chili Verde ever. The flavor was amazing without being overly spiced. The pinto beans were awesome. Will definitely be back.
So good, I got another traditional margarita and took no food pictures!!! Carne asada in the burrito del mar. Verde salsa was as good as regular! Enjoy!
We go to La Rosa fairl often. The food is excellent, best Mexican food in Bend by far. Even the rice and beans are very flavorful. My favorite is the pork mole, also very tasty, and on a par with moles I have had in Oaxaca. All this and reasonable prices.
Great place for happy hour. Fresh squeezed lime in their margaritas!
Service staff was very friendly and welcoming. Our waitress, Lupe was fantastic! We ordered off of the happy hour menu. The food came out fast and hot! The red cactus margaritas are yummy 😋
My group and I dined at La Rosa in the Northwest Crossing area the other night and we were pleasantly surprised. From the blonde young lady that sat us at our table to the person who brought us our chips, salsa, and water they were so nice. Our server though, Shera was amazing! She made our dining experience that much better especially with her sense of humor. And to top it off the food was excellent! We can’t wait to come back again. Thank you!
Lovely place all around. The service is excellent, the outdoor seating is cool even when it is hot outside, and the food is always well-flavored. I have been three times now over different months. Each visit my partner and I ordered different meals and each of them was excellent. The flavors are delicious and they actually serve salsa with a little kick, which I really appreciate.
This was a really great meal. Fantastic foods and plenty of options. FINALLY! A Mexican restaurant that serves spicy salsa!! We had Fajitas and the fresh guacamole. Great outdoor patio with heat lamps also. I’d say the interior design felt lacking. Like it was supposed to be sterile and cold. Not my favorite.
Typically I like to order their Enchiladas Mar y Tierra and cocktails to go. I love the variety of the three different flavors of enchiladas. It also comes with a healthy serving of beans and rice. I will say however, that my to go cocktails were a bit on the short side last time I ordered. Other than that, great!
Great spot. Food is amazing. Definitely recommend giving this place a try. Service was great too.
this one of the nice places serving good warm food- little expensove but with nice service and smile (difficult in tourist place). we travelled for 10 hrs and landed almost at end of the day with kid and got ordered too much. But it was fine in scheme of things as we enjoyed sitting outside and having good experience
The Tamarind margarita was the best part of my experience. The sever was super nice and very attentive. I would say the grounded beef in my tacos was a bit greasy for my taste, so I would probably try a different meat next time. Great environment and people for sure!
Service was great and quick food was really tasty and looked great on arrival and was totally worth what we paid for, would come again.
The carne asada was excellent! Service and the margaritas were just okay.
Great food for reasonable prices. We had the sopa de mariscos. Full of flavor and loaded with a lot of vegetables and seafood. They also offer a happy hour menu from 2pm to 5:30. Establishment would have been a 5 but our waitress wasn’t the most friendly and was never asked for refills on our drinks if we needed anything else or simply checked on. We ate our chips and noticed that three other tables were asked if they wanted more chips and for us silence. I also asked where the restroom was and was told around the corner with an attitude. Definitely not the most friendly but very good food.
Great service and even better food. The guacamole is very good here, one of my favorites around Oregon. But if I were to recommend one dish specifically, get the Quesabirria. It was hands down the BEST Birria I've had yet. Expect to burn through napkins from the mess, but it's absolutely worth it. Next time I'm in Bend I'll be making my way back to La Rosa. Heck I may even make up an excuse to go to Bend soon just to have the Quesabirria.
Food was really good but the server didn't write down anything and mis heard one of friends and brought the wrong dinner. Didn't get the right dinner until right between had to leave to be to a show. Also didn't comp anything for the mishap and didn't ask how we were splitting the bill so they did exactly half instead of what my partner and I actually had. Not horrible, all very understandable but also not great. Really nice little place.
Came here for lunch and ordered chicken pozole. It was fine. I need to come back to give it another try.
I had the pork mole and it was greasy. Also, the spices were not quite right, too much red Chile and the chocolate was imperceptible. The chips tasted as if they were made with old oil. And I prefer thinner chips. My wife was disappointed with her chicken fajita. It didn't have the right grilled flavor she likes. The food wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Average. Oh, the margaritas was very good but with too much crushed ice for me.
LaRosa use to be the place to go for Mexican food. It is not nearly as good as it was. We hadn't been for a year and tried it again. I won't go back as there are so many other great Mexican restaurants in town. The service was good at least and the guacamole was still good.
Had fish tacos, soggy tortillas, watery, wouldn't recommend. Other menu items might be better. Chips and salsa is good, atmosphere is busy, crowded. A convenient location to NW Crossing. Friendly service.
First time did a Togo order, they don’t give cheese with fajita dinners so paid $3 for cheese and didn’t get it. Called and spoke to the manager and was supposed to get the money back but never did. Overall queso, beans and rice were good. Fajita meat was overcooked and mid. Not a bad spot for the area.
Overall this is a solid food addition to the NW Crossings area of Bend. We have already had/tried several Mexican places in Bend so if we compare the food to other places = (Burrito) the ground beef has just a bit too much liquid/sauce and it spreads throughout the plate. The Deluxe just means all other ingredients are plopped cold on the top of the burrito. The flavors are slightly above average and it is missing a bit of flavor. Chips and salsa are average. The service was excellent and the building and vibe is great. If they tinker with the flavors and quality just a bit this could go from an above average Mexican restaurant to a fantastic foodie place.
Party of 5 4 thought the food was good. Service was good. Ambience was sports bar.
Mine wasn't the only plate in the group that didn't get much action. The food was sub par and mine was just gross. I didn't eat hardly a thing and the waiter took it, noticed it, and didn't say anything or ask anything. Drinks were good. Very much a generic Mexican restaurant.
Original post: Food was great and the drinks were strong. Follow up: 2nd time there. I'm pretty sure they use a wire brush for their grill, because I pulled a piece of wire out of my mouth!
Salsa was great: nice amount of spice, a little watery, but really good…service was average…our table’s surface was really sticky…the pollo chipotle was inedible: visually gross (like wet cat food) and tasted worse (imaging thick gravy, with mayo and cheese; soggy mushrooms, no flavor other than bland creamy grease). Fajitas were not as bad, but not good: the shrimp were slightly off, guacamole was good, the jasmine rice was stale, peppers/onions were overcooked and bland…Prices were reasonable, if the food was decent; but it wasn’t... My son does not feel well since we left, even though we only ate about 5% of our meal. We usually get to-go bags if we cannot finish our food; not this time….People give this place high ratings, maybe sometimes it is good.
Quite literally the worst excuse for Mexican food I’ve ever tasted in my life. I’ve been twice because my mother-in-law dragged us, and both times the food was flavorless. It’s also pretty expensive, which is usually a red flag for a Mexican food spot. Service was fine, but not remarkable. I wasn’t expecting stellar Mexican food in Bend after growing up in LA and San Diego (I hate to be that guy), but this place is atrociously bad. I’ve heard they serve strong cocktails, so maybe that’s the draw to this place, but haven’t tried them myself. Also heard that it’s potentially under new ownership since I last visited, so maybe it has improved?
The food was great! But, the service could’ve been better.
Beware Shira a server added $10.00 to her tip after I left. She may have done this to others also. I let the manager/owner know that she stole from my account, they checked and confirmed and credited my account however she is still working there.
Everything is cheap here except for the menu. Outrageously priced for very bland food. Cheap labor - mostly high school kids. Cheap atmosphere - bland. All tables were devoid of any expense. No salt and pepper, no sauce, no extra napkins - nothing. Supply nothing - charge high prices for bland food and keep your payroll down by paying kids. It’s noticeable.
