Excellent place to eat, the sandwiches were delicious and the owner and waitress were ver kind and friendly, looking forward to coming back! Took my girlfriend there and she loved it even more than I did.

Nice and warm patio with super delicious sandwiches and fresh salad, we love this place! They will have pasta soon on the menu soon.

Heroic Italian in Berkeley is a true find! The lasagna is absolutely delicious—rich, cheesy, and full of flavor. The outdoor seating is super charming, like a little European café tucked away in the city. Friendly service and a cozy atmosphere make it a perfect spot for a relaxed meal. Highly recommend!

We decided to check out Heroic Italian in downtown Berkeley, next to the library! The outdoor patio was so relaxing on a hot summer day. If you love Italian food as much as I do, y'all need to check out Heroic Italian! Everything was so fresh and light. It's simply delicioso! OMG! OMG! The OMG sandwich was light, airy, crispy, and delicious; while the Chicken Tetrazzini Rotini pasta was light, creamy, and tasty, it was perfect with the glass of white wine. I love me a good salad, and the California Caprese salad did NOT disappoint. Not only was it beautiful, it was so refreshingly delicious! I want one now. Lastly, the Calabrian Shrimp Roman Pizza was delicious. It was my first time having a shrimp pizza- it had the perfect balance of savory and tartness. Ps. There’s a parking lot next door, and it cost the same as the street parking meter.

Heroic Italian is located next to the Downtown Berkeley Library on Kittredge Street not far from BART. There is free 2 hour parking on the street, and there is a parking garage close by. It is located on the bottom corner of a five story with lots of windows so the restaurant is filled with natural light. There is a large patio outside, so you have the choice of eating inside or out. David, the owner is friendly and loves to share about his business!!! I had an OMG sandwich to go with an Italian Bio drink. I see why it is called OMG--it was very tasty made with fresh bread, Italian meats, smoked Mozzarella, and Roasted Artichoke Spread. Yum, yum!!! They have a large variety of Italian wines to choose from to go along with sandwiches, salads, pizzas, and pastas. This is a great place to come for a taste of Italy.

And....I'll tell you why the Heroic Italian is a 5 star joint. I was just around the corner, right there on Harold Street moving my pal Tightas Bricksqueezer's daughter, Cheesah into her new place in the Clambanger Arms complex, and she says she'll spring for lunch! WOW! Was my reply...can we go to Saul's Tightas asked, Absolutely NOT! Cheesah said...We'll go to the Heroic Italian around the corner...it's the best Delicatessen in the county...the Best! Well, I don't know it's the best in the county...but Berkeley for sure! I got a simple imported ham sandwich and chips, and all I can say is it was Spectacular! ☆☆☆☆☆

Great outdoor seating with a wonderful ambiance. The food was amazing!!! Very nice staff. We liked the "seat yourself, scan to order" set up. Got the OMG Sandwich, Mount Etna Salad, and Tiramisu. Can't wait for them to open in Sacramento!!

Fabulous! Little place serving up amazing pizzas, antipasti, salads coupled with a great wine list. Friendly staff and good service. We went for an early dinner before a concert at the Greek Theater.

Such a delicious lunch spot! My wife and I had the Calabrian shrimp, followed by the OMG and chicken parm sandwich. All ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The shrimp and chicken parm both had the perfect amount of spice, so if you like a little kick, I highly recommend. The sauce served with the shrimp had such an addicting flavor. Great service, nice ambience, very sweet staff/management. We will definitely be back!

I had the OMG sandwich and OMFG was it amazing. The bread was warm, soft with a crunchy shell. Although I had just a basic meal, that’s what I love and it was made with tlc, I can tell. The staff was very friendly and I might have to come back before I leave for some pasta. I sat inside but the patio outside looks like a great option.

In town visiting and spent Valentine here for dinner! It was excellent! I had the pork lasagna and it was amazing. There were three ladies working and they held it down! We enjoyed the service and atmosphere! We will be back! Thanks ladies!

An excellent place for a quiet & delicious lunch in the sun! We got sandwiches and wine. Our food was super fresh and flavorful, the wine choices were outstanding. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and kind. This place is different from most Italian restaurants - in the best of ways. Not your typical greasy pasta and large overly cheesy main dishes. Instead, this was authentic Italian food made from high quality ingredients. Definitely our new Berkeley romantic date spot! Give it a try!

It is so crusty and airy! they know how to bake Italian bread! One thing i think could have been better is that they save some ingredients! The ratio of bread and meat vege, sauce is not that good.

The ambiance was so lovely for our party of 30! The artichoke appetizer and shrimp pizza was great as well, but both pastas (pesto, red) were disappointing. I had a wonderful time though~

The OMG was tiny and missing half the ingredients (you can see from the photo - compare to the one they have on their menu!), the bread was so-so. The chicken tetrazzini pasta was bland, the pasta overcooked, and the mushrooms soggy. $15-20 a dish?! Never again.
