Opinions de Oh G Burger/Chimmelier Berkeley
We loved our entire experience. Definitely recommend the Korean seasoned fries, bulgogi burger, Warriors breakfast burger, and traditional smash burger. It’s a fast casual spot with outdoor and indoor seating in the cutest street of Berkeley. We enjoyed walking around after and the friendly neighborhood. We would absolutely be back!
This spot deserves some love! They have a split menu between smash burgers and Korean street food. I stopped there with my bike group and got myself the cauliflower nuggets, yang yum sauce and kimchi fried rice. I’m a sucker for fried cauliflower and the breading did not disappoint. The kimchi fried rice had an incredible smoky depth of flavor and spice and it may just be the best I’ve ever had…I don’t think I can make fried rice WITHOUT kimchi now. My buddy passed around some cheese curds and I’m probably going back for more of those today. Service from FOH was excellent; I only docked a star on service because the poor man needs help! They’ve got a hiring sign up; hopefully they can snag someone to help them close. The food was well worth waiting for, though. My partner was out of town last night so we’ll be back soon…thanks guys for making me sweat! I’m rebuilding my spice tolerance and you are helping 😅🙏🏻
OG Burger on Solano is absolutely worth the stop. I asked the gentleman behind the counter what he would order for himself, and he recommended the double bulgogi burger. I told him to make it the way he would for himself, and it came out dialed in. What stood out is that it was not a standard American smashburger. Instead of the usual profile, it leaned into Korean fusion flavors. The bulgogi added a deep, savory sweetness that worked perfectly with the crispy smashed patties. It felt intentional and different in a good way. He gave me a light sauce on the side that paired extremely well. I did not catch the name, but it had a vinaigrette style tang that balanced the richness of the meat and brought everything together. I also ordered the loaded fries, and they were just as strong. As far as smashburger spots go, this one separates itself by doing something different and doing it well. I would definitely have it again.
Outstanding burger with outstanding service! I have been craving a really good burger for a while. My standard places (Five Guys or Habit) just haven’t been doing it for me. I was in the Berkeley/Albany area and decided this would be a good time to try a different burger place. Oh G Burger x Chimmelier was the best rated burger place in the area that I was in. It was also the most out of the way. But I never been to that area so I decided to go for an adventure. I am very happy that I did! 😃 I ordered the standard double smash burger with Oh G sauce and tater tots. The burger was thoroughly greasy in the best way possible! A hamburger is not health food. A good hamburger should be 20% fat and thus greasy. This is an outstanding hamburger! And I’m so glad that other reviews mentioned the tater tots. They were fluffy, crunchy pillows of potato delight. 🥹 I had forgotten how wonderful a tater tot can be! And the burger and tater tots together were just over $18 before tip. That’s right in line with what I pay at the other places I go, but this is a far superior burger. I will be back again, hopefully soon. An unexpected plus was the outstanding person working the front of the restaurant , Nivea (pronounced Ni-VAY-ah, NOT like the hand lotion). I’m a very observant person and my work involves increasing productivity (nerd alert!), and I developed as habit of observing how people do their work, especially in service jobs. Sadly, it seems that most people working in customer service jobs today have little to no interest in serving customers. That is not the case with Nivea. I came in at 7 PM on a Sunday night, so it was late in the shift the restaurant was full. She greeted me quickly and with genuine warmth and a smile. When I asked where the restroom was, she gave me clear instructions and also warned me that it might be a little wet in there. I watched her move around rapidly, serving all the different customers. Then she took the opportunity to clean up the restroom, then she was back filling up the water, pitcher moving rapidly to get it done quickly. When a large group that was seated at the counter, asked her what type of ice cream was used in the milkshake because they really liked it, she went to the back and got the information. I think there were only three workers in the restaurant at that time, two in the kitchen and Nivea in the front of the house. That’s a lot of work and responsibility to be on one person and most people in food service would not manage it, but she handled it with grace. I’ve never met Nivea before, I just think it’s important to recognize outstanding work whenever I see it, as it is becoming increasingly rare. She was totally caught off guard when I told her what I thought about her work. The group seated at the counter agreed with my observation that Nivea is an excellent server and worker. Nivea, if you happen to read this, there are many jobs in and out of customer service where your positive energy and diligence will take you far. Don’t sell yourself short. And to other restaurant owners in the Berkeley/Albany area: if you’re looking for a good food server, come by Oh G Burger x Chimmelier, and ask is Nivea is working. If she is, order some food, sit down, and enjoy the food and the service.
EVERY SINGLE ITEM IS A MUST TRY! I cannot believe every single food on the menu hit, even ones I thought I wouldn’t like. It’s a relatively small and cozy joint, with awesome art decor and great staff. They have two types of selections you can choose from: either Korean fried wings from Chimmelier or burgers from Oh G Burger. The Korean fried wings were so crispy and the flavors were so good. We went with butter honey and omfg spicy dry rub (which are flavors I usually don’t get) and it was SO good and crispy. Even when we box leftovers and at it the next two days, IT STILL HIT and was crispy! The burgers, fries, and sandwiches all had a bit of Korean infused flavors and all were so good. I am not a huge kimchi fan so I didn’t think I’d like the kimchi sandwich but omg that was fire. Everything else also tasted so good, I was so impressed. My friends got the breakfast burrito that I didn’t try but they swear it’s the best breakfast burrito they’ve had haha. Overall, great service, awesome vibes, and amazing food. 10/10 would come back and I’ve recommended this place to my friends!
Hidden cripsy korean chicken! This place is such a vibe. I finally got the chance to eat here after watching an Instagram reel about an influencer reviewing this place. I was greeted from what looks like the owner. He managed to handle incoming orders and people who were curious about this place. In order to try different flavors, you must pay for two orders. I got soy garlic & honey butter with a side of corn cheese. Iced water is provided. I must say, you are given with gloves if you do not want to get your hands sticky. The chicken was crispy and the corn cheese was very cheesy that it was delicious with the chicken! I ended up finishing the chicken with my girlfriend and her cousins. This was great, thanks! Located on a busy street with street parking depending on availability.
Creative combinations that made for a delicious meal!! I had the Kimchi Grilled Cheese and loved the combination of kimchi with the cheese and sourdough. My sister had the Bulgogi Burger which she really enjoyed - perfectly crispy and grilled. Also the service was top notch and super friendly. Glad to have this spot in the neighborhood! (:
Super excited to try out this Korean fried chicken spot! It shares a location/kitchen with Oh G Burger which I will have to try another time. Great service. There's limited table seating but also bar seating inside. Outside there are tables shared with the Peet's next door. After tip, our order was $100 which felt a little high but fully fed 4 adults with leftovers. I would come back The food really hit the spot and was delicious. -8 piece wings in soy garlic: super crunchy and flavorful! One flavor per 8 pieces -Medium popcorn chicken in OMG (signature dry rub): really enjoyed this flavor and you get a big portion of the popcorn chicken -Corn cheese: super cheesy and delicious. Good portion size -Tteokboki: not favorite flavor (personal preference) but still tasty -Shrimp toast: served cut up in bite size pieces and perfect for sharing. Perfectly toasted and flavored -Seasoned fries: good fries
Omg this place is so good!! The k-chicken burger had a delicious bun and crispy chicken. Also tried the seasoned fries, cheese curds, and k-popcorn chicken jr. with honey butter. Everything came out fresh and super crispy. The staff was welcoming and the vibes were good with warm lighting and old cartoons playing. Def coming back to try the rest of the menu
Our first time here and we loved it! Had a Wagyu burger, K-Chicken burger and seasoned fries. Everything was delicious! Served piping hot. Fast, friendly service. Can’t wait to return.
had the seasoned fries and the Buldak chicken burger. Not only is the Buldak sauce on the burger taste amazing (perfect amount of spice for the Buldak label!), but also the sauce is made in house. The chicken itself is great as well.

The Wagya burger was Divine. Oh and cheese curds 💛 A perfect hole in the wall. :)
Casual spot with comfort "street" korean food. They were slammed on a Friday night and cranked out orders like a well oiled machine while staying polite and kind to diners, door dashers and take out-ers. Solid fried chicken and cheese corn. Fried rice a bit on the wet side served in a Ramen container which was fun. Limited bar and table seating. Overall yummy, good vibes. Will return!
The food was spicy but it was really good. It was a good place to come with friends. once we settled in seat got food they gave us fries for free. Im student and i think it’s prefect to come hang out to. i highly recommend buying burgers or k-streets food.

This place is pretty good. Small, can be self order from a screen or they can take your order at the register. Ive been about 3 or 4 times now and they seem to struggle a little when they get a little traffic. The place is small, so I understand how easily it can get a little busy . The guy who's usually there at the register and brings the food is pretty nice, but I can tell one of the cooks is off. Just small things I've noticed the few times I've been there. I think the kitchen could have more consistency, but ultimately the burgers have always tasted good. Ive wanted to try the chicken sandwich, but the breading looks a little too much in the " the breading might be fried too hard" department. But it looks good. 🤦🏽♀🤷🏽♀️ Im still going to plan to go here , I'll just have to be specific before ordering. Its a good burger and its not too far from my house and theres not many good burgers in that area.
Cool vibe inside and quick service. The fried chicken sandwich was really good and had a nice tangy umami sauce on it. The bulgogi burger also was good but if I had to choose between the two, I like the fried chicken sandwich more.
Stopped by for an elite event to try the K Chicken Sandwich combo and had a great first visit! I got the calamansi spicy water, seasoned fries, and of course, the k chicken sandwich. Chris, the manager, took our order and gave us the full menu rundown. He is super friendly and helpful! Great customer service, that really stood out! The chicken was fried and well-seasoned, but personally I could have used some sauce and heat to bring it to life. Still tasty though. And my wife made a comment that the fries tasted like Voodoo Chips. Now, we love those chips, so this was a bang! All around, it was a solid first visit. The Buldak Chicken Burger and those spicy dry rub wings are calling my name. Looking forward to coming back and giving this spot a full try before giving my final verdict. So far, so good! Great vibes and solid service all around!
This is a cute, combination restaurant along Solano ave: a burger and fried chicken (chicken + sommelier for the name) place. I tried the Korean fried chicken and it was tasty! 8 wings, a side of fries, and a drink for ~$25. Fries were seasoned, slightly spicy, fresh, and tasty. Chicken was tasty, but a bit bready and with some cartilage. Vibes were fine but maybe 15 total seats including a couple tables outside, a stool/bar up against the kitchen and music was groovy but a bit loud. Manager was nice and helped me through the menu. Would come here again!
Lovely burger spot in Berkely!! They also have chicken but I got mine not so juicy and small but the burger is solid.

good impossible smash burger ,comes w mushrooms and avocado .was about 15 bucks Wich is kinda expensive for a burger imo but it was a good lunch for my work day . Indoor and outdoor seating available
Pplresentation and food were definitely solid. The burger was juicy, onion rings were crisp, and everything came out looking picture-perfect. That said, the price is hard to swallow. Nearly $40 for just a burger, onion rings, and a soda feels steep, even by Bay Area standards. Good quality, but not sure it justifies the cost.
I ordered a double cheeseburger and an order of tots for a little over 23 bucks, so I expected something really special. The burger was dry, and salty. I would have paid 10 at in n Out and would have had a juicer burger with fresh cut fries. Just my honest opinion.
I’ve been here three times and have gotten stomach aches both times, unfortunately. :( I told myself I wouldn’t come back after the first time, but i was hungry and it was close with no line. I got the chicken fried sandwich and fries- and it was WAY too much fried fried fried dryness on top of dry, heavy seasoning that was way too salty and really just hurt my stomach afterward. It sounds like it would be delicious, and it ought hot to be, but it was way too dry, way too heavy on ‘seasoning’, and just too much. The staff was great and friendly, but the food not so much, unfortunately.

We ordered the OG chicken and yangyeom chicken and it was off the mark unfortunately. Having lived in Korea for ten years, yangyeom is something to endulge in but the sauce used here was too heavy on the chili flavor and not balanced right. The OG chicken badder had a strong flour flavor and not very seasoned.
The tater tots are crispy, but they have no flavor at all. If I closed my eyes, I wouldn't know what I was eating. Same with the chicken -- there is no flavor. The portions are big, but it doesn't make up for the lack of flavor. I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately, I won't be back.
