Dentro de las muchas posibilidades hosteleras que tiene La Plaza Nueva de Bilbao, Iturriza Taberna resultó ser un buen acierto. Pequeñita, con una oferta variada y sabrosa, combinando tanto pintxos como platos, y una bodega escasa aunque con alguna sorpresa. Precios ajustados y un equipo humano amable aunque sea detrás de un cristal. Para repetir.

Sitio muy agradable para estar de pintxos!! Hemos ido por tercera vez ya en nuestras vacaciones… destacar los pintxos de Wakame con pisto, las gildas, el pintxo de sardina, el de croqueta de jamón (casera…)… realmente es difícil escoger con cual te quedas 🤤

El lugar se encuentra en la Plaza Nueva de Bilbao. El local es acogedor y el personal es muy atento con una amabilidad y sentimiento hogareño. Las patatas bravas estaban fantásticas. Poco aceitosas y crujientes. Las salsas fueron lo mejor ya que la alioli estaba muy buena mientras que la roja tenía un punto que parecía venir de alguna receta italiana. Nos atendieron muy rápido y el vino recomendado por la propia camarera tenía un final meloso muy rico. Es un local muy recomendable para venir.

Nos llamó la atención la barra de pintxos que tienen. Variedad y con una apariencia buenísima. Es de agradecer que cada pintxo tenga un cartel indicando qué es y su precio. Cogimos 5 pintxos: croqueta de idiazabal, de txipirón y de jamón, tortita de bacalao y ensaladilla de cangrejo. Muy buenos, sobre todo las croquetas. Mi sorpresa fue cuando llegué a casa, miré el ticket y me habían cobrado un pintxo de más. En la foto se ven los 5 pintxos en el plato y el ticket con los 6 cobrados. Suelo fiarme de los sitios y a veces te llevas sorpresas desagradables. Edito: le había dado 4 estrellas. Subo mi puntuación a 5⭐ porque no es justo. La calidad de los pintxos es muy buena y todos nos podemos equivocar.

Perfect place to taste various pinchos in the heart of Bilbao. They offer also tapas which you can order in smaller or bigger portions. Worth to mention that people there are very helpful & willing to give reccomendations. Will come back there in figurę ;)

A typical Basque restaurant with excellent pintxos. I tried several different typical snacks. They were all excellent. The service was fast and friendly. Considering the hot day, the cold beer served was a real refreshment. A pleasant stop while exploring the old center of Bilbao.

Lovely tapas bar with great food and service. Went on Sunday evening when a lot of the more renowned bars were closed so somewhat stumbled across this one. Proved to be a great find. Great selection of tapas and great quality wines and beers. Recommended

Great experience! The staff don't speak English but they are lovely. The pintxos are between €1.70-2.40 which is standard price. You can order 10 pintxos for €1.70 which is great for groups! I loved the baby squid pintxos

Excellent service. The staff is very friendly and speak English, French and I heard them speaking other languages too. I arrived at around 2pm and it was full! But the waiting time was 5 to 10min and it was totally worthy. The food was great, the music relaxing and the atmosphere was lively. I will definitelly go tomorrow again. The Sangria was perfect. I recommend to sit in the tables outside because it is fresher.

A small cozy place with lovely ambiance located on a small square in the old part of Bilbao called Casco Viejo. The two young men behind the bar were friendly and polite. They have a good selection of pinxtos (the Basque version of tapas) for both vegetarian and non vegetarian food lovers. Delicious! Most pinxtos were quite a large portion. Consider a few of these pinxtos equal to a main dish so no need to have dinner afterwards. When in Basque country, do try delicious pinxtos. You'll find them at every bar 🍸 offering a large variety of flavours, tastes and textures.

Good place to try some pintxos. It is located within a square with various other tabernas. The food and service is good. It`s a shame we had to share our bench with cockroaches. The portions are also on the smaller side.

Some of the best fried calamari I have ever ate in my life. Honestly we didn’t try any pintxos, even if so of them looked and smelled amazing. Even so I glad we tried the calamari. We had to wait for a bit for them to prepare them, as they were not on display as the pintxos but it worth the wait. The plate of calamari we received simply vanished in max. 2 minutes. I highly recommend trying this. Also tried here the red mosto, which is slightly particular because normally in any place in Bilbao you would get white one. Mosto is a really refreshing, tasty, sweet, non alcoholic drink. Highly recommend picking some pintxos or calamari and a drink and eating it in Plaza Nueva, really magical.

Great service and pintxos. Located in plaza Nueva is not easy to find a spot especially if it’s raining but we managed and it didn’t disappointed.

Las tapas muy ricas pero nos confundimos al coger el plato de 10 pintxos y las cogimos por libre, lo pregunté pero no tuvieron el detalle de hacer una excepción y cobrarnos al precio de los 10 pintxos. El argumento que nos dieron fue que habíamos cogido tapas repetidas y en la oferta entra una de cada una....... Querer es poder...y no quisieron.

Lo mejor la cerveza, Alhambra. La atención bien, salvo que éramos un grupito de 8 y parecía que teníamos que pedir cada 10 minutos para que no nos invitaran a irnos. Se podría mejorar el trato con los clientes sobre todo del chico, pero en general bien ya que son rápidos en servir, los pinchos con variedad y precios normales.

Pintxos were not bad but the bread i think was there just for display. I though we were supposed to eat the whole thing but those bread bits were so hard they were probably made out of paper... Not a good experience. Seemed like we were being server yesterday's leftovers. The staff was wonderful though.

Local con variedad de pintxos en barra. Probamos dos croquetas, la de idiazabal y la de chipiron. Ninguna de las dos estaba cremosa, una pena por 2,70€ el pintxo. Además las sirvieron en una bandeja de cartón que nada más dárnoslas se venció por el peso cayéndose uno de los pintxos. Se lo comentamos a la camarera quien nos dio otro pero cobrándonos de nuevo. Servicio mejorable. Desde luego, nosotros no volveremos, no esperábamos ese trato.

The food is poor. In particular, the Ten Basque Pintxos is a dish to avoid. Six out of the ten Pintxos are really bad, not proper Basque food and they are clearly overpriced for what you get. A real pity since the waiters are nice and the atmosphere is good.

Los pintxos muy regulares. El servicio pésimo. Tres camareras súper maleducadas, riéndose de los clientes, pues gritan al hablar y criticar. Muy mal ambiente. Ni saludar, ni gracias ni nada

Al llegar nos pusimos en el centro de la barra y había 3 camareros: la chica de "nuestra zona" ni nos miraba cuando la teníamos cara a cara llamando su atención para que nos tomase nota. Fuimos pacientes viendo la cantidad de gente que había y el ritmo que llevaban, pero al ver que atendían a personas recien llegadas a los extremos, nos empezamos a sentir ignorados intencionadamente. Pensamos en irnos, pero tuvimos suerte en encontrar sitio sentados, no conocíamos la zona y estaba bastante concurrida. Conseguimos llamar la atención del chico de la zona izquierda de la barrra, y nos dijo que nos atendiese su compañera, le dijimos que no nos atendía y con un gesto de cabeza y hombros nos dejó claro que no era su problema y que no le importaba. A pesar de ese gesto desafortunado, tuvo la decencia de llamar la atención a su compañera y decirle que nos atendiese. Tras ser atendidos por fin, y empezar a comer, necesitamos pedir más bebida, ya eran 4 camareros y nos pasó exactamente lo mismo: todos pasaban por delante, y si se paraban delante no te respondían... y cuando por fin logramos que "nos oiga" la nueva camarera que salió, nos dijo "ahora no puedo" con un gesto de hartazgo y negación con la cabeza y pasó de largo. A los 2 o 3 minutos nos pudo atender el chico del otro extremo de la barra. En cuanto a la comida, la bola de queso era solamente bechamel con queso por encima, los pintxos de tortilla sí estaban muy buenos. En resumen: pésimo servicio, ya sea por mala gestión porque se necesiten más camareros o por mala educación de los mismos al sentirse desbordados, que no se dignan en contestar y si lo hacen te hablan mal; por mucho agobio o clientela que se tenga, qué mínimo que contestar y contestar bien a alguien que te está hablando, y además que te está hablando correctamente. Comida bastante normal tirando a básica. La verdad es que no es nada recomendable.
