Great service, big portions, good coffee ☕ Food was okay, hard to expect something really Italian taste in so small village, kind of 'Olive garden' but much warmer cozy atmosphere.

The pasta, soup, and salad were so tasty. I had a craving for a good soup, and this exceeded my expectations. Service was good. There is a very nice atmosphere here. You can dine inside or outside.

We had a great dinner. Spaghetti with carrot cake for desert. The bread was also really good. I tried one of their mocktail’s. Also really good. Service was amazing. Very enjoyable and tasty dinner. They just opened and we will definitely go back. They did a great job remodeling the place too.

I just want to make a comment about this place. First of all our server and our service was extraordinary. Luke is the best. the drinks the food was extraordinary. Will absolutely be coming back.

My wife and I ended up at the Pergola after a disappointing experience at a restaurant down the street. This was our lucky day. The Pergola was just what we needed. The food was fantastic. We shared a carne pizza and a plate of the pesto farfalle. The pizza was a wonderful thin crust pizza that was crispy and had just the right amount of toppings. The farfalle was cooked perfectly and tasted like fresh pasta. The wine list was also extensive and we split a bottle of wine. The carrot cake desert and coffee where also wonderful. The server we had, Luke, was spot on. We definitely will make this a regular stop when we visit BB.

This family-owned business offers excellent food and service - what an outstanding addition to the Village. It's only been open for a couple/few weeks, but I've gone twice for dinner and recommended it to many others. The lasagna was perfect, the uncut olive oil is delicious, the Mista salad was fresh, and the homemade gorgonzola dressing perfect (I mixed it with the vinaigrette, and it was unbelievable). The menu is not extensive, but that's a plus to me - that way everything is fresh and high quality. I stopped in today to get a cappuccino - Illy brand - so good (see photo of coffee bar). The staff is super friendly and attentive. They did a fantastic job on the remodel - it's beautiful, clean, bright, welcoming. Can't wait to go back, and since I'm a local, that will be soon.

Would come back again. Food was perfect and delicious. Beautifully remodeled inside. Friendly staff. Owner was super sweet. Highly recommend. Prepare to wait. It’s a super busy weekend. But it’s worth it.

What a welcome addition to the village! We went on our way out of town and brought our four-year-old with us. Lovely and helpful staff, great food, and excellent drinks. Great design. Reminds us of Italy. We had the kid’s pasta, fungi pizza, tiramisu, sangria, and red wine. Truly all superb. My wife said she’d love if they had Himalayan pink salt at the tables instead of regular table salt.

Top notch food and service. We started out with Lombardy Sangrias which were very refreshing. The mista salad was fresh and light. The chicken piccata smelled heavenly and was so delicious and flavorful. We ended with a divine tiramisu! Highly recommend this place. Service was friendly and attentive

Nice and new restaurant to the village. I had the Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo and the wife had the Chicken Cacciatore. Perfect dinner size portions. Great waiter and bus staff. Owner was in and greeting all the patrons, locals and visitors alike.

Wow! What a transformation! The new owners have done a fabulous transformation to this restaurant! It is open and airy just like you were in an Italian Trattoria. Very friendly staff and excellent service. My favorite menu item, which is a true surprise, is the Funghi pizza! So delicious and full of flavor. Nice selection of wine and drinks. We sat outside and enjoyed the sunny weather. You are also able to order to go as well. We will be back again.

Sat on beautiful new patio. So nice, relaxing with lights strung on new pergola cover, curtains flowing in breeze, fountain. Great menu, food, service, and atmosphere ! Outside dining also beautiful but we'd eaten indoors last visit. Weather was perfect to dine outside.

Excellent restaurant. Good and fast service. Wait staff was friendly. Food was excellent. We split the lasagna plate which was huge. Also had a side order of cheesy garlic bread. Also very good. The outdoor patio is a must do.

I went to this restaurant a few years ago when we stay in Big Bear and still think about this place weekly because it was so amazing! The iced caramel macchiato was the best coffee I’ve ever had in my life and I’m someone who drinks coffee at local shops everywhere I go. The food was are incredible. My friends and I all got different dishes and shared because there were so many good options. I loved the pizza and fettuccine were good but I LOVED the shrimp scampi! Even the spaghetti one of my friends got was good and I usually hate spaghetti. The tiramisu was also to die for! I’d honestly go back to big bear just to eat there and get that macchiato.

Our waiter, Donald, was amazing! He was personable, kind, and just the right amount of checking in. He gave his recommendations, was on top of it, and just a good guy. Amazing food, great atmosphere and fantastic service— will definitely be back!

Contrary to what all the negative reviews say we had a pleasant experience with the party of 12. Our servers retentive, appetizers were delivered extremely timely with the food following shortly after. The chicken piccata, shrimp, scampi, and the Una meatball were delicious. We will definitely be coming back next year.

At first, I was a bit leery of dining here because of bad reviews on yelp but decided to give it a shot. Very pleased I did! Beautiful interior & exterior! I chose to sit outside because it was a beautiful day and the patio is stunning. Serene waterfall against the back wall was a really nice touch as well as the flowing drapes and nice marble table tops with very comfortable cushion seats. Nice quality paper napkins as well. My server was Donald and he was very, very attentive and knowledgeable. A nice affable gentleman. I started with a nice glass of red unshackled prisoner wine and it was just lovely. Nice and dry with some lovely tannins. I then had the steamed artichoke and it was the best I have ever had. The gremolata they pour over it was loaded in lovely fresh herbs and garlic , and the side serving sauce of lemon mayonnaise was out of this world. I had to take a little container of it home. And then I went on to the chicken piccata, but did not want the pasta as a bed so I chose the seasoned vegetables and they were lovely. I love garlic and everything had just a right amount of it! Chicken was tender. Even the little side insalata misto was perfection. Just the right amount of light zesty vinaigrette with some Kalamata olives and a lot of shaved Parmesan. Prices are not inexpensive, but you get some really flavorful tasty unctuous dishes with decent portions and a lovely atmosphere and fabulous service. So sometimes you get where you pay for. My only complaint is the 3% charge for using a credit card. I considered leaving my server 17% because of that but decided against it because he was wonderful. But come on! Highly recommend.

While visiting the area myself & family from the area were fortunate to have the opportunity to visit this establishment . We were immediately greeted & welcomed by the amazing staff upon arrival. I had called ahead due to having a larger party (7 people), and they were happy to accommodate our party. In fact, they had our table ready upon arrival. I can't say enough of the fabulous experience our amazing experience our waitress provided us. As many realize in CA, good customer service is few and far between, so finding amazing customer service is a rarity. She was not just kind and patient with our larger party but knowledgeable about the establishment and knew the menu to a tee. Which I find is beyond helpful while on a first dining experience at a restaurant. Our waitress never let our drinks go dry and was there remarkably every time we needed anything.I can't say enough good about her and the personable dining experience she provided us. When our orders were brought to the table, they were wonderfully displayed and prepared. At a perfect temperature 🌡 and every bite was delicious 😋 Everyone in our party had a great time and experience. We couldn't help but check out eachothers meals as each was prepared beautifully. Wish I could remember our dear waitresses' name to give her a shout-out! Sorry! If in the area, definitely give this establishment a visit. A must visit dining experience for this area as options of this type are limited.

We had a lovely time at La Pergola, but we ended up here because we didn’t have reservations and could not get in to the restaurant we wanted. The staff was very nice, but not very knowledgeable when it comes to wine. My gf Merlot was actually hot. 🥵 She loved her beef carpaccio and I loved the vegetarian pasta. We sat outside which was lovely.

Delicious Italian food with great service in a wonderful setting. Plenty of seating indoors and out. Everything was clean, we were prompt like seated and our server and host stopped by several times to make sure everything was taken care of. Not cheap, but overall a good value, impressive during a time of supply chain and labor challenges. Plenty of parking nearby in downtown Big Bear. We'll definitely be back.

I go up to big bear lake often but I usually cook for my woman. This weekend we met up with some of our friends and decided to eat out for dinner. She recommended this Italian restaurant and it didn't disappoint. Very gracious hostess and server. They exceeded my expectations, even though we had a party of 8. Food was delicious and very good portions. No one left hungry. Only 4 of us were able to share desserts. Some plates are pricier but you can eat well for under 20 a person.

My wife looked up best brunch in Big Bear and this restaurant came up. I have to say I agree! Our server Amy was amazing and made great suggestions. The drinks were incredible, both the hot mocha and the Bloody Mary. The food was amazing, I had the Frittata Di Zucchine, my wife had the Avocado Toast and we shared the Zeppole (Italian Donuts). We will definitely return when we are in Big Bear again.

My husband and I decided to take a mini break up in Big Bear. We were looking at places for dinner on our first night here and happened upon this lovely establishment. All I can say is that this restaurant presents with wonderful, friendly, service as well as great music! Probably the best Italian food I’ve had in a while. I ordered the Cappellini Al Pomodoro with grilled chicken and it just melted in my mouth. The caprese salad was delicious as well, not to mention the cheese bread! My husband was also pleased with his meal. Our server was attentive and lovely! It was a very pleasant experience. I would highly recommend La Pergola Trattoria!

This is the best place in Big Bear, hands down. I’m a local and this spot is the business. The staff were all amazing, very warm, kind, helpful and they were so loving with my little baby walking all over the place. The drinks…I can die happy now. I got the limoncello cocktail which was refreshing and fabulous and my partner had the tiramisu cocktail which was very impressive. For food we had the funghi (mushroom) pizza which was delicious. The tiramisu was good although I’m used to the lady fingers being more saturated it was still delicious and nice to know it was made in house. The seating is great with lots of indoor and outdoor options. There’s a whole section in the back where you could have a fancy banquet dinner - I’m already trying to find something to celebrate and invite all of my friends to. Loved it and I can’t wait to visit again to explore more menu items!

Idk why this place only has 3.9 stars. Food was fantastic. Bread, Olive oil and balsamic are delicious. Shrimp scampi sauce is so light and fresh. Carpaccio is the best my sis has ever had. And the espresso and gelato are great. Also Donald was a super friendly and very informative server. Might come back tonight to eat again. A bit pricey, but that's Big Bear and it was all worth it! Also great selection of hot tea. And ours was over $100 with three people with three entrees, drinks and dessert.

This was the best meal we had in BBL. We went on a Friday night an hour before they closed and we still experienced friendly service (shout out to our server Lily who was so nice!). We ordered the bruschetta burrata, insalata mista, margherita pizza and capellini al pomodoro. The only minor complaint I had was that we weren’t able to order a cappuccino after our meal because the machine had already been broken down, but it was after closing so it’s understandable. Highly recommend this place for a good meal! That’s hard to find in BBL, in my opinion.

Charming Spot, Delicious Food, and Outstanding Service We recently dined at La Pergola and were thoroughly impressed. The location is perfect, nestled in the heart of The Village, which was beautifully decorated with Christmas lights during our visit. It added a lovely touch to the overall ambiance. We were blown away by the service – truly 5-star quality! The staff was attentive, friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The food was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the Pasta Alfredo Di Verde, which was a pleasant surprise. It wasn't something we would typically order, but it was recommended, and we were not disappointed! We were so full from our meal that we couldn't resist taking a cannolo to go. And let me tell you, it was a great decision! We devoured it later, and it was the perfect sweet treat to end our experience. Overall, La Pergola provided a wonderful dining experience. The combination of delicious food, impeccable service, and charming location makes it a must-visit when in Big Bear. We highly recommend it!

Food was ok. Had the shrimp scampi and pizza. Took a while to take our order, long wait for food, and had to look for server to get the check. Never have I had a shrimp scampi sooo cheesy and very salty. The presentation was nice but food was mediocre. I forgot to take photos until almost finished but you can see how much cheese there was. I scraped some off onto the side dish.

Pizza is delicious, and the fries are good too. The pizza could use more flavor—the sauce is a little bland, but adding crushed pepper helps. The fries could use more of garlic-truffle seasoning. For $14 fries, there is not enough of the toppings (see photos). Note: service dogs are not allowed inside.

We arrived at 5. Place was empty, table was readily available. Things were going well until we opened the menu and read there was an 18% charge on parties over 6, a 3% charge for credit cards and bill splitting was not an option for parties over 6. Beadstick were hard and cold. Shrimp Scampi noodles tasted store bought, imitation parmesson cheese on the table. We were not offered fresh parmesson It's was our friends 55th birthday and when the waitress heard that, she brought us the dessert menu offering for us to purchase him one. Service was great but the food was mediocre at best especially for the price. Total bill was almost $300 for 6 people.

K

The staff was all right a lot of people just standing around talking. Surprisingly that did not offer any bread which is a common thing for an Italian restaurant. We ordered pizza that was burnt a panini sandwich that was terrible and fried calamari that was so chewy was hard to eat. Probably one of the worst restaurants I've been to up here period would not recommend.

Arrogant staff! We read the reviews but decided to give it a try anyways. The lady at the front was actually super nice and our waitress, Michelle was nice. We ordered and everything appeared to be doing well. We got our drinks relatively quickly. After 30 minutes we got our first appetizers. My wife ordered a Lemoncello Spritz (not Santa Margarita Spritz with Lemoncello), and the drink came but had barely any lemoncello. My wife took long before deciding she was not enjoying the drink. (this was our mistake, she should have immediately mentioned this to the waitress) WHen she was half way the drink, she told me she could barely taste the limoncello. So I encourage her to mention this to our waitress nonetheless. So we asked Michelle if she could fix it (by adding more Lemoncello) and she went to the bar and came back and bluntly said "that was the recipe", and they had cameras to prove they had poured their recipe in the cocktail, and if she wanted more she would have to pay for another shot of Lemoncello. (THey use Villa Massa Lemon Liquor, which a bottle costs 27 USD, so a splash of it to fix our instasifaction would have been minimal cost). Also, the fact that that is their recipe, and they have cameras to prove they did it correctly is entirely irrelevant. I have had 2 restaurants, and a spirits business myself, when a costumer asks for a drink fix, you dont hesitate. We thought it was completely out of line, specially for a restaurant that is priced as if you were in a super expensive restaurant in New York. So we took the hit, and waited, and waited and waited for the rest of our food. Our three children were hungry, tired and desperate to get our food. So my wife, after the experience with square by the book minded waitress Michelle, stood up and went to ask to the Manager Cora about our food as we had waited for more than one hour for 2 pizzas and one pasta. Instead of descalating as a savy manager should do, she rudely told her that there were times for food to be made and that when the food was ready they would serve it. This of course, made my wife feel bad. She came back later to the table (Cora), a bit more calmed, (still with a weird face) and said the food was almost ready, this is a restaurant that sells a lasagna for 35 dollars! Michelle later came back again to check if the food was alright. I now know it was Cora the one that decided it would not make sense to splash a bit of Lemoncello to fix my wife's drink too. ALthough we understand this is their busiest time of the year, you would expect they prepare accordingly with additional staff to make sure you dont have to wait that long for your food. Again, please keep in mind they charge super high prices so expect super high service, right? Another unusual fact, is that they charge a 3% fee for using your debit or credit card to pay. I guess I would be ok in Costco, where margings are so tight that not doing so would really affect their profitability, but not in an expensive restaurant. Anyways, You would expect much better service and empathy from Cora, the General Manager! Not coming back ever, nor do we recommend the management. Pizza was very good, the pasta was pretty average but the experience in general was not good because of how Cora handled the whole situation.

Ordered calamari, pasta and pizza. Calamari was good. Pasta was ok, too much pesto making it taste a bit greasy but overall it wasn't too bad. But pizza tasted not fresh, like it was made on sour dough, it was impossible to eat and why would you eat something spoiled. When I ask our server if they making pizza on sour dough he relied "No" dough is regular. The pizza doesn't taste fresh at all, it feels like mold, Please remove it from my check in don't want to pay for it, I only bite it once- i said. Server told me that they don't do discounts if we start on our food. I tell him that pizza taste wrong and spoiled, and I ask if he can call manager and remove the pizza charge from my check. He said he's the manager and that they never remove items from the bill. So they never remove it from my check, they provide $6 discount from my $80 check and start all the drama. Server snap the picture to his phone that dough is fresh and labeled, but I was not trying to argue, proof a point or start a drama, all I wanted is have a good time at local Italian restaurant, eat good food and enjoy beautiful evening. Idk why it was so hard for you guys to admit that your food was not fresh and remove it from my bill.

Plenty of tables available, but made us wait for an hour for a table of 5. They sat many customers that came in after us. Could've moved a couple tables together outside earlier where they eventually sat us. My son ordered Fettuccine Alfredo but server brought out wrong dish, even before he received the salad. Said it would take awhile to redo order or he could just take the mistake as it was her favorite. Son decided to just eat the mistake as we were all served and didn't want to wait. When the Bill came the mistake cost more than the ordered Fettuccine. Asked to be compensated at least to the original order. Server asked manager and they said "well you ate it". Crazy no apologies or anything. Very disappointed!

Horrible service and horrible food. Unfortunately, they automatically took the gratuity because of the party of 6. Server never came to follow up. We had to be getting up to ask the front desk for refills. Another table was sat all Caucasian and they had the best service and food delivered fast. We waited over an hour just to be seated then another hour for them to bring out a pizza. The server was very rude and had an attitude. Never again.

Went there, and were totally snubbed! We walked into the patio, with our dogs, like we always do and were told there was a wait and we had to leave. There was no wait. Was also told there was someone waiting for our table. There were 8 empty tables. We left and watched for 15 minutes and no one sat at the table! Bunch of snobs! Will never eat there again!
