First off let me say come on... black female business...yyyeeessss!!! The ambiance is nice, music vibe is nice. It's spacious and open not crowded and cluttered. Table service was top tier. Now I will say a few of the dishes were not my fave (appetizer wise) we were there later in the day close to closing so I understand. I will go back earlier to get the full experience. But I loved my main course and the spinach dip so I'll take that as a win.

Michaels was a wonderful display of terrific cuisine,superb service and a spectacular experience. I had the Caesar Salad and a side of Mac and cheese. The atmosphere was upscale and laid-back with a side of relatability. The owner was one of the most friendly and welcoming people I have ever met. I give it five stars and definitely would suggest you try it for yourself and I look forward to going again. Hats off to the chef! 😊😊😊😊😊😊

It’s Revu-a-holic Time: So, my close coworkers and friends decided to do a going away dinner. It was for a dear friend who was moving back home. She is such a sweet soul. The choice made was Michael’s 🍽️. I did visit this establishment some years back. I remember the location in Homewood, Alabama. The food was good then and still good now. The owner of this establishment really does know how to cater fine dining in an affordable way. Quality southern dishes is the niche that keeps this business operating. The spinach dip with the bread is delicious. Did I mention? I almost forgot to take pictures of the food because I wanted to start grubbing. Some dishes did make it to our stomachs before I got to film. Though, I did have the opportunity to show you some of the mouth watery dishes. Pros, cons and pictures below. Pros: Hostess/Cashier professional and knowledgeable Clean tables Clean restroom Meals served promptly at appropriate temperature Meals are fashionable, fresh, and tasteful Theme aligns with ambiance Menu is legible and presentable Music aligns with theme. It’s not too loud and not too low. Server was polite Variety of beverages Welcoming environment Sumptuous meal prices Spacious seating areas Indoor and outdoor seating Handicap accessible Dine in and carryout available Only (1) locations I know about Cons: No parking accommodations. It is public parking two corners down. Birmingham metro area has high traffic.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND this location especially early in the day. Service was superb, our steaks and side dishes were delectable, and their wine options were excellent. Their steaks did not need the usual steak knives, they’re so tender and juicy, you can cut them with butter knives. We will be returning.

Food was good but not comparable to the price point and historical reputation. The lamb my friend had was excellent though. Parking was scarce. Service was very friendly but just a tad slow. Odd that they did not have wine list to present us.

I absolutely enjoyed my time at this restaurant! My bone in ribeye was great. Drinks were also very tasty. The service was great! Please give this restaurant a try. A very nice fine dining experience!

I finally got a chance to stop by Michael's Restaurant. One thing I immediately noticed about the food is that it's well presented and "no fuss." Michael's sticks to good food without a lot of frills. I can appreciate that. I wasn't that into the bread pudding. I am very specific with this dessert and expected a different recipe.

I am a certified foodie. I confirmed with my family all of the food is rated 5 out of 5 stars!! Every dish was hot and delicious!! Absolutely no complaints about the food. I'll definitely come back again but I'll make sure to pay with cash the service charge for using a credit card seems to be overkill I was ok with the automatic 20% gratuity. I wish I was advised about the debit card surcharge in advance. The server was very nice and knowledgeable. The food came out timely. When we arrived the hostess was on the phone it appeared personal I'm not 100% sure she asked us to wait while she continued to talk on the phone. Nevertheless, all went well. The food and service was good. We didn't get to the rooftop due to the rain...next time.

Make sure to check you ticket. They add an additional fee for using a credit card, and add the ticket yourself. On s e viral occasions myself and others sitting at tables near us, after seeing it's calculating my total after I received my ticket they asked me why and I told them the truth,on my birthday, mother's day, and a random visit here, the waitress added another unexplained $50-70 on my check, and each time I had to have to owner come explain it to me,and not even she knew what the extra charge was, and removed it...people, be careful, if you don't double check your ticket, they will get you. Food was good, once they got it right, but not enough to allow you to steal from me and my son, smh. We will not be going back.

Very overpriced for just average food. The bread was good. Spinach dip was ok. Shrimp & grits, which i love, was very underwhelming. Burger was ok. My husband got lamb, and said about half of it was cooked perfect. The other half...not so much. Got their "award winning" bread pudding. Another disappointment. 🙁 When we arrived, we were the only customers there. However, it took quite awhile to prepare the meals considering there were no other customers. No customers showed up the whole time we were there. That says quite a bit! They also automatically charge you a 20% tip. It was almost $400 for 4 adults, and 2 kids, which would have been fine had we received a quality meal, and not had such a long wait for our food.

The internet lists Michael’s as “Upscale”, and to a degree I guess it is. I travel all over the country and dine out regularly, but not one time, in any restaurant, “upscale” or not, have I ever been charged for cheese and bacon on a loaded baked potato. The menu shows it as “loaded” so that typically means the extras come with it. Nowhere did it state, those items were an additional cost, nor did the waitperson mention it. Added gratuity is understood for large parties, but for one person is unheard of. I’m all for tipping Tipping great service, but let the customer decide if it’s earned. The food was good and had great flavor, but it’s the little things that stand out, and customers don’t forget. Do better Michael’s management.

This was my 1st and last time eating here. I and my husband came in thinking it's beautiful in here and looked well organized. Fast forward, we ordered water and I asked for a straw and it took 10 minutes to get that. We were not asked if we wanted an appetizer. The Lamb chops are good but definitely not worth $52.00. Once food was out, I asked for water 3 times and no lie I did not get it, til I was about to go. They are charging u a tip upfront Knowing they are not going to give u good service. The service sucks. They don't keep your drinks filled nor do they check on you. The lady with the earring hook in her nose has awful service. I guess her name is Danestris? I can say they checked on us 1 time and that's out of 1 hour. They need some quality people working there. The POINT is, whether they give bad or awful service, they're saying, we're still getting PAID. Michael's Restaurant service sucks! Please DONT GO THERE!

This was my first time visiting this restaurant and my experience was not the best. The waitress advised they were out of a particular steak after she has taken our order. She asked us about getting another type steak that was a little larger than a 6oz. So I was like okay. She never provided us with a price or anything. When she brings the food out, she give my food to the wrong person at the table and the young lady cuts into it and I cut into the one she give me. Well we had each others food. She ask us to swap and we do because they are already out of the streak we all 3 wanted. Well we attempt the eat the food. It’s okay. We don’t complain. We just ask for to go boxes and the check. She brings the check. The 6oz plus steak is $29 more than what we originally ordered. So I asked the waitress about it and she said it was a 10oz. So I say to her you said a little bigger than a 6 oz. The girl ask me did I want to see the menu to see the price. That was not the principle. I was like you should have advised the difference in the price because you had already taken the menu when you came back and told us yall was out of the steak we initially wanted. They did not try to accomadate us or anything for not advising us of the difference other than some $2 garlic butter. Not to mention the food was not that good. The fried feeen tomatoes were not seasoned good. My steak was not medium, but medium well. My daughters was rare. I told her to just take it home and put it in the air fryer. Our bill was almost $300 and the food was not worth it. Let’s just say, never again in life!!!!
