Amazing. Best chicken salad sandwich I have ever eaten. I live near Knoxville, TN but my work's main office is in Birmingham. This will need to become our go to lunch spot when we all meet. I will now veto any other choices. LOL

Simply the best! The perfect spot for lunch with quality service and food. Personally, I love the gumbo. Also, DO NOT forget about their catering! The lasagna is incredible!

My company used Homewood Gourmet catering for a three day event. The food was delicious and delivered on time. When they delivered they noticed that the dipped strawberries did not have beautiful leaves, so they remade the entire order at no charge. Very impressed. Will use again!

We were invited to enjoy a private dinner that was catered by Chef Chris. Dinner was fabulous and he gave us such good food and presentation. If you are in need of a special evening, have Chef Chris cater your dinner. My only regret is that we didn't take pictures.

Had the shrimp po' boy and gumbo. Both were excellent. They have a case near the cash register with take-out meals to prepare at home. I took the chicken and black bean enchiladas home for dinner and my friend loved it. I was a hero, at least for a couple of hours. I'm going back, probably this week, to sample other delectable items from that cooler to be prepared at home.

Homewood gourmet is a time-honored restaurant kind of tucked out of the way in Homewood. It's a great place to go for a sandwich, quick lunch, or some sort of takeout meal for your family.

We ate dinner there. I had the meatloaf sandwich and my wife had a shrimp poboy. Both were good. We bought a whole pound cake to take home. At first it seemed dry and stale. After a couple of days it's much more moist and flavorful. Go figure.

I will say that the staff is incredibly friendly. I like that the salad I order was fresh and bright. I didn't like that there wasn't a menu that listed the ingredients in each dish. I like knowing what I'm ordering, and it's easier to glance through a list than to turn back and forth to ask many questions; luckily, there wasn't a line when I was there. Although the salad looked beautiful and fresh, I felt like I ate a plate of sugar when I was finished. I should've gotten the dressing on the side or omitted it.
