A truly elevated experience. We’ve been here 3–4 times and every visit has delivered superb service from start to finish. The staff is polished yet genuinely warm, and the attention to detail really stands out. The live jazz creates an intimate, sophisticated atmosphere, and the food is crafted with real precision — you really can’t go wrong. It’s one of those places that feels special every time and keeps you coming back.
From the "first bite" to dessert, the food and service were stellar. Loved the live jazz and the hot towel at the end! It's those things you typically don't get that are noticed. Those were definitely appreciated, although all the food got it's own oohs and ahs.
We had an absolutely amazing experience at Chandler’s. From the moment we walked in, the service, food, and atmosphere were all exceptional. Every dish was perfectly prepared and full of flavor, and the ambiance made the entire evening feel special and relaxing. A huge thank-you to Caleb and Bo-Dee for going above and beyond to make our night truly memorable. Their attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism elevated the experience even more. We can’t wait to come back—Chandler’s never disappoints!
During our temporary move to Boise, my boyfriend and I frequented Chandlers, spending both of our birthdays and Thanksgiving becoming a date night favorite. The staff is exceptional, warm and accommodating, and the atmosphere is always welcoming! Among our personal favorites on the menu were the tuna tower, boat scallops (can be ordered individually as an app), burrata salad, salmon gravlax, sole amandine and of course the chocolate soufflé-order in advance if you want to avoid wait the 15 min prep. The food was always prepared to perfection and we’ve always felt great after dining here. Truly appreciated the level of care and attention of service leaving every visit as memorable as the last. We will definitely miss this restaurant! Tip: Your valet will be validated next door for dining in.
Hands down some of the best steaks in Idaho and not just steaks. Everything I’ve tried there has been amazing. I don’t even like white fish, but somehow they made it so good that I actually enjoyed it. The cocktails are fantastic, and the live music makes every visit an incredible experience. I’ve been there many times and will definitely keep coming back. There really aren’t many places like this. Huge vibe and a must-visit.
First time ever coming to Chandler‘s. Our waitress Kim was extremely kind. She had amazing suggestions. We did receive some steak tar tar, which we were unprepared for what that actually was. Not a fan, and she graciously removed the appetizer and offered any type of replacement if we would’ve chosen. The food was incredible. The presentation was beautiful and the mahi-mahi was delicious. Hunter, the server assistant was on top of it as well! What a fantastic fun way to celebrate 40 year anniversary.
I tried both the smoke + silk and a red light drink and they were both very good. For dinner I had the tower of tuna, crab cakes and carrot cake. Everything was delicious, especially the crackers rhat came with the tuna, and the lady that was singing was great.
I’m a steakhouse guy, and there’s not a single restaurant I’d pick over a classic steakhouse. Chandler’s did not disappoint. I’ve been to some of the greatest steakhouses in the country—Michelin-starred spots, iconic historic steakhouses—and I have to admit that Chandler’s in Boise might be the best I’ve ever been to. Before the food, the service alone stands out. The staff takes real pride in treating you well and making you feel like you matter, which goes a long way. The food is an easy five stars. I ordered the Japanese Wagyu ribeye, and I’m going to be honest—most places don’t cook A5 Wagyu perfectly because of the marbling, but Chandler’s nailed it. I’ve never had one that good. Every dish and drink was incredible, not a single disappointment. Thank you, Chandler’s. Here’s to many more visits whenever I’m in town.
An exceptional meal! Service was superb. The only reason I gave it a 4 for atmosphere was that we had to eat at the bar at a high top table (not their fault, already fully booked due to no availability). It has been a loooong while since I’ve had a great abalone and theirs was super delicious and fresh! A SURPRISE was the Wagyu steak produced in Idaho! Supremely delicious and amazingly well marbled. True Wagyu! From Idaho???? 😊 This is a definite revisit if I ever come to Boise again. A very well stocked wine list/cellar. Very accommodating for dietary restrictions (reasonable).
Not often do I rate a restaurant a 5 star but Chandlers completely deserves it. My family and I dined there for my birthday celebration and it didn't disappoint. If you like to sit in a booth be sure and make a reservation and request one. The service was outstanding, and the food was incredible, delicious, cooked just right and beautifully presented. It is by far the most expensive meal we have ever had, but also the best meal and an unforgettable evening. Thank you Chandlers!
Amazing food, service and experience. Thank you! We had such a great night for my birthday!
Great spot in Boise for special occasions. The smoked ribeye is the best steak my wife has ever eaten. The A5 wagyu was worth every penny. The cocktails and mocktails are delicious. The staff is super friendly and attentive. I can't recommend this place enough for an anniversary or birthday to make it a memorable experience.
The food was wonderful. Went with a group of 7 and the team taking care of us was great.
Nick is the man! Go see my man Nick! He's a wonderful waiter and super personable. An expert at his craft. Ask for Nick because he will take great care of you. Also... the food rocks! The lobster bisque soup is wonderful! Crab cakes are mostly meat rather than mostly bread. The Ahi tuna kicks butt! The shrimp scampi pasta is wild delicious!!! The veal is Devine! The deserts... amazing! Go here... now! Worth the $$$. A total experience that you will remember for years to come.
Great restaurant! The carrot ginger soup was amazing. Very attentive staff. The young man assisting our server, Marco, I believe was his name was the best! He put the experience over the top. He was fantastic! Very fancy steak house and they really do it right.
This was my first time here and it was lovely. The restaurant is low lighting except for in all the places it matters which made for the perfect lighting. Our server and his assistant waiter where amazing. We sat right behind the band and although it was loud it wasn't overly loud. They started us out with a delicious amuse-bouche. I wish I could remember exactly what it was, but I know that at first it seemed bland and then there is a burst of flavor. Very tasty. For wine we order a glass each of the the following wine. -Patz & Hall, Sonoma Coast, ca '22 *Was very easy to drink but very oaky -Joseph Drouhin, Pouilly-Vinzelles, fr '21 *Was so crisp and smooth. Wonderful We ordered the crab cakes, they were delicious. I wish they had been slightly more crispy. The sauce was delicious. We both ordered the filet mignon, it came with a broccoli and a tomato topped with yumminess. I ordered my steak medium well and my husband ordered his medium. They came out well crusted and cooked perfectly. (made us think of the steak from the matrix.) In addition we order the Yukon potatoes and the asparagus with hollandaise sauce (which could have used 3* the sauce). I also ordered the crème brulee and it was also well crusted. The crack was perfect. The butterscotch flavor was good and not to strong. Although I kind of wish it had been a standard crème brulee custard. The decaffe coffee was also very good.
Heard this was the best place to eat in the entire state. I don't know if my standards are too high, but I don't believe the restaurant lived up to the hype. The atmosphere was fantastic- very calm and comfortable. Service was beyond exceptional. It was phenomenal! Our waiter Zach was attentive and smooth, never annoying. The experience was memorable. The food, not so much. It wasn't horrible or impossible to eat, but it wasn't any better than anywhere else that costs less than half of what my party spent. It was a very pleasant experience, but the food left a little to be desired.
Service was outstanding, love the romantic atmosphere. Had the blue crab cakes, seemed salty.. had the boat of scallops the potato cakes seemed overcooked and somewhat greasy. The halibut and mashed potatoes wete great! DEFINITELY recommend the chocolate souffle AMAZING!!
I've eaten at all of the top 50 steakhouses in the United States. And when you run the numbers, Chandlers ranks a staggering fifth best! We were recently in Boise and revisited this delicious upscale eatery. While I'd realistically rank Chandlers down around 25th (in my personal opinion), that doesn't prevent it from being a fabulous steakhouse! It's a very good place to have dinner in Boise. The steaks are incredibly tender and professionally prepared. Chandlers even offers American Wagyu from the famed Snake River Farms and imported Japanese Wagyu. The lobster bisque and scallops were both very good but better exists. However, the complimentary bread service is spectacular, as is the olive tapenade butter that accompanies the bread.
I hate giving this place a 3 star review, but: My wife and I went here for our 1 year anniversary. The atmosphere and service here is fantastic. Everyone is super polite. The food we got was: The Black Orchid - tuna with sesame seeds. It was 6-7 slices of good quality tuna with a nice sauce. This was good, but we both agreed it wasn't worth the price tag. 10oz filet mignon - ordered medium rare and came out as such. Very tender and well seasoned. The veggies that came with it were quite good as well. 16oz Ribeye - ordered medium and it came out less than rare; I would almost consider it blue. The manager stopped by to check on us and I showed her the steak and she immediately took it back to get fully cooked. The second time around it came out medium, but was obviously chewier than it should have been since it was cooked, sat for 15 minutes, and was then recooked. It's very disappointing to pay $70+ for a steak that isn't cooked correctly and ends up chewy. Chocolate soufflé - tasty, well cooked, with a nice Grand Marnier cream. We spent over $300 here and I left disappointed.
