Calico's

Tiny unassuming spot in Borrego springs- but it's fantastic! We just came for coffee, but ended up with (very affordable) quiche, egg bites, lemon bars, and bagels. All were served hot, delicious, and quickly. Quiche with mushrooms was savory and soft. Egg bite with mozzarella was crisp and the yolk oozed out wonderfully. My friend said it best: this is a little spot that knows what it can do, and sets about doing it excellently. Will return any time I'm in town.

We we’re staying locally in February and felt like pizza for our evening meal. We stopped in this shop and we’re not disappointed. It seems to be family run. Everyone working quickly and efficiently. We enjoyed the experience so much we went back for sandwiches the next day - they were full and meaty, made to order. The pastrami was very lean. We tried a mango smoothie and chocolate shake both quite good. You won’t be disappointed if you go by.

Needed a quick breakfast and coffee and this place was perfect! The chile relleno quiche was delicious - so silky smooth with so much cheese and flavor. My partner who doesn’t eat bread was able to get a sandwich with turkey, cheese, and bacon and just eat the filling. Coffee was good too and the service was very friendly!

Went here with a large group after camping and everyone enjoyed their food. The mushroom quiche was delicious, one of the best quiches I've tried. The lemon bar was also very good. Service was quick and the server seems like a solid guy.

Extremely friendly and accommodating. We showed up 10 min before closing without knowing it and they were awesome to us! The pizza is delicious, excellent crust and sauce. Toppings are generous on the Supreme, definitely recommend.

Best pizza in Borrego Springs! Highly recommend!

We wanted a quick breakfast before heading out of town. Everything was delicious! I had the chili relleno quiche which was amazing and my husband did a build your own breakfast sandwhich which was also spot on and tasty. They were extremely nice and polite. Highly recommend!!!

Pizza ! Yummy !! I got the large meat lovers and I had them add pineapple and jalapeños with extra cheese on toppings. It was so delicious!! It also looked beautiful with all the toppings. I’m glad I tried it. For sure one of the best pizzas I’ve had. Friendly staff great customer service.

Little hidden gem 💎 pizza supreme its delicious, blueberry turnover, brownies and lemon cake was amazing. Delivery was earlier than expected great service and great staff!

Everything is good, wholesome & home made. We love their sandwiches (chicken salad with pine nuts is delish), soups, and tiramisu!!! Coffees also excellent. Pizzas are great, but better get it there (instead of delivered).

The pizza is really good and reasonably priced. The guy running it is super friendly and accommodating. We tried the vegetarian and cheese pizza.

If you love pizza like I do then this is your go to pizza place in Borrego Springs first time going here my favorite is black, olive and pepperoni. It was so good and the people that works there are really friendly. Tonight we visited Calico’s for the first time in a while, we just happened to be in Borrego at dinner time and I’m glad we stopped! They’ve upgraded and expanded the inside of the restaurant with a bigger space that includes more indoor seating and a bathroom for customers! It’s very clean and cutely designed. The owner and her son are very nice, friendly and welcoming. We had the meat lovers pizza and all 3 of us loved it, as well as the Caesar salad. The XL pizza and salad is enough for 2 meals for our family of 3 and very delicious. My daughter and husband both commented on loving the sausage in particular. Wonderful people, place and great food!

It’s in The Mall shopping center and has a comfortable patio with some covered seating, plus they’re truly dog-friendly (they even had a water bowl available). Mario, the owner, is incredibly friendly and service-oriented—he really hustles to make sure customers are happy. He brewed a fresh pot when I asked for decaf and even offered to steam oat milk. Everything was spotless, inside and out, including the restrooms. The baked goods are delicious, with gluten-free options too. I loved the chile relleno quiche (the quiche choices change regularly), and my husband really enjoyed the yogurt with fresh berries. We’ll definitely be back next time we’re in the area!

It was loaded, piping hot, and packed with the kind of flavor that makes you shut up mid-bite. One of the best pies I’ve had in the desert, hands down. We grabbed the Caesar salad too. Super fresh, crisp romaine, just the right amount of dressing. Service? On point. Staff was fast, friendly, and had that low-key, small-town warmth without hovering. And the new expansion? Gorgeous. More seating, modern layout, but they kept the soul of the place intact. No weird over-designed “we’re trying too hard” energy. Just good vibes. Portions are legit. You won’t leave hungry. And prices? Very fair for the quality they’re slinging. Calico’s is a win. I’ll be back. Not just because I’m hungry. They earned it.

I went in and ordered 10 sandwiches for a company hike and Mario and Maria crushed it! The sandwiches had tons of meat. The lettuce and tomatoes were fresh and juicy. I also picked up cookies and chips to go along with the sandwiches. The cookies were extra flavorful and I loved the Reese’s peanut cookie! It was a nice touch. I would highly recommend them for all you food and drink needs! Say hi to Mario and Maria to when you’re there.

I love their pizza. Personally, I think it’s the best in Borrego Springs. I don’t know if it’s just me, but feel they can improve on advertising their hours when they open, close for the season and be more present because for awhile I didn’t go since they were always closed then I tried. I came to write a review on the guy that always works the register. He has positive energy and always greets our family with a smile. I’ve been coming here for years and he is by far the friendliest employee/owners they’ve had. Keep this guy in the front and I’ll be back 😎

This cute pizza shop has a great look and is only five minutes from The Borrego Palm Canyon Campground. They had the best Pizza I’ve ever had- the Veggie. They also have sandwiches, soda and coffee, gelato ice cream bars, pastries and more. This is such a wonderful place and I fully recommend you check it out.

Sitting outside now, ordered a small latte and Reeses Peanut butter cookie. The latte was great, not too sweet, just right. They offer milk alternatives too! Was watching the food come out and it's all delish looking. The staff (owners maybe) are so lovely. Worth stopping in! You can also bring your own cup

It was very busy in the town for Valentine’s Day and unfortunately my partner and I waited 1.5 hours for our food somewhere, so we decided to check out. Went to calicos and the workers making the pizzas said he would squeeze in a pizza for us (at 6:30). He went above and beyond for our pizza and service, we were very much appreciated plus the pizza was delicious (we got the Hawaiian) thank you so much for coming through. 10/10 recommendation for Calico’s!

We stopped here after hiking in the desert. The place smelled heavenly. Were thirsty and ordered two Bobba drinks. The matcha version was not to sweet and the way I like it. Wife had a watermelon version and it had great flavor too. Next time we will try the food. Place has a lot to offer.

Went in this morning and got a latte and a coffee the service was great The Latte was good also got a cherry turnover which was delicious. The only reason why I didn't give it a 5 is the coffee was warm and not hot. But would definitely come back again.

It's a quiet spot when it's slow. The handful of times I've been here, it's busier in the morning. The hours are 7am-7pm. They do have a 2 hour "Siesta" where they are closed (2-4pm). They do have outside seating, also. I'm still trying to figure out service, some days are great, others are okay/good. But, I keep coming when I want something to eat.

Calico's makes the most delicious pizza! We celebrated employee appreciation day with their veggie pizza with feta and it was amazing. The folks are super nice, prices are right and we always leave happy.

I ordered a medium hawaiian pizza as recommended by one of the locals. It was more than enough for one. Though i wish they would cut it into 8ths not 4ths. The pizza tasted great. Very cheesy and not that fake tasting cheese even after it has gotten cold. Thier stuff was so good. I think they make their pizza from scratch so it took about 30 minutes to make mine. Seems like a popular place bacause someone came and ordered about 10pizzas. So it would be over an hour until they could start any otger orders. The place is cute. Very nice looking restaurunt. They had slushy machines and coffee machines. Their menu had all kinds of sandwiches and milkshakes. One of the chefs even had a very nice uniform!

The pizza sauce is the ONLY thing I’d change about this place. It’s very sweet and really takes away from the great crust. MAYBE it was not the sauce, but something is off. Just too sweet for us. I hope they change it because I would get a pizza every time we came into town!

The food was alright and they had decent prices but what really bothers me is that the guy was wearing his gloves and going back and forth to the front touching coffee pots and the fountain drinks. He then handled my money and three other customers right after me and then didn't bother changing his gloves before he went to the back to cook my food! And they were out of everything that I was wanting so I was stuck ordering something that I didn't really even want. Won't be back if they can't even maintain proper hygiene.
