Food: WOW! Their tapas were amazing. Best spot I have ever had in Boston. We ordered 4 among the 3 of us and it was the perfect portion. I will be dreaming about all of them!!! Service: Tapas were pretty fast! Service was good. No complaints. Ambiance: SO clean inside! Bathrooms were super clean, lots of space to put coats and stuff too. Loved the interior design as well.
I almost never write Google reviews, but this experience really stood out. I left feeling genuinely happy, with a full stomach and a very full heart. The vibe is cozy and elegant, the whole restaurant already smells like top-notch fried goodness, and most importantly, the server who took care of me was beyond amazing and warm. I accidentally spilled my drink, and she immediately brought me new side breads and a drink refill. When I was finishing up, I was even treated with churros on the house. Sorry I didn’t catch her name, but I genuinely wish her all the best and hope she knows how much her kindness was appreciated. The food itself was such a treat—everything was cooked to perfection. I especially recommend the gambas, with just the right amount of oil and perfectly crispy side bread. The Brussels sprouts with raisins were also very satisfying. Lastly the house signature margarita tasted light but hit strong in a delightful way. The only small suggestion I have is that I’d love to see a bit more sour or spicy flavor somewhere in between to add an extra bold layer. But that’s more of an A to A+ comment. Ty for the feast, and I would definitely revisit to try out more tapas and the paella.
We had a great experience at Boqueria Seaport and overall really enjoyed our visit. Our server was super nice and attentive, and the drinks were very good. The octopus was delicious and definitely a highlight of the meal. That said, we were disappointed with the choripán—the bread was extremely hard, which took away from the dish. The meat should be the star of the show, but the hard bread really overpowered it. A softer bread would make a huge difference. We’ve visited other Boqueria locations in DC and loved them, so we know how good it can be. We’d still come back and hope this was just a small hiccup.
After two months, I had the chance of returning to Boqueria for a lovely, delicious dinner. I've had the fortune of traveling to Spain a few times in the last 4 years, becoming friends with locals, and delving a bit into their gastronomical culture and delights. If you're looking for the best Spanish food, your best bet is to go to Spain, but Boqueria comes pretty damn close! Right off the bat, classic Spanish tapas like ham croquettes, patatas bravas, Iberian ham, spanish tortilla, and pan con tomate stand out. Aside from traditional tapas, they offer a variety of other options that pay homage to spanish cuisine with a little added twist: this is something I personally appreciate. I opened with a Parra Jiménez orange wine, and some truffle goat cheese. Then, I moved on to an order of patatas bravas, crispy brussel sprouts glazed with an Iberian ham vinaigrette, ham croquettes, beef and pork albóndigas (meatballs, AMAZING), accompanied by a glass of Cesca Vicent, a grenache, cab, and merlot blend from the Catalonian region of Priorat. Delightful and fantastic! The Spanish generally pair their wine with food, and this wine was the perfect compliment for the dishes I ordered. Everything was delicious. Additionally, the staff was SUPER friendly and kind. Thanks you guys for such a great dinner experience! I'll be back next time I'm in Boston.
We absolutely loved our experience at Boqueria. We went on a Friday at lunch time with friends visiting from out of town and our 4 month old. Sometimes restaurants aren’t welcoming to babies and strollers but everyone here was extremely friendly and accommodated us in a spot we would be comfortable. They greeted the babe and we felt very at ease about it. On top of it being beautiful inside, the food is FANTASTIC. We all ordered a bunch of plates and shared. We left very satisfied. The cocktail and wine selection was lovely. We will definitely be returning and would recommend to anyone who looking for a place go eat in seaport.
The atmosphere, service, and food were top notch. Completely enjoyable experience. Definitely recommend the chef experience. Livia our server went above and beyond and made sure our experience was perfect.
Went there twice this year (for the summer menu, and then the fall), definitely recommend the paella (the costilla for the bone marrow and the marisco for all the seafood/traditional paella). They are about a 45 minutes wait, so I would advise to get a snack beforehand. The choripan (they do not want anyone to call it a hot dog lol) is a good choice for a beforehand snack, as well as their charcuterie board. For desert, their churros is a must! The ambiance inside is warm, cozy. It could be a little tight because there are a lot of people, it's always busy, and the place is a tad small.
Had a great experience with Nate as our server. The food, drinks and vibe were great for a Friday night girls night. Ended with the freshest churros I’ve ever had
The food was delicious and authentic. The service was excellent Adrian was very attentive. The restaurant is very nice.
Solid Spanish restaurant. All of the dishes were good, though the presentation of the Serrano ham dish was a bit disappointing. We enjoyed the tangy sourness of olive on the octopus dish. None of the dishes were overly salty or bland — the flavors were well-balanced and on point. My husband especially enjoyed the sauces for the gambas al ajillo. We also ordered a pitcher of sangria, which was good. The atmosphere was great — clean and new. Overall, nothing stood out in a negative way; it’s definitely a good restaurant.
Cesar, our server, was super attentive, kind, and helpful with suggestions. We had an amazing dinner here, placed in a sleek, clean, comfortably lit dining space. It had a retro, soft wood, warm feel. The food? Phenomenal. Albondigas, some of the best meatballs we’ve had recently, the citrus element was different, made it refreshing. Escalivadas were creamy, full flavor, and the crispy thin focaccia was a great contrast. Choripan was one of my favorite chorizo recipes of recent as well, being well paired with the garlic aioli and salsa verde. The lamb in the Pintxos Morunos was so tender and so great. Fideua Mar y Montana was the star of the show, and was an amazing squid ink dish. Stuffed Squid with chorizo was a great touch. Finished with olive oil cake, Tarta De Naranja, which was also amazing and a great compliment to a great meal. Will be back!
I’ve tried four tapas places in Boston, and this one has been the best so far. I especially loved the Patatas Bravas, octopus, meatballs, and the paella. The paella takes about an hour to prepare, but it’s definitely worth the wait!
We went to Boqueria Seaport for a girls’ night out, and it turned out to be such a great choice! The energy of the place is lively and fun — it definitely has that bustling tapas bar vibe. It can get a little loud and boisterous, so it’s not the quietest place to have deep conversations, but it adds to the festive atmosphere and we were still able to chat and enjoy ourselves. The food was absolutely the star of the night. We ordered a variety of small plates to share, which was the best way to sample the menu: • TRUFFLE GOAT CHEESE – rich, creamy, and decadent with just the right truffle flavor • ENSALADA CÉSAR (Cesar salad) – crisp and refreshing with a nice balance of dressing and crunch • PATATAS BRAVAS (potato) – crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and paired with a flavorful sauce • GAMBAS AL AJILLO (shrimp) – perfectly cooked, garlicky, and full of flavor • PULPO A LA PLANCHA (octopus) – tender and smoky with a delicious char • PINTXOS MORUNOS (lamb skewers) – juicy, well-seasoned, and grilled beautifully • ZANAHORIAS (carrot) – sweet, roasted to perfection, and surprisingly one of our favorites • CROQUETAS DE SETAS (mushroom) – creamy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and packed with earthy mushroom flavor Every single dish was flavorful, beautifully prepared, and perfect for sharing — we honestly didn’t have a single miss among them. Another nice touch is that they offer a birthday cake celebration. It’s really cute and makes the evening feel special, but note that they don’t provide candles, so if you’re celebrating, it’s worth bringing your own. The only downside is parking. It’s a bit of a challenge in the Seaport area, and the general parking nearby cost us $22, which adds up. That said, once you’re inside, the food and atmosphere make up for it. Overall, Boqueria Seaport is a fantastic choice if you’re looking for flavorful tapas, a vibrant atmosphere, and a fun place to share plates with friends. It’s perfect for group outings, celebrations, or just enjoying a night out over delicious Spanish-inspired small dishes.
We experienced the Boqueria Experience Menu. The Bellota Ham is freshly manually sliced and it has been memorable! Seafood paella 🥘is recommended and all the tapas were good! 🥖🦐🫒🍷 When you are from Spain and live abroad you miss the smell and flavor of the food… thanks to Boqueria we travelled to Spain today! 🇪🇸 Thank you very much Cesar for the great service and recommendations!
Good food, friendly service from Marc. A bit pricey but something for everyone. We really enjoyed the brussels sprouts & the turrón dessert.
The food was delicious and authentic; the tortilla española I haven't found anywhere else in Boston, and was my favorite dish when I lived in Spain over a decade ago. The service was great, though we had to wait 30 minutes for a table after our reservation time - not their fault given half the restaurant was reserved for a party and several large work groups occupying tables. Definitely recommend checking it out!
We visited Boqueria in Seaport for a birthday dinner in a small group. We were able to reserve a table in advance. We loved this place. The service was awesome, our server was very knowledgeable and loved what he did. He definitely made our experience pleasant. The food was just as good, we tried a lot of different dishes and loved each of them. We even loved the drinks we ordered. Definitely coming back.
Today was my first time coming for Brunch. It was a great experience!! The environment, THE MIMOSAS, the food. Food arrived in a very timely manner. The food was very flavorful, as always. The Boqueria team never disappoints :)
Marc and Caesar were SO helpful. Nothing but good things to say about the whole experience! We asked for recommendations and got GREAT advice. We will be back....
Bouqueria is my go to place for a nice group dinner in and around seaport. Lively Tapas place with ambient lighting, fully stocked bar and great staff. Great food by the way, house specials are always good. The place tends to get a bit busy during peak hours. Fried artichokes are must have.
New York-based chain serving up excellent tapas. Boqueria introduced me to the world of tapas when I first tried them in NYC seven years ago. For a while, my friends and I visited at least once every two months for their fixed-price brunch. So, when I heard Boqueria had opened a new location in Boston, I was thrilled. I recently dropped in for brunch on a Sunday, and the restaurant was surprisingly empty that afternoon. The menu has changed quite a bit since my last visit, so instead of the prix fixe, we decided to tap into an à la carte experience. From the small plates, we opted for the Pan con Tomate and Croquetas de Setas, and both were solid choices. The diced tomatoes and olive oil soaked into the bread just right, making each bite softer and more satisfying. The touch of acidity and gentle heat from the small pickled pepper on top added a nice kick. As for the mushroom croquettes, they were served on a sweet, jam-like sauce. While I’m usually not a fan of pairing creamy mushrooms with sweet flavors, this combo still managed to spread some joy. The following three dishes were all superb: Toasted Noodle Paella, Gambas, and Iberico Con Salbitxada. The Noodle Paella featured noodles cut to the size of rice grains, toasted to crispy perfection. The smokiness of the slightly burnt squid ink noodles combined with the richness of the garlic aioli made it a true flavor bomb. The Gambas received an upgrade with a lobster reduction that added a deep umami punch—possibly the best Gambas I’ve ever tasted. The Iberico Con Salbitxada, while not as rich as the other two, was all about the tenderness of the Iberico pork, which was simply sublime. The final two dishes, Paella de Mariscos and Picanha, were also solid. What I love about Boqueria’s paella is that it doesn’t rely on heavy saltiness. Instead, they let the rice soak up all the rich seafood juices, with just a hint of saffron and salsa verde. There's a reason Boqueria survived in NYC for nearly two decades—it serves up great value deals and an excellent menu that keeps getting better. While Barcelona Wine Bar might be the most popular tapas spot in Boston, in my humble opinion, Boqueria offers a superior experience with more flavorful dishes. Sure, the base tapas like Pan con Tomate and Croquetas are on par with others, but when it comes to the meat and seafood dishes, Boqueria delivers a far more complex and satisfying flavor profile.
The experience was amazing and food was great. Jeison was very attentive and his recommendations were spot on.
We had reserved a table for brunch and there’s two options. A la carte or a brunch feast option for $29/pp. we had two young kids so we opted for a la carte. We ordered a few tapas and items from the brunch menu. A good variety to pick from but I was a little limited bc of pregnancy. We really enjoyed the food and look forward to coming back. There were a lot of dishes I look forward to trying.
Nice atmosphere, solid service. Food was great. Slightly under-seasoned meatballs but overall everything I had I’d get again.
This is the second Boqueria (I have visited the one in DC several times) place I visit and the quality is the same, amazing place, amazing food, no weak spots. We ordered maybe 5-6 tapas and a pitcher of Sangría. Everything was great. The only point with this Boston venue is that by Law, happy hour does not apply on drinks, only for food. I didn't know this and paid full price on my Sangría, but it was fine, happy hour was banned in 1984 so that was on me. Absolutely recommended
I had the Tapas special. It was 8 small dishes including dessert. It was a lot of food for me but completely delicious. The atmosphere was pleasant and the service phenomenal. My favorite was the Brussels sprouts with the orange flavored sauce.
Food, service, ambience, all amazing!!! Our server Caesar was incredible. Definitely would love to come back here. Also amazing prices for what you get!
Unbelievable experience. The food, the service, and the care they took to accommodate my dairy and soy allergy was next level. Came here with a party of 7 and we did the tasting menu. I lost count of how many dishes they brought out but every one was better than the last. Some of our favorites were the patatas bravas, shaved brussel salad, chicken with a fresh green sauce, and the lamb skewers. Our server Neylon was fantastic. He was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu and went above and beyond to let me know what was allergen friendly. The chef was able to make just about everything safe for me to eat without compromising flavor! We also had this white sangria that they poured into our mouth, which was so much fun. This spot would be great for a date night or a night out with friends. I will absolutely come back and can’t recommend this place enough!
Great tapas experience! We went with a large party and they were very accommodating. Drinks were good with a variety of brands to choose from. Dishes were delightful! Highly recommend the patatas bravas.
I was in the Seaport district for a conference and invited a friend to have lunch at this new Spanish restaurant. I was just in Barcelona a month previously and was curious to see how this place stacked up. Our waitress was very engaging, and she had actually studied in Barcelona. The restaurant is a replica of the Boqueria market in Barcelona, which was super interesting. We started with the traditional appetizers of batatas bravas and ham croquetas. Both were outstanding! I ordered another traditional dish, the huevos rotos (broken eggs), which was just as good as in Spain. My friend, on the waitresses advice, chose the huevos horneados. He loved it! For dessert, we tried the churros. Delicious! I look forward to returning for dinner and trying their paella. The food, atmospher, and service were top notch. I definitely recommend this place.
Dropped in for dinner on a Thursday night and we were kindly greeted and quickly seated. Great atmosphere, service, and food. The patatas bravas were delicious, and took me right back to Spain! The mushroom croquettes were equally tasty, but didn’t last long enough to be pictured. Needless to say, I will be back soon.
I had a fantastic lunch at Boqueria! I ordered the assortment charcuterie and cheese board, and everything was absolutely delicious. The quality of the meats and cheeses was excellent, and I appreciated the variety of options. When I asked about the brand of manchego they use, the manager personally came over to show me the whole wheel—such a nice touch! The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making the experience even better. The only minor drawback for me was the Tortilla Española, which was pre-made and more set than I prefer—I like mine with a runny center. But aside from that, everything was wonderful, and I’d definitely return. Highly recommend!
We had an incredible experience at Boqueria last night as my fiancee and I celebrated a birthday. Our server was Nate, who made it his personal mission to make sure we had the best time at dinner. He was extremely friendly, helpful with the menu, and made the menu work for us and our tastes making it a true experience. The food was phenomenal, with course after course the best tapas I've had and ending with fresh churros. We had the best time and will without a doubt be back and hope to get Nate again. Combining such good food with such good service made this an 11/10 night!
I am writing this review mainly to give a shoutout to our server, Sirrye (apologies for the spelling). She was absolutely amazing and such a genuine and warm person. She definitely knew the menu very well given the way she explained everything to us. Even though she was our server, she made it felt as though we were talking to a friend. Very kind, warm and genuine person. In terms of food, we genuinely enjoyed what we ordered. Our favorites were the seafood Paella, the chicken wings, and the tomato bread. The Paella was the perfect size for the two of us and on top of the other tapas that we ordered, we were left very full and satisfied. The environment was warm and romantic. It wasn't too loud or crowded for a Sunday evening.
We walked here from our hotel right after landing, and it was such a great pick! Sarai greeted us with a warm welcome and took great care of us throughout our meal. She was so friendly, easy to talk to, and made excellent recommendations. The tuna bowl was phenomenal, and my husband loved his burger. If we’re ever back in Boston, we’d absolutely come again!
We visited this place recently and it was amazing all around! Our waiter Nate was very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious! Everything was seasoned perfectly. There wasn’t a single dish that we didn’t like. I loved the seafood paella though the bottom was not crispy at all which is something I hope they will improve upon. The restaurant was busy so maybe they were rushing to get dishes out. Atmosphere was nice, loved the 90s/2000 music that was playing too.
Just had an okay meal here. Vibes and atmosphere were nice, but the food did not live up and we were disappointed with how long the end of the meal took. They were clearly short staffed, as we saw our server running around trying to help all of her tables and so we do not blame her—she was great! It just shouldn’t take 30 minutes to order dessert after receiving the menu. The meatballs and ham & cheese sandwich were my favorite, but still a 4/5.
We had the prix fix dinner (without the fancy ham) and it was so generous. I think I counted at least 10 papas and then we had seafood paella. The waiter said it was a "small paella" but we couldn't eat 50% we were so stuffed. The 2 drinks we had for were perfect. The wait staff is on top of everything - sharing tables and duties. A well oiled machine that made for a delicious dinner! Highly recommend it.
Lively restaurant with good ambiance. Music was a bit too loud for our liking, but you could have a conversation for the most part. The food was very flavorful and well made. The service was great, and the staff was very accommodating of everyone's dietary needs. Overall experience was good, except for their very dirty restrooms! You could certainly do better keeping them clean, even on a busy night.
The sangria was absolutely amazing, and the octopus was cooked perfectly, tender and flavorful. The flatbread was also quite good, but the paella was a bit too salty for my taste. The service was excellent . Overall, it was a great dining experience.
I tried this Spanish place for the first time and I had a great experience. This is a good alternative to Barcellona Wine Resturant, even though it is more expensive and the portions are not so big. The Jamone Iberico has amazing ($34!)… truffle cheese was good but the quantity was very very tiny. Crochetas were delicious. The pan with tomato is good but for $8 you should serve 5 times the quantity served (come on, this is bread with tomato sauce… in Spain they give you for free). I was impressed by the paella …. Very very close to the original one…. Good fish inside and crispy rice.
Boqueria was such a fun experience. A random find in the seaport that serves tapas. The staff was overall friendly and attentive. We started with the pitcher of red sangria and opted for the Boqueria experience. The experience pretty much gives you a good selection of the menu from starters to the main paella dish, followed by two dessert dishes. We wrapped up the meal with two extra drinks the margaritas and get grandma her drink (love the name 😄). My only reason for not giving a 5 star ranking was due to the music playing after 8pm.
Food: I love tapas, and I’ve had some really amazing tapas over the years, so I was excited to check this place out. I rate the food here good; not outstanding, but good. We chose The Boqueria Experience from the menu, and it was a nice variety of dishes. Atmosphere: Restaurant vibe was nice, with a dark, loungy feel and upbeat Latin music playing. On a Wednesday, it started to get busy around 7:30 pm. Service: The service was good, and the timing of the various dishes was efficient. We weren’t rushed, and the dessert (churros) was brought as soon as we gave the indication that we were ready for dessert.
We dined here last night and had a great experience. The service was outstanding, we had the perfect mix of attentiveness and not feeling rushed. The atmosphere was lively, but not loud. We were able to have conversation without feeling like we had to yell. Unfortunately, the food fell a little short for us. We ordered about 6 tapas total along with the braised short rib paella. The croquettes came out cold in the middle and we found the shrimp to be small, although there was a decent portion. The patatas bravas had nice smoky flavor. The paella was overdone and did not have great flavor, also a bit salty. Not worth the $50 price. The olive oil cake was hard and dry on the inside. I most likely will return for the ambiance and drinks, but not the food.
Not a very pleasant meal. We chose the chef's recommendation and first of all the number of dishes was not clear . The most unprofessional: all the dishes according to the number were odd. But the service and the ambience are praiseworthy.
Good service. The food itself though was very disappointing. You wait an hour for this paella and it just tastes like salty burnt rice. It’s $48 too and doesn’t come with enough flavor or seafood to justify it.
Came here for a brunch on Sunday, food was great, service is very disappointing. things were just not coming….the manager had to come over and delivered our food. Only saw our waitress once and asked if we could get the churros we ordered. She responded with we didn’t order that, she never heard we wanted to order that, which is just simply not true. We had a whole conversation about it, when I ordered and then the waitress said she would give out at the end. Also even if she didn’t hear that, the correct response is she can put it in, not we didn’t order it. Anyways, still tipped 15%, at least the manager came over and checked on us when she would ignore us, and the food was good. Would not come again..
A vibey spot that gives Barcelona wine bar but not nearly as good. the paella was great but takes forever to come out. Patatas bravas were good. The charcuterie was so disappointing for $25. Just look at the cheese slice that we got. We left not feeling satisfied after paying over $45 per person. Not my fave.
Small portions and pretentious staff that took a long while to serve our tapas. Came with loved ones to celebrate a milestone and brought a small celebratory cake from a bakery. As soon as we were prepared to slice and share it amongst ourselves the server claimed it was against their policy. Being a lawyer and well-traveled, I frequent fine dining experiences and deliberately chose a place with Spanish cuisine. However, I certainly will take this place off the list.
I visited the Seaport location and had a shady experience. We were a party of three celebrating a birthday, which was noted on our reservation. We didn’t ask for anything or even mention it was a birthday (beyond the resy note) but our server brought out churros, she explicitly said, “I got you,” which led us to believe they were a complimentary birthday gesture. Later, we realized we were charged which would’ve been fine on its own. What felt off, though, was seeing that we were also charged for an extra churro so each person would have two, and for two dipping sauces, none of which were mentioned beforehand. It felt misleading, and the overall experience left a bad taste not because of the charge itself, but because of the principle and how it was handled.
