great actually for a hotel restaurant/bar. it comes with hotel restaurant prices (i .e. higher than i would prefer) but the staff all were fantastic, kind, and helpful. we had breakfast here and evening drinks/dessert. all who we interested with were engaging and prompt. the coffees, juices, breakfast sandwich we had were great.
Mariah took care of us by bringing fresh coffee and being friendly. She kept us safe by asking about our allergies, as well. I particularly enjoyed the fresh rose on every table and the elegantly apolstered chairs. The food was fresh and sumptuous, and I loved having a great view. Thanks, Mariah!
The ambiance couldn’t be better. Obviously the view was amazing and a great spot to people and city watch but Sergio was awesome. He came back and checked on us, and gave us amazing info. It’s lovely to go to a place and feel like you are important for being there and he did just that. We will definitely be back and will tell our friends near and far.
Had the salmon sandwich and the blueberry pancakes…amazing. One of the best pancakes I’ve ever had.
A hidden gem!! Beautiful view, great responsive staff, try the bacon wrapped stuffed dates with cinnamon beer - wonderful!!! Liam is a great server!! If you do t come, that’s great, we’ll keep it to ourselves 🤣
I’ve been twice and both experiences were excellent. A rose at each table, and beautiful view of the Rose Kennedy Greenway, is a very classy tribute. The staff is welcoming and friendly and the food and drinks are excellent. It was perfect for Mother’s Day brunch and drinks and dinner overlooking the North End.
Great simple brunch food, nice staff, nice ambiance and view
Came in to watch some college football while it was raining. Sara was our bartender and was fantastic! Suggested a different type of drink for me and it was fantastic! I gave 3 stars for atmosphere since they close at 2 even on weekends.
Incredible service, Sergio is stellar! Amazing ambiance - the perfect spot for a summer meal.
Great breakfast and brunch menu.
Had a great evening with fantastic service. Cristiano was pleasant and gave the perfect amount of attention. The view at the open window was stunning.
What a fun brunch we had on Saturday! Buckets of bubbles and Jell-O shots. Chef’s corned beef hash was delicious! Service top notch! Thank you for a great afternoon!
My husband and I celebrated our wedding reception at Canopy Downtown Boston’s restaurant, The Rose, and it was everything we could have dreamed of! The staff went above and beyond to make sure every detail was perfect—the dancing space, open bar, and food were all incredible. The ambiance and space were truly one of a kind; there’s nothing like overlooking the Greenway and the North End of Boston. So many of our guests told us it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had! Everyone was dazzled but the location, too! Chef Gary is phenomenal. We asked if he could make arancini as an appetizer—a nod to our first date—even though it wasn’t on the menu, and he made it happen. They were such a special and delicious touch. Carol, the wedding coordinator, was attentive from nearly a year out and made the entire planning process so smooth. When she was unavailable, Jamie stepped in seamlessly and always with a smile. And Remy greeted us cheerfully every time we stopped by to review details. This team MADE OUR DAY. Without them and there work it simply wouldn’t have been the fantastic and flawless day it was. The whole team truly leads with servant hearts, filling the day with joy and kindness. We can’t recommend The Rose at Canopy Downtown Boston enough for the most magical wedding celebration!
We’ve had both dinner and breakfast multiple times at Rose Town Kitchen & Bar, and it’s been consistently excellent. The service is always warm, attentive, and professional—every visit has felt welcoming and relaxed. The dinner menu offers creative twists on classic dishes, and everything we’ve tried has been fresh and flavorful. Breakfast is equally enjoyable—great portions, quality ingredients, and served with care. The space itself is stylish yet cozy, perfect for both hotel guests and locals looking for a calm spot to enjoy a meal. Whether you’re starting your day or winding down your night, Rose Town is a hidden gem worth checking out. Highly recommend—especially if you’re staying at the Canopy Hilton or just exploring the North End!
My friends and I had brunch at Rose Town. The food was very good. I ordered the BLT w/ egg. We shared Sweet Chili glazed wings, which were amazing. The drinks were well made. There were three small errors made with the orders that were quickly rectified, so, I won’t complain. The server was very sweet and attentive. The restaurant is designed beautifully. Would definitely recommend ❤️
As a local, this place is such a great addition — even being in the Canopy Hotel! The hotel is beautiful and this restaurant is delish. We come here on and off for meals and today was a great experience. Anna helped us decide what we wanted and was very hospitable and nice! We’re staying here for a few days so can’t wait to come back and experience more of the food and talk to the bartenders! 10/10 recommend!
This is a great place with food and tapas. It gets full during the rush hours and you see the crowd of local business people standing and getting a drink a food to go. Prices are OK for Boston. Location is perfect, close to the old town and not too far from the Italian district.
Had a wonderful meal! Love the interior and the location is right by hotspots like the North End and Faneuil Hall. What we ordered: buffalo chicken pizza, meatball parmigiana, cranberry feta salad, short rib shiitake pappardelle (favorite!), wagyu smash burger. Asked for fruity mocktails and those were tasty too. The service from Heather was great!
Good hotel restaurant with a variety of tasty options. Food comes pretty quickly. Servers are a bit light for the crowd, so checking back for refills requires prompting. Friendly, though. Open and modern atmosphere with great views of an adjacent park and the skyline.
A beautiful gem in a great location with excellent food and beverages. I love the operable windows looking out over Rose Kennedy Greenway towards the North End. They provide fresh air and incredible views any time of day. The food menu is basic, but comforting with fine execution. I had the grilled cheese with tomato soup after a long day of walking and it really hit the spot on a brisk late Summer evening. They have a nice selection of craft beers on tap, wines by the glass and the usual full bar full of drink options. A really solid choice for a meal. I ate there twice during my stay at the hotel.
The food is so good here!!! Peter was a vibe during the Kentucky Derby 🐎 game. He was very cheerful! Shocna was our server and very friendly!
Espresso martini was very good, great presentation from the bartender and equally great balancing skills from the server. Staff were helpful and the food was perfectly portioned. Will definitely return! I’m kinda tall and even for myself the tables were high. the table to chair height ratio was odd, maybe the seat sank too much🤷♂️ wasn’t a big deal but short folk may need a phone book or booster seat
Wonderful live music, even better service. Chill atmosphere. Anna is very attentive and makes incredible cocktails! Our first time staying in downtown Boston. Will definitely be back!
Ask for Peter! We came here for Valentine’s and had the most lovely experience. Food and wine were great, but above all else: service was fabulous. Peter was so kind, competent, and hilarious! We will be coming back just to sit in his section (and eat the pappardelle - to die for).
Sarah Harrigan was our bartender at Rose bar. She truly was one of the sweetest, competent and friendly bartenders I’ve ever had. The drinks were made perfect. We loved all of the martini trios and we actually tried all 3 of them. I highly recommend the specialty drinks and I would specifically look out to have Sarah take great care of us again.
Fantastic place! Super friendly service, great food, great atmosphere. Highly recommended!
Great place to eat breakfast. The breakfast potatoes were amazing! I really enjoyed the atmosphere inside. Super cozy. Our server Clarissa was excellent. We didn't order much but she was very attentive keeping our coffee full and checking on us to see if everything was OK. We will definitely come back here again.
Great brunch at Rose! Food came out fast, especially loved the pancakes. Excellent coffee and service, our server Clarissa was attentive and made sure our mugs were always filled!
Spacious, airy, and bright restaurant, bar, and lounge on the second floor of a newish hotel along the Greenway, with pretty views across to the North End. Menu is tight and thoughtful with modern classics like a hot lobster roll and roast cod, plus truly outstanding seasonal cocktails. They had some terrific live music on Friday nights, soft and entertaining rather than overly amped and intrusive. Recommend.
As a local, I’m loving this place as a new addition—even being inside the Canopy Hotel. The hotel itself is gorgeous, and the restaurant is straight-up delicious.
Decent avocado toast with a hint of spice for breakfast. Drip coffee was lukewarm and somewhat watered down. Table seating was full but the bar was open. Service was quick but they kept trying to give the plates to the wrong people. Ate here because I had a food credit with the hotel; there are better places for breakfast in the neighborhood.
Had a great brunch at this spot inside a hotel. The atmosphere is surprisingly open and inviting. The food exceeded our expectations—beautifully presented and delicious. We ordered the wings, which were crispy, perfectly sauced, and juicy on the inside. Highly recommend! For our entrees, we had a build-your-own omelette, eggs Benedict, and a chicken sandwich—generous portions that left us feeling satisfied. Just a heads up, they serve brunch until 2pm, then reopen for dinner around 4-5pm. It's a trendy, stylish place perfect for a fun outing with friends or a casual date night.
How to find: inside the hotel, up the stairs This place is pretty much just a hotel restaurant, best thing about it is the view honestly. The billing can be confusing if you're not a guest at the hotel, make sure to tell staff if you're not staying with them or they will give you the wrong bill form. Coffee is a blonde roast in massive cups. The breakfast pizza was interesting, but basically just a pizza with some oily fried eggs on top. I still ate more than half of it though! We also got the crepes and pancakes. Blueberry pancakes made with frozen blueberries of course but the pancakes themselves were delicious! Crepes were mostly nutella.
Service was warm and attentive, not sure what his name was but he wore glasses and had slightly long/shoulder length wavy hair, he deserves recognition for his outstanding service. I ordered the chicken which was decent on the whole, salad was fresh and well seasoned, the chicken was just slightly over cooked but had a nice marinade. Had a taste of the pork chop that my partner ordered and was disappointed with how dry and tough it was throughout. The lean cut was no excuse for this poor execution as we had juicy versions previously. Beautiful ambience for drinks and chat — wished the food matched up to it.
It's a beautiful restaurant and it's not crowded! I sat by myself near a window with a view and enjoyed the Dine Out Pre-fixed menu. The salad was great, the entree (herb crusted fish) was a little bland and contained another salad on the plate which was a weird choice by the chef (because I was already served a salad), the basque cake kind of sucked but that might just be my opinion (they were out of the tart which I would've preferred). The service was excellent which is rare in Boston. Looking forward to finding an excuse to go back again.
Lovely food not too much to choose from for breakfast which I quite appreciate as was tired this particular morning. I had the eggs your way (poached) with chicken sausages on rye. The chicken sausages were delicious they had a slightly sweet flavour to them, perfectly poached eggs. My mum had eggs Benedict her eggs could have been a little firmer but the flavour was beautiful and the tomatoes actually tasted like tomatoes (we are from the uk were they get grown in a green house with not loads of sun meaning little to no flavour). We would recommend visiting but there cheaper options around.
We stayed at The Canopy Hilton and chose the pre-paid breakfast package at their onsite restaurant, The Rose. While our breakfast experience wasn’t quite what we had hoped for, the staff were incredibly kind and accommodating throughout. Our first morning started a little rough with cold coffee, and the fresh pot, unfortunately, had coffee grounds in it. They didn’t have cream available but did their best by offering milk instead. The servers truly couldn’t have been nicer — they were warm, polite, and working hard, but it did feel like they were a bit short-staffed and overwhelmed at times. The food itself didn’t quite hit the mark for us, with the bacon and potatoes being overcooked and dry. Hoping it was just a one-off, we tried again the second morning, but the experience was similar. By the third day, we opted to grab coffee from the Dunkin’ Donuts just around the corner. That said, we absolutely loved our evenings at the hotel bar — the cocktails were fantastic and the atmosphere was great. While breakfast wasn’t our favorite part of the stay, we did enjoy many other aspects of the hotel.
Service was great, however the kitchen was slightly disappointing. I ordered the Pork, while my companion ordered the chicken. Both has a really long wait time. Unfortunately when both mains were served, the meat were overcooked, and it was quite a mission to cut it apart. 5 stars for the service, 1 star for the kitchen. Will return again for drinks, but never for food.
Nice atmosphere but typical hotel restaurant food. Pizza and wings tasted like they had been premade and warmed up. One of our two pizzas was burned on the bottom. Risotto also tasted burnt, was bland and missing the shaved Parmesan that the menu stated should have been included. Panzanella salad was good. We are staying in the hotel and were tired from travel so tried this restaurant out of convenience but won’t be back.
The lady that waited on us last night was super friendly and great with our kids. The issue was the Mac and cheese and pasta were cold. I was going to ignore that but then we went back for breakfast this morning. This time the service felt like we were an inconvenience. We waited a while and when the food came out the omelette and pancakes were cold. They brought new food out but only after waiting for so long I had to walk up to the front. I also asked for refill on coffee and waited for over 10 minutes before I asked another gentleman. And then seemed like I caused an issue with another server. Next time we will just walk to a different restaurant.
I am a hotel guest and my experience was average. The food overall was not bad, but we ordered two well-done sirloin steaks and the meat was extremely tough. It was so hard that my mother ended up with gum pain from chewing it. The waitress was good at the beginning, but after leaving the check, she never returned. Dirty plates stayed on the table for over 15 minutes, and another staff member had to clear them. At breakfast, the coffee did not taste like coffee at all, and I did not appreciate being served bread already topped with butter without being asked about allergies or preferences. Overall, average service and very average food for what is expected
Want an eighteen dollar drink that tastes like dimetapp?? Then by all means, check this place out. But a great view in an aesthetically pleasing hotel doesn’t make up for mediocre overpriced food and drink. Walk down the street in the north end to Carmines, Neptune or a myriad of better values and experiences!
Baffled by other reviews. We went for dinner based on 4.8 stars as of the posting of this review. Expected something great. Very disappointed! Limited menu options. Food was average at best, not worth the higher prices. Although staff was pleasant, they were understaffed and inexperienced. Definitely NOT a downtown higher-end hotel restaurant experience. I do not recommend for a dinner.
Pay attention to their closing time when you make reservations! For some dumb reason, they let you book a table for 1:45pm when they close at 2pm. They can’t even cook the food that fast…. No restaurant should take reservation less than an hour before closing. Wasted my time.
Menus is nothing great... place wasn't packed but it took FOREVER to get a drink and this was at an 11 am brunch. For some reason the bar tender had to have the manager make my essprso martini. He did about 6 laps back and forth across the restaurant before he even started making my drink and that took almost 10 min its self. Good wasn't anything to brag about by any means. I wouldn't come here again there is a hundred better places only reason we came was cuz it was open on Thanksgiving morning
The Bolognese pizza was absolutely disgusting. Tasted like I was eating a spicy Sloppy Joe slapped on top of crust that wasn't allowed to rise enough. There was not enough cheese either. $24 for this and heartburn?? No thanks. Add a glass of wine and small tip (takeout) and it's over $40 total.
Honestly, I expected so much from this place between other reviews and the ambiance when you walk in. It was gorgeously decorated for the holidays, had cozy seating and lighting. We ordered calamari which was very good and a drink that was okay. However, when ordering, our waitress seemed surprised at what they had on their menu. We repeated ourselves multiple times and she had to come back and ask again. Our food came out and it was some of the worst food I have ever had. It had zero flavor and I think they left the past water in the dish. Even covering it in pepper, there was no fixing it. And we spent $150 to leave 80% of the food on the plate. Absolutely do not recommend wasting your time or money here.
Our family with two kids arrived at 1:02 PM, they close brunch at 2:00 on Sat, and there were several employees milling about, and no one said anything to us. We were completely ignored. Another man and his daughter came up at 1:12 and said he had a reservation at 1:30 and they were seated. I have no idea why we were ignored, but my kids are starving and tired. I'm furious. But the ambience is great.
I cannot speak to the food but the service was non existent. Was one of maybe 12 tables with 4 staff members present. No one spoke to us for a good 20 minutes. No water no coffee no order. Not even acknowledged.
The fact that the place was empty at peak brunch time was already indicative of what we were in for. The floor was dirty. I ordered a BLT. The bacon had been cooked for two days, so hard and dry that I hurt my teeth when I ate it. The fries tasted stale, possibly because they don't change the oil. Truly disappointing and mediocre considering the simple food. If you can't make even the basics, then there's a big problem. It's not worth the price of the food.
