Had a great brunch outside recently and it was flawless. Great vibes, great food, amazing service. Would highly recommend. Food is top notch, great quality, with amazing portion sizes. It's in the heart of Newbury in the best location and very easy to get to (very walkable). Definitely make a reservation, too. It can get pretty busy given how popular Newbury is.

First time here. We frequent Boston and have not been able to find a good breakfast place. This spot hit the mark. Very good blood mary. Huge portions and great tasting food.

Tried this place out while on Newbury this Tuesday. Was pleased with our experience, pitcher of water for table at no request which is always pleasant. Service wasnt insanely fast but we were seated outside with only 1 other table and it was a bit after lunch so we were unbothered. Food was great, apps were pricey but the meals were great portions and not obnoxiously expensive. Will definitely swing by the one in Terminal E the next time I fly internationally! I have never used my Chase Sapphire Credit their yet and now im alittle bummed

Food is AMAZING! For the price you pay for the items on the menu is completely worth it. I feel everywhere else in Boston is overcharged for what you are getting. Very disappointed that the banana bread with the raspberry and PB is no longer on the menu… it was DELICIOUS!

We were seated promptly and our waiter was fantastic. The cocktails were delicious and strong. We started with the nachos which were lacking a little bit in toppings (would’ve loved some sour cream or more spices on the pork). My fish and chips dish was amazing, and the Stephi burger was perfectly cooked. Busy spot but well worth the hype in our opinion!!

Eggs Benedict and potatoes are the move. Good food, good music, good vibe.

Great place to have lunch on the patio. Great people watching, service, and food! This was the first place we stopped once we arrived in Boston. Location is fantastic! Lots of shops up and down this street.

Food was good. Came fast and was hot! Definitely a lot of food for one person.

We had brunch with friends and the experience was exceedingly pleasant! Make sure to get reservations, and be on time! The food is worth it; "delicious" was the response to everything my group ordered. Great portions compliment a boozy brunch time getogether; the MagicMan cocktail was refreshing and pleasing. Definitely recommend!

Everybody was super nice. Portions were great and the quality of food is also really good. My one problem was I asked for the steak rare and it came out medium well. But it was still delicious. The fish and chips were so crispy and yummy. And the clam chowder was really warm and fresh!

Went to Stephanie's for a dinner. The staff was really friendly and nice. We ordered a bunch of stuff. The food was delicious. But the thing that I would like to point out is, the restaurant has amazing portion sizes. I really think 2 dishes here could feed 3-4 people. But really good experience and delicious food.

A nice place that was serving brunch, close to the Boston finish line. They had a nice outside sitting area, and our waitress was very attentive and friendly. I had the pancakes and an order of home fries. The food was all good, and they serve in big portions! Also the other food my friends bought looked really good!

We had a great meal here and Sophie (Sophia?) was an excellent server. The wagyu hot dog was giant and delicious. The wedge salad was huge and delicious, the sirloin(?) with it was mid, should probably be tenderloin tips or a higher grade meat than it was

We visited here January 8, 2023. The place was packed and we had around 30 minutes wait time. Prices are standard for this area of Boston. The food was well prepared, and enjoyed by all of us. Service was good just busy. The have a bar area for those not looking for a sit down meal. We will definitely return here. I will make a reservation ahead of time for the next visit. Stephanie's is Located on Newbury Street in Boston, Massachusetts.

My Boston native friend Janelle and New Yorker native me enjoyed the relaxed Fri lunch at Stephanie's with great seafood, wine, and service very much! It was fun to do people watching on Newbury Street while enjoying typical Boston seafood such as New England Clam Chowder and Fish and Chips! This is my new favorite place in Boston!

Stephanie’s on Newbury is a wonderful spot for casual yet upscale dining, offering classic American comfort food with a twist. It has a cozy and stylish atmosphere, perfect for brunch, lunch, or dinner. Their menu is diverse. The outdoor seating is a great option during warmer months, allowing you to enjoy the lively Newbury Street vibe. It’s an excellent place for both locals and visitors to relax and enjoy a good meal in the heart of Boston.

We made reservations for 2 and came in on a Sunday night. The restaurant was relatively quiet and we were seated immediately. Lindsay had the chicken pot pie, which was both gorgeous and delicious. Super creamy and big chunks of well cooked chicken. I ordered the flank steak and parmesan fries. The steak was extremely well cooked, and super tender for a flank steak which is usually more tough, but honestly...the fries were the star of this dish. They were great from the start, but after mixing in with some of the jucies from the steak and the garlic butter, they were just epic. Service was great, and atmosphere was trendy. Can absolutely see how the patio would be packed in the summer. Will definitely be back next time we're in town.

After visiting the Body Worlds exhibit with a group of coworkers (about 15 of us from Balance Spa) the food was amazing, the service was excellent and our food was brought out quickly. I had the fish and chips (best I ever had! The fish batter was crunchy and the fish was flavorful) the appetizer had various things with un ending pita bread for dipping. It completely satisfied our table of 7. I hear the other 8 coworkers loved theirs too!

Always busy on weekends brunch. Friendly and knowledgeable staff made the experience very lively and memorable. The food was delicious and had very generous portions. Hilights were the breakfast skillet and steak and eggs! Would definitely be back again

We had a wonderful meal here! If I could, I would probably give a 4.5, but that’s not an option and it was better than a 4... the only reason I would dock 0.5 points is the crab cakes were not quick lumpy enough for my taste, but the flavor was delicious! We also ordered the wedge salad, which was HUGE and tasty! We also ordered the fish and chips, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. We rounded out our meal with the chocolate cake... drool worthy! When I travel with my mom we always split and the portions were perfect for the split!

S

INCREDIBLE food! Only qualm was that they didn’t have the garlic bread from last time we were here. But the cornbread was great too! The vibe is so neat.

Wow! If you are in Boston, you have to cone here! They have a salted biscuit with the best gravy with Steak tips that tasted like they were right off the grill. The skillets are so good. Mona was our server & she went above and beyond. My son has autism & he is very good with seeing if someone sincerely cares for others. He said Mona was such a sweet server and so nice. She gave exceptional service. The atmosphere is adorable inside. You will love the food

A staple on Newbury street with a nice variety of offerings. Easy to walk in for a weekday lunch, but as a passerby on weekends, I would say a reservation is helpful! I’m constantly coming back to the rice bowl with salmon - you can’t go wrong! Truffle fries were good, too, but many of the fries were small bits. Would have liked some longer fries. Calamari was really good, too. Aw

I loved the food here! It was a delicious meal and really hit the spot. We had the deviled eggs (without pancetta) and grilled cheese!

Wife, daughter and I was her on Saturday after dorm move in. It took 30 minutes for an outside table on a busy sunny day which was quite good. The lobster avocado toast and burrata salad were excellent and the service was good

R

My dad and I stopped in on the 4th of July. We put our names down for a 30 min wait but ended up being seated outside in less than 10. The people watching was great. Our server was amazing - haven’t that great of attention to detail in awhile! We got a couple of cocktails, calamari, tomato and burrata salad, pasta, and a Boston cream pie. Every thing had a lot of flavor and was delicious! Would definitely come back!

Overall it was a nice experience. There were not too many people in Stephanie's the day we visited, but the food might have taken a bit longer than expected to be served. I orderd a Tuna Tartare and a Ceasar salad, my friend ordered some fish and chips, the meal was fulfilling. The portion is good for the price, and the atmosphere is also cozy on a cold day. Great place for brunch.

Always a must for dining when in Boston. Nice menu offerings, great for brunch, superb Bloody Marys and other libations to suit your taste. Fresh and tasty dishes for any time of day dining. Indoor and outdoor dining too.

A

So good! Be warned, the skillet, steak & hash, and breakfast sandwich were extremely generous portions. Huevos Rancheros a little smaller but nicely complemented a “make your own Bloody with cheeseburger”! Will definitely return.

My wife’s friends were visiting from Florida and wanted to try Stephanie’s on Newbury for breakfast on Sunday, November 2nd. Since I’m not familiar with Boston, I called the night before to ask about parking. The young lady who answered the phone was exceptionally friendly and helpful — she gave me several detailed parking options and couldn’t have been nicer about it. I even apologized a few times for asking so many questions, and she said, “Please, no need to apologize! My job is to make sure you have a great experience, and we look forward to seeing you.” That level of care and enthusiasm immediately impressed me. When we arrived the next morning, we were greeted by the hostess, who was just as warm and welcoming. Since the restaurant had just opened for the day, we chatted a bit while waiting to be seated. I asked what she liked on the menu, and she enthusiastically listed a few of her favorite dishes. I could tell she really knew the menu inside and out — her energy and passion set a great tone before we even sat down. Once seated, we were greeted by our server, Mark, who was both extremely professional and genuinely upbeat. The breakfast menu at Stephanie’s is full of tempting options, and I’ll admit, I had a hard time deciding what to order. Mark kindly shared some of his personal favorites and gave thoughtful recommendations. Based on his suggestions, I went with the Huevos Rancheros and also decided to try the Stephi’s Loaded Home Fries after hearing him talk them up. The food was absolutely outstanding. The Huevos Rancheros were bursting with flavor — perfectly cooked eggs, a hearty and flavorful bean base, and a zesty sauce that tied it all together. The Stephi’s Loaded Home Fries were easily some of the best I’ve ever had — crispy on the outside, tender inside, and loaded with all the right toppings. My table also ordered the stack of pancakes, breakfast skillet, sausage, and a slice of Boston Cream Pie — and everyone agreed each dish was over the top good. The pancakes were fluffy and golden, the skillet was hearty and well-balanced, and the sausage had that perfect snap and flavor. The Boston Cream Pie was a showstopper — rich, creamy, and the perfect way to end such a fantastic breakfast. Throughout the meal, Mark was extremely attentive. Even while juggling several tables, he never missed a beat — keeping our coffees and drinks refilled, checking in at just the right moments, and maintaining his upbeat, professional attitude. You could tell he truly enjoys what he does, and that energy made the entire experience even better. All in all, this was a fantastic breakfast experience from start to finish. Even though we live over an hour away, we’re already planning to come back — not only because of the incredible food, but because of the unbelievable customer-focused staff like Mark and the wonderful hostess (whose name I unfortunately didn’t catch). I highly recommend Stephanie’s on Newbury to anyone looking for a fabulous dining experience in Boston. It’s rare these days to find a restaurant where every single team member genuinely cares about making your visit special — but at Stephanie’s, that’s exactly what you’ll get.

Lovely place on Newbury St on the corner. Drinks were awesome and food too.

I usually come to Stephanie's for brunch when I have friends or family visiting. It is a very popular Boston spot, with an airy interior, and great outdoor seating. They have loaded bloody Mary's and all the classic brunch options plus extras like monkey bread. For lunch I love the chicken salad, goat cheese salad, or tuna melt, and dinner is awesome too. It is a little on the pricier side, and I'd recommend making a reservation.

M
Max Cooperman

Pictured are the huevos rancheros and the pancakes. Both were good, but probably not worth waiting 45 minutes since the kitchen seems to be buried during weekend brunch. Huevos ranches portion size was too small and there was no flare to the dish. The pancakes portion size was solid but it’s just pancakes on a plate with butter and syrup on the side, there’s nothing else to it. Overall a fine place but I’ll probably venture elsewhere next time.

What happened to the chocolate sauce that we get to pour all over the Boston cream pie?! That was a real highlight. Please bring it back! Now, the balance of the review. We have been coming here for years, as I lived down the street for quite some time, and then, after we moved away, we come once a year so I can take my nanny out for lunch and a Boston cream pie. This has been a tradition for many years. The highlight, of course, is the Boston cream pie, and this is the first year that it has not been served with a side of chocolate sauce for us to dribble all over it. The server always used to bring out the chocolate sauce and then they would either drizzle it all over it or we would drizzle it all over it, but this time it came out and just seemed to be not nearly as special. The rest of the food is always fine. The service is good. They have a nice selection of seasonal sandwiches and meats and fishes and pastas and other dishes. Depending on the season, we have had salad, deviled eggs, sandwiches etc. But the highlight has always been the aforementioned Boston cream pie. Please look at the photos from 2024 and the photos from 2025. Compare the difference in joy and the difference in the pie itself when it has fresh chocolate poured all over it. Please please please bring back the fresh warm chocolate!

Really good restaurant on Newberry Street. Service and atmosphere was incredible and it was pretty busy so it was great seeing that we were able to be taken care of in that manner. Food was good, just not spectacular. Caesar salad had slightly too much dressing but it didn’t ruin the salad. I would get it again.

Food was great and service was super friendly. Our server, I don’t remember her name 🫣, but she was super friendly and funny. The country Greek salad was really good, the portion size is large! It was very fresh and a good option if you want something that will make you feel light afterwards. The tuna tartare was really good too and the chips it comes with were super crunchy and delicious to pair it up. Thanks for everything.

Food was OK at best. We came at a very busy time (breakfast on a weekend) but was able to get a table for 4 outdoors with no wait time. Price was decent. Waiter was fine up until she did not accept our tip bc it wasn’t enough. I definitely took my tip money back with no hesitation.

Me and my friend went to Stephanie’s to have a great dinner today. To start off, our waitress disappeared for longer periods of time throughout the night (for example we asked for a little more time to choose what to eat and we didn’t see her for like 20 minutes. We had to ask other waiters to order). Once we ordered the food, it came faster than expected. However, we didn’t receive the right order so we had to wait some time until our actual order arrived to the table. Upon getting the right plates, we were faced with crazy large portions. I ate a Rigatoni Bolognese which had at least half a kg of pasta with a matching amount of beef ragout - if not more. My friend got an 8oz tenderloin but it looked it was at least 12oz. At the end, we tried to share a brownie sundae but after two spoons in, we couldn’t eat more. Taste-wise, no complaints. The restaurant was a little dark on the inside, we made the mistake not to sit outside. Prices are as expected on Newbury Street. In summary: only come to Stephanie’s at night if weather does not allow, otherwise try to sit outside to get the best vibe possible; only come when you are so hungry that you can eat an entire horse by yourself; only come if you have enough patience to wait for waiters/food in a half-empty restaurant.

We had brunch here with my family. The food was delicious, and the drinks were great, but the customer service was terrible. We ordered Eggs Benedict, steak tips and eggs, guacamole, pancakes with blueberries, and tuna and salmon tartare. Everything was tasty, but the impolite attitude of the restaurant manager left us with a bad impression. He was rude not only to us but also to the waiter who was serving us.

S
Sara Choi

I came here for a nice lunch with my mom, and we were met with terrible service. Our waiter took our order, then disappeared for a while, and when we were trying to get the bill, we couldn't find him for a solid 20 minutes (I counted). The food itself was not impressive at all, and I'd heard about this restaurant's reputation for terrible food. We ordered Greek salads, my mom ordered hers with shrimp, and I ordered mine with chicken. The shrimp was decent, but the chicken was way overcooked and extremely bland. The salad itself didn't have any lettuce but consisted only of cucumbers and tomatoes. I'm very disappointed in the quality of this restaurant, especially since it's on Newbury street and must get a lot of tourists. This isn't a good representation of Boston hospitality.

C
Chris Derrett

• OK food • Poor service • Poor communication We came in for a late lunch around 2:30 on a Saturday. Unfortunately, the all-day menu was displayed outside the restaurant, and after a 30-minute wait to be seated, we were told they were serving brunch-only and would not be serving the lunch/dinner menu until 3 p.m. (see photo for the menu discrepancy). So we had to order off the brunch menu after expecting to be able to order off the lunch/dinner menu. My wife doesn't drink alcohol, so she asked the waiter if they could make a mocktail. The server answered, "No." So, I had to leave the table, walk to the bar, and order a virgin mojito there. What else was I supposed to do when the server said no to a fairly standard beverage request? The food was a mixed bag. I really enjoyed my steak and eggs - cooked medium rare as ordered, and the over easy egg was fried perfectly. The potatoes in my wife's hash dominated the dish and lacked the crispiness we would have preferred. Overall, our server did not appear to have the capacity to wait on our table with attentiveness, we were misled on the menu, and only one of our meals was satisfying.

E
Eleanor Duda

Over priced food that makes me feel sick every time I've eaten there. Corn bread was so dry and crusty I couldn't eat it. Sandwich was so stuffed it fell apart and the bread was soggy and too thin for the filling. Drink was great, bartender was lovely. Joes across the street is way better quality.

M
Matt Below

Hadn't been in ages. Took the family. Server was great, tho he did completely forget my glass of wine - at least he didn't charge me for it. The best part of the meal was the maple brown butter that came with the cornbread; basically sweet frosting. Wife's steak tips were average at best, not much flavor. Daughter's fish and chips was almost burnt on the outside. Only about 3/4's was edible. My lamb shank was pretty good - super tender - but the "spiced" squash puree was only "spiced" with (brown?) sugar, too sweet. And the fried brussel sprouts were bunt on the outside. Waiter got a new batch, this time they were nicely charred on the outside, raw on the inside. Their fryer is obviously set way too high; hence the dark dark brown fish coating and the burnt/raw brussels. Boston cream pie had nice chocolate coating, but very limited filling. This place used to be great, now clearly a burn and churn, maximizing revenue, limited quality. Too bad.

My wife and I went here for brunch on a cold Saturday morning in Boston. The restaurant was mostly empty, but we were sat right by the large windows and door, so we were freezing cold the entire time, didn’t even take off our jackets. After sitting, I noticed my silverware and side plate were dirty. And a spider fell from the ceiling, landing next to my wife. Service was okay, but fairly slow and impersonal. We ordered the monkey bread to start. Do not order this. It’s a crumbly, flavorless muffin they took out of the oven yesterday and then drizzle with a ridiculous amount of caramel, with the paper wrapping still on! Why not take the wrapper off? We were picking pieces of paper out of our primate pastry persistently. My wife ordered the eggs Benedict, which she reported was “fine”. I ordered the skillet breakfast. I’m not sure if they use a specific cleaner on the cast iron or something, but that slight taste of chemicals was coming through. My biscuit was even more crumbly than the monkey bread and far drier as it was not drowned in caramel sauce. Each bite was a 5 minute conversation interruption as that’s how long it took for my mouth to salivate enough to swallow. The bacon and eggs were fine. The sausage was cold and the casing chewy. And the cheesy house fries felt like cutting through Shelob’s lair to free my Mordor-bound potatoes. And by Mordor-bound, I mean they were very over cooked. I will go out of my way not to eat here again.

A Russian female server’s unfair seating assignment and dismissive attitude made my experience at this restaurant extremely upsetting today. Even though the restaurant wasn’t busy and there were plenty of empty tables, she told me I could only choose between two specific tables — both uncomfortable spots without parasols. I politely asked, “Would it be possible to sit at one of the tables under the parasol instead?” Her response was a firm, “No.” What made this worse was that, right next to me, another solo customer was already seated under a parasol. I couldn’t understand why I was being restricted, and when I asked for an explanation, the server completely ignored my questions. I want to emphasize that the other staff members were kind and tried to assist me, but this specific server continued to treat me with complete disregard. From start to finish, I felt deeply disrespected and humiliated as a paying customer. Finally, I told her directly, “Your behavior is racist and discriminatory.” It was uncomfortable and stressful for me to say this, but I felt it was necessary so that no other customer would have to go through the same unfair treatment. The manager later came over to apologize, and I also received a direct apology from the server. However, this is not an issue that can be resolved with a simple apology. I strongly urge the management to provide proper training so that all customers are treated equally and respectfully, regardless of race or background.

S
Sofia Kaleff

The place is very cozy and the food is good. However, the staff is very rude and I would even say discriminatory. It is the only bar in Boston that has asked me for an ID, and they ONLY asked ME, not any of the other girls who were there – maybe because I am Latina, something to think about. I understand it is a requirement to be over 21 to drink in the US, I am a lawyer in Argentina and almost 27 years old, so I offered to show a photo of my passport since I don’t carry the physical one everywhere for security reasons, and the waitress did not accept it. To make matters worse, when it came time to pay, the card reader stopped working and they took my card away, which is a serious information security risk… especially considering how much they claim to care about the law in other aspects. Overall, very disappointing…

S
Sheldon Gray

I just had the most ignorant interaction with the hostess who I was made aware that is “new”. First and foremost I am a hospitality influencer and restaurateur as well as a full service marketing consultant and event planner not to mention that I serve on multiple boards and committees directly associated with the event and hospitality industry. To be told by the hostess when I sat at the bar, that there is “no” food at the bar is ridiculous. I walked in and told the gentleman standing there I was going to sit at the bar if there wasn’t any food there I am sure he would have indicated this hence why I was confused why she even made it a point to approach me. The young lady walks over and goes “are you eating?” I was very confused by her question as well as the fact that she didn’t even greet me with a “Hello” prior to her ignorance. I stated “If there is food to be offered than I may eat” that’s pretty normal as to why people visit restaurants correct? I am aware of the breakfast to lunch transition as I checked prior to my arrival. She then says “well there is no food at the bar and then rolls her eyes followed by “come” and gestured her hand to get up from my seat and follow her like I’m some animal. This felt targeted and I am highly offended. If I needed to ask any additional questions than Gilberto to bartender would have answered them. This behavior is highly unacceptable especially in an establishment as “prestigious” as Stephanie’s on Newbury Street. I am a Boston native and staple in the food and marketing scene and have trained and developed multiple establishments and a huge network of restaurant staff. I requested to speak to a manager - MAX. That transaction was lack luster at best, bringing up the fact that she’s new is not my issue that is a coaching moment and should be apart of the core values. I get it, it’s time to ramp up the hiring however spend time with your staff to understand the do’s and don’t of customer service as Max mentioned how long Stephanie’s has been on Newbury Street - again, I am well aware of the reputation. People take time out of there day to curate and navigate their atmosphere hence I selected to stop at Stephanie’s prior to my meeting with a client. The best part was the bartender Gilberto on the shift who was completely attentive and a high sense of customer service and urgency. He deserves 5+ Stars. Chowder - Delicious Caesar Salad - Great Certainly some work to do. I’ll try again next time.

Was so excited about this place, especially after the warm welcome we got at the host stand! Unfortunately, the service and food we received was far below the expectation considering the price. For a $20 sandwich, I shouldn’t be finding full HAIRS in my food. My friend’s allergy to dairy shouldn’t be overlooked and require remaking her entree. My husband’s cocktail shouldn’t be missing items. Service was pretty slow all around, generally disappointing.

S
Stacy Morabito

We were seated at the banquette right when you walk in the door. About 5 minutes after our food was served a small cockroach ran across the table. We were able to kill it and let the waiter know what happened. No manager came over, they comped nothing (8 person table and no one had eaten even half of their meal) and we had to sit there with a dead cockroach on our table for 10 minutes waiting for the check. As we were leaving I could see a ton of crumbs and food in the crevice between the top and bottom of the banquette. No wonder there's bugs! Absolutely disgusting.
