Opinions de Luke's Lobster Bloomfield
Was here for the lobster roll and it didn’t disappoint. Was expecting a hot lobster roll but it was actually cold. But nevertheless it was really fresh and amazing. We ordered the trio which also consisted of a crab roll and shrimp roll. Both was equally amazing. Would definitely recommend this place for a quick lobster roll fix.
The lobster roll flight was soo tasty!🦞You get 3 mini lobster rolls: 1 classic butter and seasoning, 1 hot honey & 1 truffle butter. The truffle butter roll was my favorite, but the hot honey was also really special!🍋🫐I also enjoyed sipping my Luke’s blueberry lemonade made with honey!🍯Atmosphere was great, plenty of seating and outdoor options.
The smell of chowder and lobster when I walked into the store really sets the mood for a casual seafood meal. I followed the sign and ordered Luke’s favorite (because I cannot decide) and was not disappointed. Their salad tasted fresh and dressing was flavorful. The manager is very friendly and personable. They also have strong AC and clean restrooms.
LOBSTER ROLL! Bread was buttery and golden brown and toasty warm. Lobster was Maine style cold and super yummy and filling. The STAFF was incredibly friendly and one guy (Carlo, I believe) went so far out of his way for me! I forgot my wallet, so he suggested he’ll pay for the meal and I Venmo him the money! Brilliant!!! So great!! Highly recommend!
Came to Boston for a meeting and stayed at a nearby hotel and found this gem. Ordered the Luke’s Lobster Roll (6oz) with a side of Cole slaw. Lot’s of big pieces of lobster. Will try the warm version next as it sounds juicier. Highly recommended.
We really enjoyed our lunch at Luke’s! They have gluten free options too! I had the GF seafood sandwich flight with lobster bisque and it was delicious! I don’t know how that bread is so soft and still GF! My non GF spouse really enjoyed his meal as well. Service was super friendly. Lots of locals eating there.
We got 2 6oz lobster rolls with drinks, one with a side of slaw and the other with a slide of lobster bisque. The roll was served cold. Total came to about $80 after tip; a wee bit pricey but completely worth it! Not crowded on a Wednesday around 6:30pm. Try dipping the last bites of your roll in the bisque to double up on that yummy lobster flavor--A+!
Food was excellent. Purchased the trio- a lobster roll, crab roll and shrimp roll. All good, especially the shrimp roll. Lobster Mac and cheese was also good- especially with the bread crumbs on top. Lobster bisque was not my favorite- but still good. Quick, fast casual type restaurant where you order at the register and they bring it to you.
I’ve only ordered online (and 3rd party apps) but every time, the rolls are a hit. The lightly buttered and toasted brioche rolls with plenty of seafood stuffed in. They serve style where the crab and lobster are chilled. However, you could pour hot/warm butter on top. Very filling (6oz) and comes with a bag of chips.
Tucked right behind the Boston library is this gem of a location. They are certified B Corp and disclose where their food is sourced. Pair with a Maine's blueberry lemonade and you have the best lobster roll lunch! The Lobster bisque is delicious too. Several tables, window bar seats, and clean bathrooms.
I flew into the NE for work and thought how awesome it would be to get some lobster. I have a gluten allergy and saw that this place offers gf bread and bisque so I decided to drive over an hour to come here and try the rolls. When I got here, the server said they just ran out. When he saw the look of sadness, he ran to the back and found a case. I was ecstatic (not even being dramatic). To say it was worth the drive was an understatement. Wow! One of the most delicious things I have eaten. Everything was so good!
Luke's lobster has very reliably good lobster rolls, clam chowder and lobster bisque. The ratio of meat to bun in the 6 oz lobster roll is fantastic, and the quality of the lobster meat is top notch. The roll is filled with big chunks of lobster, including lots of claw. I have ordered from here year round and the rolls are always really good, even when out of season. The environment is no-frills, but nice and clean. I have also ordered takeout and deliver many times and likely since I like so close (less than ten minutes away) it is still really great, even when not eating it in the restaurant.
The way that they seasoning the rolls just amazing! I will highly recommend order the 3 rolls combo one. But just for heads up, the shrimp was not that fresh as I can tell it's a little watery which only the seafood that has even frozen for a long time would have. But overall it's a great dinning experience here.
A fun way to enjoy lobster rolls - Luke's Lobster was recommended by many people on my trip to Boston so I wanted to stop by. I was curious to try the crab rolls, which I loved MORE than the lobster roll! Ordered the lobster & crab roll Luke's way (mayo, butter, lemon) and it was perfectly seasoned - not too heavy on the flavors. The buttered roll was sooo delicious and make sure to dip in the clam chowder. Clam chowder is classic, with more potatoes than clams...but def order as part of the combo set. It's a fast casual type restaurant - you order and pick your chips/drink, servers were friendly and restaurant is chill and open! Lots of solo diners hopping in for lunch, and I enjoyed the solo experience!
Bought one lobster flight and one seafood flight. I asked for the lobsters to be warm. They were all great. Lobsters with butter sauces are definitely 10/10. Also their cranberry soda was amazing. Definitely visiting again.
Lobster was absolutely amazing and perhaps one of the best lobster rolls in Boston. Price on the expensive side, but thats the way the cookie crumbles with lobster. 1) 6 oz lobster roll - absolutely delicious and packed to the brim with lobster. Not too much mayo and sauce - just the right amount. 5/5 2) Lobster Bisque soup - very delicious, with good amounts of lobster chunks in it. Creamy texture and a good pairing with the lobster roll if you want a soup/sandwich pairing. 5/5 Service was very nice and friendly. Felt very laid back and low-stress environment.
Only fairly priced lobster roll left in Boston IMO, the rest have gone the route of using MP (market price) so they can hide their $50+ price tag. While not the grandest and fanciest rolls, Luke's is excellent for the $24 per 4oz. Most of my party got the hot version, while I opted for the limited Hot Honey version (cold) for my sweet tooth. It was really interesting and good, but I think I would go for the sampler next time if trying new flavors. The Lobster Chowder was really great, I would definitely recommend that over the Clam Chowder.
Fantastic place for real fresh seafood. Hands down recommend the lobster roll. Seasonally they get some nice menu items like the snow crab roll. The crab roll and shrimp roll are good as well. Can generally get your dinner for under $20-$25. The line may look long at times but it goes by very fast. The chowders are great too! Can’t really go wrong here. Give it a try!
Food was amazing and the staff was beyond kind and accommodating of my food allergies (dairy, gluten, egg). They have gluten free rolls for their sandwiches including the samplers!! Will be frequenting here and highly recommend. Order at counter and grab a seat. Bus your own tables. Good, laid back atmosphere with bomb food!
When in Boston, naturally I had to try a lobster roll! I ordered the honey lobster roll per the recommendation of the cashier and it was very good. There was an amazing amount of lobster piled on! As a side, I ordered clam chowder and that was extra comforting on a rainy day. The restaurant is fast casual. Service was good.
The lobster rolls were definitely good. We got them chilled since that is the traditional way, but we will definitely be going back to try them warm next time as we were not over-the-moon impressed. All that being said, they met our expectations and the smaller size (4oz) along with the free chips was perfectly satiating. There is also a gluten free lobster roll for anyone that needs it, and it was very good(1st picture).
Addy and Justin are great, they're always helpful and their information about the menu us clear and precise. I wish more places had representatives like them, they're great at what they do. Food is exceptional for a chain. This is the kind of place that you want to visit: it's quality food, very clean and has a great vibe!.
coming from someone who doesn't love lobster rolls, this place is pretty good! the staff was very friendly, and food was quick. one thing that i don't like about lobster rolls is the buttery flavored lobster, so if you're like me, i highly recommend the lobster roll flight. the three flavors are delicious (my favorite was the spicy honey) and it comes w/ chips and drink. definitely stop by and try it out!
Was in Boston for just three days for a conference and my hotel was across the street. Decided to give the lobster roll and clam chowder a try. The lobster was so fresh and the seasoning - a special Luke’s seasoning - made the roll out of this world. Our family used to go to Maine in the summers and this was absolutely nostalgic—the atmosphere is very simple but that’s fitting since usually you eat a lobster roll in Maine sitting at a weathered picnic table or on the curb (Luke’s is far nicer than that!). Also enjoyed talking with the owner, who when she learned I was visiting from out of country, gave me some packets of their secret seasoning to take back with me. If you visit the store, ask them about how they source their lobster—you’ll understand why their lobster is next level. Next time I return to Boston, I plan to revisit Luke’s!
Everything was spectacular at Luke’s Lobster! The lobster roll was amazing—fresh, juicy, and full of flavor. Service was quick and friendly, and the place was clean and well-organized. You can really taste the quality and care in every detail. A must-visit if you’re in town. I’d come back without a doubt. Highly recommended for seafood lovers!
Tried a lobster roll for the first time and had a great experience! The staff were super friendly and helpful — they even offered a kid’s portion so I could try it out. The lobster was perfectly cooked, the sauce was flavorful, and the bun was soft and fresh. Everything tasted amazing. No regrets at all — definitely recommend it!
Luke’s Lobster Back Bay is a great spot located in downtown Boston, and it is definitely worth checking out if you are in the mood for lobster rolls. That was exactly what I was craving, and I was pleasantly surprised to see that they offer a flight of lobster rolls, which includes three different styles served together with chips and a drink. All three rolls were fantastic, and I honestly could not pick a favorite because each one was so good. It was exactly the kind of meal I was hoping to find during my visit to Boston. If you are looking for a place to enjoy fresh, flavorful lobster rolls, I think you will really enjoy Luke’s Lobster Back Bay. I highly recommend giving it a try.
After exploring the stunning Boston Public Library, we need a quick bite for lunch, luckily, Luke’s Lobster Back Bay was just around the corner. The place is very clean and has a chill beachside vibe. We ordered the Seafood Roll Flight, which was perfect for sampling everything. The lobster roll was very fresh, and both the crab and shrimp were packed with flavor. The drinks were also unique and refreshing, what a nice surprise! For a fast casual spot, the experience is exceptional. Highly recommended if you’re in the area and want something quick but satisfying.
A cozy and welcoming spot with quick service and an easy-to-navigate menu. I tried the Seafood Roll Flight—lobster, crab, and shrimp—and each one was packed with flavor. Definitely worth trying if you want a little taste of everything. Also had Luke’s warm Lobster Roll, and it was outstanding: buttery, tender lobster in a perfectly toasted bun. Both dishes came with chips and a soft drink, making it a satisfying combo. Staff were friendly and made the experience even better. A great place for a casual seafood fix!
First time visiting all the way from California. I really wanted a delicious yummy cup of bisque soup, which was what I got when I came here. It wasn’t filled with chunks of lobster like I wanted, but it was still yummy all the same especially when you eat it with the crackers that the soup comes with. Customer service was really good and tons of lobster rolls options on the menu as well. I also got the blueberry lemonade, which is a drink made in the state of Maine. Overall, a wonderful experience and a wonderful location in Boston. I highly recommend and I’ll return the next time I visit Boston.
The crab rolls are the best! service was amazing, the staff provided warm and friendly service and made great recommendations. The place is nice and cozy and gave me the feeling of being at sea.
Got the lobster flight. lobster was so tender a c having the different flavors was fun. Chowder was creamy and delicious. Made sure to review so I order here again.

These lobster rolls and clam chowder were very delicious. The atmosphere is a fast casual place but you are dropping $40-45 per person for a lobster roll, potato chips, and a bottled beverage.

Got my roll with truffle butter upon arrival in Boston for a late lunch. Always perfection! Pricey but oh so worth it! lobster meat, bread and the butter make a simple but perfect trifecta!

The food is good and probably better when it's eaten hot and fresh. I picked up my order a bit later than I wanted to so it got cold by the time I got home. Not their fault. The lobster roll trio was great and we think the truffle butter was the best. The spicy one wasn't spicy at all though and the lemon one was the least liked of the trio. The snow crab was great as well. They all had a lot of filling/meat for their size. The cole slaw was lemony. The blueberry lemonade has a strong honey flavor. Lobster grilled cheese was extremely filling and more than enough for 1 person. Overall, we were satisfied for lunch for 2ppl/$78 pretax. Knocked off 1 star due to the girl at the counter. The guy at the counter was initially helping me. The girl next to him grabbed it and put it on the counter very fast in a rude way. I don't think she purposely slammed it but it was still kind of rude. I said thanks anyways and only the guy smiled back. I will come back another day to try the lobster bisque and the Jonah crab roll. Downside: hard to find parking at back bay
A very chill seafood place. Ordered Seafood Trio, which includes lobster roll, snow crab roll, and schrimp roll. Loved lobster and snow crab ones the most. Though they don’t look like a lot, but actually quite filling with all the butter and meaty seafood. The location is right across from the public library, around the corner from Lindt, very easy to reach.
Overall: Quick, easy, and delicious! Luke's is a must if you're in the mood for lobster but don't need a waited-on experience. The good: The lobster roll was incredible. Not too buttery, well portioned, and stuffed into fresh bread. Other rolls that I've had used poor bread and it really does make a difference. The mac n cheese that we ordered was equally as delicious with hefty chunks of lobster spread throughout. The cole slaw wasn't mayo based, which was refreshing and paired well with the roll. Lastly, the cookies (extra $$), while expensive, were a perfect note to end on. The atmosphere is easy and straightforward, just walk in, order, and sit down. The not-so-good: The prices are a bit too much if you're coming for lunch or a casual dinner, and we spent $65 for two people. They didn't have any fries which I was craving to go along with my roll, just chips (probably better for my health anyway). The mac n cheese took a bit to come out too, roughly 10 mins. Atmosphere: 8/10 Service: 9/10 Food: 9/10
This was a great, quick stop on our trip to Boston! I got the 4oz lobster roll, Maine style and really enjoyed it. I also enjoyed the coastal decor/atmosphere. One thing to note is that they don’t have free water, you have to buy a bottle of water, but they did have some fun sodas and other drink options. This is a great option if you’re looking for something quicker than a standard sit down restaurant.
What a great meal we had at Luke’s for lunch. We had a Gluten Free Spicy Honey Butter Lobster Roll, which was spectacular! We also had a Gluten Free Traditional Lobster Roll. A good recommendation would be the Spicy Honey Butter Lobster Roll over Traditional Also wish our dishes we ordered the Lobster Bisque and Clam Chowder. This was a great stop for lunch!
This is a very casual and no-nonsense dining establishment. Plain and simple, the lobster rolls are awesome. The clam chowder is okay, but you can definitely find better. Great value for the price.
I had a Layover in Boston, craving some lobsters roll and chowda! This place was wicked good. Modern atmosphere, great truffle lobsta roll, good music playing on speakers. Staff was nice and service was fast. If you need to scratch that lobster itch and your are not too close to the water, this is the place for you. I came in at 3pm between rushes so it was fairly quiet with no wait for service.
This was a good lobster roll but not the most flavorful or best one I've ever had. The place was underwhelming, but that's okay. It's more of a lobster shack kind of a feel. I'd still recommend trying it out because I know everyone's tastes are different, and it was still a good sandwich.
Went to Luke's for lunch whilst visiting Boston. I was excited to try the 3 half roll combo. My daughter just went for the lobster roll, I wished I did the same. The 3 combo was really disappointing, the crab wasn't great, tasted a bit watery. I was hoping for lumps of crab but it was just like shredded. The shrimp had lots of small shrimp, and tasted nice. Again would have preferred slightly larger shrimp/prawns. The lobster roll was full of lobster and was really nice, therefore I wished I had just gone for that. Also why don't lobster rolls have any salad, maybe that is how they come but a bit of salad would have really made those rolls. The clam chowder was tasty and did have clams in it, but for me could have been a bit thicker in consistency. Why don't you sell fries, really could have done with some to go with my rolls? Overall nice lunch spot with good quality lobster rolls.
Tried the Seafood Roll Flight and Blueberry Lemonade. The lobster one is definitely the best and tastes really fresh. The crabmeat one is a little bit salty, and our least favorite is the shrimp one, it tastes completely like frozen shrimp. The drink is quite unique too. It's just that the service is very slow; it took them more than 15 minutes to take my order when there were no customers ahead of us.
I tried the sampler with lobster, crab, and shrimp, which came with a free drink and chips. The seafood was flavorful, and the buttered bread was a nice touch. They really did a great job bringing out the best in the seafood. The only downside was that it was served a bit too cold, which took away from the overall experience.
I'm not a real lobster roll fan, so my comment is somewhat skewed. I did like the variety of small rolls to get an idea of each, lobster, crab and shrimp. Got me, I guess is the meat was warm, I might like a little more. Surprisingly, I had the kids hotdog and loved it. I think it's mostly the toasted bread...lol
Luke's Lobster features lobster rolls overflowing with fresh chunks of lobster meat in butter and lemon, served on a toasted, buttery split-top bun. The clam chowder is creamy and comforting. Portions were small and kind of pricey. Service is friendly and efficient and the decor is very nautical. It's a great place for a quick lunch or a light dinner.

As someone who was visiting from out of town, I had been eagerly anticipating my meal at Luke's Lobster. However, I found the food to be just alright after trying it. Specifically, I found the lobster less juicy and meaty than I had anticipated, resulting in a somewhat chewy texture that lacked substance. Additionally, I found the flavour to be rather bland and the lobster itself to be quite oily. While my experience at Luke's Lobster could have been better, I ultimately found it underwhelming.
Took an order to-go, pretty straightforward although it felt like everything was an extra charge... I mean, c'mon, $0.25 for a pickle? That should just go with the $30 crab roll or lobster roll you just bought... honestly. Crab rolls are better. Clam chowder is excellent, nice and thick and creamy. Definitely a treat, but expensive for a day-to-day meal.
Wanted some quick fix lobster roll so decided to try this place out. We ordered the lobster roll with clam chowder and lobster bisque. With the order came free drink so we tried a local lemonade and root beer. The latter is definitely a winner. The entire meal cost almost ~$50 which seemed ok for lobster. The roll itself is main style meaning the roll is warmed with butter but the meat remains cold. I prefer the meat to be warmed too imo.
I was planning to eat at Lobstah on a Roll, but the prices were similar, so I decided to try Luke’s. I got the warm regular 4oz lobster roll combo with a large clam chower and blueberry soda. The chowder and soda were great, but the prices are steep!! $26 for a 4oz lobster roll is fairly standard, but I’m not sure the taste lived up to the price. That might just be the case for lobster rolls for me now though. Is it really worth it?

Been loving Luke’s for a long while and this was the first time they let me down. Today’s lobster roll tasted like those frozen pre-cooked lobster meat and there was even one piece felt raw to me (jelly-like texture). And my stomach is not feeling well too.. I hate to leave bad reviews but I really hope they can improve on their consistency of quality by the next time I visit.
Would you pay $38 for a minuscule lobster roll flight that has only 460 calories?! Well I did so you don’t have to! Save your money and your appetite. Our thought was, “when in Rome”. Well we did it so we don’t have to ever do it again. Done and dusted and I don’t see what the hype is. Also they don’t serve any normal drinks only yuppie stuff. I’ll stick to my $12 California burrito. West coast best coast.
My family of 4 dined here because we wanted lobster rolls in Boston. The lobster rolls were decent, but not worth the price and maybe not the atmosphere either! I have had lobster rolls in Jersey City at a similar price point, but theirs is huge and fresher compared to this one. Here are my 2 cents if you want to dine. My brother and I got the 6 oz ($39) and it didn’t look much different from our parent’s 4 oz ($28), but was $11 more. You can see in the picture (my 6 oz roll in the front and the 4 oz in the back). It also didn’t make us feel any different because we were all not full afterwards. Also, getting the lobster warm cost an extra $1… !! The chips were also just the Cape Cod Kettle. I thought it would be put together nicely on my plate for the price point, but it was self-served. The service was also cold. I’m going to be nice and say we’re prob just used to NY/NJ friendliness when it comes to service. But, since it’s our first time here, we didn’t know you just sit down and pay up front. No staff bother to say anything. Also, they weren’t rude or anything when we ordered, just cold and borderline annoyed like a “what do you want”. So, although I tipped on the $120, I shouldn’t have at all. That’s saying something. That’s just sad. All-in-all, very very disappointed and will NOT recommend. It is a SCAM from the small amount of lobster (+ cold) at $40 to poor service.
When picking the DoorDash order, I asked if utensils were inside the bag, and they said everything was inside. When I opened the bag, apparently there wasn’t. Thanks for giving me a soup without a spoon. They stapled the bag and didn’t let me open it. Otherwise I could have found the utensils were missing in the bag. I regret tipping when I placed the order. I don’t recommend this place. Awful service. Unfriendly staff. ——— There’s no such an option for utensils on DoorDash. If you are the manager, you should know what your store’s order system looks like.
I walked in at about 8:45 pm to ask whether my friend and I could be seated. The staff told us that they were closing soon and that the kitchen was closed. Two girls walked in just minutes later, ordered food, were well tended to by staff, and sat down. The staff brought them food and they sat down to eat just 2 minutes before closing. Seems like the kitchen wasn’t so closed after all.
I was very disappointed with the level of staffing and food quality control in your restaurant. I ordered 2 lobster rolls through Uber Eats. I wanted to eat warm food, so even though I added the express delivery option. But the foods were delivered very cold. It must be lobster flesh that was just taken out of the refrigerator and not cold during delivery. I can swear to God that anyone who works in your restaurant can't enjoy these. Don't let these terrible things happen to anyone else again, or you'll pay the price one day.
Had high hopes to try this place but never ordering from here again. The butter was fully frozen solid. The lobster roll itself was super dry and didn’t have any of the mixing (mayo, seasoning, etc) that it was supposed to come with and didn’t look or taste very fresh. Super disappointing for almost a $40 order
