This spot is a fantastic choice for a night out in Boston. I always appreciate when the atmosphere and the food are equally impressive, and this place truly delivers on both. Every dish we tried was delicious, the cocktails were on point, and the service really stood out. Our server, Izzy, was wonderful—warm, attentive, and full of helpful suggestions that made ordering easy and fun. She made us feel genuinely taken care of throughout the evening. From start to finish, the experience felt polished yet welcoming. It’s the kind of place you leave already planning your next visit, and I’ll absolutely be returning.

Amazing restaurant! My boyfriend and I went for our anniversary and were so pleased. Vibes were amazing, music was amazing, our waitress was amazing, and the food and drinks were beyond it! We got the S’moretini, espresso martini, blackened salmon tacos, their rasta pasta with oxtail and shrimp, and their dulce de leche lava cake. We absolutely recommend and plan to go back soon. Especially for that dessert!

Where can I begin on talking about a place like this. With it being located in Boston’s Downtown Crossing the Estella Interior has a nice nighttime vibe to it. On to the food and drink I had, I first ordered the Strawberry Spritz which has an amazing sugary rush towards it’s taste. For my entrée I had the Worrell Rasta Pasta Special and The Pasta was a terrific delight to eat. For Dessert I had the Churro Waffles which also comes with Vanilla Ice Cream topped with Coconut shavings, Chocolate Sauce, Whipped Cream, and Powdered Sugar which just filled me up. Estella is without a doubt one of the Best Black Restaurants and Restaurants Overall in Boston.

Highly recommend! We were just visiting Boston for the night and picked Estella’s. We didn’t have to make a reservation or wait to be sat. The ambiance of the restaurant was awesome, low light and good music playing. Our Waitress, Izzy, elevated the entire experience with a very bubbly charismatic personality. The food and drinks were so delicious, especially the Lava cake dessert. Overall a 10, can’t believe we found a gem our first night in Boston.

Estella was a fantastic place for dinner in downtown Boston. We didn’t have a reservation but were welcomed regardless and were able to be seated immediately. The service from Rim was impeccable. She honestly made our night. She was so sweet and accommodating. One of the best servers I’ve had- and as a restaurant manager myself it’s always refreshing to see. Thank you for a great night!

Enjoyable dinner experience! We just arrived to Boston and walk into Estella without a reservation. The hostess was so sweet and was able to accomodate us! While taking us to our table, she described her favorite food. We did took her advices and…glad we did. We ordered the candie brussel sprouts…oh my…delicious. I ordered the lobster ravioli while my husband ordered the shorty and marsh and we topped it with the Dulce lava cake. Everything was so tasteful and our service was wonderful! Looking for a place to go with great ambiance; good service and exquisite food…give it a try!!

We had a blast! Lena was our server and she was very polite, attentive and informative. She shared suggestions for apps and was super engaging and fun! Waited on a lot of large tables but never disappeared. The food was wonderful, as were the cocktails. A great team clearing plates and refilling water frequently. Our first time there and it was home run! Got us out in time to hit the theatre after. Thanks again, Lena! Our rousing “happy birthday” renditions with the light show was a riot every round!

Romantic low lighting very homey inside. Service was good could have been a little bit better with clearing of the table after appetizers along with water refills. Food was incredible, seasoning, presentation and portions were perfect. Will definitely be returning. Little hidden gem ❤️ right in the heart of everything. Walking distance from our hotel room.

My friends & I attended brunch here yesterday afternoon. I ordered the Lobster Egg & Cheese Croissant & the Side Swipe Cocktail. Everything was delicious. The atmosphere was beautiful & our server Jasmine was very nice & attentive ❤️ The only problem was parking. There wasn’t anything available on the street, so we had to park in the garage, which was $26 for 3 hours.

I am a fan. Loved the rasta pasta. It's on the spicy side. Be cautious if you are ordering it. Salmon tacos were good as well. The eggplant was OK. Overall, it was very good. Wait staff was very attentive.

Went with a group of 8. Food was good. I also got the street corn on the cob, it was cold. I would've preferred them hot.

Came here for Taco Tuesday and a margarita! The birria tacos were delicious, they had a lot of flavor and it was a decent size portion. I also recommend the Turn up the heat! Margarita, also delicious and just the right amount of spice. It’s very pretty inside, I really liked the decor and overall atmosphere!

I celebrated my birthday dinner at Estella downtown and had a wonderful experience. The manager, Ro, went out of her way to accommodate us even though I arrived late and she kept my guests entertained and comfortable the entire time. Our server was incredibly patient, attentive, and such a joy to be around. Truly a memorable night! Highly recommend.

Had a great dinner with a few friends here. Our server Izzy was extremely attentive, friendly, and overall enhanced our experience with her infectious energy. Th food was solid and we especially loved the bang bang cauliflower and yucca fries. The decor and atmosphere was loungey and definitely had a fun vibe.

This place was really good and the service was great. The mussels were cooked perfectly, and the Portuguese seafood soup was absolutely delicious. I initially ordered a dry martini with Belvedere vodka and it didn’t seem like Belvedere, but I mentioned it to my waitress and she had it fixed right away. Overall, a very nice experience.

Great experience my first time here for our friends birthday dinner. As a vegetarian the options are amazing and I cannot wait to try more. I had the mediterranean vegan mushroom ravioli as well as the cauliflower. Both were delicious! ✌️

My dining experience at Estella was elevated from excellent to extraordinary thanks to our server, Ana. From the moment we were seated, her warmth and professionalism set the tone for the entire evening. Ana possesses a remarkable knowledge of both the menu and the cocktail list. She guided us through the seasonal dishes with genuine passion, offering perfect recommendations that suited our preferences (her suggestion of the signature salmon dish was a life-changing highlight!). Her attention to detail was impeccable—she noticed when we were deliberating between two cocktails and offered a little taste of each to help us decide.

A great place to dine for an evening out in Boston! I love when the food matches the vibes, and this place doesn’t miss! Good was great, drinks were great, and phenomenal customer service. Izzy was our server and she was so sweet, attentive, and provided great recommendations. I’ll definitely be coming back

We celebrated my birthday dinner yesterday , December 19, 2025, with a group of 10 people, and everything was wonderful. Linda was our server and she was very nice, friendly, and attentive. Her service was amazing and made the night even more special. The food was also very good. Thank you for a great experience!

Here’s a NED-style review of Estella Restaurant (Brooklyn, NY): --- ✅ What Works Well - Creative, upscale New American cuisine with global influences — dishes are thoughtful and beautifully plated. - Ingredients are fresh and seasonal, showcasing local produce and quality proteins. - The tasting menu offers a well-curated experience with interesting flavor combinations. - Cozy yet elegant atmosphere, great for date nights or special occasions. - Attentive and knowledgeable service enhances the dining experience. --- 👎 What to Watch Out For - Higher price point, especially with tasting menus — not for casual dining or budget-conscious. - Portions can be small, as is typical with fine dining tasting menus. - Limited seating means reservations are a must, especially on weekends. - Some diners mention pacing of courses can be slow. --- 🎯 Verdict Estella is a standout for those seeking an elevated, creative dining experience in Brooklyn — ideal for celebrations or foodies who enjoy exploring inventive dishes. Best for: Special occasions, food adventurers, intimate dinners. Less ideal for: Casual meals, large groups, or quick dining. Rating: 4.5 / 5 --- Need recommendations on must-try dishes or wine pairings?

Every single member of the staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a great experience! We had Lena as our waitress and she was amazing! The food was delicious too, great options. We got the hummus platter to start and that was my favorite!

Our party of 6 arrived at our reserved time and we were immediately seated downstairs for dinner. Despite other comments stating that it is loud, we did not experience that at all. The vibe was great and only enhanced by our server, Izzy. She was fantastic and took care of our every need and request. She made some great suggestions on entree options for a couple of us who were unsure on what to order. All six dishes came out at the same time and each meal was hot and very flavorful. Izzy checked in on us just enough to take care of additional drinks and made some suggested the perfect desserts without being overbearing or making us feel rushed. We will be asking for her table the next time we visit Estella Boston!

What a fantastic dining experience! The moment we walked in, Callie, the manager, made us feel so welcome with her fun, friendly, and upbeat energy. It really sets the mood for the whole place, and you can tell the staff feed off that vibe — everyone was attentive and cheerful. The bartender was great too, offering excellent suggestions for appetizers that really hit the mark with our taste preferences. Everything about the evening felt effortless yet special, from the food to the service. The atmosphere is lively but still easygoing, making it a perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal. Between the great food, amazing drinks, and the staff’s fun energy, this has quickly become one of my favorite spots to dine. Can’t wait to come back!

Michelle truly made our experience at Estella unforgettable. From the moment we were seated, she was warm, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable about the menu. Her recommendations were spot-on, and she took the time to explain dishes and drinks in a way that made us even more excited to order. She checked in at all the right moments without ever feeling intrusive, and her positive energy really elevated the entire meal. You can tell she genuinely cares about her guests and takes pride in what she does. Estella is lucky to have her—service like Michelle’s is what keeps people coming back. Highly recommend asking for her!

I had an excellent dining experience. It all starts with the manager Callie. She has a friendly, very fun, loving vibe that really adds to the dining experience. It seems to permeate through the entire staff. The bartender was very fun as well and had some excellent suggestions on appetizers that would fit our pallets. I had a Peruvian dish for dinner that featured wahoo sashimi, lobster, and shrimp connected by an excellent chili sauce. One of the best meals I ever had in the Caribbean.

Sitting at the bar alone, as a female it’s a bit overwhelming but the bartenders at the bar made it so easy and made sure I was well taken care of. Especially the girls Jessica and Ana. They made me feel so comfortable. Always checking in on me, refreshing my water. The drinks were amazing. They messed up on my plate, a minor inconvenience and the girls made sure to correct it. I love that. They were sweet and so kind. Completely recommend this restaurant especially for solo dates. And the girls at the bar were amazing.

S
Sophia Perucchi

Amazing! Literally cannot recommend enough. The food was interesting and high quality, and we had the sweetest waitress who totally made my night. The DESSERT also! If I can recommend one thing, please get the brownie cookie sundae as it is one of the best desserts I've EVER had. It is actually so good that I still think about it. SO SO GOOD!

The restaurant has a great atmosphere and an excellent menu, making it a wonderful place to dine. What truly made the experience stand out, though, was our server Ana. Her service was outstanding from start to finish, and her recommendations were perfect. She was attentive, friendly, and made the whole meal even better. If you come here, be sure to ask for Ana, you’ll be glad you did!

Nice vibe and right around the corner from the theaters. Sat at the bar and the bartender was great. Full bar with a few craft cocktails. The Ahi tuna and calamari appetizers were excellent! I had the short rib and my wife had the salmon both were top notch!

Came here for a girls night before a show at the opera house and we had an amazing night! The restaurant is very chic with dim lighting - very cool and trendy atmosphere. The service was top-notch. We were regularly checked on by management. The drinks were chef's kiss! Such a great selection and everyone loved their cocktails. Warning though: the spicy margarita is SPICY. Probably the spiciest I've ever had. We enjoyed apps like the bang bang cauliflower, calamari, and truffle fries. Lobser ravioli was delicious and a great value. The desserts were so ooey gooey good. Loved this place - it deserves a higher rating. Apparently it turns into more of a nightclub atmosphere later into the night so I can't comment on that, but I'd definitely recommend a dinner here before a show!

We loved Estella from the moment we walked in! The staff were all welcoming and friendly from the hosts to the runners. It is evident that they work as a team and are invested in the diners' overall experience. Our server, the fabulous Gio greeted us and guided us through the menu. We chose the cocktail special called Pear Me Another which is a delicious gin and pear drink similar to a mojito. We enjoyed the hummus plate appetizer which was also yummy. For our entrees we chose the rib eye and the chicken Milanese, both huge portions and cooked perfectly. Gio was attentive, fun to chat with and certainly made our dinner enjoyable. It was a pleasure to dine at Estella and we'd love to return.

T
Terence Michale

Loved the cocktail menu! Liquor to sweetness is balanced and consistent. And we had the chicken wings - sweet and spicy sauce was kicking and finger linking good! Shout out to Julie! She answered all of our questions and took care of us promptly! Will definitely come back again to try the pasta and ribs!

Incredible food, lively atmosphere, and our server was very friendly and energetic. Minus one star because a different server put her hand on my inner thigh when asking if our table wanted to order drinks.

I recently had my birthday dinner here with friends and the food was pretty good. Service was alright. Atmosphere was nice. It took some time to order food after receiving our drinks. Half of the table received food while others had to wait some time. And we had to ask someone else to bring over utensils.

R
Ray Venezia

The food here was absolutely delicious. We started with the mac and cheese and the bang bang cauliflower. Both were tasty and hard to stop eating. Next for the entrees, Seafood Chandelier Pasta had Jumbo shrimp, wild scallops, PEI mussels, champagne cream, chopped herbs and spaghetti. It was rich and delicious. I couldn't eat all the spaghetti especially after the appetizers. The Chicken Milanese with Panko chicken, garlic-lemon aioli, arugula, cherry tomatoes, roasted corn, shaved parmesan was also good. Our server Anna was so nice. She took good care of us and helped even when one of our drinks wasn't so good, it was just a seltzer but it tasted like dishwater. If you do like sweet cocktails, definitely get the Taste Like Candy cocktail. Smooth and satisfying. I could have drank 4 of these. All in all a great place for dinner, although, don't sit next to the AC vents on the upper level, it was freezing.

I recently came to Estella for dinner to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. It was such an amazing experience. The restaurant is very intimate and cozy, although seating is a little tight. The staff was phenomenal and always checked in on us. Our waitress, Ari, was such a pleasure. She was very attentive to our needs even though it was extremely busy. The food was definitely well-portioned especially since we like to order family-style (sharing everything). The drinks were also delicious and they don’t skimp out on flavor. For appetizers, I would highly recommend the Estella Calamari (Rhode Island style), and the Estella Mussels! Our favorite entree was the Oxtail Rasta Pasta! It was definitely delicious as previous reviews stated. The Shorty N Mash and Hungarian Steak Filet Mignon are also definitely just as good. The food did not disappoint and you definitely will be filled. I’m not a desserts person, but my family really enjoyed the Brown Butter Mini Cake and Dulce De Leche Lave Cake. They would probably lather themselves in it. Overall, we loved the vibe and atmosphere: the drinks, food quality, and service are worth coming back for!

Excellent restaurant. The service was awesome and the ambiance was terrific! There was a big leak in the ladies room. This bathroom should have been put out of service. There is a very limited vegan menu. However, my friend thoroughly enjoyed her calamari and tacos.

Been here a few times and it’s always a vibe The last time was for the Love island finale Loved the themed drinks the service And the DJs for allowing us to have a ball on a Monday night There is security and you will be checked fyi Not much parking but if you find yourself in Downtown Boston, give it a try

M

Food is tasty. Vibrant atmosphere. I got the bang bang cauliflower (soo good) and the chandelier (seafood) pasta very flavorful.

Food: everything that my guest had ordered was really good and cooked to tenderness. The Rasta pasta and wings were an all-time favorite. The cocktails were also delicious with a well balanced sweetness to it, but sometimes it had been a little overly sweet or overly too much liquor inside, so the consistency was a little off. Service: I think this was the first big group our server had so it took a bit longer to get everything ordered in the system. Granted it was a bigger group of people, and a lot was going on but I still think there should’ve been a better way in organizing his way around the guest accordingly.. The event coordinator was fantastic. He made sure everything was prepared for as well. Overall, I had a great experience for my birthday. Ambiance: there’s three floors in the restaurant and we were at the base level where it’s a dark ambience with 20s modern vibe Location accommodation: it’s right near the Boston Commons so you could possibly find side parking but garage parking is also available

M
Mady O

The food was great. I got the mushroom ravioli and it was very creamy and tasty! There were only three raviolis but portion was filling. I think the bathroom should be improved as the aesthetic didn’t match the rest of the atmosphere. The wait time was long between drinks and the food. But the staff was very attentive and friendly. This is a lavender mocktail that was great for those who don’t drink

I recently dined at Estella on 49 Temple Place and had a remarkable experience from start to finish. The restaurant’s sleek black-and-gold décor immediately sets a refined yet welcoming tone, and the staff goes above and beyond to make guests feel at ease. Our server was attentive and knowledgeable, offering helpful suggestions on both menu items and wine pairings. The highlight for me was their lamb entrée: perfectly seasoned and cooked to a juicy medium, served with creamy mashed potatoes and a side of tender greens. The balance of flavors was spot-on, and the presentation showed real attention to detail. We also indulged in a beautifully plated cheesecake for dessert—light, creamy, and not overly sweet. Despite the restaurant having a lively buzz, the overall ambiance remained relaxing, complemented by the mellow playlist in the background. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or simply craving a quality meal in a stylish setting, Estella is well worth a visit. I’ll definitely be back for more!

T
Tiffany Probasco-Francis

Great ambiance and drinks! The vegan selections are pretty terrible and are covered in the same tomato sauce that was spicy but not flavorful. They could do with using the same level of quality ingredients in their main courses as they do in their cocktails. We can tell!

A
Amazing Amanda

Visiting Boston on a Monday, we stopped in here. The ambiance is nice and dark. Our server was nice. The food came out quick. We tried the Rasta pasta with chicken which was great. The taste had a nice balance of spices. The burger was okay. The clam chowder needed a little something more.

P
Pamela Medina

I recommend Estella’s in Boston. The food was really good. I had the breakfast burger with a fried egg (a first for me), and it was surprisingly delicious. The bacon was crispy, the avocado was green and fresh, and the burger was juicy and cooked perfectly. My Coca-Cola was a little flat, but still decent. The restaurant itself is super cute with a romantic vibe. The seating wasn’t great, though — even with a reservation, we got stuck near the kitchen entrance. Two of us had to sit on chairs that stuck out from the booth, and plates of food kept passing right by us, which wasn’t great. I constantly had to look over my shoulder. The bathrooms were also disappointing. One sink didn’t work, the other only had hot water, and the floor had toilet paper everywhere. On the plus side, our server was really attentive and didn’t mind splitting our bill, even we were a big group — that was definitely appreciated. Parking looks tricky around there, so I recommend finding a garage nearby and walking over or taking the T if that’s an option for you. Despite the seating and bathroom issues, the food and service made up for it. I’d go back just hopefully with a better table next time!

We'd never been here before and like this area of Boston so we tried out Estellas. Nothing was agregiously bad, but it's probably in the running for bottom 3 restaurants we've gone on a date night. No need to go back, we'll try somewhere else next time. The food: The hummus appetizer was watery and the bread that came with it seemed like it was the same you can buy at the grocery store. The seafood soup tasted just okay but the shrimp was overdone. My chicken Milanese was dry and needed something else on the plate. Drinks were good. The service: Our waitress was fine and did a good job. No complaints there. The atmosphere: The place looks nice but we were seated next to a squeaky kitchen door and the music was not great - although that's pretty subjective. Had club vibes where we were looking for something more intimate.

J
Julie Connelly

Very disappointing experience. We came in early before a show. We were seated in the corner of the basement next to a bar covered in boxes, practically under stairwell, which was disappointing because the main part of the restaurant looked nice. Our server told us they were understaffed and suggested we put in our entire order at once, which we did. It took 40 minutes to get our drinks. Our appetizer the humus platter, took and hour. Pita was cold and hummus was watery. The salad was similarly underwhelming. We ordered the salmon tacos but never received them because we’re would have missed the start of the show. I have never written a negative restaurant review before, but I don’t know how this place survives in Boston’s competitive food scene. I get staffing issues but this was nuts.

We were visiting colleges from out of town and stayed at The Godfrey Hotel. They recommended we eat at Estella’s. Everyone was super nice, but the food was just ok. The marinara sauce in my ravioli was so thick it was like tomato paste. My wife said the clam chowder was very bland like watered down. My daughter loved her burger and my son loved his chicken fingers and French fries. The calamari was very delicious. The waitress never put in my wife’s mussels. I also was not happy with the automatic gratuity for a party of 4.

C

Worse experience ever!!! Went there for the first time for dine out Boston and it was surprisingly slow (now i know why) with my boyfriend we thought that the food was a disaster, I got the pasta and salmón and the salmón was tasteless no salt same with the pasta, my boyfriend got the ribs and it came with mash potatoes and brócoli, vegetables under cooked, mash potatoes incredibly salty, unprofessional server, we asked to send his plate back and he said he didn’t know how to charge us since it was dine out, so we ended up getting just two apps and still got charge as an entree, ridiculous!! No manager came to out table and nobody said anything. The dessert was ok and it doesn’t look as the picture at all ice cream tasted fake. No recommended and never going back again over $100 waste to trash!!!

V
Valerie Ramirez

Our server was super sweet, though she didn’t check in on my friend and I as often as I’d hope. Food was great, the aesthetic of the place was also very nice. But. The female busser kept walking by every 2 seconds staring at me with the rudest faces- that I don’t appreciate at all. She has tight curls and abt 5’4-5’6, stay as far away from her if you ever go….
