Loved the cozy, yet chic pub vibe and charming staff! We came to experience The Fed’s famous cocktails, but we were blown away by the food selections as well. When the staff heard it was my mother’s first time in Boston, Chef John made it extra special by creating a delicious Seafood tower for us! (The scallop ceviche was to die for!) The four of us sampled the pretzel, clam chowder and pasta dishes, and I’ll be making another trip back just to have the grilled asparagus salad again. So fresh and tasty! I gave ‘Mix Master Marco’ a challenge to surprise me with a cocktail, and the daiquiri he created was just amazing. (Now I wish I could remember the name of it.) Hats off to the whole team, we’ll definitely be back!
I walked in and was pleasantly surprised that there were a few people here on a Saturday at 5:30pm in January. The Malbec from Menzona was fantastic. The burger was also very good too. I will return here this summer.
Located within the Langham hotel, I had a wonderful meal at the Fed. The restaurant is stunningly beautiful, the service was outstanding, and the food was really good. I had some of the best oysters ever. Needless to say, I highly recommend the Fed if you're looking for a nice sophisticated drink and/or a quick meal in the lounge or at the bar. This place is top-notch!
Beautiful space. Feels intimate with velvet benches and interesting art on the walls. Beautiful square bar with friendly and competent service. Try the three cheese and mustard toastie. It got eaten before I could take a picture. It’s a fancy and delicious grilled cheese. Nice cocktail list and wine list. Great oasis when downtown
So we went here for cocktails in hopes to wait out the NYE fireworks, and my god we were so happy that we did. The cocktails: amazing! (And I’m a bartender myself). The staff: even more amazing! They were super friendly and even gave us some funny NYE hats and horns. I also had a salad while we were hanging out (pictured) and it was very fresh and delicious. Atmosphere was also great. Definitely coming back again!
Was visiting a friend in Boston for the weekend and they suggested that we go here and I'm so happy we did! The hotel itself is gorgeous and The Fed is equally as nice. I was really happy with the cocktails that we ordered. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and helpful when I wanted to order a custom drink that wasn't on the menu. Also, I highly recommend the charcuterie board with cheese! Will definitely come back next time we're in town!
stopped in for a quick drink while i was in town. i loved my drink, it had cucumber and was very refreshing. i wished the bartenders couldve been a bit more personable as i was the first and only person in the bar for awhile. the money theme is cute and decor was gorgeous.
Amazing, creative cocktails! Everyone is friendly and it’s a chic place to have drinks with a friend.
Danny, khamissa, Elaine Matthew and the Team Are Very, ~ Friendly & Respectful
Really great cocktails. Get the Geri halliwell and get your camera ready.
Great food, great drinks, nice ambience. I wouldn't call it a pub, more of a bar with food 🙂
Great place for a cocktail and nibbles before dinner. Friendly and knowledgeable bartenders
Really nice and classy place! Service was a bit slow but not complaining, the rest of the hotel was too notch
Beautiful place and great service!
Nothing to fault here. Loved it.
Absolute favorite bar in the city of Boston. Speak-easy vibes without the pretentious energy.Great for business meetings or nightcaps!
Phenomenal cocktails and service in an inviting, and relaxing environment. Casual and upscale simultaneously.
Fabulous cocktails! Best spot for martinis. 🍸
Had such a wonderful experience while visiting with my dad. Samir, Marco and Melvin did such a great job in making us comfortable right from the get go - made sure to check in on us and never let our glasses go empty. It was my dad's first time trying a lobster roll and it's safe to say that it won't be his last time - he absolutely loved it. Will definitely be visiting again! Would 100% order the calamari as well. Thank you to all the staff and compliments to the kitchen.
Very nice lunch with great service. Great beer selection although the food menu is very small. Probably good to look in advance to make sure something is to your liking as there are not a ton of options. We split the burger and the shrimp cocktail. Both were excellent. Really one of the best burgers I have had in a long time. Great service too. Draft beer was ice cold.
Kevin was an attentive manager and our server Denny was great. Would return.
Great experience which is owed largely to the waiter Danny who tended to us. We got in very late on Friday night - around 10:45 with the bar closing at 11. Danny took such fantastic care of us making us feel like VIPs. We ended up having delicious duck wings, seafood and cocktails. I cannot speak more highly of Danny’s professionalism and natural knack for hospitality - it really made our stay very memorable.
It was a rainy and cold Saturday night so we decided to stay in and dine at The Fed instead of going out to north end or back bay. Loved the speak easy vibe. We ordered beers and a non-alcohol blood orange disel (which was really good!), our bartender was super friendly. Then we ordered the duck wings, lobster mac and cheese, burger and then the stout pie. Everything was so delicious will def come back!
This English-style pub at the beautiful Langham hotel is a gem! If you are a major fancy drink snob, this is the place for you. They have some seriously decadent and inventive cocktails and drinks. I chose one of their mocktails, the Blood Orange Diesel, which consisted of blood orange, rosemary, and grapefruit tonic. VERY good. $10. My husband and I enjoyed their green salad with pears and candied nuts over spinach, as well as their steak fritters and double-patty burger. Both served with fries and the French fries were SO good. Perfectly cooked and crispy, mmm! On Mondays and Sundays they have $2 oysters from 3-9pm so my husband had 6 of those and loved those as well. They had some great starter items on the menu. Would def. come back again for light snacks and drinks. Food was stellar, ambiance is lovely.
Great spot in The Langham Hotel. We stayed on property for three nights while traveling with our kids. The Fed was our pre-dinner, no kid hangout. Perfect spot to get a fantastic cocktail and snack after doing the tourist things all day. We loved the jumbo shrimp cocktail and glizzy sticks (gourmet corn dog)for a snack. The Aeroplane, Frozen A$$ets, and I’m Fed Up cocktails were delicious and creative.
Went thurs night around 6pm and it was awesome! From the ambience, energy, food , drink and service everything was a home run. Cant wait to come back and will def bring out of town guests here when showing them around. FYI the duck "wings" are really drummies....order them! You cant go wrong with anything on the menu, but these I've never seen anywhere else.
Marco took care of us and we were really pleased by the cocktails and food. If you’re looking for a fancy place to hang out for a drink or some snacks that’s the place to go to
The service, atmosphere, food, and drinks were amazing!! Do yourself a favor & visit The Fed at The Langham in 2026, you will not be disappointed. Our server Kelly was the best, so friendly & knowledgeable & Bakes the bartender delivered on their signature drinks. Wonderful evening out & can’t wait to go again!!
Solid choice for an upscale bar experience with decent food and drinks. When The Fed opened a few years back, it stirred up plenty of hype after being named one of the best cocktail bars in the nation. I missed it during its initial hype, but recently had the chance to drop by for drinks and dinner. While it didn’t quite have the grandeur of Grana, it offered a similar touch of luxury with cozy couches circling the central square bar—plush, stylish, and perfect for unwinding in style. As expected, the menu here felt a bit overpriced, though pretty typical for a 5-star hotel restaurant. However, the food quality didn’t quite live up to its reputation. They stuck to classic dishes without any interesting twists in ingredients or sauces—perhaps a bit too simple for items like the Fed Burger, Lobster Roll, and Crab Cakes. Honestly, they weren’t much different from what you’d find at upscale taverns around the city but came with a higher price tag. The fries, lightly dusted with Old Bay seasoning, were a nice touch and probably my favorite part of the entrées. The burger was decent, though lacking in veggie toppings, and the patty leaned a bit dry. The Pork Belly Bites and Clam Chowder were our favorites—especially the chowder, which is hard to get wrong. The cocktail menu offered some interesting and creative options, but the execution was just okay. As for the service, it was probably the biggest letdown—after taking our order, our server was MIA until we flagged him down for the check. While the Financial District doesn’t have a lot of cocktail bars, I’m not sure this would be my go-to spot even if I’m in the area. For a better experience, I’d recommend heading to Vermilion Club instead.
The Fed at The Langham, Boston offers a nice atmosphere, good food, and reasonably good service. Our orders were made as requested and served in a timely manner. Full Review: Located at The Langham, Boston, The Fed offers a delightful dining experience with its nice atmosphere, good food, and reasonably good service. The restaurant lives up to its description as a British-inspired cocktail bar with a sophisticated New England twist. On our visit, we found the surrounding environment to be pleasant, reflecting the quality settings that The Langham is known for. The Fed, much like the hotel's Grana, provides an inviting atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience. We sampled a variety of dishes, including the lobster roll, burger, and steak frites, all of which were delicious and well-prepared. Our orders were made as requested and served in due time, showcasing the kitchen's quality and attention to detail. While we did encounter a minor issue with the hostess, the situation was quickly addressed and rectified by the management. The quality customer service we received in resolving this matter was commendable, and we appreciated the professionalism displayed by the staff. Overall, our experience at The Fed was enjoyable, and we would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality dining experience in Boston. The combination of a nice atmosphere, good food, and reasonable service makes The Fed a worthy dining destination. 4/5. --- You can find me on Insta: @imdanielyoon
✨ambience: classic and quite. relaxing environment. 🍸drink : ordered dirty martini, fun guy(cocktail with lamgham boston single barrel rye, cognac, sherry, candy cap mushroom and black walnut) and margarita. Their margarita had a great balance of sweet, acid and booze. drinks came with snacks. 💁🏻♀️would I revisit this place? Yes - a decent place for drinks before/after dinner.
A classy bar with a convivial atmosphere and comfortable chairs. It was a nice place to relax over drinks. I tried the “Fun Guy”which was their take on the “Old Fashioned” and it was enjoyable.
Cute patio to grab some quick drinks and bites at the Langham.
Pricey. But a decent spot for a bite and a drink.
I have mixed feelings about this bar. Went during their busy time and had fantastic cocktails. We wanted to order food but our waiter disappeared for 30 minutes. Manager comped our drinks. I will have to come back at another time because the vibe and drinks were 10/10
A cozy hotel bar in the financial district with a nice interior, a pleasant atmosphere, and attentive staff. The food and drinks are just okay. Visit because of the “4th best hotel bar” hype; stay for the pleasant evening vibe. 3.5*
My husband booked the Langham for us to spend a night in the city for my birthday so of course we went to The Fed for dinner. Atmosphere was nice and food was pretty good. The service on the other hand needs improvement. Our waitress was very nice but there were several issues with our orders. First of, I ordered a kid’s meal when we placed our initial drink order so it would come out first and I could start feeding our child since he gets hangry. Our appetizers came so I fed him that but the kid’s meal never came even when both of our entree came. We brought it up to the waitress and told her to just cancel the order since it was too late now and he’s just been eating off of my plate. She apologized for that and we moved on. Then we got our bill and saw that we were charged for the pretzel bread appetizer which we never ordered and thought that was just the complimentary house bread so we didn’t question it. We waited for our waitress to return so we could bring it up to her but we sat there for a good 15 mins and she never walked by so we just paid and left.
friendly drink service, otherwise overpriced
Best Moscow mule I have ever had Update… I was very disappointed to learn that you don’t make your own ginger beer anymore…
The Fed is a solid option if you’re staying at the hotel and using the Amex $125 credit. The menu is very limited. The portion sizes are also small. The short rib included one small piece of short rib. The flavor was good but the entree itself was cold. The bourbon list was limited, no allocated bourbons available. The seating was comfortable and the decor was nice. Our server was nice.
extremely rude hostess, which was very surprising as a hotel guest. food and other staff were lovely though!
I had dinner at Fed at Langham Hotel in Boston tonight, and while the food was impressive, the service was disappointing. The meal itself was a highlight, with each dish beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The kitchen certainly knows how to deliver on taste, and the presentation was top-notch. However, the service didn't meet expectations. Throughout the evening, the staff seemed inattentive and slow to respond. Basic requests took far too long, and overall, the service felt disorganized and lacked the attention to detail you would expect from a restaurant in a hotel of this caliber. In summary, while the food was excellent, the subpar service dampened the experience. With better service, this could be a fantastic dining spot in Boston.
Doesn’t matter if this place is dead or slammed the service is almost always bad however the food is definitely good and convenient to the hotel so I keep coming back when in town however it was so bad today that I’m leaving this review in hopes of getting better training or staff because I had to leave and go find another place which is not ok for a hotel guest. Ended up around the corner at finpoint which has a better environment and equally as good food if not better. 6pm sat half the place open but told no tables available so grabbed a seat at the bar. Sat at the bar for almost 15 minutes while the service bartender never looked up (however was busy making service drinks) and the only other bartender moved at a snails pace even though the bar was busy. She didn’t look at me or acknowledge me once but served the 2 people to my left that sat 5 min after me and took on all new guests after me opposite side of the bar. This girl was moving without a care in the world and clueless to her environment. I asked a server and the bar back twice to order food and kept getting told the bartender would be right with me. Never happened. Complained to the host on the way out who also seemed lost as to what was going on. This bartender was taking drink orders and then not making them and taking on other guests fighting for her attention. Maybe a bad day for her not sure but not acceptable for a place of this caliber and no manager in sight. This place was not run well today and hasn’t been in the past. Get a manager on the floor that can recognize a busy bar & hop back & help. Please fix. 🤮
We went because of the pictures posted. However when we got there, the waiter told us that the pictures were only part of an Instagram promotion and not actually part of the drink menu.
We had a 730 reservation and no one greeted us or sat us for about 10 minutes. We sat down finally and it took at least 10 minutes to get water. Within a half an hour our waiter greeted us, who was always kind, and took our order. Drinks came in about 15 minutes and the dinner took almost an hour. Our waiter was no where to be seen towards the end of the night and I would have ordered another drink and dessert but couldn’t. I asked the bartender for the check since the waiter was gone. Very disappointed as this was our anniversary dinner. Left a very bad taste in my mouth and I have a lot of patience. We left the restaurant after 2 hours.
Despite the bar not being busy, we had to wait for 1 hour to get our first drinks delivered to our table. The food followed shortly afterwards. The wait staff and bar staff seemed to be poorly coordinated which took the glow off what should have been a pleasant evening.
$7 for half a can of sprite and no refills? Do you know how many 2 liters I could have got for that?
Food is decent but the service is absolutely awful. Could not even find someone that would close out our bill or bring drinks. Truly terrible experience.
***NO CLASS, RACIST, TRASHY, UNPROFESSIONAL HOTEL MANAGERS — Do not go here. *** I wish I could give this establishment 0 stars. I do not recommend you dine or stay here as their customer service is absolutely disgraceful. Where do I start... Their restaurant manager, Alex is extremely unprofessional and rude. He led my party of 6 and I to an empty table that had no place settings, no menus, no silverware. He then says, ”I will be right back, don't sit down yet until I wipe the table.” He then disappeared and never came back. We literally just stood there waiting in the middle of the restaurant. Finally, a host comes over and instead of assisting us he rudely asks if we have a reservation. I made sure he was aware that Alex had led us here, and said he would be back. However, Alex never came back which caused a lot of confusion within their staff. Instead of resolving the matter, he had us uncomfortably stand there in the middle of the restaurant and it caused a scene that could have easily been avoided. To make matters worse. Just as we were finally seated, the host comes back over for a final time and asks us if we have a reservation... Keep in mind, the restaurant was empty. No one was dining there at "The Fed" (A restaurant in their hotel). We then kindly asked, "Do we need a reservation?" The host then rudely snapped back and said, "No, I am just making sure." The interaction was very odd and uncomfortable. It was as though our presence alone was not welcome. This completely tainted our dining experience especially since Alex, the restaurant manager is the one who brought us to this specific table in the first place. Now I am not the one to bring up the race card, as I find it to be a cop out in most arguments. However the people I had with me were all of brown skin. We are all professional Bostonians meeting for business, dressed in business attire -- and still treated as though we were not human, not welcome, not allowed. Finally, when we thought things were beginning to run smoothly, the waiter forgot to bring one of our guest's meals. We have a party of 6, and all guests were served except for one. This would not be a big deal if they quickly rectified the situation, however her meal was not served until we had all finished eating. The waiter did not even apologize at first. I had to bring this to his attention that this was unacceptable. Had I not told him we were unhappy, he would have gladly carried on knowing our guest had to watch us all eat. After our troubling experience, I called to speak with the hotel manager. He is even more unprofessional than all of the hotel staff that he governs. When I told him about our experience and how the staff was rude, forgot one of our meals. His response was, "This isn't the establishment for you." Not only that but he did not believe anything I told him. The interaction with him was quite bizarre. I personally have worked in the restaurant industry for years, and when a customer tells you they didn't receive their meal -- you believe them. He proudly did not. In disbelief I asked him for his name so I could keep record of this awful experience, he refused to provide his name. People of Boston reading this, I don't advise you spend your hard-earned money in a place where the staff cannot provide their name. How can you trust someone who is nameless? How can you eat somewhere, where the people making your food are nameless? I am repulsed. If you are looking for a place to stay in Boston that is respectful, has class, and will treat you like a human being go to the Fairmont Copley or The Four Seasons. I will be letting everyone know on all social media accounts to avoid this place at all costs. For these prices and this type of low-class service? They won’t last long here in Boston... Maybe stay in London.
We were very disappointed. I ordered the short ribs and the mashed potatoes has so much butter and oil, it created a grainy, oily texture. We ordered at an app that never came. Burger was just ok
