This place was great. Went with a party of 28 so to everything going perfect could be unusual but it wasn't. Our waiter was wonderful, orders were perfect and he did it with a great amount of honor. Highly recommended

Great local restaurant on the water with wonderful cuisine.

Solid choice for last minute dinner on the water. Nothing fancy but Grilled chicken breast dinner is a healthy and hearty portion. Super basic food, but right on the water in the center of the action. Great outdoor patio and attentive service.

Wrapping up a hot day with a fantastic meal at Tia's Seafood Restaurant in Boston was the perfect way to end our adventure on the Freedom Trail. After a day of exploring history, our group was famished and craving some fresh seafood. Tia's did not disappoint. The ambiance at Tia's was casual yet classy, with a lively atmosphere that welcomed both locals and tourists. We started with a round of their famous clam chowder, which was creamy and filled with tender clams. The main courses were a seafood lover's dream: succulent lobster rolls, perfectly grilled scallops, and crispy fish and chips. Each bite was a reminder of why Boston is known for its seafood. Service at Tia's was top-notch, with friendly staff who made us feel right at home. We enjoyed our meal with a view of the waterfront, and the gentle evening breeze was the cherry on top. If you find yourself in Boston, Tia's Seafood Restaurant is a must-visit, especially after a day on the Freedom Trail. It's the ideal spot to relax, savor delicious seafood, and soak in the Boston vibes.

We stopped in for a quick lunch in between sight seeing! We were able to sit outside and enjoy the nice day. The menu has a large variety. And all of us enjoyed our food! It was DELICIOUS! We highly recommend!

Such a great place! The fish and chips were amazing! Won’t be a healthy choice but so crunchy and delicious! The frozen drinks were sweet enough and the area was great just to sit outside and enjoy the view of the harbor. Would definitely come back.

We sat outside on a gorgeous summer day with a reservation for a group of 14 celebrating a big birthday. Shonah was our waitress and was so personable and awesome! The place was packed! I told her we only had 1.5 hours before a chartered boat trip and she made it happen so we could enjoy delicious drinks, eat the yummy food, and get out of there on time. Perfect customer service! Thank you Shonah!

Plenty of seating, indoor and outdoor. The spot is right between the water and a lovely park. The service was great and the food was tasty and fresh. Would definitely recommend.

Stopped intoTias for a quick burger and beer on this past Saturday afternoon. The place was packed at 7pm barely a table available. Extremely friendly host pointed us to a table. Place was so crowded figured it would take forever to be served. Our waitress acknowledged us within a minute took our order had our beer in less than five minutes burgers within five more. I don't know how they pulled that off it was amazing. Food was delicious and hot our waitress was awesome and friendly. I would recommend them for a good meal in a upbeat friendly atmosphere

What an amazing place!! Outside seating had a beautiful view of the harbor! The lobster ravioli was incredible and my husband’s shrimp/lobster scampi was divine!!! We stumbled on this place by accident and you should put it on your list of places to eat in Boston! You will not be disappointed! We hopefully will travel back this way someday and eat here again!!!

I’m so glad we ended up at Tia’s instead of the luxury restaurant on the water that we had originally planned on. The ambiance at Tia’s, the food, and the excellent service made for such a great evening. We enjoyed the Baha Tacos and the Pan-Seared Salmon. I was surprised to see some of the harsh reviews on here… I guess a lot of people are impatient. It’s seems to be a busy location and our server (I wish I could remember her name) was super friendly and attentive. Would come here again!

The food was amazing! Everything tasted wonderful. It was hot and fresh from the apps to the main course. Th3 staff was friendly and caring. Bathrooms need a little care.

Excellent service. I have celiac disease, and they were incredibly accommodating. The manager came to greet us when informed of my dietary restrictions, and they were so friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. The manager came back to make sure the food was okay. I was worried about finding someplace safe for me to eat. They really put my mind at ease.

First of all, I want to thank John our server .He was excellent and saved this review. I sat on the patio on an amazing May day. Beautiful scenery. I ordered Coors light draft. It was very warm. Then I ordered a bud light bottle.still warm. We ordered chicken nachos with cheese. Came with no cheese uf it did we didn't see it. John quickly fixed that problem The Nachos were great after our server took care of them. Ok, food ,warm beer ,my wife's white sangria was good she said. John and the atmosphere saved them from a worse review. Overall you still have to come here for the atmosphere and ask for John as your server

Food is amazing!!! Highly recommend the chowder, lobster ravioli and seafood platter! We ended up going here twice during our trip. The patio is great if the weather is nice, the only reason I have it 4 stars is the music is a little loud especially inside. Definitely a family friendly place!

If you’re looking for a fine dinning experience, I would go somewhere else. But if you’re looking to grab some simple food and drink, I would give this place a chance. I have only been there for a sit down meal once with my dad and kids; that experience was great except for one factor…the music. I don’t know how the music is controlled but it was not appropriate nor fitting for the lunch rush of tourists, many with children. Not only was the music filled with expletives and sexual references, it was loud and hard to ignore. Nevertheless, service was great and food was exactly what I expected. Had the the buffalo chicken Caesar wrap and loved it. My dad really liked the clam chowda.

Tia is laid back restaruant with calm atmosphere on the waterfront. The food was really good. The chicken barbecue flatbread was delicious. The flatbread was chicken, barbecue sauce, cheese, and onion. It was great bite. The regular fries were yummy fried goodness with perfect amount of salt. My co workers loved the truffle fries too. The service was overall really good. The only downside was the bathrooms werent clean enough. They were filfthy.

M
Momchil Binev

It's a perfect location for a lunch or dinner. The service is professional and friendly. I could only try a burger and a Bud, but it was enough to deserve at least 4 stars. Clear recommendation & hope to stop by again soon.

Tia’s was a great dining experience this past summer. After the aquarium, Tia’s provided an exquisite meal that settled the appetite for our family. Sitting right by the water, and in between the aquarium & North End, this is a go-to spot for the future.

Nice location. Good place to grab a meal and drinks with friends. Food was decent. Service was great. I recommend getting the 19th hole or the south side refresher from the summer faves and the seafood platter.

Staff: Great staff, exceeded expectations! Appetizer: oysters on a half shell. Nothing above the expectations here, but certainly not bad. I’m not a huge presentation person so I’d say don’t change this. Local oysters were great! Dinner: Tias spicy dish. Food was great and a perfect serving size. Sword fish was a great first experience and the shrimp, mussels and scallops weren’t above and beyond but certainly very good tasting! TLDR; I highly recommend this for anyone willing to spend 30-40 a head with alcohol, appetizer and an entree.

The seafood fra diavolo was fantastic. Drinks are little watered down. A little loud inside too.

The food was delicious, and I had an amazing lobster and shrimp scampi. The atmosphere is very family as well.

We first went to the place with the intention of sitting at the bar, but once we got there, the place was so loud, and everyone was talking over everyone that we could not stay inside. So we ended up sitting outside. We ordered some drinks and ro eat. we ordered the clam chowder and fried calamari. So far, this is the worst clam chowder we've ever eaten. And we've had a lot in different states. This one tasted like flour and bacon, not even a little of clam flavor in it. The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The location is great, but we definitely wouldn't visit again.

We had reservations and got seated a few minutes early. It took nearly 20 minutes for our waiter to come by, only after asking another staff member who would be taking care of us. This seems to be common based on the other reviews I read. Our waiter came over, didnt introduce himself and just stood and stared at us; a very awkward situation… Took our drink orders and app orders and dropped the drinks off. We asked to wait to order entrees and came back around to take our orders shortly after. We had the oysters, fried coconut shrimp, the salmon and lobster ravioli. Oysters were ok, waiter wasnt sure where they were sourced from. Only came with cocktail sauce which was disappointing. The other reviews suggested food comes out cold. The shrimp was warm but not hot so we were nervous for our mains. The mains were cooked to perfection and hot! They were delicious. Our waiter however only popped back once to check in as he was carrying drinks to another table. Overall food was great but a long delay to start our night and poor waiter gives this low score.

Tia's Waterfront Restaurant in Boston offers a mixed experience. Located in a highly touristic area, its prices are fair considering the prime location. However, the service leaves much to be desired. Our waitress took an unusually long time to bring us even a single drink and a beer. To make matters worse, the restrooms were quite dirty, which detracted from the overall dining experience. While the food and location might attract visitors, the service and cleanliness need significant improvement.

Kelly Szczerkowski

It was okay. My mom loved the fish and chips. I had ordered the nachos with chicken and when they came out they did not have the cheese sauce or the chicken on them. Eventually got the cheese sauce after asking but never got the chicken even when I asked. Drinks were good but a bit pricy. The atmosphere was nice and it was a beautiful day out.

Being from Boston, Tia's is and always has been a staple to sit outside and drink in the waterfront/ fanuel hall area of the city. They are locally more known for having a few drinks, rather than eating a meal. With that I will say we got a few appetizers with cocktails and the food sucked but the drinks were amazing! lol One of the apps had serious potential but unfortunately was so ridiculously bad we were laughing about it, even showed the waitress how hard the avacado was that we couldn't cut it with a knife and it was releasing juices to attempt to saw it. You could have dented a cah with it, hahd as a rock! haha She was like Ohhhhh, but didnt offer anything else so whatever, we ate the semi-stale / toasted to hide it pita bread it came with. The presentation seemed good, I will give them that. But lets say to skip lunch here, and if you desire to sit out and watch the tourists march by in summer then this is your spot! So many good places in the area these days and with the Seaport right around the corner I probably wont go back nor would i recommend a friend visiting the city to go there unless they were waiting for a boat ride of some sort. But on the positive note the Froze was fabulous and their boozey sweet tea was phenomenal!

The lobster and lobster rolls were good, so were the side of batter dipped fries. My complaint is I ordered a "Spicy Mango" but it was a ginger ale. I confirmed and they said it's Spicy Mango. It had zero taste of Mango and no spiciness (unless u think ginger ale is spicy).

Tias was largely empty. The host at the door was apathetic, would not respond to a hello. He never said a word to us. The waitress was nice however, and helpful. My grilled chicken tacos were cold and served with tomato mush instead of salsa. I wasn't expecting great tacos in Boston, but also wasn't expecting such awful food otherwise. My wife got the scrod and chips, which was good. I don't recommend this place unless you can't get in elsewhere.

You don’t have to be good with a location like this and Tia’s makes sure they don’t put any more effort than needed into their operation. From the filthy bathroom to the fountain with no water in it, from the credit card machine that wasn’t working to the eight or nine servers who constantly congregated at the hostess stand, nothing about Tia’s was done well. We stopped in because they had outdoor seating alongside Christopher Columbus Park, on the edge of the North End and just steps from Quincy Market. The location is really fantastic. We got a couple of cocktails and an order of fries to snack on. The cocktails were fine but came in plastic cups like we were at a ball game. The fries were decent. Service was painfully slow and after we finished our round of drinks no one came by. We never got napkins or silverware. We probably didn’t need silverware but I would have liked a napkin, and maybe another drink if offered. We had to hunt down our waitress to get our bill, but then since their computers were down, we couldn’t even get a real bill. The waitress even said “I don’t know what the tax is.” They wanted to take a copy of our credit card and bill us later, but no way. Luckily we had cash. I get why people go here, but it’s just sad they don’t put effort in and make an awesome place. I guess when you have lots of tourist dollars flowing through, you don’t have to worry.

The place has a nice view that's all it is. Went there yesterday for the first time. We waited for about 20 minutes before someone take our order. The food was just ok , the lemonade taste like water. I won't go back

Showed up at 7pm on Mother’s Day to an empty restaurant. The host told us to seat ourselves—strange, but we went with it. We sat down and waited… and waited. The server visited all three tables around us but never once acknowledged us. No water, no greeting, nothing. After 25 minutes of being completely ignored, we got up and left. Awful service. Total joke of a place. Would not recommend to anyone.

Read and believe the negative reviews. Don't waste your time or money here. Staff at the door and manager gives zero Fs about customer service. Most of the staff were dismissive, rude and unprofessional. It took 1 hour to get the takeout order for pizza and fries. If you tried to ask about your order, the answer was "We're short in the kitchen and we'll get the food to you when we do" That's all they said to each customer when they asked about when the food would come. Terrible customer service and food was mediocre. I should have just asked for a refund and go eat elsewhere if I knew it would take over an hour for apps. The owner doesn't seem to reply to reviews so clearly they don't care either. There are better places to eat in the area.

Honestly super disappointing. The service was so slow . And it wasn’t busy ( at least our server didn’t have a busy section) we were waiting for the water 15 min, for the silverware another 10 min. The food is SO mediocre that it hurts. The worst clam chowder you can try. I’m sorry, I really didn’t want to write a bad review but it is just so bad. Not gonna lie the waiter was polite, but it just didn’t help

I was visiting Boston over Labor Day weekend with some friends and we were looking to get a lobster roll from somewhere. We ended up at Tia’s since we were in the area. I do not recommend this place at all. Between the 4 of us, we ordered 3 lobster rolls and a clam chowder. For the lobster rolls, we had an option of getting it warm with butter or cold with Mayo. We all got the “warm” one with butter and when it arrived it wasn’t very warm and seemed like it had been sitting there for a while before it came to us. The waitress came to check on us *once* and when I told her that it was cold and seemed like it was sitting there for a while, she asked me if I wanted her to go heat it up for me. (Like in a microwave????). I declined and we just went on with our meal. I split a bill with one person and for two very small, overcooked, and cold lobster rolls it came out to $70! I usually don’t write bad reviews but I feel that people need to know before going there (especially if you’re on a vacation there, so you can find something better). I don’t mind spending $$ on good food, but I don’t see how they can justify serving this to people for the price. We were extremely disappointed. Hope this helps someone else.

Even one star is a stretch. I think they tried to send us to the hospital! I came to dine with my family on Father’s Day (15th June) at tias. The server got our food and mustard along with it. EXPIRED mustard if I may. When I objected, they took it away and tried to pretend to throw it so that they don’t have any evidence. I took a photo of it and showed the general manager that I have proof and they can’t just throw it away and take no accountability. She even tried to delete the photo off of my phone! They are so mistaken if they think they are getting away with this. Would only recommend eating here at your own risk!

What a waste of prime real estate. Rudest customer service I have ever experienced, not worth your time or money. Should’ve walked out at the first rude comment (of many) and to top it all off, didn’t return my credit card at the end of the meal, then gave attitude when I asked for it back.

I had a really disappointing experience at Tias on Friday night, May 23rd. My friends and I walked into the bar and were met with complete unprofessionalism. The bartender didn’t greet us, never offered menus, and gave us unfriendly looks the entire time. When we asked what time the restaurant closed, he barely responded and had a clear attitude. We felt totally unwelcome. Definitely not the kind of service you’d expect.

This restaurant needs better and more focused servers. Absolutely no management at all. Stay away from it and go to another restaurant or have fun with some quick delicious foods at the Quincy Market. Our server was definitely dumb. He left our kids with no utensils , went back and forth with 2 straws when we asked for more he never showed up. Later on another girl came and brought the food. The fish and chips were definitely not child friendly and my food had hard rock chickens in the pasta. When I walked with dirty plates that the server brought us I told him to throw them in the trash what type of health dept will allow you to bring us dirty plates with crumbs in it. Very gross and exteremly sloppy. Never going back. We were 7 people with no utensils , drinks nor straws and our drinks came so late.

Z

was there with a party. they seated us, then service was incredibly slow. we ordered drinks, waited for 15-20 minutes before ordering food. then management came out and essentially chastised us for not ordering enough for their servers to make good tips. but if their service hadn’t been slow, we would have gotten more! regardless, they managed the situation childishly and cancelled our food order. i’m not someone who leaves bad reviews, but this experience was so uniquely bad that it feels fitting. clearly if we weren’t ordering enough food to pay their servers enough, their servers are underpaid. bottom of the barrel sort of establishment. don’t recommend.

Had to ask twice for a server, even though tables on either side of me had 3-4 visits from their servers. Ordered fries and a drink. Fries came out 30 seconds later (but not my waitress) and were disgusting. Terrible flavor, soggy, ice cold. My drink never arrived. I waited 15 minutes, no one stopped by my table, even though tables on either side of me had several more visits from their servers. I had told my server that I was in a hurry, so when my time limit was reached with no drink, I had to leave.

V
Val

Really sloppy and lousy service. 25 min waiting for someone to just to show up and bring water, another 25 min for drinks. Starter arrived before the drinks, shortly followed by the entrees. Really, really slow server. We asked for grilled avocado he put down clam chowder. I did order dirty martini he brought me glass full of vodka and ice, no olives. Nothing dirty about it, just pure vodka. Such a disappointing experience and service. My expectations were for the fish and chips to be of restaurant quality, got an overpriced McDonalds. First and last time. If you are visiting take your business elsewhere - there is Joe’s across the park, Provisions, Legal Sea Foods, etc!!!! Go spend your hard earnest money where it is worthwhile.

Place was janky. Nice location but rudely canceled our large party's food order when we didn't order "enough." Half our party ordered food and many ordered drinks. Never experienced before a place canceling 15 people's dinner like that and I eat out a lot more than maybe I should. Uniquely bad.

H
H Raval

Poor service. The server was not friendly and took forever to see us, had to call her a bunch to times before we could order. All the food came at the same time despite us requesting that the apps come first. Food was so so and overpriced. The only reason this place gets any traffic is because of its location. We made a mistake of trying it without checking the reviews. The average rating of 3.6 seems much higher. Not sure how anyone can give this joint a 5 star.

I normally don’t leave bad reviews but this restaurant made me want to leave one as soon as I left the place. The food was okay but service was atrocious. The indoors seating area was too cold and we asked to move to a table outside but our server shrugged and said no because “the tables are dirty and it’s too much of a hassle.” My friend asked a different employee and they very rudely dismissed her and lied that it’s only for guests drinking wine and beer??? Mind you they never ask you if you’re planning to drink alcohol or not when you’re getting seated so I don’t know why they decided to come up with such a stupid lie. Our server basically ignored us throughout the whole meal and it took forever to get our drinks and food. When we finally were able to get him to bring us the check he just threw it on the table without saying a word. I already had my card ready for him but he decided to ignore it and disappear again. We eventually had to ask a different employee to help us with the check because we’d been waiting for so long and had to leave soon.

Food was dry (ordered buffalo chicken Caesar wrap). They messed up my son’s order, then rushed off my app before I even finished it. Ordered waters which never came and a second ginger ale, which also never came. Reasonably priced but not worth it at all.

My fiancé and I got married at the Long Wharf Marriott and, for convenience, chose to host our welcome drinks at Tia’s. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a major mistake. From set-up to closing, the manager and staff were extremely rude and unprofessional, which cast a shadow on an otherwise joyful evening. We had rented the main patio, and a few of our guests naturally wandered to the adjacent side patio. Instead of handling this with grace or flexibility, the manager became visibly upset and told us we’d need to pay an additional fee to use that space. Without consulting or asking for approval, they charged my card several hundred dollars without notice or consent. This was especially disappointing considering that the vast majority of guests at the venue were part of our welcome party, generating significant business for Tia’s that night. To make matters worse, at the end of the event, we had some welcome gift bags left on a table. Before we had the chance to collect them, the manager swept them off a high-top table into a cardboard box on the ground—not gently placed, but literally swept off, which caused the boxes to bend, open, and spill out the carefully packed contents. This level of disregard and unprofessionalism, especially during such a special time in our lives, was deeply upsetting. We had hoped Tia’s would help kick off our wedding weekend with hospitality and care, but instead, we were met with hostility and mishandling from the very people who were supposed to support our event. I would not recommend Tia’s for private events and am extremely disappointed in how both myself and my family were treated.
