Johanny couldn’t have been more helpful on a busy Saturday night in a mobbed Boston’s Theatre District at the W Lounge. We had no reservations (stupid us) but this didn’t stop her from finding a way to accommodate us. I hope she is treated well and is given a promotion!
Fun fun and fun. It is a super happening place! The atmosphere is high end. Finally normal life is back to Boston and party happening here. Incredible Dj and nice people at the bar. It was super busy busy when I visited. You can meet every generation here. The music was fantastic. The bar food menu is a limited but that’s OK for the bar. Surprisingly they even offered gluten-free pizza. The price is what you can expect in a place like this. I will be back. Go there if you want to have a good time!
Went to the Urban Oasis connected to the W lounge with their same menu. Space was really nice and well closed off from the stream. Very cute and photo worthy space. We really liked the lemongrass drop and duckfat fries. Definitely would go back to the interior space as well. The staff were wonderful, super sweet and attentive.
Friendly atmosphere. It was a happening place in the evening. Excellent service and the stats were great.
I came through for drinks, vibe, and music. I like this spot, and I would definitely visit again.
One of the best classy lounge in Boston. Good music, good drink, sizeable crowd. Everything is just on point. Close at 2am.
The W Lounge organized a great and diverse Halloween party. The music and ambiance were fun and we danced a lot. Thank God we arrived a bit early; the lines to this and parties at other locations on this street and this area got loooooong fast. 😁👻🎃
Fun place to grab drinks and catch a vibe. Wait staff was attentive which cab be difficult when it gets super busy. Prices were far and the DJ was 10/10
This place is awesome! The staff are amazing and very helpful. They offered suggestions on best places to eat, shopping, and must see sites to see. The hotel features complimentary wine on Tuesday nights as well as a lounge with a DJ on Thursday nights. Oh, I can't forget the complimentary breakfast throughout the week too. I will definitely be back to visit!!
I had a great time here. W Lounge has a very chill atmosphere, and it was perfectly paired with the house/ deep house/ deep house top 40 remixes that the DJ was playing. Drinks were very good, especially for the price. Overall a very good place to spend a night. Crowd is mostly young professionals.
Very nice place to have a drink at the end of the day or whenever really. Nice service, special thanks to Stefania and Melania. The space is modern, confortable; and the music just loud enough so you can chat peacefully.
Only got drink but the atmosphere was good. The service was great the door man let us wait inside the hotel for our cab while creating some casual conversations it was a slower weekday night.
Did not stay in the hotel but the lounge is amazing. Cool and fun environment, drinks are a decent price. Great ambiance, the last few times I went they had a DJ. Perfect place to meet up with friends or anyone before actually going out. But you could stay here all night too!
Nice and cozy atmosphere. Great service, great drinks and yummy food. We were a group of 6 and enjoyed ourselves for hours on a Friday night. We also enjoyed the DJ.
One of the best hotel bar/restaurants I have been to. Food was good, great alcohol selection. And live music a few times a week is awesome
Great place to relax and have an amazing cocktail. During the evening this place gets quite popular with locals and travelers alike. If you're a hotel guest they'll always let you in, otherwise outsiders may be asked to meet dress code or man-female ratios.
Didn't eat there. Toni is such a beautiful person inside and out. Her humor at the bar was great. Going back for her great service
Food was great and the ambiance was better. Great bar staff. This is the perfect stop for your first round before a night out or a quick night cap and the end of the evening.
Whoever this DJ is on Saturday night is elite. His knowledge of hip hop is impressive. Can blend samples from old to new. Drinks are reasonable, atmosphere great. Diverse and fun.
Stopped in during the recent artic blizzard while waiting for our kids to be done at Dancing with the Stars. Place is great! From the doorman, manager, servers they were all friendly and accommodating. The pours were generous and do yourself a favor and try the “winter cosmo” My wife loved it
Stopped by because Heard the dj was good so I popped in. There are lots of other spots within walking distance so this location is very convenient. John was an excellent bartender and provided great suggestions on places to visit while in Boston.
Came here on a Monday around 2pm and the service was wonderful. The manager was great and so was the bartender. Will definitely come back🤩
Randy is the best bartender ever! Great diverse crowds of people, and clean.
An absolute gem in the heart of the city! The W Lounge Bar offers a delightful blend of sophistication, ambiance, and impeccable service. From the moment you step in, you're greeted with a warm welcome and a vibrant atmosphere. The cocktails are expertly crafted, each sip bursting with flavor and creativity. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure your experience is nothing short of extraordinary. Whether you're looking for a place to unwind after a long day or celebrate a special occasion, the W Lounge Bar never disappoints. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a memorable night out!
Bartender Ana is tremendous! One of the best Manhattans in Boston :-)
Loved the vibe and the music. Sharon was our waitress and she was amazing! Got the chef to take our order even though the kitchen closed in like 2 mins. 10/10 recommend. Will definitely be back with more friends
Great food! Top notch quality snack type fare that's very tasty, expensive but worth it, topped with a comfy atmosphere. Next time I'll get a room and room service and pamper myself. Doorman Paul made my day! Great guy! 😎😂😉❤️
Fun times in the W Lounge, the DJ was dj'ing and the crowd was hyped. We didn't stay long as it was in full effect when we got there and it was packed. We popped in around 11:30 p.m. and the club was jumping. Never could make it to the bar for cocktails, wound up dancing our way back to the elevator though...
We went there on a Saturday night to celebrate a friend. My friends and I all had a great time enjoying the music and the environment, and the staff there were friendly and prompt. I would highly recommend it, I definitely plan to go again.
Only went for drinks, but they were strong and delicious! Good way to start a night out in Boston. There were a few dogs inside, which I found strange. I'm not a huge animal person, and would rather eat/drink expensive items without animals sniffing my ankles.
Not sure
They've done a nice job on having different areas (benches, high tops, chairs with a table between) where different groups can congregate. Saturdays there is a dj. Only negative is you can't get in after 9 pm without a room key.
Stayed at the hotel. The decor is a little quirky but the hotel is clean and service is nice and timely!
Just need drapes to stop the cold air from getting to the tables near the front desk?
😎how many times have I been to this place? 1 👩🏻summary: grabbed a glass of margarita after visiting urgent care right across the street 🍹drink: margarita was okay - not my most favorite. 💬service: average 💁🏻♀️would I revisit this place? Maybe
Classic ambiance. The service is a little odd (one bartender rude). But I guess that’s part of the game. Theater crowd.
I'm on the fence about this place. It is definitely a great place to grab a single drink with one or two people on the way to or after for a show nearby. I had some of the best salmon and quinoa here as well. At the same time, both the food and drinks are over priced and because it is more of a bar than a restaurant, service is lacking. I believe there was a single waitress for the whole room when we were there. So understandably there were long wait times for service. We were given old menus that had drinks that were no longer being offered. For the price of food and drinks it is underwhelming. Very much a - depends on what you're going for type of place. In the hotel and want to grab a drink - yes! Seeing a show nearby and looking for a place to grab a drink before the doors open - yes! If you want dinner, service, or atmosphere - there's much better options nearby.
Soooo….we made reservations for 5:30pm. We arrived early because our show ended early at 4:30pm. We popped into the bar/lounge for a cocktail prior to dinner. We told our waiter we had 5:30 reservations. We had a couple cocktails and at 5:30 we asked to either have the tab moved to our table or cash us out. This is when we learned the restaurant was not opening because “the waiter called out sick”. So now what? He said we could eat in the lounge. Great but 3 of us were at a table not even close to being suitable for dinner. You could maybe fit one dinner plate on the table. We asked for another table to be cleared for us and menus. They cleared it and we waited…and waited.. and moved to it finally. Then we waited another 30 minutes to get acknowledged and take our order. So the short story is I received several messages confirming the reservation leading up to this night and no communication what so ever about the restaurant not opening u til our resi time. We would’ve ordered earlier if we had known. We literally waited almost 2 hrs to order dinner. Our waiter was great but over extended. We were checked in on once. We totally would’ve ordered more drinks. There were tons of waiters just waiting around he was working his tail off. Strange experience and poor communication and service.
edit: this is a review for the bsmnt cIub attached to the w hotel, but I couldn't find a separate page to leave it on... I want to start off by saying that I wouldn't have gone to this club unless my gf asked me to meet her there. I usually go to Bussdown Fridays (QTBIPOC centered) at Legacy down the street for the same $20 cover, where I'm guaranteed plenty of space, cheap drinks, a place to hang my coat, and a fun dancing atmosphere. The line for the coat check was very slow and when we finally got to the front they'd informed us they'd run out of hangers, so for the whole night I held my winter coat. With all due respect, the DJ announced himself as "Nathan from Los Angeles" and played "Like a G6" twice in the span of an hour. There wasn't really a lot of places to just hang out, and the music was too loud to have a conversation, so people weren't really socializing with each other. I will say we went on techno night, which may have curated a different vibe than we were looking for, but most of these points still stand with that in consideration. The security was firm, but kind to the patrons. It wasn't really their fault that they were unable to break up the crowd, but most of my friends are under 5'6" and had trouble staying on their feet. The crowd was extremely thick to the point that we had trouble walking through it to get to the bathroom, so imagine how hard it was to dance. All in all it was not terrible and the drink I had was well mixed. I'm giving three stars for cleanliness and the fact that there was a gender neutral restroom provided as an option.
Went to the Urban Oasis connected to the W lounge yesterday. I was so excited to check this place out after seeing it on Instagram. This place fell short and I don’t understand the hype. 4/4 drinks the table ordered were just not it and the service was mediocre. The only saving grace were the hot honey sliders.
Elevators old and not enough for the guests. Staff unprepared and clueless. Gaby, one of the recepcionists absolutely not helpfull at all.
My four female friends are I were having a great time. Half of us don’t drink. A fellow patron had lost their phone, so my friends and I were trying to aid her in finding it, which consisted of lifting up the cheap plastic Halloween table cloth(that was causing everyone’s drinks to spill onto the dance floor) momentarily. Suddenly both bartenders and manager rushed over asking us to leave for “being too drunk”. It’s Halloweekend, and not looking to cause issues, we left without complaint or argue. However as a group of small, unproblematic females, it was upsetting.
I am a titanium elite member and unfortunately was disappointed with this Marriott chain. There was chaos happening outside the hotel at 11 in the night, blasting music at the hotel where we could barely hear the team at check in counter and then charging incorrectly on the bill. The only saving Grace was the valet person
Went there last night, sat square in the middle of the bar noticed by the bartender. It was early with maybe 7 people at the bar. The bartender COMPLETELY ignored me, very clearly avoiding eye contact with me and took orders for 3 other guests that came in After me... Still I sat patiently continuing to motion for assistance. It was only when I took my phone out, did she ask what I wanted to drink. I ordered a $13 glass of wine. I took a few sips and was handed the black receipt book to sign or so I thought. There was no pen. So I asked the bartender where is the pen. She turned her back to me and then took another order. Deliberately ignoring me- again. I took a closer look at the price charged. $21! I overheard another guest enquiring about the same issue. "Oh..." The bartender says, we automatically add in the Gratuity. WHAT?! Your establishment tells the client how much of their money you're going to take?! No choice- Additionally, how are you able to deduct or charge a customer for an item with no signature, especially when there is a question about the price? I'm huge on Principle- $21 will not break me. But this is Very Wrong & Unethical. Also, what ever happened to 15% gratuity? Do this to 50 or 60 people a day.. at the very least..adds up. Some won't catch it, some are too busy to care, some are too embarrassed to question it. HORRIBLE business practice. The Attorney General's Office will get an email about this. I won't be back and don't recommend an establishment that has such business practices with rude, unresponsive, bias staff. Ridiculous!
One would have the impression that this bar would be high end. It's the W, a premier brand, it's in downtown Boston...but sadly not. After being seated, it was 7 to 10 minutes waiting. I ended up going to the host station to ask them to send a server. When the drinks arrived it was clear we were not working with the top brass. With 3 bartenders working, none appeared to know what a twist was. Who the hell puts a lemon wedge on a $23 martini? I ordered a $20 maple old fashioned that was pathetic... crappy ice machine cubes like I was getting a coke at AMC theaters. The chair I was sitting in has all the fake leather peeling off.. honestly this the impression you want to make? It looks like the last crappy motel available off of Route 80 in Pennsylvania in a blizzard-+better than sleeping in the car I guess. The topper was they delivered the bill in a dirty folder. It takes two seconds to wipe it clean with water, but you can't be bothered to deliver the $76 dollar check for one mediocre burger an two crappy drinks in a clean folder. It this the state of hospitality in the post COVID world? I am not quibbling about the price, but you had all the elements to make it worth the money...none of which cost any more to do. But you couldn't be bothered.
I went there for a meeting with coworkers on a Monday evening. The service is mediocre, we were the only group there (around 10 people) and nobody came to help us with seating. One of us reached one of the stools from the bars and immediately a bouncer came and told us we can’t move the chairs (again, we were the only ones in the bar), and didn’t offer an option to help us sit more comfortable. Besides the mediocre service, we order a bunch of appetizers and they were average to bad. Drinks were overpriced.
I recently visited the W Lounge with a group of friends. One member of our group was a tourist visiting from another country. Upon arrival, the person at the entrance requested ID from each of us. Unfortunately, our tourist friend did not have an American ID, as he was visiting from abroad. We explained the situation to the attendant but were shocked when we were informed that an American passport was required for entrance to the bar. In this day and age, it's disheartening to encounter such discriminatory policies that exclude tourists and lawful permanent residents from enjoying certain establishments. We were deeply disappointed by this experience, which felt discriminatory and non-inclusive. I strongly urge the management of W Lounge to reevaluate their policies and ensure that all patrons are treated fairly and respectfully, regardless of their nationality or documentation.
If I could give zero stars, I would. The guy who worked the door tonight is rude and treats customers like utter trash. He watched fifteen people leave and let two in. He told the two ladies in front of us that there was “no bathroom” inside the lounge. What kind of lie is that? He then accused them of trying to get in for the sole purpose of using the bathroom. We had all been in line for half an hour at that point. Why would anyone wait half an hour in line for a lounge just to use a bathroom when they could go find a McDonalds? Next, magically people who were behind us in line got let in before us and the women in line in front of us. Then for the final straw, despite a posted dress code at the door that did not mention shorts were inappropriate tells my boyfriend as we had been waiting at the front of the line for twenty minutes that “there was no way he’d be getting in with shorts on.” It was nearly 80 degrees in Boston today, chinos are more than appropriate. At that point, it felt like we had been kept around to keep the outward appearance of a long line to passersby. There was plenty of opportunity to say something in the time that elapsed while we were near the front, and let’s remember the posted dress code on the door does not mention shorts. So sad as the W Lounge was one of my boyfriend’s favorite places while working in the city this summer. Hard to justify spending your money at a place that treats you and others around you in such a terrible manner. We won’t be back.
Both the hostess and bartender are don't care about guests or the experience and are okay with lying customers so they can go home early. Attempted to go here tonight, arrived at 1050pm and was told that they were closed when the marriot "W" website, Google, and the signage in their door indicated they were open until midnight. Simply wanted a decent cocktail and was denied by lazy entitled employees. Marriott and "The W" should be ashamed of the people they employ.
Went to urban oasis with a reservation. Our table wasn’t ready because they were clearing some and told us that they’ll find us once it’s ready. We went back 15 mins later and it wasn’t ready. 30 mins after our reservation time it still wasn’t ready so we left. What’s the point of a reservation if the business doesn’t honor it. Extremely disappointed because I was looking forward to coming here
