El lugar está muy padre, su decoración, pedimos picaña con excelente término y sabor, wow, pulpo especial, tacos baja y tacos al pastor de pez espada, ensalada caprese que es elaborada con quesillo, setas al ajillo muy ricas, agua de maracuyá, agua de tamarindo y de jamaicas son aguas naturales, mojito, las salsa de chapulin, morita y cacahuate riquísimas.De postre las cremas de cajeta flameadas muy deliciosas. Todo muy muy bien.

Im visiting from Southern California Honestly one of the best experiences I’ve had so far in Oaxaca my servers Juan Pablo and Augustine were 100% the whole time. I almost missed this place and now that I’ve been here I would definitely come back for the experience. Can’t thank everyone enough for the experience I had the Baja tacos and they’re probably the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. Fui el jueves 22 de enero no es la primera vez que voy y no deja de sorprenderme, comida excelente y sobre todo los precios son más que razonables. El espacio y el ambiente familiar no podría ser mejor. Servicio amable y cordial. Realmente felicito a esta familia que logro formar un equipo extraordinario y en conjunto un lugar para regresar siempre. Ojalá sirva de ejemplo a muchos de puerto escondido, zicatela, mazunte y alrededores para que comprendan lo que es servicio atención y educación. Gracias x tan agradable velada.

Un lugar muy bonito para cenar y tomar algo, sus platillos tienen un delicioso sabor y las bebidas son exquisitas. Ideal para ir con amigos, en familia, con pareja o solo. El anfitrión es muy amable y su personal te atiende con una gran actitud.

Beautiful atmosphere and amazing food! El Nene is probably one of the prettiest restaurants in Puerto Escondido. We had dinner at the bar and received excellent service from the bartender. The food was great, the ambiance is gorgeous, and the espresso martinis were fantastic. A perfect spot for a relaxing, stylish evening out.

January 2025 - Five of us dined at El Nene.  Different cocktails, pork shank, Pulpo, BBQ shrimp, beef tacos, and the service were all impeccable. We can't wait to return next January.

El Nene is definitely a must-visit spot to add to your list in Puerto Escondido. It’s the perfect place to step away from La Punta and enjoy a calmer area, conveniently located near Bacocho, Carrizalillo, and Coral beaches, making it an ideal stop for great food and drinks after a beach day. The mussels appetizer was unbelievable. The catch of the day was incredibly fresh and delicious. And the drinks? On another level, the best hibiscus mezcalita I’ve ever had, and the mojito mezcal is an absolute must-try. We had the pork shank, the tacos baja and the surf and turf! A wide variety and everything was delicious. Of course, for dessert, you can’t skip the key lime pie. Everything was outstanding. Thank you so much for the amazing service, we’ll definitely be back every time we visit Puerto✨

The food and drinks were some of the best we had during our trip and that’s saying something because almost all of the food in PE is superb. The vibe was chill and the service outstanding! Felt like I was in Hawaii. We came back twice and might honestly go again. The catch of the day (mahi mahi) with the cream sauce is unbelievable. Same with the tuna steak, blackened with the ponchu sauce - sweet and spicy. The cost for the quality and quantity of food was crazy. The cocktails were amazing too and a good price for the quality and presentation. Had their drink features twice and a couple off the menu. Finishing off with carajuillos!

Service: Excellent. Attentive, but not distracting. Atmosphere: Nice. Could maybe try to find some other background music, but it was fine. Tables are stacked a bit close to each other. It wasn't busy while I was there, but if it had been I imagine that having the tables so close would be annoying. Food: The peanut sauce that comes with the complimentary chips was really nice. Mahi mahi sashimi was very good except the sprouts. Sprouts are pretty overpowering and those flavors don't make sense to me. Easy enough to remove them though. Also, the soy sauce pours out of the container too quickly to not be given a small dish. You end up putting way too much on the fish dish. Octopus was cooked and seasoned perfectly. It's very difficult to cook octopus that well, but they did. The potato puree was ok, just a little bland. It was better if you soaked up the juice from the octopus seasoning. Espresso martinis were great. The only thing I didn't like very much was the creme brulee. Too thick, not creamy though. Could barely taste any vanilla, and the egg was coming through strong. Overall a really great experience. Definitely worth the cost.

A great dinner here tonight. The seared tuna and grilled Dorado were both on point. The crepes cajeta were a super way to finish. Service by (?) from Merida was friendly, courteous and professional. Definitely a place to go for the occasion you want to splurge a little. Highly recommended. Also worth mentioning is the open and airy setting which allowed a gentle cooling breeze, and the background music that was pleasant and interesting without being intrusive.

The food at this restaurant was absolutely extraordinary. We travel a lot, and without a doubt this place has entered our top 3 restaurants worldwide. We usually never visit the same restaurant twice during our holidays, but here we made an exception - and both visits went far beyond our expectations. We tried the steaks, octopus, and fish entrées, and every dish was cooked to perfection. The cocktails were also amazing, beautifully prepared and full of flavor. The staff is fantastic, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that truly elevates the whole experience. Highly recommended - a place we will always remember and happily return to.

Good food. I personally wouldn’t get the sauce on the surface and turf, I feel like the sauce ruined the steak in my opinion. Overall good though. Make sure to ask for hot sauce on the side, really spicy!

Es un lugar amplio, muy bonito, con un ambiente relajado para ir con la familia. La atención muy esmerada por parte de los meseros. Probamos los tacos baja y de asada, mucha calidad y buen sabor. Las mezcalinas más que generosas, lo cual se agradece.

Lugar muy bonito, buena sazón y servicio amable. El precio de algunos platillos se me hizo un poco excesivo, pero la comida tiene buen sabor. Si lo recomiendo y volveré a probar más cosas del menú. Se ve que tienen buena coctelería pero no la probé

El Nene is a beautiful restaurant with a great atmosphere. We went with a group of 11 and honestly tried almost the entire menu, especially the dessert menu. The food was just okay—four of us ordered the picanha, all medium rare, and each came out cooked differently. The margaritas were a bit under-sweet. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out—except for the Crepas de Cajeta, which were absolutely excellent!

We got a lovely welcome both in the door and by our waiter. Even if it's not absolutely necessary, it's nice to have a server that you can communicate with in English because my Spanish is so so. Our starters, the tuna tostada, were utterly amazing! One of the best thing we had on the trip and definitely the best thing we had in Puerto Escindido. We started to think that we actually found a good restaurant here. However, our mains, octopus taco and catch of the day (also tuna) were mediocre. Thanks to the highs, our overall experience was good and if we ever come back I will try something else.

Great atmosphere. Food a little bland for my taste and staff rushing to get us out taking dishes before we finished etc. Would have stayed for pudding but … Tuna on the specials was excellent. My husband says it’s the best he’s ever had!

We've been coming to Puerto Escondido for several years, and we've always enjoyed a good meal at El Nene restaurant. Unfortunately, our meal last night (surf and turf) was definitely not worth the bill; the ribeye was so fatty and full of tough gristle that it was difficult to cut a bite... but the cooking (rare, as we had requested) was perfect. And what about the practically nonexistent side dishes (no vegetables) with a semblance of couscous? Luckily, the three prawns were perfect. To end on a positive note, our waiter's service was excellent, and the overall atmosphere of the restaurant was warm and inviting. MODIFAICATION: About the answer of the owner: thank you for your reply, and I could have asked for a different ribeye, but regarding modifying the overall contents of the plate to include vegetables with a normal portion of couscous, I believe that should be the standard or the price we pay. My comment is intended to be constructive so that other customers can have a better experience. Gracias.

Comida: Nada del otro mundo. No sabe mal pero no es el sabor esplendido. Las tortillas de masa “azul” no eran de masa azul. Servicio: Al principio nos atendieron súper bien, íbamos con una persona mayor y nos buscaron una mesa de sillas bajas. Ya cuando nos sentaron, tardaron 1 hora en entregarnos los alimentos, mientras que a las demás mesas (de extranjeros) les servían más rápido y estaban al pendiente de ellos. Great vibe but would not recommend going here if you’re looking for Mexican/Oaxacan food. Be ready for traditional American flavors and lots of steak dishes. The saving grace was the tostada. Full context - we were looking for a flavorful Mexican menu with spice. This restaurant is not that, it’s decent food for an American or international tourist looking for something safe and basic. Service was extremely slow, nearly an hour. Shrimp tacos came out cold to the touch.
