A Quaint local establishment that prides itself on great food and friendly service. Cali Burrito was fantastic! Large portion and high quality ingredients. Cheese quesadilla was very good, not at all oily. Wait staff was super friendly and patient with us. Pricing is fair for the portion size. Highly recommend.
A great option when you're in the mood for anything authentically Mexican. They have a robust menu, solid service in English or Spanish, and the portions are large enough for leftovers!
I have been eating here for the last 8 years! There service here is wonderful! When walk in I'm Immediatly greeted with smiles every time It's a cozy western style restaurant. They are famous for there WET BURRITOS. I typically do the "NO CARBS" So my typical no carb meal will be salsa Verde omlete with side of beans and a salad (no rice or tortilla) 1 grilled fish taco on the side! Usually no tortilla but it came with it today. If you know me I love my food saucey, gooey, and cheesy. The WET BURRITO STYLE over my omlete, with a side of those creamy refried beans with cheese makes my eyes roll back in my head every time. This place feels like home. Will always come back.
$29 for a carne molcajete. Feeds 2-3 people it's so good I was stuffed!
The food has always been tasty each time we have went. I love their avocado omelette!
The is so delicious, not expensive at all I definitely recommend it 100 percent
Very good mexican food.... had the grilled chicken plate and it was cooked to perfection... portions are generous and delicious... they offer chips and salsa too. Their fountain drink have free refills...and offer in a to-go cup too... server are attentive and courteous.
Excellent food. Great familiar home style food. The shredded chicken is all white meat, the cheese is delicious. Super friendly place where you can get to know everyone that works there. Home made salsa and best of all, great shrimp!! Large, clean and wonderful tasting, especially the diablo version!! Highly recommend "The Wet Burrito", so much good food!
Recently moved to the area, and decided to try this place out. I’m writing this review on my second visit. The food is absolutely delicious and the staff are all so friendly. I will be returning here quite often.
Stopped by for a quick bite and was blown away by the service, low prices, and quality of food. I will be back.
Really great food and great service as well as great quality ingredients, but a little expensive, for me at least, but worth checking out 😔😜
Lovely spot near work where the staff is super friendly and the food delicious. Have been going for years and enjoy every visit.
Never noticed this little Mexican/cantina style Restaurant in the Brea kinda hidden, it's on Central and Puente...it's called the Wet Burrito...Great service and Great Authentic Mexican Dishes. I had the Carne Colorado Plate juicy and tender beef with a cold beer...loved the atmosphere. No complaints, will be back soon
I go here for lunch whenever I can. The food's great The serving size is insane.
Burgers, fries and onion rings were good as hell👍👍👍. If you like crunchy onion rings, this place is perfect.
This was my first time at John’s Place, and it felt like finding a time capsule from a time when authenticity came before modernity. The plants along the window are real. The lamps are real brass. The food was usual diner fare but prepared with an impeccable attention to detail. Everything was toasted, smothered, and fried to perfection. No modern twists, no curveball, no change-up, nothing but GAS. John’s Place radiates a promise to feed you and it delivers. Just don’t come here expecting white glove service. Figure your own life out and THEN come get a burger. This is a place for big dawgs.
John’s Place is our Saturday morning breakfast mtg go to. The food is good and so is the service. Nice people.
I got the breakfast burrito and was delicious and fast and not greasy oil on the bottom of the burrito and the hot sauce was great will be coming at least three a week
I stopped for a quick bathroom break while working In the city and decided to stay for lunch. Family Diner setting, very clean. Great staff, very welcoming. The burger was amazing! You can tell that they cook and serve with love. Will return.
This is the type of place that I break my diet for, once a year. I was ravenous after a long work day and this restaurant was right by my dermatologist’s office. I had an hour to kill before my afternoon appointment and stopped in for lunch. The menu is standard diner fare- burgers, fries, breakfast options, and a couple of salads. I ordered one of the “John’s specials” offerings, a super stuffed chicken burrito with green sauce, and half and half fries and onion rings. The food was delicious, hot and fresh, and flavorful. The meat was fresh, the veggies were crisp and juicy, the avocado was perfect. The fries and onion rings were crispy, hot and thick—- my favorite. Portions are big. I was full after a few bites and took everything home. The young man behind the counter was delightful, very polite and attentive. The decor was standard vinyl booths, plain tables, unadorned ambiance, but there is a charm to that. It was spotlessly clean, the young man who took my order was making sure all the tables were spotless, when he wasn’t helping patrons, he was spraying down and wiping up tables. The restrooms were spotlessly clean, too— the air smelled of disinfectant. Parking is plentiful and the air conditioner was powerful, a must for the insanely hot north OC days. I really enjoyed my lunch and would like to try the brunch options!
I just ate at John’s Place after having lived in La Habra for a long time and it was definitely worth it! First thing I noticed was how clean it looked and smelled. The staff was very nice and they brought the food to my table. The portions were good (I got a bacon avocado cheeseburger combo) and the food was delicious! AND, they were playing Christian music (Air 1) in the background, which made for a very peaceful atmosphere! I highly recommend this place and I will definitely come back and probably bring loved ones with me! 🫶
Great diner with all the choices you cam think of. I came to get some breakfast burritos and a chorizo and eggs plate. Both were bomb and fresh. The salsa verde was tasty and the burrito was packed with fillings. I would definitely come back here and try more things. I bet a bacon avocado cheeseburger would be fire from this diner.
I've not had all the food, portions are big, service is great, atmosphere is clean and family friendly.
Food is solid I'd say. Issue is, this is the only Mexican restaurant in my whole life that chargers for "complimentary" chips and salsa. No refill on chips or sala for free, no refills on drinks, they charge for everything. Food is good, but the way they charge for everything is absurd. I don't understand, unless they don't get a lot of business. For this, I give overall 3 stars, but 4 stars for food flavor.
Decent burger combo specials. Very easly to call ahead or order online and pick up on your way home. Their service is great.
The restaurant is nice and the waiter was great. The price was kind of high but everywhere is now. $32.00 for 2 breakfast burritos with bacon and 2 drinks not including tip.
Lovely local restaurant for breakfast. Enjoy the music/selected radio station on a weekday morning. For a somewhat fast-food place, the service is great - server was friendly and provided sincere recommendations. Will come back again. :) P.S. no need to wait for anyone to start. Go to the counter for ordering and then pick your table. With that being said, it's probably more efficient to come with a partner lol.
The local fast casual restaurant that everyone in town goes to. They have a wide variety of items to choose from. Food is good and there’s plenty of seating, some outdoor seating too. The only downside is that the staff isn’t as pleasant as you would expect. We come here almost every week, usually get the grilled cheese, club sandwich, and the fries. Pretty crowded on the weekends.
I would have given The Wet Burrito 5 stars given the past few times that I have visited them. However, recently when I had arrived 5 out of the 6 tables were not bused (cleaned) from the previous guests. Another party that arrived after I did had to use one of the other tables that was dirty during their meal. When it was time to pay for our meal, the server added extra charges which we were not informed of at the time over order. When this was pointed out, the server did NOTHING to change the price to what we should have been charged. Even though the food is great and in the past the service has been excellent, due to the added charges we will not be returning to The Wet Burrito.
Worst wet burrito I’ve ever had. Wet burritos are one of my favorite foods and I was expecting the best from a place called “the wet burrito”. I think it was mainly the sauce they use that ruined it. It tasted completely different from other wet burritos and I wouldn’t buy again. Other than that I don’t have anything to complain about just disappointed But this is the only thing I tried
I normreally really like the food from this place. I've gone there a few time. But the last time I went I couldn't help feeling like I was ripped off. I paid for dinner and for an appetizer we got the chips and guacamole. It literally came with eight chips stuck into a pound a guacamole. I was really mad when got home to find it that way. Now I'm hesitant to go back.
If you're not a local or everyday person. Service is very poor. Food is average. Not worth the price.
Local classic diner. The staff are very friendly and warm. The whole place is booth seating (a bit cramped, but I am a uh king sized man so nearly all booths are cramped for me). Only one thing stuck out to me that I didn't like and I can't really penalize them for if I'm being fair: they play Christian radio. Not loud, mind you, but still audible. Again, private business, private property, so again I won't ding them for that. Just know that if you do want to eat inside, they play worship music in the restaurant. If I had known this I wouldn't have elected to eat here. Still, for the actual restaurant bits, pretty standard local diner and classic diner fare. They seem to do a lot of take out and phone orders to go, so that's also an option
I work within walking distance of John's Place but rarely go there because my order usually gets screwed up and, IMO, they are overpriced. Finding myself without both lunch and vehicle today, I decided to give them another chance. Nothing has changed.🙄 Got back to the office and discovered my bacon burger was missing the bacon. (at least the burger and bun were there). Thanks for the reminder John's Place.
Got a green asada wet burrito, took it home to eat after work. The burrito was mid, and then about half way through eating it, I found a bolt in the burrito
Over priced. Kids meal is 7$ with no drink. Dry burrito might as well have been a wet burrito. Tortilla was saugy and falling apart, more beans and rice than meat. Might as well have been a bean and cheese burrito. Given location I can understand why people think it's good. No Mexican food around. First and last time.
