Absolutely fantastic stay at Carey's Manor, everyone was incredibly helpful and super nice. Senspa was divine, treatments were amazing and the food from the Zen Garden was absolutely amazing. I would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you

We celebrated our 30th Wedding Anniversary there and stayed in their best room, the rooftop terrace suite, No.1, and it was sensational. The decor was beautiful, the suite was very spacious and the quality of the whole furniture and bedding etc. Was outstanding. You get White company toiletries and the towels are super soft in the bathroom. The terrace is a lovely place to crack open some fizz and watch the sun go down and the spa was outstanding. The hydrotherapy suite was really good and the couples full body massage was just sublime. Outstanding food was had in the Le Blaireau French restaraunt and the staff and ambiance made the evening dining very enjoyable. From the moment you enter you receive a warm welcome and the service is both efficient, friendly and warm with perfect timing at every point. The hotel location is a perfect base to explore the area and it is a lovely building, especially when you stay in a room like ours! We would have no hesitation in going back and the management team are very proactive in ensuring you have the best possible experiences whilst you are there. Highly recommended indeed!

Great hotel, well maintained and very comfortable. Our room had a view of the gardens. which was very pleasent to view of the morning. Well appointed bathroom with all the lotions and potions you should need. Highly recommend establishment for a get away. .

We’ve been looking for somewhere special to celebrate our anniversaries and are happy to have found Carey’s Manor. Great rooms, wonderful service and facilities in a lovey part of the country. The breakfast was fantastic with a range of options. Really great to see veggie and vegan options available without having to ask. Loved our stay here and very much looking forward to our next.

Fabulous 3 night stay from start to finish. Room lovely, breakfast great. Hydrotherapy suite is amazing! We ate in the Thai restaurant on our anniversary, it was fantastic, best Thai food we’ve ever had. The French restaurant was seriously good too. We will definitely be coming back to this hotel 😃

We only visited the Senspa for the day. Facilities are fabulous and lunch in the Zen Garden Restaurant was delicious. Staff in the restaurant were efficient and welcoming. I would encourage the spa staff to slow down their explanation and information on arrival and adequately explain the layout of the facilities, which is convoluted. Trying to find our way round we clocked up over 2,000 steps. The first thing to change would be for the staff to introduce themselves before reeling off information. Treatments wetevfabulous and Pan's massage was excellent, thank you 💜

Wonderful break away for my Husband's birthday. Had a lovely garden facing room. Customer service from all staff we encountered was great, all very helpful. Loved the spa especially the hydrotherapy pool. We dined at the French restaurant which was fantastic, we really enjoyed our meal. We also enjoyed the breakfast. Overall a great weekend away, thank you.

Exceptional attentiveness to our needs in a perfect location in the New Forest. Comfortable beds. If you have mobility restrictions ask for a room with a walk-in shower. The bathtubs sit high off the ground and stepping over the edge can be a challenge. Rooms are not air conditioned but ample fans kept us comfortable. Despite these couple of negatives, don't think that we didn't have a fantastic stay. The service is exceptional at Carey's Manor. We will return again and again. You will love your stay there!

We had a fabulous stay at Careys Manor. The staff, food and spa were the pampering we needed away from our busy lives.

We really did have a wonderful stay at Carey‘s Manor, so much so that we added on an additional night! Our room was lovely and spacious, the bed super comfy but the standout for us was the wonderful service we had from each and every one of the staff, from reception, to dining to the spa itself. We also had fabulous food in two of the three restaurants there. We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough.

Lovely birthday weekend stay. Every member of staff was exemplary. Best vegan croissants I’ve had ANYWHERE. They do charge extra if you want to use the hydrotherapy area, but we were aware of this in advance and thought that was fair enough. It means they are able to have much nicer spa facilities than a standard hotel, and for them to be not too busy. The non-paid area still has jacuzzi, swimming pool, sauna and steam room. The main downside was lack of seating / relaxing area here.

Amazing place with such a calming feel to it. The room was so comfortable and again had a stunning view. The staff are incredible and always willing to help would like to through a shout out to Ben Moore for his incredible afternoon tea and cakes also a massive thank you to Ella she was so warm and welcoming and was incredibly helpful whenever we had a problem.

My partner surprised me with an afternoon tea at Careys Manor for my birthday, and it was wonderful from start to finish. We were warmly welcomed and treated like royalty as soon as we arrived. After being seated, we were presented with an extensive selection of teas it was hard to choose! The sandwiches were fresh and delicious, and the cakes were not only tasty but beautifully presented. It was a lovely experience, and we’d definitely return.

We recently had our wedding at Careys and they were absolutely fantastic, I could not recommend them enough. The staff were friendly and attentive, the food was delicious, the rooms were lovely, it was a wonderful time all round and they really helped to make our day special.

We stayed in the Knightsbridge garden king room which has a lovely Manor House feel. Garden view was great and it was quiet. Everything you need was in the room. Kettle and tea bags, x2 bottled water and x2 biscuits were provided. Wardrobe and wood hangars, iron, ironing board, hair dryer, luggage rack, toiletries, towels and waffle robes. The staff were all pleasant and polite We had a Thai couple massage which was very relaxing. The spa area was small, needs more seats but very nice pool, steam room, jacuzzi and sauna. We also used the very well equipped gym. We really recommend the Thai Zen restaurant, the food was delicious. Cooked breakfast and continental were great with good choices. Negatives- one robe had small tea/coffee spot stains on the front and although check in was 3pm we didn’t gain access to our room until about 3.40 as it wasn’t cleaned yet?! Overall it was a wonderful, romantic stay in a beautiful location.

We had heard mixed reciews of Careys Manor but our experience was very positive. We couldn't fault it. Our room was lovely and comfortable (the pillows could do with replacing and have put that in the feedback). The pool and hydrotherapy area was delightful and the Thai restaurant was lovely. Very tasty food of a high standard. Afterwards we were able to sit comfortably in the lounge by the fire with a drink. The bar staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good quality with plenty of choice and a hot option was included in our package. I booked a Thai massage and I was not disappointed. I had been forwarned from the reviews that I might get a piece of paper to sign afterwards which suggests an additional tip. I was very happy with my massage, so happy to tip but I think if I didn't expect it, I might have felt a bit ambushed. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit and will book again.

Myself and my partner spent 3 nights at Carey's to celebrate her birthday. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our time and left feeling relaxed and really pleased with our stay. We chose the Cambium restaurant to dine in for our first night and were blown away by the food and service we received! 10/10! During our stay we were equally impressed with the French restaurant which also lived up to the high standards set by Cambium with a romantic atmosphere. Our breakfast was included in our stay and we were pleased with the quality of cooked to order food available alongside the complimentary continental buffet provided which has a host of fresh juices, health shots and Healthy options too. We stayed in one of the garden view rooms which was perfect, relaxing, spacious, comfortable and clean with everything needed to chill out and enjoy some downtime. During our stay we made use of the spa facilities, including the hydrotherapy rooms too which were fantastic and well worth visiting. My partner also booked a massage and did mention it was hands-down the best massage she's ever had! We enjoyed time taking in the cosy atmosphere sat by the fire in the main reception area as well as drinks in the lounge and bar. The location was ideal too, just a short walk into the local village and on the doorstep of new Forrest trails which were all walkable from the hotel. We always felt extremely welcome, all staff were very attentive and courteous which always added to the luxury feel we experienced throughout! We will definitely be returning and would 100% recommend to friends and family.

Another fantastic visit. The service, food, spa and treatments as always are fantastic. The building is so charming. I’ve graded the garden rooms as 3 as they do need upgrading which I think will be happening but you can upgrade to superior rooms. I was with my mum so we were happy with what we had. We’ve been to lots of spa hotels and without a doubt this is superb value for money. I’ve been about 5 times now, thoroughly recommend!!!

We had our wedding at Careys Manor in November and we couldn’t have been more happy to have chosen such a wonderful venue! The staff are so lovely and made it so seamless, us and our guests had the most wonderful stay and will definitely return to enjoy the hotel again! They made us feel so special and nothing was too much trouble -thank you!

My wife and I have just returned from a lovely 2 night stay at the Careys Manor. Lovely manor inside and out. The reception area is a bit dated but the rest of the hotel is lovely. The room was well presented and clean. It was hot in the night, but a fan was provided for the room. The swimming pool, sauna and steam room was a nice area to relax with towels and robes provided. It was abit crowded after check-in but still usable. All the staff throughout our stay where helpfull and polite. The gentlemen at reception when we arrived was very kind and welcoming. My wife had a massage on the Sunday morning and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Again, the staff in the spa were polite and friendly. There was no hot breakfast for free with our stay, but there was more than enough food with the continental breakfast. I payed for eggs royal on our second morning and it was cooked perfectly. We ate out in the surrounding villages during our stay as there is lots of areas to visit nearby along with new forest itself. I would recommend as our experience was delightful.

The hotel's staff are pleasant, attentive, and friendly. Our garden room with patio was both clean and comfortable. The only thing lacking from our room was a safe. The bathroom was clean, with lots of hot water and a nice shower. The only drawback to the shower was that it flooded the bathroom. The refrigerator was large and contained bottled water and a carton of milk. It would have been lovely to have more than two breakfast tea bags, on the welcome tray. The robes were fantastic, but forget the cardboard slippers! We ate in both restaurants, but be aware of the 12.5% service charge. The Thai restaurant was pleasant, and the staff were courteous and friendly. I enjoyed my king prawn noodle meal, but did not think it was worth the price. Breakfast options included a continental buffet and a smaller cooked breakfast at a reasonable price. However, the food was not always hot. The breakfast personnel, particularly Antoinett, were courteous, cheerful, and helpful. The pool area is peaceful, however the saunas are very small.

A beautiful hotel all round. Gorgeous setting, friendly & tentative staff, delicious food and the Spa is by far the best we’ve been too. Highly recommend visiting. Thank you for a great stay.

Wonderful stay. Very relaxing. Perhaps our bedroom could do with some updating but the rest of the hotel was very nice and the staff are very good. The food was very tasty, both breakfast and our evening meal at the French restaurant were delicious and the spa treatment was very relaxing. The grounds and local area are stunning.

4 of us and 3 dogs stayed in the cottage, it was perfect. A little dated perhaps but overall very good experience. Spa staff were great, we all had 2 treatments and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Would strongly recommend based in our experience, and we likely be going back.

We were at the Carey's for a spa and afternoon tea visit. We has an amazing time. The spa was great, the staff were wonderful. The afternoon tea was one of the best we have ever had. One of us is Gluten sensitive and the GF tea was brilliant 9.5 out of 10. Thank you to the staff in the restaurant and the spa for an amazing afternoon.

A great experience here on a plant based spa weekend. Not the highest quality spa I've been to (but excellent value for money, none the less), but still really great. We had very relaxing time, would highly recommend.

Incredible afternoon tea and spa experience. We chose to do afternoon tea and a 60minute treatment for two separately. Afternoon tea was delicious and Kseniia looked after us wonderfully! Our 60 minute massages were with Tida and Onsri who were two women who can work miracles. We left floating as our bodies had been taken to heaven and back again within the 60 minutes. The hotel itself is having renovations and it’s not easy to navigate where reception is if it’s your first visit. Toilets are currently vacant hotel rooms with men and women using different number rooms. The spa will do blue light discount but the website doesn’t explain this so call them and book on the phone. Lovely venue, lovely staff and a great experience!

Afternoon tea. Service was friendly and efficient. My only gripe was the finger sandwiches which were extremely thinly cut. I'm more of a savoury man so to have half a slice of bread cut into fingers was a bit miserly. Fruit and plain scones were lovely as were the selection of pastries. All in all in pleasant experience.

We had a lovely stay at Careys, enjoying a very relaxing stay in the spa before heading for a meal at Cambian restaurant. The hotel is in the beautiful New Forest and perfectly located to see it's beauty. The spa was very relaxing and a perfect way to avoid the rain! Pre dinner G&T went down a treat. The food menu was fairly small but enough choice to keep us both happy. I had plaice for mains and my wife had the mushroom pasta- both very tasty. Staff were wonderful and couldn't have been more helpful- a theme for the hotel! The restaurant is nice but really brightly lit - it doesn't create a cosy feeling of intimacy or relaxation- this would be my only criticism. Lovely stay again - thank you.

We really liked it here. We had a room with a rooftop terrace which was spacious and well equipped. Restaurants were fantastic. Only issue is the Senspa, which you have to pay to go into even if you are staying in the accommodation. We found that strange. The pool and sauna etc which are included are ok, but quite small. I really do feel like of you are a paying guest, you should have full use of all spa facilities included. Probably wouldn't return just based on this, however I must restate that there was a lot to like about the stay in general, and I'd urge anyone to give it a go.

Stayed for a two night spa break. The hotel is in a wonderful location. Very easy central access to the whole new forest with walks on the doorstep (albeit a short drive away). The town of brockenhurst is very nearby and walkable with restaurants and shops. The hotel itself looks wonderful and picturesque. The lobby and all restaurant areas are decorated to a high standard. The rooms felt modern and comfortable, with the exception of the bathroom which was ever so slightly dated and could've felt more high end in keeping with the rest of the room. The spa facilities were great, and well managed. The treatments were of excellent standard and well delivered. The restaurants were excellent, both serving great food and exceptional service with a good variety of choices. Would most definitely stay again!

Used the spa as a gift day. The facilities in the spa were good, but the hydrotherapy pool pumps were a bit noisy. The anti stress massage was very effective. The Thai restaurant serves delicious food. I had vegetable spring rolls and then a chicken green curry. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Would definitely use it again

K

Treatments are great, second to none. Food in the Senspa restaurant is superb. Good hydro facilities. Would be 5 stars, but the places hasn't been properly maintained or refreshed and is looking a bit tired. It is a premium cost and needs some reinvestment in the building. As an example, there is a wiring fault in the relaxation room which makes the lights flicker on and off. Annoying when you are trying to relax.

L

Went for a spa experience - overall fair. Very expensive for not a lot. 30 min massage and use of a pool and sauna/steam room - quite basic really. And no flip/flops provided - you go bare foot! Or have to purchase £5 ones! Overall not quite what I had expected. Doubt I will be back.

S
Sara Phillips

Had high expectations of this hotel after reading the reviews, certainly isn’t as great as I thought, garden room was great lovely size and very comfortable with fabulous bed linen and everything you need in the room, good size fridge, tea coffee biscuits and mini milk bottle which was a nice touch. Breakfast really let it down, whether short staffed or Just a bad day, went wrong from the minute we entered, staff were rushing about and one blonde girl didn’t catch her name looked miserable and was rude. Neigh bar outside wasn’t great £30 two drinks and some squid, didn’t seem to care ordered gin, received in a Straight glass, did ask for a gin glass no glass Available. £300 average a night definitely get something better and cheaper in the village.

I had booked a spa dinner bed and breakfast package for my birthday getaway and was dubious considering some of the bad reviews. To summarise, everything about our stay was pleasant and nice. Our room was lovely with a comfy four poster bed with traditional but sleek decor (room 5 in the main house). The spa was lovely and exceeded our expectations. The food and drinks we had were also lovely. We ate in Le Blaireau, which had a strange decor and atmosphere, but the food was good. Breakfast in the morning was very tasty. The service, aside from one barman in the hotel bar, was also pleasant. However, what this hotel completely lacks is identity, vibe and atmosphere. I didn't realise this was so important for a hotel until I stayed at Careys manor, where I felt I was in a care home for the elderly rather than a four star spa hotel in the new forest. There is no gentle background music throughout any of the public lounge space, creating this awkward noticeable silence. The main hotel bar was small and placed in the corner of what was more a corridor than a bar area, creating no comfortable nooks or area to actually relax and enjoy a drink. The 'feng shui' of the place was all off. It's a shame because the entrance hall is quite grand and impressive as is the quality of the spa, but this is not continued throughout the hotel, but could very easily be rectified with small touches which add to 'vibe' and bring the experience all together. As a result, my partner and I are not likely to return to this hotel, given the price, and have had better hotel experiences as a whole elsewhere. I really hope management can focus on 'vibe' and what Careys Manor is trying to be, and invest in creating a warm and welcoming space that feels attentive and thought through rather than 'old peoples home'. Saying this however, everything was nice, there is nothing to actually complain about except the complete lack of this hotels vibe and identity. My other feedback for management- -individual toiletry bottles and hard soaps in bathroom are dated and wasteful. Larger pump bottles are more eco and user friendly. - The portable clothes rails loaded with wire hangers in the lounge and restaurant are giving 'school disco' and are an eyesore. surely create an actual cloakroom. -invest in sonos speakers to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere in the lobby, bar and lounge areas. -refurbish the bar area to create a main hub for guests to hang out. -the carpets in the lobby and corridors are giving travel lodge not new forest lodge and cheapen the place. -keep the fires lit, even on a sunday evening in december when its festive.

Hat's off to the gardening team! The grounds are beautifully maintained with an amazing array of plants, shrubs and trees. Delightful entrance to the hotel. Thereafter, whilst clean, the bedrooms were very dated and reminiscent of a care home. (Rooms 76 & 38) Service & Food in the Thai restaurant was exceptional. Breakfast service was astonishingly poor.

Stayed here for 3 nights. From the outside the manor looks very grand and inviting. The inside is spacious but the decor looks tired and in need of modernization. The hotel also seems to be overly hot wherever you go. There doesn't look to be any Aircon and we had to have our windows in the room open all the time. Stayed in a manor room. The bathroom needs some updating, and small with nowhere to put anything. The staff were friendly and welcoming. Feels a bit overpriced for what you get.

Sadly, not the usual wonderful experience. Upon arrival we were given a room with a double bed when we had booked and paid for a king size room(Knight wood Garden). Oddly , the receptionist told us that just because the room is called a Knight wood Garden King, this did not mean that it has a king-size bed. We was moved to another room after explaining that when we had stayed in the Knightwood rooms before there had never been a double bed in the room, and, we had booked this upgraded room specifically for the King-size bed! This was the beginning of some niggly experiences during our stay which included a cold hydro pool, and other spa facilities not working properly. In addition to this we ordered breakfast of egg Florentine and egg benedict and was offered both on a slice of thin white bread which was cold and not vey appetising. Apparently they had run out of muffins. This is a shame because breakfast is normally a highlight of this hotel. To finish this off, we was charged with someone else's restaurant bill on top of our own restaurant bill on our room tab when we checked out which was embarrassing to justify with others behind us. This should never happen - another layer of security needs to be put in place moving forward to avoid such errors. Hopefully these issues are sorted out because this hotel is usually one of our favourite places to stay for a peaceful break in the Newforest.

Beautiful looking building, however the car park is a bit of a walk away which isn’t fun in the rain. We stayed in a large suite which was gorgeous with two bathrooms. The non-functioning toilet was fixed quickly. However this room over the hallway was very noisy, both with evening events and with the huge amount of staff moving things around and talking very loudly to each other at all hours. No effort was made to use indoor voices. We had two Meals at the Zen restaurant, one which was delivered to our room and was very good. The main restaurant in the hotel was overpriced in my opinion and the food was quite average. We had the vegan option and we waited a long time to be served food that wasn’t very hot. It was okay but overpriced. I can’t speak for meat eaters but the vegetarian/vegan cooked breakfast were very poor – to be honest I’ve had much better breakfasts in a Premier Inn. The fruit was nice, the bread was nice but the cereal selection was incredibly poor. Plant milks were just dumped in their cartons in a bowl. The staff were helpful and pleasant throughout. We also visited the spa and had a massage. Massage was excellent and the staff delightful, however at the end we were led to a sofa and handed a piece of paper where we had to say how much tip we wanted to give. We felt a bit ambushed and to be honest thought the massages were already expensive enough. This should be handled better. The pool, sauna and steam room are excellent. The Jacuzzi was not working but the staff helpfully allowed us free access to the hydrotherapy area which was absolutely superb. However we would not have been prepared to pay nearly £40 per person for a two hour slot. You could be forgiven for thinking that this was just a way of keeping hotel guests out of the Members Only area! Overall we enjoyed our stay and had a fabulous day walking in the New Forest together with another lovely day by the pool. I felt this hotel just about scrapes four stars and in particular should rethink their vegan and vegetarian options in the restaurant.

We had a pleasant stay at the Careys Manor hotel but it is not worth the £315 per night it charges, it's at the bottom end of 4 star. The hotel is quite tired now, and has an 80s motel feel where the rooms are, with the old central part being more country feel. Our garden room was a little shabby, e.g. black mould on the bathroom tiles, paint wearing off the furniture. The spa is ok, again, quite tired and small, for example, only 2 people can fit in the sauna at a time. What makes the hotel though are the staff. The service was impeccable, in particular the staff managing the busy breakfast service. In addition, they are one of the best hotels Ive come across for catering for gluten free, with a wide variety of choice at breakfast and at the Zen restaurant for dinner.

Overall good stay with some areas that could be improved. Comfy lounge area and great on-site restaurants for evening meals.

The restaurant manager in the Cambium restaurant Careys manor needs to go!! Looking like he just got back from his stag do in Amsterdam, his tweed chequered suit looked dishevelled and his demeanour was that of a football hooligan. On arriving at this rosette restaurant for dinner, instead of a greeting, the manager did not even look up. With his back turned to us, he mumbled “I’ll be with you shortly! “. Awkward minuets passed as he continued doing whatever was more important than looking after guests, before he finally turned to reluctantly offer us a table. He never remembered the water he said he would get and he forgot to mention they were out of cod, so this caused us to have to reorder with another waiter. During our meal he marched around the restaurant aggressively offering nothing to guests other than his presence, occasionally carrying a plate or attempting to relay a table for breakfast and constantly checking his watch. We had to get our own cutlery from another table, as he forgot to bring us a spoon and folk! Other waiters in the restaurant were far better, and I don’t know how this manager was even employed. He had no skill or love for service what so ever. The food in the Cambium was a godsend. It’s the only saviour to the poor service, so well done to the chef. Sadly, the chef went went home before we had a chance to order dessert at 9.45pm on a Saturday night, and the restaurant managers answer was to tell us he had to leave to get home for his wife who works at the hospital and he has to look after the kids lol .. As if that was our problem. The manager told us he could do a couple of the desserts himself off the menu as he has seen them done by the chef. Personally, we would have rather eaten a scabby horse than have him prepare any food in the kitchen. I doubt he even had basic food hygiene. The worst part was we had already heard the bar manager say he had sent the chef home as he did not realise that there were any tables left in the restaurant, and the manager had come up with the cover story! Between them it was a joke, for a rosette restaurant at 9.45pm on a Saturday night to have no chef! It should be noted that the bar manager was extremely apologetic afterwards and must have said sorry 10x times and gave us a bottle of Prosecco to enjoy in the room, which we appreciated. The restaurant manager who name begins with “A” did nothing other than make a sarcastic comment as we left. On a positive note, most of the other staff at the hotel we came across including some of the other restaurant staff, spa staff and front desk staff were great. The garden room was also okay, a little small and a little noisy with some carpet moth damage, but over all it was acceptable. Breakfast was also good, and the spa relaxing and well maintained, although the locked divider door in the middle of the spa and the extra charges to use the thermal suite are just not worth the extra money (£39 per person to use the thermal suite). If you are the owner/ director or senior management, take a good look at your restaurant manager and ask, is this guy really right for my signature restaurant? Good luck!

We stayed at Cayer Manor for the weekend, and the experience was deeply disappointing. This hotel does not meet 4-star standards in terms of structure, amenities, or service. Whoever awarded this property a 4-star rating seriously needs to be held accountable. While the building is old and could have character, it is poorly maintained. We paid £270 per night (even with a promotion), which did not include spa access. The website is misleading and makes it seem as though spa access is included, when in reality it costs an additional £39 per person. The spa itself is outdated and underwhelming, offering nothing that justifies the extra charge. The service was consistently poor. Several staff members were rude and unprofessional throughout our stay. On Saturday, which was my birthday, we chose to dine at the hotel restaurant. Although the food was good, the restaurant manager was openly rude and clearly rushing to close. Despite having a reservation at 8:30 pm, we were pushed out around 10:45 pm. This is completely unacceptable for a hotel claiming to be 4-star—there are professional ways to manage closing times, and this was not one of them. To make matters worse, on our last day my friend simply asked for a glass of water and was scolded by staff for not specifying which type of water she wanted. This kind of attitude is shocking and further highlights how poorly trained and discourteous the staff are. Overall, the hotel is overpriced, poorly maintained, and staffed by people who are not trained to deliver a 4-star experience. We would not recommend it.

Excellent location, beautiful gardens. Rooms and spa facilities very tired - unless you want to pay an extra £36 per day for a Spa upgrade - no thank you. Bedrooms and bathrooms old fashioned in the main house, our friends had a garden room - much nicer, upgraded and more modern facilities - despite the same cost!! We asked 4 times for a second bathrobe - never arrived Tip: If you book - ask for a garden room

Disappointing stay at this 4 star hotel for my 50th celebration. Lack of cleanliness in rooms, bathrobes on two separate occasions were dirty....first ones left in our room had what looked like makeup stains and the next bathrobe left had visible blood stains on the back! On top of this no one answered any of the calls we tried to make to reception from our hotel room. We tried to order room service one evening and again the phone just rang and rang.....gave up in the end. The senspa is lovely and the hotel pool is good too. There was minor ssues too and overall a disappointing stay which was not cheap. Unfortunately would not recommend to family and friends.

Very short staffed, no one to ever serve a coffee or a drink. Got back to our room at 3pm still not cleaned. That said the staff available were very nice but the management/owners should realise at these prices people expect service. I will not return here as I prefer other similar place in the New Forest that are much better and much cheaper .That said the French restaurant at the front is Superb, one of the best restaurants I've been to for ages ,L'Blaireau is a place I would gladly to on my next trip to the New Forrest

We just had christmas afternoon tea.. all i can say was how very dissapointed i was.. im gluten free. And the sandwiches were very dry with no butter.. and fillings not the best.. the scones that i had were hard i couldnt get a knife through so ended up using my hands and picking the hard bits off.. they had forgotten the Christmas reindeer, which made the tea more festive looking.. there were no table clothes which could of added to the festive experience.. all in all very dissapointed..

We recently stayed at Careys Manor Hotel & SenSpa for what was meant to be a spa weekend, and unfortunately the experience did not live up to the luxury positioning or price point. The accommodation felt dated, with a very small bathroom (no separate shower) and limited finishing touches you would normally expect at this level. Temperature control in the room was difficult, and small details such as a more varied minibar and basic bathroom extras were missing. Dining at Cambium Restaurant was disappointing in terms of food, service and ambience. In contrast, we ate at a neighbouring hotel the following evening and had a far superior experience at a similar cost. The spa facilities were the biggest let down. The pool, marked with swim lanes, felt more like a leisure centre than a luxury spa. The sauna and steam rooms were small, relaxation beds were limited, and overall the space lacked the calm, premium feel we had expected. Reception and concierge staff were helpful, though additional staff at busy check-in/check-out times would improve the experience. Overall service was mixed some staff were warm and professional, but at times the attentiveness and engagement expected of a luxury hotel were missing. Given the cost, the overall stay was underwhelming and did not reflect the standard being advertised.

Staff rude or not present. Charge for cooked breakfast even when you have spent £100’s pounds. It’s old and shabby the bed was really hard and had awful back ache the next day. Much better places for similar money.

Room was unbearable hot, but underfloor heating appeared to be on in the bathroom. No air con. Was provided with a fan. Breakfast was only continental, if you wanted a cooked breakfast this was chargeable. Hotel guests were expected to go to the pool 'ready'. This meant walking the hotel corridors in your bathrobe. Pool & sauna disappointingly. Sauna was the size of a postage stamp. Hydro facilities were changeable. Rats in the hotel garden. I would consider this hotel overpriced.
