Opinions de Amituofo Vegan Cuisine Brooklyn
Hot & sour soup and miso soup were amazing. We had kimchi dumplings and kale salad. Everything was fresh and flavorful, cant eat to be back and try more items.
Adorable restaurant with a great atmosphere. I live in Philly but came to the area for a day to get a tattoo. I had to eat beforehand so I stopped in here and I’m very thankful I did. I got the curry chicken and Oh. My. God. Absolutely delicious. And for good vegan food the price isn’t that bad, especially with the serving size. Will definitely come back when I visit again.
Food, service, and atmosphere were all fantastic! This spot is a must-visit for vegan food lovers flavorful, fresh, and beautifully plated. Here’s what we ordered and how each dish rated: • BBQ Roast Pork – 5/5: Rich, savory, and full of flavor. • Scallion Pancake – 5/5: Crispy outside, soft inside, perfectly paired with the dipping sauce. • Pan-Seared Vegetable Dumplings – 4/5: Tasty and well-cooked, though a bit more filling would have made them perfect. • Traditional Fried Rice – 5/5: Light, fluffy, and packed with veggies, great balance and texture. • Vegetarian Spring Rolls – 5/5: Crispy, fresh, and perfectly golden with a sweet chili sauce that complemented them well. • General Tso’s “Chicken” – 5/5: A vegan masterpiece, crunchy, tangy, and satisfying. One of the highlights of the meal. • Grilled Fish Banh Mi – 4/5: Crisp baguette, flavorful fillings, and a side of golden fries. We also enjoyed a variety of drinks (Sprite, Arnold Palmer, Thai Iced Tea), and the overall value for the price was great. The space is cozy and welcoming, with quick service and a calm atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their plant based menu. Highly recommend!
I really liked the chill vibes and the airy surroundings. Fair prices too. Had the scallion pancake and noodles, both were a bit too salty for me but thankfully not exceedingly oily. Great to have another vegan option nearby for when I’m in the area to eat Ethiopian at Bunna Cafe but forget that they’re closed on Tuesdays lol.
Great place Ample seating indoors and outside on a nice deck out front. Spacious high ceiling and cool lighting. The food is excellent - all the dishes we had were tasty and service was quick. Will definitely return. The host recommended: Fried cream cheese wontons in mango sauce Barbecue roast pork (seitan) Spicy avocado roll I then had the Thai noodle soup which was delicious and spicy with a ton of fresh cilantro and bean sprouts. Then we tried the house fried rice - smoky and wok prepared and yummy.
After walking 87 minutes from Manhattan, Amituofo was definitely the Vegan Cuisine I wanted to try out. The inside of their place was very decorative and creative. The server was very Nice and my order came out in 10 minutes. I had the BBQ "Roasted Pork" with Sweet and Sour "Chicken" and Brown Rice.
I ordered the Soy "Duck" Noodle Soup with udon noodles. I put some chili paste in once I plated it to give it some much needed spice. The broth was very good and I'm interested to know how they got the texture on the tofu. The Barbeque "Roasted Pork" was very tasty and I saved most of it for leftovers. It was a rather small portion, so I would recommend adding white rice and veggies to it if you're ordering it for delivery.
Such a wonderful vegan spot in Bushwick! They were so accommodating of allergies too- it’s definitely an allergy-friendly spot. The mock meats are all made in house and are very high quality. Prices are on the higher side but you 100% get premium quality. No delivery unfortunately- pick up only!
Some of the best asian food I've ever had and... it was all vegan! Hands down the best meat substitutes out there, you'll have a hard time going back to basic, stir-fried tofu after these delicacies. Getting to return to some old favorites since dropping meat was a dream come true, the General Tso's chicken and roasted 'duck' were phenomenal!
This was my first vegan restaurant experience and it was great. The atmosphere of the restaurant was so relaxing. I ordered the Seasame sushi with mango sauce as an apitteizer and and it was delicious. The mango sauce was a nice addition. As the main meal I had the pineapple fried rice and it was amazing, the broccoli and cauliflower was a nice touch. Overall, I would come here again and would recommend to others.
I like their pan Asian vegan concept, veganizing homemade pan Asian staples. And the phrase “amituofo” is a Buddhist phrase similar to hallelujah, and using it as a restaurant name adds a layer of zen to it. The food is fine, there are a lot of staple homemade dishes and some creative ones, encompassing many East Asian regions. Some dishes are better than the others. But I’m sure the taste will continue to improve.
Stopped in here one warm afternoon on a weekday and they had a wonderful breeze going through the restaurant with the front windows wide open. First timers (but not last timers)! We had the salt and pepper tofu- perfect crisp and soft insides with amazing flavor. I asked what sort of salt they used and was told regular salt - no my table salt at home does not have this flavor, fine keep your secrets! Sesame "Beef" - great savory flavor and not your sugary flavor from your local takeout! Good texture and chew as well. Garlic and Olive Oil Kale - this came out piping hot and all steamy but was definitely double-salted. We could not eat much of this but aside from the salt, it was flavored well. Great surprise ending was our bill was really low and I even asked if they charged us correctly (whats wrong with me you may ask)? We were told lunch items were half price on weekdays - woo! 5 star worthy if not for the kale!
I went to Amituofo for the first time yesterday. They were having a 50% off sale between 11AM - 3PM. I got a Chicken and Curry with brown rice and Miso soup. Aside of Ginger Ale and tap water. The food was good and the restaurant was clean too. My only issue was the waiter being a bit rude. I am assuming his afternoon wasn’t the best. 4 stars!
Great vegan food - we ordered takeout and it arrived warm and in less than an hour. The cream cheese wontons were good but pretty small and only 6 for $9. Not worth it on my opinion. The dumpling soup was good but had no flavor so ladded some soy sauce, chile oil and garlic which made it awesome. I liked that they separated the noodles & dumplings separate from broth. The tempeh sandwich was good but lacked flavor as well so we added salt, pepper and lemon which helped. The pineapple fried rice was pretty tasty with different veggies. Overall it was a good experience just needed some more flavor in our opinion.
Great restaurant with lots of choices . Highly recommend the KIMCHI DUMPLINGS SEARED!!! The food was cooked perfectly, the portions are great for anyone looking to fuel up, and the sauces/ spices really enhanced all the flavors. The prices are a bit high considering the food you’re eating, but that’s the fee we pay for convenience. I also liked how you are able to pay for your food via a QR Code provided on the receipt! Average price per person here is about $24 (entree, appetizer, tax and tip).
Serving Seitan in a gluten free dish is UNACCEPTABLE when we made clear that we have an allergy. "Oh, sorry, the kitchen made a mistake" won't help my partner being down for the count for a full week now.
