This is my first time trying this place and I’m very impressed. The food is amazing and I was surprised at how big the naan is. The staff is super friendly and they make you feel welcomed. The rasmali is a must to try. It’s melts in your mouth
This place is an experience in true hospitality! Beautiful restaurant, with comfortable seats. I ordered the chicken tikka masala and garlic naan with a Coca Cola to drink. The naan is huge! My boyfriend and I shared 1 and had some leftover. The staff is very helpful and attentive, consistently checking on you during the meal. We felt welcomed in even without a reservation.
I’m surprised by how good and authentic the food is. The lamb kebabs I should’ve taken some to go. And I really enjoyed the Goan beer. I was here with a huge tech group and they were very accommodating. Pic is not the best because it was being devoured.
I had no reservation but still they accomdated walk in guests. Home away from home. Enjoyed the taste of the food .. and great hospitality by Vijay ji and the entire staff. In pixxxx - Paneer Paratha, Raita, achar , papad - a complete meal 😁☺️
Late on Friday night, we got great service. Ordered 2 items from the Specials menu and both were delicious. Medium heat could have had more spice.
Celbrated our third wedding anniversary at NYC! Me and my wife found this hidden gem in NYC!! Food was amazing, ambiance is very well done. Customer service is top notch. Keep up the good work guys! The picture has the complimentary dessert they did for our anniversary!! Thank you Bukhara Grill and team!!
Happily, one of the best Indian spots in town was directly down the street from my hotel. The lovely atmosphere hints at the even lovelier meal. The korma was among the best I’ve had and the naan was second to none. The staff was also quite attentive, professional, and knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
If you’re searching for an authentic North Indian dining experience that goes beyond just great food, Bukhara Grill delivers in every way — and our recent visit was elevated to something truly special thanks to the incredible Vijay Verma! From the moment we walked in, the rustic yet sophisticated ambiance hit all the right notes: exposed stone walls, warm lighting, and that signature open tandoor kitchen where you can watch the magic happen. It’s the perfect blend of tradition and comfort, instantly transporting you to the Northwest Frontier. But what truly made the night unforgettable was Vijay Verma. His energy is infectious — fantastic service paired with an amazing personality that turns a meal into a memorable story session. Vijay shared delightful anecdotes about the dishes, the history behind the recipes (including how the iconic Dal Bukhara is slow-cooked for hours), and even some fun insider tips on pairing the perfect naan. He was attentive without being overbearing, humorous, and genuinely passionate about the food. You can tell he loves what he does, and it shows in every interaction. He made us feel like valued guests rather than just customers — a rare gem in any restaurant! The food? Absolute perfection. We started with an assortment of tandoori kebabs — smoky, tender, and bursting with flavor — followed by the legendary Dal Bukhara, creamy beyond words and finished with a swirl of butter. And don’t even get me started on the giant, table-sized naan — fresh from the tandoor, fluffy, and impossible to resist tearing into with your hands! Will definitely be back soon. Thank you, Vijay, for the stories, the laughs, and the impeccable hospitality! 😊
A clean upscale desi restroom serving halal food. The owner greeted us when we entered for dinner. The menu is vast with many options to choose from. We tried different items from the menu and everything was cooked well and delicious. The naan and other breads were baked fresh and so soft. The restaurant is clean and service is good. The only reason for not 5 stars for service was the waitress spilled mango lassi all over my daughter, jacket and clothes. We would definitely recommend this restaurant and are planning on coming again as didn’t try dessert this time.
We found Bukhara Grill in NYC completely by accident after getting off at Grand Central Station while looking for something to eat. It was later in the afternoon, and most restaurants in the area were fully booked — we assume many companies were having their Christmas parties at that time. Bukhara Grill was also almost full when we walked in without a reservation, but the staff took great care of 4 of us and quickly prepared a table. From the very beginning, we felt welcomed and very comfortable. We are big fans of Indian cuisine, and honestly, the food exceeded our wildest expectations. Everything was perfectly seasoned — with every bite we kept saying how delicious it was. The flavors were rich, well-balanced, and absolutely outstanding. We truly recommend this place to every Indian food lover — you will leave neither hungry nor disappointed. On top of that, the service was top-notch. A well-deserved 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!
Highly recommended Indian restaurant in NYC! As vegetarians, we truly appreciate the amazing variety of options Bukhara offers (Favorite - Dal Bukhara). We've visited this place three times in a month with family and friends, and they have never failed to impress. Raja and Arnav are wonderful hosts—they personally visit each table to ensure guests are satisfied. We genuinely appreciate the hardworking managers and staff who make every dining experience memorable and remind me of my favorite Bukhara in Delhi.
Words don't do justice in describing this place...U HAVE to go there in person to actually taste the true authentic flavors of each dish that Raja and Arnav curate...Kudos to the entire team for such an awesome experience! From the appetizers to the main course to the desserts and to end it with Masala Tea! What an evening!
We came to Bukhara Grill for a family dinner night and had an absolutely wonderful experience. The food was delicious, and the service was top-notch. What really stood out was the owner personally attending to each table, making us feel welcomed and valued. It's clear they care deeply about their guests' experience. We will definitely be coming back!
Fresh, authentic and classic Indian food. We ordered the chicken off the bone grill with 3 different flavours KABA Trio and combined it with Dal Bukhara and a large garlic naan bread. It was delicious and two people can easily be satisfied with this meal. This is soul food for the Indian food hunter.
Bukhara Grill in Midtown is a true gem and one of those places that delivers on every front. From the moment you walk in, the ambience sets the tone — warm lighting, tasteful décor, and an atmosphere that feels inviting while still keeping a touch of elegance. The attention to detail is clear, both in the way the restaurant is set up and in how the staff look after guests. The service was excellent throughout my visit. The staff were attentive, polite, and always available when needed without being overbearing. It added a lot to the overall experience and made the meal feel seamless. The food itself was outstanding. The Lal Maas was rich, spicy, and perfectly cooked, with that authentic Rajasthani depth of flavor that really stands out. The Goan fish curry was another highlight, fragrant, tangy, and well-balanced. The naan deserves its own mention — soft, fluffy, and generously portioned, it truly felt “fit for a king.” Portions across the board are large, making this an ideal place if you’ve got a serious appetite or want to share a variety of dishes. Overall, Bukhara Grill combines excellent food, generous portions, attentive service, and a comfortable ambience. It’s a place I’d happily return to and recommend to anyone looking for authentic Indian cuisine in Midtown.
Stopped by for the $25 lunch buffet and was pleasantly surprised by the variety of popular Indian dishes offered. The vegetarian options were especially impressive—flavorful and satisfying. Every dish we tried was delicious. The decor in the back adds a charming, cozy touch to the experience. Looking forward to coming back for another round!
I would actually rate the food closer to 4.5 stars. All of the food we had was great, but some were better than others. We really liked the tikki pind choley. This is a dish with a potato patty with chickpeas. It was really good, and well worth the price. The malai methi panner toast was good, but not great. It left a little something to be desired. I'm a big fan of the malai methi mutter (a creamy peas and fenugreek dish, sometimes with cottage cheese) variation. The garlic naan was good, but bigger than expected (enough for two). The lacha parantha was just a normal parantha, and was not layered and crunchy as expected.
Had been here for the first time. We got mixed kebab platter-delicious and succulent kebabs like malai, hariyali, seekh, goat. Only the goat one was tough and undercooked. For mains we got pandara road butter chicken, chicken biryani, goat rara with jalebi paratha. Food was good with ample quantities. Butter chicken was terribly sweet 🥴 goat rara was flavorful but had too much onion. Biryani was flavorful, came with a side of raita. Decor was good, staff were friendly but the place was too noisy with loud music making it hard to talk.
Went here with my husband for New Year’s Eve dinner. The vibe was festive and it was a nice setting for the occasion. The food was enjoyable and comforting, with good flavours, though a few dishes felt a little lacking on the flavour and texture. Service was okay, it felt pestering and confusing at times, definitely not as smooth as it could be. Overall it was a decent experience and a nice place for a holiday dinner, but not the most memorable meal.
Food is good. Service is terrible. The staff constantly hovered and didn’t give us enough time to decide what to order even though we asked before entering if we can still eat as it was 40 mins before the restaurant closed. Also, while we were still eating, they brought the check out even though there was still 10 mins remaining in closing time. Despite making the payment, the staff hovered around to see if we had signed the tip. We didn’t feel like we were given the service that a fine dining Indian restaurant promises. Go for the food, but keep your expectations super low as far as staff is concerned.
Went for a dinner on a Sunday night and had a terrible experience. We had ordered one appetizer and one entree . The entree- Kadhai paneer was extremely disappointing, the dish is no where close to how kadhai paneer is made. The paneer is hard and definitely a store bought paneer. It felt like they just tossed it in tomato gravy with bell peppers!! I was really looking forward to dining here but was very disappointed. The total bill came out to be $95 it completely felt like a waste. I’d rather go to tamarind or dhamaka at this price point
