Wandered in here based on the good reviews and was not disappointed. For vegetarians missing Al Pastor tacos, they have an incredible mushroom one that is a must-order. Food was fresh, balanced, and flavorful, and the service was quick and friendly. Happy hour of 2 for 1 Palomas or beer isn’t too shabby either. They have a back patio as well as a glass greenhouse area for protection from the elements.

I had my birthday here a few months ago. The vibe was amazing! The management team was incredibly thoughtful in helping me customize the space setup, menus, and playlist all to my liking. They have awesome margaritas and solid food! Would highly recommend for an affordable location in Williamsburg with great access to other bars for the rest of the night.

And Luis and his staff were incredible. They were super attentive and accommodating from the instant I reached out to inquire about the space, to helping us make a custom menu for the party, to taking such great care of us during the party itself. Besos calientes is the perfect mix of flavors for a drink. And the chicken burrito is amazing. I will return soon for dinner and try the famous tacos al pastor during the week.

We love it here!! Originally we discovered this hidden gem for cocktails, which are always fantastic. Then we threw our wedding after party here and they were wonderful! So helpful in planning, easy to work with Luis and everyone else on the team did all they could do make our event perfect. Pleasantly surprised by this new Mexican speakeasy that just opened up near Domino Park! The Positives: - Versatility: The space has a sit down bar, a private dining area and also an outside patio. Each spot offers a slightly different vibe which makes the place pretty cool. - The decor is all sourced from Mexico and they have done a really nice job in replicating the look and feel of a Mexican cantina. - Ambiance: We visited on a Wednesday and it was very laid back. They played really good music throughout our time there. Apparently it gets a lot livelier on the weekends so I will be sure to check them out. - Drinks: Win-win! The drinks are fairly priced and worth every penny. I would recommend The Palomas, Margaritas and Micheladas. They also offer stronger cocktails and tequila/mezcal flights. - Food: The theme is Mexican street food and they nailed it! We tried the flautas, guacamole and churros and all three dishes were good. - The Team: Ivan was the bartender for the night and he made sure to go above & beyond to make sure folks were enjoying themselves. A nice addition to the neighborhood!

This place is an amazing Brooklyn Gem! I loved everything about it! The drinks are 10/10 and the customer service is one of a kind! We got to meet the most down to earth bartender -Lucas who made all of our drinks to perfection. This is such a cute/ fun place for a date or a night out with friends. This hidden jem is delicious!!! The Guacamole with the platanos strips was absolutely amazing. We also had the Birria taquito appetizer and the piscado tacos. Both came with three pieces and were perfect for two people. If you are only going for food, it's fairly affordable. With drinks, their signature margaritas run between $15-$19. Which I feel is a little expensive for the size, however I'd definitely go back because the service and the food are top notch.

Definitely leans more on the younger side (early 20s) than I would have liked. I went on a Wednesday so not sure if that influenced it at all. While it “is” a speakeasy, I feel like the space is so large, I didn’t get the intimacy I wanted that I usually get from speakeasies. Also I didn’t love the music choice. I’d definitely go back again with friends and maybe a 3rd or 4th date. Not sure, I’d come here on a first date. Would recommend giving it a try!

This place is so amazing. we had a few drinks and tacos, split a piece of tres leche cake…. So good. Highly recommend. Carlos took care of us and the service was exceptional. Everything was beautifully crafted

Awesome place, this a must visit. Sometimes you walk into a place and just from the first impression vibes, you know you’re going to have a good time there. That was our experience at The Cactus Shop. It looks discreet from the outside but when you walk in, it’s a lively and colorful interior with a great energy. The cocktails are unique and tasty, you can’t go wrong even if you stop by just for drinks. We tried the chicken tostada and huitlacoche tacos — both were so good and all the sauces on the side were delicious. Ended with the perfect churros which were just what we needed. Relatively new to Williamsburg (opened in March 2022) but this is a must visit, we will definitely be back!

Coming from California, it’s been tough finding great taco spots in NYC. Tonight changed that. The tacos at The Cactus Shop now occupy the #1 spot for me in the city, and I can’t wait to come back. Strongly recommend coming here with a group and sharing several dishes — came with a group of 5 and we thoroughly enjoyed the guacamole, the salsa, birria and al pastor tacos, and basically every cocktail on the menu.

I had the best time celebrating my birthday here! Luis and the team ensured that everything was executed perfectly, from inviting me for a tasting to a custom menu with the cocktails that I chose from their expansive menu. John was a phenomenal server to our party and made sure everyone was well taken care of. The patio was able to fit ~60-70 people comfortably and everyone loved all of the cocktails and the food. My personal favorites are the chicken quesadilla and the birria tacos. I would highly recommend visiting and hosting a party here!

Amazing birthday experience!! I reserved the Sunroom for a party of 20-25 people and it's a perfect space. Private, but also open and sunny. The food was fantastic, with both individual options and shareables. The staff is super friendly and guided me through the process of reserving a party space, which I was doing for the first time. Got drinks and tacos here for a night on the town warm up. We had a large group, but the staff was incredibly friendly! The back area was beautiful to sit in - plenty of light. The drinks were so delicious! (Best michelda I've ever had!) And the food was good as well. Definitely a tad pricier than I was hoping, but all around a good meal. I would probably come back here for a fancy cocktail and guacamole friend date.

One of my favorite restaurants from my week in NYC. The food was top-notch, my boyfriend said the margarita was the best he’s ever had, the cocktails were inventive and delicious, and the overall decorations and vibe were so fun. Dinner and drinks here was incredibly enjoyable. Plantains and guacamole to start was a nice surprise and twist from the usual chips and dip. I got the tostadas de pollo and they were so good! For drinks I had the cactus Paloma, which was great, and one that had watermelon that was absolutely divine. If you’re in the Williamsburg area, checking out this restaurant is an absolute must!

This was the perfect place to host my bf’s birthday party! Luis was so easy to plan with, answering all of our questions and even creating a custom menu for us. Returned to TCS twice in the last 3 weeks. First with a buddy and his Mex girlfriend who lives in Mexico City and always wants to visit when she’s in NYC as she thinks it’s as authentic as anything similar at home. Second visit with an Australian friend who’s never been to Mexico but is now a convert. We sat in the courtyard seating area - really pretty and sexy ambiance. Delicious cocktails made from fresh juices and quality tequila & mezcal, plus an assortment of Mexican beers + wine options too. The very humbly described "up-scale street food" is absolutely delicious and worth coming for on its own if you’re not into cocktails. Quick, efficient and friendly bar and table service.

A really cool Mexican style/themed bar with the food to back it up and amazing cocktails. Do yourself a favour and hit up Taco Tuesday where you can get 4 tacos for $12 rather than the usual 3 for $15. All the tacos taste great, do go with a few people so you can share them. Even if you don't want to eat, the cocktails are worth the trip just for themselves.

Have you ever been invited to a party by a friend of a friend? You show up with said friend (Jess), wait in line, have a few drinks in the crowded bar. The bar/club is so crowded you actually bump into 2 separate people you know. You chat with them, make some small talk with others, and after about 30 minutes you realize, you are too tired and sober to make the most of that environment. Your friend Jess looks at you, her facial expression indicating she’s had the same realization. You decide yall should leave and get a snack. That decision brings you out of the crowded bar/club thing and you head to the closest food option possibly. But, what you don’t know is the gold that you have struck on. You’re met with a friendly staff and some fancy cocktails with perhaps the best salsa in the city. Maybe hunger is the best sauce or maybe friendship is the best spice. But this place is so good. You both are sitting at the corner seat at the bar in the busiest, loudest city in the world, but you’re chit chatting with an old friend over chips and quesadillas and suddenly life feels calm, the world is quiet, and all you focus on is good food drink and friendship Drinks, food, Benito style music. 5/5 stars

We were so glad we discovered The Cactus Shop for our engagement party in December! We worked with Luis to reserve the back patio and stage—he was incredibly responsive and accommodating & let us come by multiple times to see the space. The venue was perfect for our group of ~35 people, though would have fit up to 50 comfortably. We loved that it’s more of a square layout rather than a long, narrow bar, which made it much easier to mingle. Drinks came out quickly and were delicious, and the minimum was very reasonable compared to other places we looked at. Would absolutely recommend!!

The Cactus Shop was an amazing place to host my birthday. I selected the patio to host around 34 people which was more than enough space and worked with Luis to organize the whole thing. From selecting the cocktails and the shared foods and personalizing the menu and any questions I had he was there to help. John was an amazing server with the guests and ensured everyone had a drink and felt comfortable throughout. I strongly suggest the El Ray margaritas and the Birria tacos. 10/10 recommend. Everyone mentioned they want to return to try more items on the menu and the rest of the cocktails!

Small bites but absolutely delicious and well worth it. The two drinks we got were spicy, smoky, and flavorful. The ambiance was excellent and chill. Their cocktails and outdoor patio are the stars. I wouldn't plan to eat anything other than a snack here. Tbh, the tacos were really unremarkable. Not *bad* but definitely not great. The plantain chips and guac were pretty good. If you sit outside (which you should, it's so cute!)... But make sure you don't sit at the far back corner table. There are mosquitoes EVERYWHERE. My friends' and my ankles are covered in mosquito bites. I'll be back for drinks, but not dinner.

The decor does not really sync with its name - The Cactus Shop. I would have expected some Cactus theme going on in its decorations - but there were a handful of cactus plants just for namesake.. having said that, it has a great choice of cocktails and the service is very good. So definitely recommend. I took my 11 month old son here and they did not have a high chair for the baby. I am a vegetarian and the veggie options are very limited. But my husband loved the food.

Was in the area for a special event @ The W Loft across the street. While waiting, it was suggested that we were more than welcomed to grab a couple of cocktails at the Cactus Shop. A quaint and cozy bar, unfortunately we didn't have time to really explore the menu. However the drinks and Guac made a great impression that has me excited to return. Really nice and efficient staff, that did a great job with the large crowd that bombarded them all at once as we all flooded in. Just A Note: I believe that they are Cash-less.

This place is very well setup with indoor and outdoor seating. Their drinks options are amazing and we had cocktails. We tried the watermelon punch, Pineapple etc and all of them were good. Do not expect to get your tummy full here, the quantities are very low for the price, that’s the reason for 4 starts or else 5! Food is good too.

I’ve been here twice and tried the tomatillo mule, besos calientes, and the Mexican coffee martini. The tomatillo mule was cool to try but not something I would order again. The besos calientes was tasty and something I would order again but not spicy. The Mexican coffee martini is a nice version of an espresso martini. The bar is pretty spacious so go with friends.

Cactus Shop not only offered innovative and delicious cocktails, but some very flavorsome bites as well. Its dim and romantic lighting filled the entirety of the space, setting the overall mood and tone for the restaurant throughout. Cocktails were great. The pork tostadas were a let down. The pork itself was dry. Had the shrimp tacos, were pretty simple and tasted clean.

I’m writing this review as a Mexican. The tacos are not terrible. They’re not great either. I had a cauliflower taco which was breaded cauliflower with chipotle mayo. I don’t know why that’s a thing. It was also the only vegetarian option at the time. The churros are OK. The menu is very unoriginal. The decor, however, is beautiful. The drinks are solid. This is a great place to meet for a drink. Not food. It’s supposed to be a speakeasy, so you are supposed to ring an unmarked door and someone will answer. This is a place for pictures and cocktails. That’s it.

A pretty random find in Brooklyn. It’s a speakeasy since you go from inside a cactus shop to the restaurant which I thought was cute. But I found the food and drinks to be kind of mediocre. The staff is super nice though.

This is a very cool spot for getting a drink or going on a date but the menu is very limited and the food is very average. I personally ordered Al Pastor tacos and Chicken quesadilla and I only had one piece from each. But they have amazing cocktails.

68$ + tip for 8 tiny mediocre tacos. Not worth it anymore. We left and got more food down the street.
