Amazing coffee/tea and really great knowledgeable service!
As per usual nice strong cortado. Decent pain au chocolate
Not much seating, but you cannot beat the coffee.
This place has delicious coffee. It’s my go to when I forget to make cold brew!
FYI there's no indoor seating. Please don't yell at the staff over it this is Google's mistake. Though really just don't yell at the staff anywhere. Some of you people shouldn't be allowed outside.
My favorite coffee in NY! Their heartbreaker coffee beans are delicious, and I love their logo 😂😠
Great cup of coffee every time I come here, great baristas. Never disappointed!
Delicious drinks always and the most courteous staff. Thank you for providing a highlight in my day during these times.
Really good little coffee shop. The people were nice and led me to a cold brew which was very good!
This is definitely one of the better cafe's I've been to. Amazing staff and just a nice place to relax.
Nice and small place where we stopped by on an early sunday morning for a nice flat white and beautiful croissant and cookies ! Love the logo !
No clover at this location but then I learned today that a simple pour over yields better coffee anyway.
Really good espresso and drip coffee every time I’ve been
As good as it gets. Try the blueberry hibiscus iced tea on a hot summer day. You won't be disappointed.
Great coffee and great vibes. Go Mel! Go Brendan!
Delicious coffee and great staff. My favorite cafe in the hood.
Love this coffee place! The pastries and coffee are always on point :)
Cone to cafe grumoy whenever in in the neighborhood People always smiling and nice Cappuccino is awesome. ....
The cappuccino was very good, and strong. A tad bit pricey though.
A coffee shop with fast and friendly service, outdoor pandemic seating, and approximately one cute dog in line at all times.
Tiny space, but bright and inviting. Amazing coffee and friendly staff!
I keep wanting to be upset the coffee is pricey...but it's so amazing that every time I have some I chide myself for almost letting my cheapness deny me such pleasure. So, if you want to indulge with coffee, be comforted that this place makes an excellent cup of coffee every time. I have yet to be disappointed. And the service is super competent and still friendly, which breaks my coffee snob stereotypes!
These cafes are unique. Their locations are convenient to moving around the city to find a location, like on the way to MOMA. The staff is friendly, the service is fast, and the place is welcoming. Did not know about extra hot. Your connection is special as you go about your busy day or just walking the streets of NYC.
Today I had the best ice coffee (ever!) made with Heartbreaker Expresso, honey, oat milk and a generous amount of cinnamon. I use Heartbreaker Expresso in my Breville Expresso Maker with a small slice of orange peel/Oatly oat milk, and cinnamon, and it's just fantastic! Stocked up today on my favorite Expresso.
I visited from California and wanted some great coffee, this place delivered an incredible iced mocha that was so tasty. It was hands down the best iced mocha I have ever had. I would love to visit again in the future!
Outstanding coffee. Baristas take their time to make sure you have good cup. Don’t take it personally when they act like the cafe’s name... they’ll still make you a great coffee.
Stopped in here for a latte and a chai latte. Both were delicious, piping hot and made quickly. What more can you ask for when you just want to grab a quick drink to stroll with?
My latte was done very well with great milk texture and balanced coffee flavors. Cool vibe atmosphere with friendly staff.
A cozy, secluded café with phenomenal coffee. Though it's called Café Grumpy, the Batista was friendly and very skilled at his craft. There are some seats and a no-laptop policy, which gives you enough time to enjoy your coffee without encouraging people to linger. If you're in the area and looking for a great coffee, Café Grumpy is a great place to try.
Hands downdown Grumpy serves the best coffee in Park Slope. Their beans are not over roasted and they vary their variety daily. Single origin espresso is worth the extra $1. Once you have coffee here, it's almost impossible to drink coffee anywhere else.
Best iced mochas in the neighborhood yummy. Also tried the gingerbread iced latte the other day and it was out of this world! The staff are super friendly, efficient and amazing baristas :)
Great coffee, espresso drinks, and cold brew. I used to think Grumpy's prices were high a couple years ago but the market had caught up and now they're the going rate.
It has been a long time since I tried a good coffee in New York! I Know this sounds weird but I tried several cafes and unfortunately not all of them offer what Cafe Grumpy offers!
The best coffee in Park Slop, in my opinion. I been visiting this location for several years now and the coffee is consistently excellent.
Seeing Brendan in the mornings & drinking his amazing oat cappuccino is the best start to my day. It’s a small store with no bathroom but the people behind the counter are always such a joy to talk to. This cafe crates an amazing sense of community❣️
I’ve lived down the street from this location for 4 years now and if I roughly do the math, I’ve probably spent about ~ $700 here on lattes and cappuccino’s. I love all of the barista’s & Brendan is an absolute gem. He is not only the sweetest soul, but is also such a talented barista!!!!
Great espresso coffee options. They have some outdoor seating on the side of the street too, and the service is quick if you want to take it to go. Their vanilla latte was the perfect level of sweetness (not too much like Starbucks) and the croissant was good too
Delicious coffee and super friendly staff! Lots of drinks options, seasonal flavors, matches, and teas. Light assortment of pastries with a gluten free option. Barista knew enough about cross contamination to alert the gluten free items aren't celiac friendly - very impressive and appreciated!
Visited here in November of 2019 right at the tail end of my NYC visit, was already relegated to not having my pretentious Melbourne coffee palate satisfied until I stopped in here. Clean, full flavoured roast, perfectly brewed and served with a smile, this location was also a great spot to chill for a beat and people watch.
A great spot for a snack, coffee or tea. I came here on a Thursday afternoon to meet with a friend. Service was quick and the food was really good. It was a nice touch to have the coffee and green tea in a large glass cup. The banana bread that we ordered was fresh, soft and really well done.
Blackberry latte caught my eye! Delish made with decaf coffee and soy—vegan, baby! Expert Barista on duty. Made my hot version in record time! Get yours while supplies of this special syrup last. Yum!
Have always loved this place and the employees are very nice and patient. Recently I switched back to the seasonally appropriate hot coffee (vs. cold brew) and the new lids are just terrible! The coffee leaks everywhere and I lose at least half the cup between the cafe and the train. I keep going back thinking it was a one time user error but it's not, this is definitely because of the lids and the new material used. I fully support the less plastic, go green movement but I also don't want half a cup of coffee dripping down my arm. Bring your own cup if possible!
Amazing baristas! Although it’s been super cold at this location… but other than that great neighborhood spot!
Grumpy never misses 🧡🫵🏼 This is where I get my coffee beans almost every week! I love Brendan & Mellow who work there (shout-out Mellow’s STUNNING artwork/signs) + the rest of the staff is very welcoming as well! I’m always in + out so fast. Highly rec the honey oat latte or their seasonal flavors! FYI this isn’t a great work spot - no WiFi, very little seating. This is a grab n’ go kind of vibe.
I didn't know this was a chain, I usually avoid any chain coffee shop but I have been here twice now and the coffee is good. Hot, flavourful, very solid. The baristas are also nice. They have a tiny area by the window to sit.
exceptional coffee and service. always. I took two coffees - an oat cappuccino and a honey latte, iced, last time I was there: the iced coffee for the walk home and the hot one for the 8 hour road trip the next day - when I tell you how perfect the trip was, because this coffee delivered on taste and strength!!! thanks Grumpypants, saved my day, again 💞 love this place!
Cafe Grumpy’s is a coffee chain in NYC and the location in Park Slope, Brooklyn serves very good coffee. The space itself is quite small so I usually get it to go. There is a small assortment of pastries 🥐 if you’re feeling hungry. But the main attraction is the coffee and their unique drinks. I get the espresso ☕️ and it has a strong bite 💪🏼. Definitely gives you a kick but be warned, it is strong. You can really taste the beans and it packs a punch. If you’re looking for a quick hit of deliciously strong coffee on the go to give you a jolt ⚡️ get it here! Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ *also note there is no restroom which is another reason why to go is a good option
An intimate coffeeshop with my favorite (and strongest!) cold brew in Park Slope. The pumpkin spice cold brew is great as well as the matcha. The baristas -- Brendan, Mark and Melisande -- excel at creating a warm and welcoming community hub where neighbors frequently chat over a cup of coffee. I also love that Melisande's fantastic art is on display in the store right now, and the community sketchbook that's inside and invites customers to get in touch with their creative sides. Like Lena Dunham, Grumpy's holds a special place in my heart!
Grumpy Cafe is hands down one of the best spots in Brooklyn to enjoy a perfectly crafted coffee. From the moment you walk in, you’re greeted with a cozy, welcoming vibe that makes you want to stay a while. The atmosphere is warm, the music is just right, and the whole place has that special neighborhood feel. The baristas — Melisande, Brendan, and Mark — are absolute legends. Not only are they incredibly skilled at what they do, but they’re also some of the kindest, most genuine people you’ll meet. I’m super picky when it comes to mochas, and yet they always nail it. Every single time. It’s like they read my mind and deliver the perfect cup. Grumpy Cafe isn’t just a coffee shop — it’s a ritual, a comfort zone, and a highlight of my day.
I ordered the ginger chai latte and I was surprised on how delicious it was. I was afraid the ginger would be strong but it’s just a hint of taste. Like others have stated, their coffee is worth it! I ordered it with oat milk $6 Comfortable seating. High table and right height of chair. No way to charge your electronics by the the table (downside) Come with your electronics fully charged Right temp- warm
Café Grumpy’s on 7th Ave is a cozy neighborhood cafe with the best variety of coffee beans in the neighborhood. They serve pastries in front like lemon loafs and chocolate chip cookies. I get a matcha with almond milk, honey, and a shot of espresso. It’s called a grasshopper. The cafe also has a local gallery of artists they rotate every so often. The staff are the best, friendly, happy, and ready to prepare the best variety of drinks from cappuccinos to seasonal selections. You can find Cafe Grumpy’s located through the city locally owned, if you haven’t stopped in come by and you will leave happy!
Cute coffee shop !! The staff are so kind and the coffee was delicious
Quick, good coffee, just what you need Sunday mornings before work :-)
Very nice small coffee shop. The coffee is good and the staff is great. No restroom in the shop.
I love them, super hi-functioning and responsive staff. Treat coffee seriously but they don't make a big deal about it.
Good poor over coffee. Heavy Whipping Cream if available would have made it better!
The baristas are as grumpy as the coffee. I kinda like it; and I like the coffee even more.
Mocha was good. A little bit on the bitter side though. Place was small but kinda chill. It's a laptop free place. Very pricey for what you get. (A small English breakfast tea and small mocha was $8.25) Good pace on making the coffee ready. The staff was kinda grumpy as the name.
Very good coffee. I got the maple iced coffee and also hot which is a special. I would love if the place had seating but that means it would have to be bigger. I will try to visit their other location in Greenpoint.
Grumpy coffee is delicious and probably one of my favorite roasters in the city and this is a great location to visit if you're in the area. It's better if you are just getting coffee to go because there is not a whole lot of seating but definitely worth going to either way
The area is so busy not the best. But the store it’s self is ok. The service great. And the music. But feel like it’ll be better in a different location.
I got a surprisingly good flat white. They were friendly enough, and made my drink in my travel mug. It's a very small and bare space. The no laptop policy is sort of annoying--there was literally no one else there and I wanted a place to sit and read on a screen and I couldn't. I'd pretty much just consider this place a takeout spot, but for that the coffee is good. The prices seemed unfortunately normal, even a bit less than at least Ken other place I've been within a few blocks, although I got a seasonal coffee drink there, so that might have accounted for at least part of the price difference. There's bike parking out front.
Great coffee and espresso. You have to have some tolerance for people who are way too serious about their coffee and espresso, but if that's the price, I'll pay it. Speaking of price, their speciality filter coffees do seem a bit expensive for filter coffee, but again, very tasty. I get the beans sometimes to make at home - still expensive for beans I guess, but not quite as bad. And the logo is awesome.
This is a cute little and I do mean little coffee shop in Park Slope. You would hardly notice this place unless you are looking for it [it is right next to NYC Pet]. They have pretty good coffee [hot or iced] that can be a bit costly, but it is well worth it and they have some cute souvenirs as well. Service is fast and the staff is friendly. I will be back the next time I am in the area.
I had a cafe latte, which was ok, but the espresso shot was probably a bit overdone.
Not bad for a chain. Espresso good but not as sweet as l like. Staff a bit but chatting but nice enough
Small and not a lot of seating. Good to just get a cup of coffee to go but nothing special.
Good coffee but the service is themed after the name of the cafe
Good coffee but very expensive. Service can be a hit or miss. I once got a very nice lady. Another time I got a guy who made conversation with every other customer but me. Not sure if I had an RBF that day but made me feel excluded.
I want to love this place but they seem to be out of something almost every time I come in (cups, flavored syrups, straws, etc…) Could be a five star place with a little more consistency
nice inside, but $8 for a starbucks-quality matcha. wouldn't order again.
Truly grumpy waitress. Not unfriendly, just not friendly either. Coffee was good. Place saved me from a burst of rain. Wouldn’t come back though.
I love cafe grumpy coffee and am a huge fan of their pastries, but today they denied me use of their restroom, first lying that they didn't have one, despite being a paying customer, pregnant, and in distress, and I think other people should know that they did that.
I was highly disappointed by the matcha iced latte. For a unreasonable high price($7), it did not taste great at all- and thats coming from someone who isn’t picky- If I wanted a decent matcha latte and had to pick between here and dunkin, I would go to dunkin💀 probably wouldn’t go here again
The coffee is fine. They have decaf cold brew as well - though I wish they kept it colder and not at room temp. The thing I didn't like was no where did they say they have a no-laptop policy! This place was completely empty except for one person when I was there. So AFTER getting my coffee for 3.75 and including $1 tip, I get my laptop out, and am alerted to the no laptop policy. Thanks!
The worst iced coffee I've ever tasted. Tossed it after the first sip.
I went there to buy a few LBS of coffee as a gift and the girl at the counter was so nasty and unprofessional, got my coffee and will never come back there. That's how places close down because of the poor customer service.
I rarely write negative reviews, but I had such a negative experience with the barista, Sam. I had to order four drinks, but after I ordered three, Sam told me that I needed to pay TWICE before I was done. After I ordered three, she started slamming cups and the espresso machine before I was done ordering. I’ll quote, “I’ll say it for the second time, please tap your card,” when I said I was not done. I understand it may have been a hard day, but the rudeness and slamming of the cups is not appropriate.
Extremely disappointed with this coffee ☕️, the coffee tasted burnt. The oat milk Tahitian vanilla latte tasted horrible, no vanilla flavor at all. The chai latte tasted very diluted and foamy, too much cloves not enough of the other spices. The staff were ironically grumpy and unwelcoming, won’t be coming back.
Just picked-up an ice coffee (friendly service) - - but it tasted super acidic/tart and had strong notes of licorice. Very disappointing for $7.00
