Opinions de Coffee Spot Cafe Brooklyn
One of my fav coffee spot in the neighborhood. Super nice fresh pastries as well. Go there as much as I can. Great service and nice location
I’m a regular here. The food and pastries are tasty, great espresso drinks and tea varieties, reasonably priced.
Very good coffee shop with additional sitting hall. Before their had narrow room with standing bar tables around wall. Coffee is very tasty. The pastries selections are huge. Now they provide salads and soups. Their plenty tables outside.
Very good pastry! I even take a few pieces with me for the next day. The service is a bit slow (they are very busy, and sometimes you have to wait in line for a while) but the staff is super nice and gives you a warm service when your turn is up.
Great breakfast spot! Had a veggie cheese omelet, home fries and apple pancakes. Everything was delicious and service was quick and accurate. Cash only, but prices are very reasonable. Will definitely go back and try the lunch items.
I love the coffee I ordered. I always come to this cafe to drink and eat very delicious pastries such as peanut croissant. It also have very nice place to sit and interact with families and friends to hang out.
I have been coming here for over a decade and the service, coffee, and pastries never disappoint. My parents used to take me here when I was a toddler and we still use them to cater pastries. Their raspberry coffee has my heart.
Great local cafe with amazing pastries. They bake them in house. Nobody does it better, only your mom or a grandma probably and only if they can bake well. I like this place for many reasons but they only accept cash. Usually a problem and inconvenience.
Home-made desserts are amazing here - skip the croissants and go for one of the things they make - just ask! Prepared food is also great ( love the soups and the chicken stroganoff is to-die-for!). This little cafe has been around for 20+ years and is really a trademark of sheepshead bay!
Such a nice place. Employees make you feel so comfortable and warm even in coldest weather. Wish I would have a place like this in my neighborhood. If you go there you should try their teas and soft biscotti
Perfect cappuccinos & view of St Marks bell tower. Sit outside, listen for the church bells and you are taken to another reality ! Beautiful
A lovely neighborhood coffee shop with a nice selection of baked good and even several Russian soups on the menu. A large shaded outdoor area is available to have coffee and a snack on a nice weather day...
Best pastries in Brooklyn which are baked on premises,, the service is consistently good and, of course, thank you to the brave customers standing up to the guy terrorizing our neighborhood! You guys rock! ❤
The coffee is great, I will give you 5 stars with pleasure. The service was also good. A very clean place, which is important in such a difficult time, it is clear that the guys are keeping an eye on the cleanliness.
I love their home made pies! I ordered "smetannik" twice from them and it was delicious, even my picky eater daughter loved it! Thank you guys! Thumbs up for the baker! 👍
Always great service and delicious food. Been going here for 5 plus years and this place only gets better. They also have the best outside seating area!
I'm a customer for over 12 year. Place is under same owner that is constantly improving menu and service. Delicious fresh baked pastries , lunch options. Food is Russian /East European. Recommend to anybody just to grab a coffee with some nice cake, or jus have breakfast /lunch you will not be disappointed.
Delicious coffee and yummy food. Local mom and pop shop. They do get very busy but its so so so worth the wait. Highly recommend this place! All food and baking are done on premises. Very cozy feel in the there.
Amazing coffee shop gem in the neighborhood. Home baked pastries is a must and the food is excellent.
I love their coffee and pastries, which are always fresh and baked in-house. Likewise, their vareniki and omlettes are delicious as well. The prices are very reasonable, and they have a pretty decent sitting area. On Saturdays, it tends to be a bit crowded, but I always find a table. The interior of the cafe is very nice as well. It's unfortunate though that there is only one restroom currently for customers.
Great lentil soup and coffee's not too bad either. Excellent customer experience.
Amazing home made pastries on premises. Incredibly affordable sit down or to go menu. Very tasty menu, soups and sandwiches to go. Their coffee drinks are very well done the espresso machine is bomb. Not as bitter tasting as some of the others.
Very friendly and delicious coffee spot. Attentive and friendly personals. Great place. Can choose from delicious baked things made from scratch, breakfast any style to different kind of dishes made from dough like pelmenies and sweet dumplings to fish and meat 5 *
It’s one of few places in New York, where you feel very “ home-like “ atmosphere. It starts with collection of vintage and antique coffee grinders spread thru place, including vintage camera, paintings and over all design. Coffee and food is very good. Place is very popular with locals. Since it’s located in Sheepshead Bay Area of brooklyn, patrons are very diverse. I usually drop off for cappuccino or coffee lathe with pastry. As it warms out you can enjoy your coffee and food outside. I see same people coming day after day , I usually drop off in a morning at start of my shift, before calls start come in.
I work nearby, so visit this place often. Their pastry is giving me a nice Ukrainian grandma vibe, loooooove it! Coffee is good, especially when it’s made by the young blond girl. Not sure what her name is, but thank you for one of the best cappuccinos I’ve ever had❤️
My favorite place, Excellent service! Delicious breakfasts, cakes, mine and my son’s favorite is yogurt cake! Of course Coffee is the best there! This morning I had croissant with salmon and Philadelphia cheese! OMG it was Perfect! Thank you Lada! Thank you girls, Always pleasant with customers☀️Going there tomorrow again!!!
Love this place good food and an atmosphere, a bakery and pastry are always delicious! But service could be better.
Great Vibes, great food and coffee. And... bike parking. Can't go wrong here.
The food was great, the service was on point, Dasha our server is very polite, and great at her job, definitely would come here again. And another great thing is that Prices are very affordable.
One of my favourite coffee spot in the area! They always so busy, sometimes you can see a huge line outside of the cafe! I love friendly staff and great coffee, but I do love their huge selection of nice hand made of pastries! I definitely would recommend to try their croissants with salmon and dill! Very cute place in the area that been there for years!
Great place for coffee, pastries and tea. Be aware though: it's a CASH ONLY place. I didn't have any on me the first time I came, but the owner (yeap, they serve the customers together with a few baristas) was very cool about it and told me to pay next time. I had to remind them why I was paying double next time I visited. 😁👍🏻
This unassuming café turned out to be one of our favorite coffee stops. I was a few cents short of $10, and found out they only accept cards for purchases above that threshold. What stood out, though, was how little they made a fuss about it—they simply took what I had and moved on. That casual, no-problem attitude made it feel like a true neighborhood spot. We ordered a flat white, an Americano, and a cappuccino—all of which were smooth, well-balanced, and clearly made with care. No frills, no pretentious vibe—just good coffee and kind people. This place isn’t trying to be trendy; it’s just genuinely good, and that’s what made it great.
Great spot for a quick bite! Delicious coffee and baked goods! Highly recommend!
… this IS the neighborhood spot and has been for years. Perfectly situated at the fork of Sheepshead Bay Road where you can find delicious home-made pastries, breakfast/lunch plates, and many other delicacies. Always great neighborhood vibes where you never know who you will run into including Phil Collen from Def Leppard ✌️
For some reason the busiest coffee shop and restaurant on Sheepshead Bay of Brooklyn. Food is very decent, coffee is horrible, pastries are good. Could it be prices? A big plate of hearty breakfast is $6-7. There is always a line of customers, from morning till night, while all other restaurants in the area are kind if empty. Staff though is excellent, I must mention that.
I had the bagel with log and hashbrows. Fresh, Delicious, a large portion, and affordable price. The vibe inside is cozy. Will be coming back regularly.
The atmosphere here is amazing. I had been planning to visit for a long time, and finally experiencing that warm and wonderful welcome was absolutely worth it. Ksenia provided outstanding service, and the coffee was excellent. The dessert she recommended was especially incredible. Seeing such professional and personalized service in this area is rare truly well done.
Love the place, the owner of the spot has to be blessed to have such a good people working for her. Service is 10 out of 5, cookies are delicious, prices are reasonable too, will come back again!!!
Fantastic place shown to me by a diehard. It has become my day off breakfast place and a great place to pull up on a motorcycle. Food is very good and very reasonably priced. Staff are great and attentive. Catch me here most fridays.
Amazing place!!! I’m visiting this place with my Brooklyn friends again and again when I’m in town. Very tasty food and beautiful ambiance inside the cafe. You can sit outside or inside, plenty of room. I had an avocado toast, it’s delicious! It comes with two poached eggs on the English muffin and a fresh green salad. Soooo good! Bakery there is beyond great! Thank you!!!
It’s good all around. No inflation here yet post Covid. I make this my routine stop during cycling runs from Long Island. Fast service & outdoor seating in the sun. Only wish they had a take out order window. The line tends to get long during lunch and sometimes I’ll skip it if I see this. Always good to support local small businesses instead of Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts. 1/22/25 Good breakfast choices & espresso. Service can be improved upon. Waitress did not bring me a napkin or water.
CASH ONLY + LOCAL Very cute cafe with yummy coffee. The pastries all looked delicious, the one in the picture is chicken and tomato with herbs. Though the servers are a bit crude, it kinda just adds to the experience. The coffee was done quick and turned out very delicious, they make a really good Latte. The pastry was a good savory treat, very light but fulfilling. The atmosphere is very mixed if I’m being honest. When placing an order, you walk in to a narrow hallway that leads to the more rustic part of the cafe. It’s dark with dim lighting and few set selections. Whilst the other side is what you would consider a more modern cafe with marble tables and neutral color tones. Overall, very nice cafe to visit and have a nice sit down with coffee and a quick bite. Plus, why go to Starbucks when you can support a very local cafe for more of a unique bite.
Ambiance, value, friendliness is good. Cash only location and hit or miss service issues since its popular local spot. Great home cooking and awesome bakery. Highly recommended.
Great food, amazing home made dessert, cute atmosphere but place gets pretty busy during the day hours so be very patient with the service
The food was great - fresh and delicious, but the coffee was bad. Management, please, change your coffee beans and you’ll be a perfect spot! The girl who took my order was very nice and polite. In general, the place is very cozy with some bar-chairs by the wall and a few tables in the back.
A very authentic Ukranian Cafe with excellent bespoke pastries and sandwiches all prepared on site. The staff are generally nice though understanding English isn't guaranteed. The only negative is the terrible burnt and ordinary sub-diner coffee which I hope they'll change one day
The coffee is pretty good—definitely drinkable, though not the best. However, the desserts and food are tasty and are worth a try! Plus, the prices are pleasantly surprising. The only downside is their frustrating rule of "card payments only for purchases over $15," which seems like it could drive away customers and it feel like they’re losing out on customers and revenue with that policy.
A vibe for sure, I thought people were unfriendly but it was actually just an authentic cultural experience! Felt a little funky when I was getting such brusque and apparently annoyed answers from the baristas when I asked about the different pastries, and when I locked eyes and gently smiled at the lady in the corner unabashedly staring at me, stony faced, without a return smile, but you live and learn. Great place overall! I got the mushroom dill pine nut pastry, it was just ok.
The taste of the coffee will depend on the barista's mood. I used to be barista for years, and it pains me to see how they do it. But this is already the usual level of coffee for New York—it's drinkable. The desserts and food are just incredibly amazing! Definitely worth it. The prices will pleasantly surprise you. The worst thing about this coffee shop is the absolutely idiotic rule of "card payments only for purchases over $15." You're losing more money and customers because of this nonsense.
The coffee, drip to-go, is nutty and has little acidity, so that's OK. No body if you don't apply milk or cream, but if you drink it black, it's like coffee-flavored water. The employees have always had that stoic, cold face. I understand people have bad days, and it's hard to shake some personal issues, especially when you have to deal with customers. But that said, they seem as if they're there against their will, as if they came into the country and have to work there 1-3 years before being given their citizenship papers. It's a rite of passage that you must work here, especially after being smuggled in, and put in some time serving coffee and dill potatoes at the Coffee Spot before you're released. The baked in-house pastries are decent. The breakfast selection is fine, if you want an Eastern European dish to start your day. After dating more than enough Russian women in my life, eating that stuff, I'll pass. The women, and the food, just didn't match the hype. But here, for its price, it's ok.
It's definitely worthy of at least 4 stars for the coffee and variety fo pastries. But I took off 1 just because of how casual they were about their mask policy. I entered the store and I saw Noone wearing mask. I stepped out to see if there is something on the door that details their personal policy. I was from out of town and was definitely taken aback.
Small arrow coffee shop with predominantly Russian patrons and staff. Don't expect smiling service though it is fairly quick for a latte. The espresso was fairly watery and a little burned tasting so fairly disappointing. Interesting range of baked goods. Be prepared to be in everyone's way constantly due to the small size.
Over price same people every day you go I've lived in Sheepshead Bay; for three years 6/30 & absolutely nothing has changed very limited menu & some cashiers are super friendly, and polite ; the others only speak to you when you are their nationality. Hate to even say that!! I happen to be 💯% Italian , but live in a very Russian/ Ukraine neighborhood and LOVE 💕 it especially my 4.5 year old daughter who attends a private Russian school 🏫!! There is racism in each & every race they just make it SOOO obvious!! Horrible SMH
The food is great. But the space NEEDS an upgrade. The tiny counter always has a line of people- it makes customers turn away. Stacks of boxes and papers and items around the counter- no space to move for the poor young people working there. There are vacant buildings next door- invest in the space and upgrade your business!!!
Used to be nice place. Now coffee taste like on gas station. Selection of pastries very limited and service not good.
I like this place, but they always overcharge me and mess up my order. I ordered a sausage, egg, and cheese on a bagel, but they forgot the sausage.
I've been going here for a few years now for cappuccino, but after today it's a NO. I was in a hurry, I ordered 2 LG cappuccino s with 4 sugars. The coffees had very little Sugar & too much milk. This isn't the first time they did that, it's all new staff. There's 1 barista there, Tall skinny brunette who's been there a while, she's the ONLY one who makes good coffee! They use Miscela D'Oro coffee. I've been ordering that myself for home, delicious, so I'll just continue making Cappuccinos at home from now on.
The coffee is terrible (tastes burnt), and the cashiers are more interested in talking to each other than taking your order. I gave one extra star because the inside of the place is cute and the pastries look good.
Staff is rude and not willing to help unless you go up and ask and even then it’s like pulling teeth. Also, hate to say it but I feel hints of racism and superiority complex from the workers. I’ve been there about 10 times and each time was hopeful my experience would be different but no. Still the same unprofessional service and side eyes. Came to a boiling point today and decided to write this review. Prob a better experience for Slavic/Balkan customers. Wouldn’t recommend for anyone else if at all. ✌️
Cappuccino is bad, even with extra espresso shot, no coffee tastes.
The food and the atmosphere is amazing, but the service ladies are poorly trained and give really really bad service. I have been there twice and they forget about my order every single time, gave me incorrect orders, rude. Manager should really work on the staff.
Been here a couple times. Stopped by yesterday around 4:30-5pm, the girl working front counter very rude, unfriendly and seemed to be annoyed that she had to be there. Any question I asked her about pastries, she seemed very upset and her demeanor was horrible. This place would be much better if they hired people who actually want to work there :) while the food is good, the vibes are not!
Coffee shop looked good from outside but not the best.Caramel latte was unimpressive and bland. Service was ok. Very narrow area at the register when trying to pay and leave. Flies around the pastries in December is nasty. Avoid this place as it doesn’t seem sanitary and the coffee is nothing special
Was very much disappointed about quality of coffee, coffee is very weak, hard to even taste or smell coffee. When asked to substitute bad coffee with cold tea- they changed us for tea regardless we brought back the coffee. Will never buy coffee at the place again.
I just got coffee on my way home. The barista was very rude and disrespectful. Coffee was good but they need to improve service especially attitude of baristas towards customers.
I been here before and like the ice coffee ice doesn’t melt quick . But I went in today asked for hazelnut ice coffee thought sugar would be added . I asked if it was and the cashier lady got upset hitting her thighs like why I don’t say anything . She was so rude even if I wanted to go back her I wouldn’t go again . Change your attitude lady pls
I actually love the coffee and the pastries that this coffee place makes, and usually tolerate the rudeness of the girls who take my order. The girls are super friendly with patron customers, when it come to others the super friendliness dissipates, which is not fair to others because they get the biggest & nastiest attitude. Yesterday I went into the place and ordered 4 pieces of granola bar that costs $3.50 and 1 large coffee (with a shot of expresso) that is costs extra money....The prices are totally good and affordable for a homemade quality food & coffee...The girl behind the counter seemed new and kind of distraught of how to perform her job and how much items cost on the menu ( I was totally understanding and was very patient because we've all been there) Now tell me how did they charge me $20.25 for the whole order!!! 4 pieces of granola come out to be $14.....HOW in the world does my coffee cost $6.25?????? It's just regular coffee that cost maybe tops $3 and some extra cents for a shot of expresso added to it!!! I went back inside few seconds after leaving the shop and spoke to the owner! ALL HE DID WAS SHRUG HIS SHOULDERS SAYING THAT IT MUST BE THE CORRECT AMOUNT AND DIDNT EVEN WANT TO GO OVER THE PRICES I WAS CHARGED!!! I mean what kind of business is this?!?!! I left because I don't want to get into a whole big stink about $2-3...but you guys should know and be aware of what's going on!!!! The girl behind the counter isn't to blame because she is new...but the owner should take full responsibility and have the common courtesy and not CHEAT PEOPLE OUT OF THEIR $$! As well know that they are in America and that every customer is supposed to treated with common courtesy and respect!
after visiting this establishment I was left with an unpleasant feeling!! the staff only cares about getting tips, I don’t mind, but when they give service, not when I came and took my order myself, when you refuse to give a tip, they make a face and talk to you through force, doing me a favor!
oh lord.. i kinda get used to the rudeness of stuff here, when they keep talking russian even though i always talk in English. but i keep coming cause the food is relatively good comparing to other spots in the area. today i ordered for pick up, and after paying for my order they called to inform there is no item i ordered. they offered me to take something else, i denied. than in person they tried again to convince me to take coffee, other cakes, which i firmly denied asking just to refund the difference. after what the waitress rolled her eyes asking surprisingly - you wanna refund? i said, yes i do. she just handed me $5 from register, even though the amount should have been different, but it was not significant, so i accepted it. but simply the fact that the whole thing is made out of nothing and the way they make you feel uncomfortable for asking refund for the food they cannot provide is what surprises me anytime it happens. you guys really need to work with service and stop giving attitude, when your customers ask you something.
Just want to say i was always happy with service and orders i made before. My order was always same and simple. And exactly today i had a worst service ever and worst delivery ever. The stuff who take your order very unprofessional and rude. They have no idea how to serve the customers and that customers always right.Very rude and with very bad attitude they take order.Waist of your time and money.I would never tell anyone to go and eat there or order anything from this place.Worst expirience ever.I wonder if anybody would eat this mess they way they cook bring and serve picture is below.Let me know if anybody would eat that cold and smells like garbage
I rarely leave reviews, but this place made me do it! This is the third time I’ve encountered terrible service! The staff is unprofessional, rude, and unfriendly, acting as if they are forced to work here. Customers deserve better treatment and quality service. I will never return here with my family!
This place is a mess. It’s disgusting. You have fruit gnats flying all over the place all over the food. What’s even more crazier is the workers one of the girls especially with the light brown hair has such a nasty attitude and doesn’t know how to work for any type of business whatsoever, she stands there talking to the other workers while you have so many people waiting talking about nonsense laughing taking her time when you see a rush of people not only that apparently they don’t take credit cards and they have a minimum of $15 so she’s trying to tell me to buy something else when I don’t want nothing and I said I’m sorry I don’t carry cash on me not everybody does all the time anymore so she takes the two lattes that we ordered and throws them out in front of us with such force as if she hurt our feelings. Instead, she hurt the owners pockets because she could’ve charged an extra fee for charging something on a credit card that’s less than $15 instead of throwing everything out into the garbage as if it meant nothing to her , whoever owns this establishment you need to change your staff, their degrading your business and they’re not taking care of your customers nor the food that you have displayed. It’s really disgusting how many flies are just pooping all over the food and that’s going into peoples mouth now because that girl had a nasty attitude with me. health department needs to come and do a full inspection because this place needs one and you can thank your staff for all of this.. do your due diligence and make sure your business is ran well because customers need to be treated properly and not eat food that’s infested .
Batistas are very rude and unfriendly. Latte is like a milk. When I told the owner about stuff he said they are so busy to smile. What kind of excuse is that!!! They only want Russian customers. Very disappointed!!! We have been going there almost every week with my friends noooooo more.If you are not Russian don’t go you’re not welcomed!!! What a business!
Rude customer service nobody smiles. Not accepting credit cards.
Tall woman with long black hair. Terribly rude and ignored me multiple times when i wanted to ask her the price of a latte. When i was waiting for my coffee, she turned to her coworker and started talking about me in another language.
Coffee Spot – a cozy café in South Brooklyn, but… They hit you with the classic "10 minimum for card payments"rule. Cash? Only if you still carry bills like it’s 2005. And if you already spent $10 but suddenly crave one more strudel? Too bad. 🤷🏻♂️ They even suggested walking to an ATM to get cash—like I’m really going to leave mid-meal just to withdraw money. 🤦♂️
This is beautiful place with plenty of potential, but after my third visit, I decided it would be my last I called for a pick up for a chicken wrap and arrived in about 5 minutes. They tell me they’re still preparing it so I pay while I wait. It was a 20 minute wait from when I put in the call, and while waiting I was asking for an update, I even showed the call I made for pick up. Everyone ignored me The manager was smoking an electric cigarette on her shift and ignored me until I said hello in Russian. I explained that I wanted my money back and ONLY then did they finally give me my wrap. It fell apart and wasn’t fresh, which makes it difficult to say that the wait wasn’t reasonable. I felt prejudice in their service, and it means that I won’t be back. Phone ordered need to be organized Fresh food means more tips Staff shouldn’t be smoking in front of food/drinks Staff needs additional training to keep all customers happy, not just the ones that look and sound like them
My sincerest apologies to whoever thinks that double espresso is the size of regular coffee. The staff tried to convince me that double espresso is half the size of a regular coffee cup. I don't claim to be a coffee or espresso expert, however I've been to many great and some not so great places, and this I believe is the third or fourth time when the people making the coffee have no idea of what they are actually making. I believe there are at least a dozen coffee places I've reviewed, and I invite the owners and staff of this coffee spot to visit those and learn from the best. I realize that some are in other states and countries, but actually one of the best is near Kings Hwy and Nostrand Ave (I will not mention the name so it would look like I'm promoting the place). I honestly don't like to give negative reviews, many times I don't bother to give a review at all, this time I just had to say something.
I tried to support a local coffee shop. I ordered Omelette, oat latte, and croissant which cost about $15. The price is ok. But the service isn't pleasant, and the space is so narrow for the ordering experience. The omelette not tasting good, which I barely finished. The oat latte tastes weak. The whole wheat Croissant is fresh but the quality is just average. I ended up going to Starbucks to bring my morning back. I'm disappointed. It's my first time here, probably the last time. It makes me feel the shop takes advantage of its good location to carry its business.
Service is very poor, it was my 1st (and now last) time there, so when I was trying to order, the girl kept interrupting me to rush and all I tried to say was: Iced latte with almond milk, then when I was going to pay with card for the drink and a cake, she very annoyed told me it had to be minimum $10 and my bill was $9, so I totally understood and asked her to give me one more cake so it could be over $10 (it was just right next to her on the counter), she rolled her eyes and said nvm it’s okay and charged me the $9 It’s that kind of service that doesn’t matter how cute or good the food is (it was just average tbh), you will never go back!!!!!
It takes 30 minute for them to do bagel with salmon, nothing to cook, just bagel with salmon. Disappointed. Every time same story. Guys bagel with salmon does not involve cooking, it should not take you the whole 30 mins. People come to your place to grab quick and go, but unfortunately 😕
As a everyday customer, i will stop coming there. Just because extremely rude and unprofessional staff. Especially theres one little blonde with straight hair, acting like she doesnt care any single $ about you. I’ve read the previous reviews and all of bad reviews tell the same: RUDE&UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNTRAINED STAFF! You are losing customers, and you already lost a lot. I advice to the business owner as a business owner: whoever pulling your business down, just get rid of them, especially theres one i mentioned.
Extremely rude Disrespectful, impatient staff. Not all but this one employee today Treated us like were bothering them. No prices or names on the pastries yet she rolls her eyes when customer trying to describe what they want. Otherwise it’s a cozy cute place but they definitely need to work on their staff.
Cute place, but they seem to be short staffed. I seated and waited for 20min till somebody came to take my order. I ordered a soup that is already made, but I waited another 20min till they brought it… Last time I came to get a coffee also there were 3 girls behind the bar. One of them was busy but the other 2 were there just chatting while I was waiting… The service is actually awful
