Opinions de Daytime Brooklyn
What a sandwich!! I stopped by for a quick workday lunch recently and ordered a smoked turkey and bacon sandwich and WOW am I glad that I did. The meal, served quickly, was one of the best I've had in a while. In addition to the titular turkey and bacon (both perfectly seasoned and cooked) the fixings - including an appropriate clump of arugula, a delicate smear of sweet pepper jam, and a virtuosic arrangement of avocado slices - are equally top notch. Also included was a simple side salad and a handful of fresh cornichons. Paired with an iced coffee and a crisp beer, I can say that this was one of the best lunches/sandwiches/etc. I've had in the city. The price for everything was more than fair. I highly recommend them.
Great coffee, cute vibes! The everything crossiant was amazing but the lemon lavender cookie felt a little stale.
Great little cafe. The coffee and pastries are on point. The staff are very friendly
Great neighborhood spot with unique answers to caffeine cravings, yummy food. Very nice staff.
Great cold brew... Made me feel like I was back in Santa Cruz (we take out cold brew seriously) and the breakfast sandwiches are delicious.
A delicious chocolate croissant and excellent drip coffee (Daytime - Darling) with prompt friendly service. I enjoyed it very much😊
Wonderful local coffee shop with a wide and very nice selection of baked goods. Staff are great.
Listen, I like this Daytime place for a few reasons. 1) Food is Good. 2) every time I go there I always think about how happy I feel. 3) sometimes when I eat The Sandwich there, I give a little tip and the staff knows me. When you get older, my age (won’t say) it’s the little things that you learn to apreciate. Today was a Daytime day. Can’t beleive I didn’t review until now. Things with Sherry and Buster have my hands tied so that’s life. Good prices
Prices are amazing and let me TELL you about their hot chocolate! I used to think Ciprianis hot chocolate was the best this comes closest to it! $8 cheaper than Ciprianis! I’ve been telling all my customers on Graham Avenue to run in and try it! OMG!
Friendly staff. Consistently good coffee. Yummy pastries. The croissants are super buttery. My favorite in the neighborhood.
This place is awesome! I've got four other cute and tasty little coffee shops by me but I walk the extra three blocks to come to daytime that's how much we like it.
Daytime is always great. They're happy to alter so many things on their menu, they even suggested to be to put their scrambled egg sandwich on an everything croissant. Genius
Had the most delicious mushroom and cheese sandwich. Delicious cold brew coffee and chocolate chip cookie. Place is a little expensive but I think worth it.
Tasty pastries (including some gluten-free and vegan options) and sandwiches. Lower prices than many other independent coffee places.
One of the best breakfast sandwiches of Brooklyn. Added gruyère, arugula, pepper jam, and tomatoes. 🧑🍳💋 Also don’t sleep on the orange chocolate olive oil cake. Wowowow… ❤️❤️
Great coffee and delicious breakfasts. The music is often way too loud for such a small space though.
Daytime is the best. They have great coffee and baked goods. It is the perfect neighborhood spot.
I had a taste of a yummy chocolate chip cookie 🍪 there with my cousin Audrey and her husband Dan and also with my aunt Ado.
Phenomenal little place. Very reasonable prices, great "dark roast" coffee and cookies, friendly workers. Certain drinks even have free refills! 100% recommend
Probably my favorite latte in the neighborhood, and also love their homemade chai concentrate to enjoy at home! (And you get a significant discount on the refill if you return the original bottle!)
One of my favorite cafes in Brooklyn. Excellent coffee, pastries and food. Very friendly place. I go almost every day.
The food is pretty good. I recommend a bacon egg and cheese with pepper jam. Quite delicious. The cold brew is fantastic. The people are very nice.
What a lovely coffee shop. Airy ordering area and a couple small outdoor tables. Their tahini chocolate chip cookies were great.
Very good coffee, very good baristas. The vegan food options are really nice, and the pandemic-picnic bags look like a great deal.
Daytime is a great spot in the middle of a residential block in Windsor Terrace. Avocado toast is to die for especially with a friend egg. Nice healthy menu, great service and a selection of delicious teas.
lovely little cafe in quiet Windsor Terrace. Had a delicious cappuccino and a jam biscuit. Only open a month, but already a local favourite.
This place is very nice. Great food. Great value. Good vibe. Clearly owned and operated by people who are good and kind. Come here.
Great local coffee shop so I’m happy I stumbled upon it. Very cozy and friendly staff. The music they play is pretty great too.
Love Daytime, friendly people work here, the lattes are delicious, they'll give you a cup of drip coffee if you buy a bag of beans ("Strong and Tiny" - the best), love the sandwiches, the ginger molasses cookies. It always smells so good in there, bacon sizzling. Great sunlight, plant-filled windows. So lucky to have Daytime in the neighborhood! XO
A neighborhood coffee shop that I make a point of passing by! The coffees are well made and the sandwiches are delicious. The simply identified items are SO much tastier and more exciting than menu implies. I’ll even get a vegetarian toast, like mushroom, with bacon top. There’s a bench in front, but I prefer takeout for enjoying on my friend’s stoop.
A local hangout with some stylish folks in line and behind the counter. Excellent food, if I didn’t work, I would hang out here all day. Good people watching!
I love the vibes from this cafe. I ordered the mushroom melt and it was delicious. Just a little too much arugula for me but it was still good.
Extremely creative & unique baked goods for breakfast, cozy & hidden cafe; I always feel good going to this cafe for a coffee and/or treat.
Amazing coffee, pastries, and breakfast sandwiches. Service is always friendly. What else can I say—it’s a great spot! The only downside is it can get crowded on weekday mornings, but even that speaks to the quality & how great this place is. I hope it becomes a longtime Windsor Terrace institution.
A fantastic little cafe that has good coffee, great sandwiches, and even a small grocery section (mostly hot sauces, pasta, and condiments). My go-to is the egg sandwich with avocado on brioche. The pastries are also large and fresh (choco croissant is nice). The staff is lovely and service is prompt!
This place is a delight. Literally everything I've ever had from here has been fresh and delicious. Their flavor combinations are spot on and they have generous portions, especially with salads. The staff is also really friendly. Make sure to grab a punch card!
Great spot in Windsor terrace for sandwiches, coffee and cozy hangs! Small area for seating so not the best for working but really happy I stopped by, will definitely be back to try more of the food!
ricotta tomato arugula salad was delectable— vibrantly seasoned and spiced, sprinkled with delightfully crunchy roasted pepitas, brightened with lemon. perfect for eating in the park on a warm summer day. i will think about this salad often.
I went every morning to get a chai, but it was really for the beautiful walk. They are right in the middle of a great neighborhood and super close to the subway. While super small, they have a following of loyal locals. The food was delicious and they make a great chai. Perfect blend. Not too sweet, not too gingery.
Great place to stop before going to the park with your pup, servers are always nice and generally a very neighborly vibe. They also have really fun premade “pickwick baskets” you should for sure grab one time.
Seriously the best chai (& golden milk!) I’ve ever had (ofc they make it in house & sell it bottled for you to take home!). Wish it was less busy, but so happy they do so much business in the neighborhood! Amazing sandwiches too!
One of my go-to spots in Windsor Terrace! Really great cold brew and drip, espresso coffee and breakfast sandwiches. Decent selection of wine bottles for purchase too.
Grab and go was great. The grilled cheese and white bean sandwich was very tasty!
Small expresso bar near the Prospect Park. Good coffee drinks selection , I have got macchiato ($3.5), limited selection of pastries but good quality, I have ordered banana bread ($4). Place looks very traditional, nothing fancy, and prices vs quality is reasonable. Recommend as good coffee break stop near the park.
The coffee and matcha lemonade were both delicious (made by a very friendly barista) but the highlight was the breakfast sandwich with pickled shallots and pepper jam add-ons. I can’t stop thinking about it!
Had the most delicious latte and grilled cheese. The atmosphere is very nice, bright and airy and the staff is super friendly. Can't wait to go back!
This is my favorite place in my neighborhood. The plants make me happy, the coffee is great, cute dogs outside, the chocolate croissants are phenomenal, and the bacon egg and cheese is so good it's confusing.
came across this spot after a long walk through the park with my dog (they treated him to a big bowl of water) & it’s become my new favorite café. they have the best chai in BK (even make their own concentrate!) & one of the tastiest egg & cheese sandwiches! Can’t wait to try what else is on the menu!
Walked past this spot while on a walk the other day and thought it looked great. Went there the next Saturday morning and spent about 1.5 hrs there after getting a great cold brew. The fig & prosciutto sandwich was different, I would'nt get that one again but I would definitely go back and try something else. Seems like a great place to hangout any time of day.
We stopped there for just a few minute as we were thirsty and the homemade squizzed lemonade really did the trick! I also really liked the concept of communal table and the possibility of a paper straw choice! Nice service and really good decoration: a little peace of calm and serenity after a long day!
Love this coffee spot! Full food menu and excellent gluten free cookies. Relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
I love Daytime. Their food is so fresh and good— not sure what they do to their egg sandwiches but it’s amazing (get the pepper jam). Also, their biscuits are outta this world. My one gripe— 80% of the time I go there, there’s a ridiculously long line. This is on weekdays at random morning times (8:30am on a Wednesday?) and weekends are even worse. When I see it, I dip and go elsewhere. I’m sure the baristas enjoy making bank, but perhaps investing in a second person during regular times would be a good idea so more folks can be served (I think they do this on weekends)? At the very least, something is lacking on management’s part when it comes to optimizing the processes to allow quick service on the part of their staff. Daytime— I’m glad people love you, but it doesn’t need to be this way! Please fix your service time issue. Giving 5 stars regardless because I love you.
Visited this cute, cozy coffee shop and was genuinely impressed. It’s been a long time since I’ve had a Golden Turmeric Latte made this perfectly—absolutely delicious.
I’m always been a lime-lemon fan of everything, so when I knew they were going to have a Lemon Lime Curd Sandwich Cake with Toasted Vanilla Meringue I had to try it, I would say it was really good and I’ll come back for this. It was my first time been here, the place is cute & the staff is friendly. They have plenty of options between food and drinks. I just wish they have more seating.
Our daughter told us about this cafe and although it was quite a hike from south Prospect Park, it was worth it! We ordered the roasted Turkey & bacon sandwich. It was so good & filling! It also came with arugula salad. The dining area (counter & bar stool) is limited. But the good part is that the restroom is clean 👍🏼
I just came here for the first time today after passing this place so many times when I am in the area. This little cafe is super cute, very clean and COVID conscientious. They have a small, but impressive menu of items to eat and drink (including beer and wine). The staff is friendly and the barista made me a wicked (meaning good) Matcha Latte. I will definitely be back the next time I am in the area.
Daytime. If you don’t know about it and you’re not looking for it, you won’t find it. Great, great little coffee shop located on a random, residential street and actually, it’s quite close to Prospect Park. Daytime offers up a little bit of everything while you’re there; coffee, tea, fresh in-house made pasteries and sandwiches. *super cute and welcoming spot *bench out front for you to sit & enjoy your purchase(s) *very COVID conscious; plexiglass at counter, staff wearing masks all while still allowing you to grab your own sugar, lid & straw, alongside a bottle of hand sanitizer - I appreciate all of this! *in-house baked goods *give you the option for paper or plastic straw The coffee here is very good... I can certainly speak for that.
I simply adore cute coffee shops, and this place is the cutest in Windsor terrace area. They serve good coffee, yummy food (they have soup and sandwiches too!), and they even sell mustard! What else can you ask for? There is a free library too! Leave a book or take a book. It’s full of light 💡 too. The owner makes the best cappuccino. Try to catch him. I’ve also seen Prosecco on the shelve. Do you guys sell it too? If yes - I’m moving there! Haha. Keep great work up.
I didnt really get this place .says it's a coffe shop convenience store. The products they were selling seemed like more decorative then anything. I drink espresso. I think 3.50 for a short single shot might be just a bit to much . I get it tho the rent and overhead is no joke anymore . Looks like a decent spot in Windsor terrace to sit and be chill.
Very good quality drinks. I didn't try their food but it looked delicious. One star down for prices but I get it, area is not cheap around there. Good luck guys!
Everything I've tried from Daytime has been top notch, but recently the staff has been noticeably unfriendly. I stopped in three times last week and had the same experience each time: The staff was chatting in a friendly manner to each other but as soon as they had to face a customer (me), their face completely changed. I greeted them with a friendly "Hey, how's it going??" And didn't even get a response. The last time it happened I just said I'll be back later and left without purchasing anything. I went around the corner to Sam's deli and had a great breakfast sandwich for $6 and was reminded what neighbors are really like: Sam, the owner, was communicating with a customer about helping them move their car later that day. Another person came in just to say hi and compliment Sam on the new freezer he had for the ice cream selection. So if you're looking for a specific dish or pastry or a coffee drink from Daytime, go for it - but if you're feeling a little put out by the staff, don't forget: there's a really lovely deli that's been in the neighborhood for over 15 years right around the corner.
Good food and pleasant staff. The line is generally long and moves slowly. But the food is worth it. Baked goods are good. I've been here a couple times and the egg sandwich his the spot. The coffee is really good. Parking in the area is generally a nightmare but such if nyc life.
Kind staff at Daytime who greeted regulars with conversation. I had an iced cortado which was just the right size. Also, I had a breakfast sandwich and was delighted that you can pick and choose some extra add ons. Grabbed an everything croissant that was yummy too but wish I had asked for it to be warmed up because it was a little on the cold side.
Maybe they were just having an off day, but our muffin was dry and over-baked. My partner’s eggs were under seasoned. The barista was welcoming, but another employee was very off-putting and confrontational. Overall, probably a good neighborhood spot, maybe better on a different day. I probably won’t return.
Food and coffee are excellent. I had the egg sandwich with beer bacon, and it was absolutely delicious. The espresso was smooth, strong, and honestly one of the best I’ve had in the area. The space is beautiful, lots of plants, big windows, and a relaxed design. But the music was way too loud for the morning. Nonstop techno at full volume made it impossible to focus or take calls. I had to leave early to get work done somewhere else. Great place for a quick bite or casual hangout, but definitely not ideal for working remotely unless you’re bringing headphones and don’t mind the volume.
I would give a 3.8. Only ordered 2 sandwiches and they were delicious but they could have used more ham in one and more white bean in the other.
Nice to have a coffee shop in the area but the coffee is nothing special. The morning line is way too long to wait on the way to work. Staff is great, just need to kick it up a notch.
Cozy coffee shop with friendly baristas. Usually a pretty popular place on the weekends so expect to wait in line for about 10-15 mins. First time I ordered, the espresso and milk was burnt so the taste was intolerable. Second time I went, I got one of their speciality flavored drinks, which was better, but still not up to my expectations of a small specialty coffee shop.
The food and coffee here is always good... but of the ~5 or so times I've been here, the staff is always rude. They act like you're a huge imposition after you can finally order (always a wait to order, even without a line), and are dismissive and cold.
I don’t understand the hype. Coffee is always burnt and matcha always clumpy. Food portions small- sandwiches are slider/snack size- and underwhelming. Lines always out the door, very little seating. Largely homogenous clientele. Generally uncomfortable space to be in, even for a short amount of time. If you prefer a down-to-earth place you can actually sit and comfortably spend time, with better coffee, ELK cafe on PPSW is a much better option.
Terrible food and service. Stale pastry and was told 'thats just how it is'. Skip this place.
Barista decline making hot coffee at 5:10, probably because he wanted to leave exactly after coffee shop close at 5:30. He was rude to my wife. Won’t come back here and don’t recommend this place to anyone.
Barista too busy talking on her cell phone to notice your existence, then pulls you a sour espresso shot as a bonus. A new-school Brooklyn classic!
There was no room to sit and dine in. No one greeted me when I walked in and looked at the menu. Only stools and very little counter space up against the windows
