Opinions de Gnarly Eats Brooklyn
If Bob from Bob’s Burgers had a funky BK relative who cared about their burgers as much as Bob does, with studio Ghibli whimsy, this would be it. Favorite burger spot out there. Everything always tastes so good, so flavorful. How burgers should taste.
Really cute and unassuming neighborhood burger spot. Got 2x gnarly burgers and a side of tater tots for takeout. Service was great, fast and food was delicious. The shop is small with 6x table seats and 2x counter if you want to eat in The interior decoration is really cute, nautical Ghibli vibes. Will definitely be back 🍔🍟🥰
I saw a picture of The Beatles buttermilk crispy breaded chicken sandwich and’s I had to have it. In less than 8 hours I walked through the TARDIS door (bonus points from this sci-fi geek here), and had the sandwich before me in all its deliciousness. It was phenomenal. I really do think it might be the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had, but I’m going to have to go back at least a couple more time to verify. The owner Jimmy was super nice and I’m so glad this little hole in the wall place survived the pandemic! The atmosphere was eclectic and fun, from the TARDIS door to the various decorations inside. Prices are great and the food is even better!!
Very affordable. Amazing quality food. Delicious. Asian run. Jimmy is a great guy. Down to earth. Service was pretty quick. Sodas only $2. Just very small is all. And the front door is a TARDIS from doctor who!
Amazing home in the wall. It's become our go-to. Great burgers, fried chicken sandwich is amazing.
Astoundingly good food! It’s kid-friendly fare- burgers, fries, brisket- but all freshly-made and delicious
I stumbled upon this place when I was in Park Slope for a random Thursday for work - easily one of the, if not the best, chicken sandwiches I have ever had. I have never been impressed to the point of wanting to write a positive review about something but this sandwich was THAT good. Flavorful brown meat chicken with crispy buttermilk coating and just the right amount of kick. Gotta get the tots with it too. Stellar lunch. A little pricey but hey what isn’t with inflation these days? Pardon the less-than-professional pic, it looked so good I had to take a bite first.
I remembered when they first opened and their Beatles fried chicken sandwich was my favorite thing in the world and I’m happy to say years later this sandwich is still the 💣. As a lifelong Brooklynite I can’t say I’ve had every fried chicken sandwich in this city but I’ve had many and this is by far my favorite. The meat is tender and juicy. It’s a huge sandwich and a great deal! I’m glad that time hasn’t caused them to skimp on quality or quantity. Also the staff are very friendly and warm whenever I’m here. Love this place!!
Gnarly’s hamburger was the best hamburger I ate in NYC! Adding egg to hamburger is such a good idea 💡. This is a veeery small place but cosy and warm. It is quite messy to eat that hamburger but the waiter kindly said “oh feel free to eat with your hands and in a messy way, we give you wet towel and a lot of napkins” and yes she did 👌🏻 She also gave tap water 💧 . But it’s not the kindness of the waiter, it’s the A-mazing taste of the hamburger 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻💫💫💫💫
Food & drinks are fantastic; a bit pricey. They don't skimp on portion size or quality. You order delivery, pick-up, sit in the cozy bar, or at a sidewalk table in the summer. Family friendly, but better for groups of 2-4 people. Not good for large groups. They accept credit and debit cards and of course cash. Not wheelchair accessible. No parking lot or structure.
On a peculiarly hot summer day at August end, I arrived late evening to the friendly staff reminding me of a scuba instructor I once met in Vietnam - and I ordered a Beatles, a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, a side of Tater Tots, and a Mexican Coke. I sat there, looking at the vintage art on the walls, that gave a warm cafe vibe to the environment. The food arrived, kindly served by the only staff, allowing me to sit there and read whilst eating on my own. I ate the tater tots, which was deeply battered in oil and had a strong oily bready crunch, along with the sandwich, which contained a chicken patty similar to a schnitzel pounded flat fried then cut in half and stacked between a sauced bun, along with the classic Mexican Coke. All the food bear the resemble of the food I had expected, but with an extra oomph of deeply caked friedness to it, which cannot be aptly described as anything but "gnarly". It also meshed well with the sweltering heat, pummeling inside, with the AC turned off assuming because the shop was closing up, but nonetheless it was a peaceful and enjoyable evening eating at the local shop huddled up with my book on a summer night.
Tiny little burger & shake place. There were maybe 6 seats and then 3 stools. Got a pulled pork sandwich (came on two little rolls) + hand cut fries. Service was very fast. It’s a small, calming atmosphere. Food wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was solid and a good and causal bite. Fries were especially great. Not sure why some people had such a bad experience. It was a very satisfying, very small place to eat lunch. Would recommend!
I ordered chicken soup 1/8 of noodles rest broth .. $9 soup should be hearty.
I went in, not expecting much, I saw the reviews of many five stars, and how they said the burgers are incredible. Honestly, from the outside it blends in with the other buildings, it’s pretty dusty and it doesn’t call much attention to the establishment. I couldn’t really tell at least from the outside what they served so they could do a lot better there. I walked in into it to buy two restaurant has only three tables with the kitchen in the back and the cashier in the front so two employees the whole time It’s a very tiny tiny restaurant, but I can see that they used to have a lot of popularity back before the pandemic in about 2019 2018. I ordered the classic burger and some tater tot‘s. Give me a glass of water for free which is really nice. It came out to be only $22 including the tip so it is a pretty affordable restaurant now when I got the food to be honest with you, the tater tot‘s are pretty nice nothing to complain. They’re about an eight out of 10. The burger on the other hand was very solid to I would say 8.5 out of 10 if anything he use a little more seasoning, but there are other burgers that had a lot so much more to offer, such as one with cold pork, ones with chicken, sliders, etc. I think this is a great establishment to go to if you’re in the area with some friends (not too many) and you’re looking for something simple and neat to eat. I would come back here, if I could improve anything, I would just increase the marketing for the business, as the outside part of the establishment was pretty bland and dusty I couldn’t even tell if they were open or not. but the menu is very diverse. They have everything from ice cream chicken burgers, hamburgers fries shakes, soda anything you could possibly think of but for the near future I would increase the marketing over here and fix that front doorway but I will come back. A solid three out of five.
I really wonder why this place has high ratings! The entire order was cold up on pickup! Fries mushy, soggy up on pickup! As if they used someone else’s order since we picked up 15 min after ordering it! I will not go back, nothing Gnarly about this place! Specially when you spend 44$ in 2 burgers n 1 fries! Burgers don’t even taste good...44$ for this? Really? And you wonder if you can keep the customers when you cannot even give warm food
