I randomly ordered delivery from here and it was incredible. The brisket sandwich is next level!!!! You’d think this was a bbq joint
Great small place with a Tardis door and amazing sandwiches. Love this place. Try the buttermilk chicken sandwich, you won't be disappointed.
I love this place!! When I'm in town, I make sure to stop here for lunch. The burgers are sooo tasty and juicy
The best local joint for Burgers and finger foods in general! Great customer service. Highly Recommended
I like this place because of it small menu of choice sandwiches and sides. The space is small, but offers a few stools for casual dining on narrow counters.
Food was pretty decent. Specially the chicken sandwhich was so good. Fries were kinda sad. And these cheeseburger. The space is also small.
Brisket sandwich is killer. Cheesesteak is so good. Everybody sleeps on this place.
So good!! We got a bunch of food, it was hot, fresh, and ready when we arrived. Very happy with what we ordered and we’ll definitely get takeout next time we’re in the neighborhood.
one of the most tender burgers perfectly crafted doesn't matter your music tastes get the coldplay it rocks way harder than any britrock i've ever heard
Had what I was looking for: a healthy meal in the form of a roasted cauliflower salad, drink, and celebratory vanilla ice cream at a modest indoor table.
Excellent hamburger. Delicious. Very tasty. Lovely owner.
The Portobello burger is out of this world and so are the delicious slushies and the Japanese soft serve ice cream. Definitely a spot to visit with its eclectic ambiance
this is what a hamburger spot should feel like. chill and fun. burgers and drinks are a classic. if you're in the neighborhood it's worth the walk.
One of the best burgers I’ve ever had. Prices are fair and staff is friendly. Definitely would go again.
Awesome chicken sandwich and fries! Hole in the wall place but the food was dynamite.
They're cooked fresh, and the bread are so soft. Glad to have tater tots though! Super hot when they come out
I went to get some lunch here recommended by my dad after we did some nearby work. I'm not a burger guy, but the burgers here are amazing.
New neighborhood joint. Enthusiastic owner. Great Asian-inspired chicken wings and chicken sandwich. Reasonably priced. I hope it sticks around.
I've live in park slope for 6 years and I can't believe I waited so long to come here. Pleasantly surprised. Staff is super nice too!
Sweet potatoes fries are soooo good! Great burgers overall :)
I just wanted a good old fashion burger and they delivered. It's nice small spot with some cool pictures on the wall
The fried chicken sandwich is unreal. Super crispy and juicy at the same time. They have lunch specials too!
Great humble spot for burgers fries and corn dogs! There's small in door seating or your can grab and go. Burgers are nice big and filling with some flavorful selections. I was surprised by the extras like the corn dog and meatballs. A nice surprise wild card. Great for a quick bite or just sit in and pig out.
5 stars across the board! Perfect 10! They make the BEST burgers and the shakes are amazing! Service could not have been better. The food was exactly what I was hoping for. Highly recommend!!
Showed up here after browsing through reviews and passing through the neighborhood. Ordered classic burgers and a side of sweet potato fries and tots. Devoured that burger, perfectly cooked, fresh toppings, great sauce.
Delicious, and we had so much fun with the owner's sister! Sat at the bar telling stories, eating the most incredible Kitchen Sink Fries (seriously try them, you can ask them to leave off the egg if you're skeptical!) When I come back to Brooklyn, will finely come again!
Food was AMAZING burger 10 out of 10 onion rings BUST 10-10 (mind you I don’t even like onion rings but these hit different) 🤤🤤🤤
Gnarly Eats has very tasty food. The burgers are very savory and delicious. The wait can be long during lunch/rush hours but I find it worth it. Can't pass up trying this place. Server Lisa made the experience great, very friendly and professional.
So yes, I keep coming back here and I keep giving gnarly eats 5 stars because each and every time I go, I NEVER want to leave. The food, the atmosphere, the staff, the drinks....everything is so outstanding! On my most recent endeavor, I brought a friend who was visiting from LA (so he obviously had high food standards)...but I knew gnarly eats would live up to those. Long story short, he ate his face off and absolutely LOVED every second of it. We came on a Saturday night and surprisingly got seated immediately this is generally rare for a weekend at gnarly eats because it's always so packed). I had to let him try their famous buttermilk fried chicken burger.....that sauces and juiciness of the chicken is oh so good.
Had the impossible burger. Hit the spot so hard. Sweet potato fries yummy. Veggie patty burger my friend had fell apart, but was really tasty. Friendly and helpful staff. Coolest front door ever.
Delicious fried chicken sandwich. A simple and straightforward menu with creative burger combinations and tasty side offerings. Small space with limited seating, but a cozy atmosphere. I will definitely be going back.
OMG. I definitely love this place, the sink fries is so satisfied!! The burger is really juicy too. Mighty wing also amazed me!! Everything is DELICIOUS!!!! Definitely a big “GO BACK” place!!
Small shop hidden with a great pink lemonade and food!! I am a fan of the sweet potato fries and love their lemonade. Great service and staff are very welcoming. Will come again.
Delicious burgers, tots etc. Always quick to prepare orders. Definitely recommend!
I'll try not to gush but I love this little place. Family operation - they put a lot of care into their orders and the food is awesome. I'd suggest eating in or picking it up yourself as delivery can be a bit slow and you want to eat it fresh!
We were drawn in by the TARDIS door and we had a bite to eat. We both got chicken sandwiches. Some of the crispiest chicken I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating on a sandwich. Service was friendly and quick. A great neighborhood lunch stop!
Here's a 5-star review for Gnarly Eats: 5/5 Stars - A Game-Changing Burger and Onion Ring Experience! I just had the most epic meal at Gnarly Eats and I'm still reeling from the flavor explosion! The burger was hands-down the juiciest, most tender patty I've ever sunk my teeth into. The toppings were fresh and perfectly balanced, but the real star of the show was the patty itself - cooked to perfection and full of rich, meaty flavor. And don't even get me started on the Union Rings... crispy, golden, and utterly addictive! The perfect combination of crunchy exterior and sweet, oniony goodness inside. I could eat a whole bucket of these! The service was top-notch too - friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff who clearly passion about the food they serve. Gnarly Eats, you've earned a loyal customer in me. Can't wait to come back and try more of your gnarly grub! Highly recommend the burger and Union Rings - a match made in heaven!
I stopped in for lunch to get a burger and tater tots. The burger had a perfectly fried egg and the tots were crisp and hot. This was honestly the best meal I’ve had in a while
Had the Red Hot Chili Pepper sandwich and it was genuinely some of the best brisket I’ve tried in NYC. Positive reviews for the pulled pork and chicken sandwiches by the rest of our group. Cozy spot, will definitely be going back!
I've walked by dozens of times and finally stopped in to grab lunch. We got a burger and a fried chicken sandwich to-go—both super delicious! Service was friendly and really quick. Happy to have a new local lunch spot to add to the rotation!
Best neighborhood burger place to go. The place is small but very cozy and warm. The grateful dead burger was the BEST burger I ever have. It's so tasty and delicious, also, looks extremely satisfying to me!!! The sink fries is like the heaven...I got everything I like in a large bowl...and the strawberry milkshake...also, the best milkshake I ever had, just couldn't describe how much I love it!!! Definitely will come back with my friends!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at this amazing restaurant I stumbled upon, and it truly exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I walked in, the ambiance was enchanting, with dimmed lights, soothing music, and a welcoming staff. The service was impeccable, the cashier created a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere. Without a doubt, this restaurant has earned a top spot on my list, and I can't wait to return to this amazing restaurant.
I came down with a coldy/fluey thing today and was craving some good, healing chicken soup. Did a GrubHub search and found you guys. Got the soup and I have to say it was excellent. Real depth of flavor, everything fresh and herby, not too oniony, just what the doctor ordered! Next time I’ll try some of your other fare.
This cozy establishment serves one of the best burgers that you will ever bestow your eyes, and mouth upon. It's an absolutely immaculate burger, if you haven't tried the gnarly eats burger then you should 100% take the risk and you will not regret it at all. The rest of the menu is exceptional as well, they have salads, classic drinks, anything you could possibly desire is fit into gnarly eats. The only minor complaint I do have about the place is the fact that the space is very cramped and there isn't any music playing. Making it very hard to sit down with friends and "Vibe Out". The atmosphere is simply dead. It's a hole in the wall that, quite frankly, is ugly to feast your eyes on. This could be easily avoided by ordering to go or just ordering online, but it does suck that such an amazing food experience is met with a subpar atmosphere.
If Bob from Bob’s Burgers had a funky BK relative who cared about their burgers as much as Bob does, with studio Ghibli whimsy, this would be it. Favorite burger spot out there. Everything always tastes so good, so flavorful. How burgers should taste.
Really cute and unassuming neighborhood burger spot. Got 2x gnarly burgers and a side of tater tots for takeout. Service was great, fast and food was delicious. The shop is small with 6x table seats and 2x counter if you want to eat in The interior decoration is really cute, nautical Ghibli vibes. Will definitely be back 🍔🍟🥰
I saw a picture of The Beatles buttermilk crispy breaded chicken sandwich and’s I had to have it. In less than 8 hours I walked through the TARDIS door (bonus points from this sci-fi geek here), and had the sandwich before me in all its deliciousness. It was phenomenal. I really do think it might be the best chicken sandwich I’ve ever had, but I’m going to have to go back at least a couple more time to verify. The owner Jimmy was super nice and I’m so glad this little hole in the wall place survived the pandemic! The atmosphere was eclectic and fun, from the TARDIS door to the various decorations inside. Prices are great and the food is even better!!
Very affordable. Amazing quality food. Delicious. Asian run. Jimmy is a great guy. Down to earth. Service was pretty quick. Sodas only $2. Just very small is all. And the front door is a TARDIS from doctor who!
Amazing home in the wall. It's become our go-to. Great burgers, fried chicken sandwich is amazing.
Astoundingly good food! It’s kid-friendly fare- burgers, fries, brisket- but all freshly-made and delicious
I stumbled upon this place when I was in Park Slope for a random Thursday for work - easily one of the, if not the best, chicken sandwiches I have ever had. I have never been impressed to the point of wanting to write a positive review about something but this sandwich was THAT good. Flavorful brown meat chicken with crispy buttermilk coating and just the right amount of kick. Gotta get the tots with it too. Stellar lunch. A little pricey but hey what isn’t with inflation these days? Pardon the less-than-professional pic, it looked so good I had to take a bite first.
I remembered when they first opened and their Beatles fried chicken sandwich was my favorite thing in the world and I’m happy to say years later this sandwich is still the 💣. As a lifelong Brooklynite I can’t say I’ve had every fried chicken sandwich in this city but I’ve had many and this is by far my favorite. The meat is tender and juicy. It’s a huge sandwich and a great deal! I’m glad that time hasn’t caused them to skimp on quality or quantity. Also the staff are very friendly and warm whenever I’m here. Love this place!!
Gnarly’s hamburger was the best hamburger I ate in NYC! Adding egg to hamburger is such a good idea 💡. This is a veeery small place but cosy and warm. It is quite messy to eat that hamburger but the waiter kindly said “oh feel free to eat with your hands and in a messy way, we give you wet towel and a lot of napkins” and yes she did 👌🏻 She also gave tap water 💧 . But it’s not the kindness of the waiter, it’s the A-mazing taste of the hamburger 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻💫💫💫💫
Food & drinks are fantastic; a bit pricey. They don't skimp on portion size or quality. You order delivery, pick-up, sit in the cozy bar, or at a sidewalk table in the summer. Family friendly, but better for groups of 2-4 people. Not good for large groups. They accept credit and debit cards and of course cash. Not wheelchair accessible. No parking lot or structure.
Nice cozy atmosphere. Very good juicy cheeseburger. You can dine inside or outside.
The food is incredible and the staff is super nice. I was very fortunate because I came on a random Sat afternoon so it wasn’t packed because there is only about 6-8 chairs so I wish it was a little bigger.
A great addition to the neighborhood. Went for the first time today and had the classic burger while my husband had the chicken sandwich and we shared a side of fries. Everything was cooked perfectly and very tasty. I loved the addition of red cabbage to give the burger some crunch. The chicken sandwich was quite spicy so be warned! The place is small but welcoming. We chatted with the owner briefly and he was very friendly. Looking forward to trying their rolled ice cream when the weather is warmer.
Great burger in cool little spot... could be 5 stars but: fries came out almost 10 minutes before the burger which means you either eat them first or cold... and milkshake needed to be thicker. Will certainly return.
First time here with my lady and it was good. A little small and had to wait a little but it was worth it. The classic burger was on point and the strawberry basil lemonade was heavenly it. A great experience 🙂👍🏿
Quick, casual, cheap, and really delicious. I tried the grateful dead burger, the fried chicken sandwich, and fries. I thought everything tasted great. Really happy to have found this spot. Will be back.
It always the small places that bring the big taste. I really enjoyed the buttermilk chicken burger and strawberry basil lemonade. The fries were a bit soggy but the onion rings were great! I’d highly suggest eating in as I can not image how well the food would travel and it seems best fresh out the kitchen. It’s a storefront spot so there’s only room for less than 10 people to dine. What else makes this place great, the service. Definitely a place to add to the frequent list.
On a peculiarly hot summer day at August end, I arrived late evening to the friendly staff reminding me of a scuba instructor I once met in Vietnam - and I ordered a Beatles, a buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, a side of Tater Tots, and a Mexican Coke. I sat there, looking at the vintage art on the walls, that gave a warm cafe vibe to the environment. The food arrived, kindly served by the only staff, allowing me to sit there and read whilst eating on my own. I ate the tater tots, which was deeply battered in oil and had a strong oily bready crunch, along with the sandwich, which contained a chicken patty similar to a schnitzel pounded flat fried then cut in half and stacked between a sauced bun, along with the classic Mexican Coke. All the food bear the resemble of the food I had expected, but with an extra oomph of deeply caked friedness to it, which cannot be aptly described as anything but "gnarly". It also meshed well with the sweltering heat, pummeling inside, with the AC turned off assuming because the shop was closing up, but nonetheless it was a peaceful and enjoyable evening eating at the local shop huddled up with my book on a summer night.
Tiny little burger & shake place. There were maybe 6 seats and then 3 stools. Got a pulled pork sandwich (came on two little rolls) + hand cut fries. Service was very fast. It’s a small, calming atmosphere. Food wasn’t the best I’ve ever had but it was solid and a good and causal bite. Fries were especially great. Not sure why some people had such a bad experience. It was a very satisfying, very small place to eat lunch. Would recommend!
Pretty good impossible burger, but the price felt unfair for the portion size. Vanilla milkshake was a touch watery for me.
Fried chicken sandwich and fries were cold and tasted old. This place use to have the chicken do fresh and hot it was breaking apart. Fell off
We're vegetarian and thought the portobello mushroom burger was quite good. Much better than most portobello mushrooms I have been served :) The veggie burger was a bit sad though. I’d be shocked if it wasn’t just a heated up Dr. Praeger’s patty that you could get for $1 at the grocery store instead of paying $13 for it here. If getting that, I'd definitely recommend adding some toppings to make it more robust. Or better yet, but a veggie burger at the grocery store and heat it up at home.
This place has had several installations but Gnarly appesrs to have more than sticking power. It may have staying power. The place is small and menu it limited but.....the food is very delicious. The atmosphere seems like one of light hearted genuine fun.
Nice little spot, definitely not a dine in situation because my living room is bigger than the dining space. Fries were overcooked, and the salt was overbearing. Burger was good and the chicken wings, were okay.
I ordered chicken soup 1/8 of noodles rest broth .. $9 soup should be hearty.
I went in, not expecting much, I saw the reviews of many five stars, and how they said the burgers are incredible. Honestly, from the outside it blends in with the other buildings, it’s pretty dusty and it doesn’t call much attention to the establishment. I couldn’t really tell at least from the outside what they served so they could do a lot better there. I walked in into it to buy two restaurant has only three tables with the kitchen in the back and the cashier in the front so two employees the whole time It’s a very tiny tiny restaurant, but I can see that they used to have a lot of popularity back before the pandemic in about 2019 2018. I ordered the classic burger and some tater tot‘s. Give me a glass of water for free which is really nice. It came out to be only $22 including the tip so it is a pretty affordable restaurant now when I got the food to be honest with you, the tater tot‘s are pretty nice nothing to complain. They’re about an eight out of 10. The burger on the other hand was very solid to I would say 8.5 out of 10 if anything he use a little more seasoning, but there are other burgers that had a lot so much more to offer, such as one with cold pork, ones with chicken, sliders, etc. I think this is a great establishment to go to if you’re in the area with some friends (not too many) and you’re looking for something simple and neat to eat. I would come back here, if I could improve anything, I would just increase the marketing for the business, as the outside part of the establishment was pretty bland and dusty I couldn’t even tell if they were open or not. but the menu is very diverse. They have everything from ice cream chicken burgers, hamburgers fries shakes, soda anything you could possibly think of but for the near future I would increase the marketing over here and fix that front doorway but I will come back. A solid three out of five.
Teeny tiny portion of fries for $7, like not even enough to fill the cardboard tray. :/ Burgers were also small for the cost.
Meh, the Buttermilk Fried Chicken burger was meh. Overpriced! A seamless order for a Classic Burger and Buttermilk Fried chicken burger was over $30 because of an obsurd $4 delivery fee! Not worth the price. Gnarly Eats: The name is self explanatory!
I stopped in for a milkshake with my kids and waited 15 minutes while they proceeded to make food for takeout. They gave no indication that it would be a long wait. When I asked how much longer they anticipated they became very agitated with me and ignored me. Eventually told me it would be five minutes. I came back 10 minutes later and they told me they had forgotten. I at least got my money back.
Ordered food; adult grilled cheese wasn't good at all mostly because there was hardly any CHEESE. Butternut Squash/Kale soup was salty.
Just never very good. The chicken wings always taste a bit rancid under the decent sauce. I’ve tried it 3 times and am bummed to continue to dislike it.
i ordered delivery through postmates not too long ago my order arrived cold my chicken (which was undercooked) sandwich was deconstructed (and not listed as such upon ordering) and the jalapeño poppers were literally just fried mac and cheese balls with some jalapeños insultingly thrown into the container nice job to whoever did that, I'll tell everyone I know about this experience
Place is unprofessional, they lie about their pickup times and are always very late with the orders. If ordering from them expect a nice wait for burgers and fries.
I so wanted to support this small business but sorry to say I won’t be back. I was greatly disappointed. I’m staying in the neighborhood just for a week or so, and was in search of something fast, healthy and inexpensive. It’s a tiny place and the server (maybe the owner?) was very sweet. My salad came quickly. I was hopeful. But it was mostly lettuce. I know that rents are high but 17.00? for a plate of lettuce with a smattering of inexpensive ingredients? The staff opened the door. The flies began coming in. I ate as much as I could as I shooed the flies away. I wasn’t going to go to another restaurant at this point. I was sad for the restaurant that this was the best they could do. Sad that two old white guys sat at the one sidewalk table out front for a while seemingly wo having ordered anything. Sad that I had ordered a sad salad. Maybe their other menu items are better and the salad is on the menu just bc people expect any menu to have at least one salad. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing. But the flies were a definite buzz kill.
I really wonder why this place has high ratings! The entire order was cold up on pickup! Fries mushy, soggy up on pickup! As if they used someone else’s order since we picked up 15 min after ordering it! I will not go back, nothing Gnarly about this place! Specially when you spend 44$ in 2 burgers n 1 fries! Burgers don’t even taste good...44$ for this? Really? And you wonder if you can keep the customers when you cannot even give warm food
