One of The best Spanish food restaurants in Sunset Park 😍 food has flavor and it’s very tasty. I have gotten the chicharrón de pollo with bone in and without really good! The shrimp with rice soup, is off the hook good!!! Tostones, maduros whatever u get steak is Good Dominican Food not salty - just on point!!! I travel all the way from Staten Island just to eat here !!! I’ve been coming here since I was a little girl & I swear by them !! Best Dominican food hands down !!!
The service was a little slow but the food was great. They brought me more rice and beans to apologize for the main dish being late. The steak with onions and peppers was a solid 10 as were the rice and beans.
I recommend no other Dominican restaurant in sunset park’s other than El Buen Gusto. It’s been open since the late 80’s by the same owners who ARE Dominican so you will always get authentic food. PLUS, They deliver pretty far IF it’s a big order. In indoor dining is always great, place is very clean and the service is impeccable. They remodeled recently, so the place looks brand new. It’s warm in the winter and extremely comfortable in the summer. Great Latin flavors, all their dishes are fresh and nothing is reheated or frozen. I’ve been eating and ordering here for 33 years and their prices are FAIR!
I come here for one reason and one reason only. CHICHARRON DE POLLO SIN HUESO. My goodness. Flavor bomb. Ill be back soon
The sancocho is the best of Brooklyn the flavor like no other! I got an order of tostones to dip in my soup and they were nice and crunchy!! The pulpo (octopus) salad is amazing as well. I got a tres leches cake for desert which I liked very much.
Just had my baby shower this past weekend and let me tell you, I wouldn't have had anyone else make my party tray of Moro. I dont even think they normally make it, but over the years I've come to know their flavor profile and I knew they would knock it out the park. And boy let me tell you did they ever! DELICIOUS! I cant thank them enough for pulling thru with this! Delivered on time too! On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being your abuelas best rice ever, they hit a 23 for sure! Thank you again guys!
Really good food takes a little while to cook but make sure to have time to eat I love the Beef tripe soup and the rice and beans taste amazing with Baked chicken
Hands down, best Dominican place I've eaten. Consistancy is the key. I live in Jersey now and sadly, there is no Dominican restaurant that cook as well as this place. Until I find a good spot, this is my go to place!
Spanish food taste great. I remember having dishes similar to the ones here while growing up. I ordered a meal which included rice with avocado, and pernil (roast pork butt), and that was perfect. It definitely brought me back. The sauce to go with the rice and pernil just brought it to a different level. Very, very good.
First time visiting since it’s been under new ownership. You get less food, no coins for change and the food is burnt. Whether you buy fried chicken or pork, it’s either double fried to reheat or just burnt meat that is heavily seasoned. No complaints with the rice, beans and tostones.
The food is delicious, fresh made. If eating in the service is not that good, waitress basically just serves the food & doesn't attend the table to assure everything is ok. Certain foods do take long to come out depending on what you order. Delivery service is 1hr wait most times. But again their food is good so its worth the wait.
Food taste great not gonna lie. BUT expect for an hour or more wait just to eat food for 15 mins. The service sucks - they take FOREVER either to have the food delivered or you receive the food. I've been waiting for me food for like 30 mins now. & all they do is talk & be on their phone.
Some of the food in this restaurant is good but that is all lost on some of the rude counter staff. One of the ladies that works here thinks she is doing everyone a favor by taking their order and charging them for food.
Customer service was really bad. The girls in the front were very depressing. The food did not take long to come out but it does not taste good
I have been to this restaurant numerous times before. I live all the way out in Long island and whenever I come to sunset park I go here to eat food. Well today my experience was horrendous. We waited long time for our food. A party of two go their food before us. I came in with my wife two sons and my sister. We felt uncomfortable from the moment we got there. I had to ask the server numerous times for drinks she gave us the wrong drinks at first second my wifes grilled fish was way 2 salty. They changed it for fried shrimp. Everyone in my family when we got home felt stomach pains and I actually threw up like we got some kind of stomach Virus. I normally never complain but for my whole family to feel like they wanna vomit and my son to take pepto bismol theres an issue here. The service was horrible and the fact we got sick also will make me never want to go there again. I took my Goddaughter for her birthday with my sister and we ate and everything was fine however today was honestly a real off day and a waste of 70 that was spent.
Forgets items in the order and unwilling to deliver on their end at their convenience.
Ordered a simple meal and they messed it the girl at the register even assured me my meal was correct when I opened it the order was messed up and not how I ordered it.
Not top quality but it’s food,ordered garlic chicken breast and my lord the it was a SWAMP of oil!!!!!!!!
BEWARE OF YOUR CHANGE! I WAS SPECIFICALLY TOLD THAT THEY ROUND UP! It happened once where I didn't receive my coins. I thought it was a one off occurence and since It was less than a quarter didn't mind. Next visit, I took a second to notice I didn't receive my coins and addressed it- the response was "OH, WE USUALLY JUST ROUND UP". When receiving my "correct" change I was then shorted a dollar! I told her that she shorted me and finally received my actual change. IF you'll charge patrons change and expect them to pay it, then the establishment should give out the right tender NO MATTER HOW MUCH IT IS! Disgusting practice that they have going on.
