Delicious bagels at a reasonable price. Customer service was excellent. **No gluten free bagels.
Excellent bagels and friendly staff. I can’t count how many bagels I ate there but they were all really good. Perfect place for breakfast :)
Delicious bacon, egg, and cheese from this spot. Pleasant employees. However…customers…you need to come in here with at least an idea of what you want. Deciding and fumbling about what you want when it’s your turn is not how this works. If you don’t know your bagel order, move out of New York City.
This is one of my favorite spot to visit when I’m in the area. They have a great variety of bagels and some really good breakfast sandwiches.
As a native New Yorker I've had my fair share of good bagels and Flatbush Bagels does not disappoint. They're like the Kossars of Flatbush. Just that good. I had the everything with lox cream cheese. It was chewy without being too dense. The crust on the outside is not too thick and not too thin, so to not detract from the soft interior, and the amount of toppings were just right, not too salty and evenly spread. They have an impressively wide variety of different cream cheeses as well. Now is the time to indulge in the bacon scallion cream cheese, jalapeno cheddar or apple cinnamon. After all, it's not like anyone will be able to smell your breath during those zoom meetings!
Definitely the go-to in the neighborhood. The bagels are always fresh enough to melt the cream cheese, with the right balance of a soft chewy interior and an ever-so-slightly crunchy shell. Bonus points for having garlic & herb cream cheese - the one true flavor!
Just went there for the first time (I was a little skeptical since they opened because I heard mixed reviews). Anyway, they are quick to serve and their bagels are amazing! Just as good if not better than Bagel Pub. Thanks for a great breakfast!
My favorite bagels in the city, love em! The people are great here.
i love bagels. correction, i love egg bagels. so as a rare treat i visited this place for those & a tub of scallion cream cheese. i use the word treat because bagels got somewhst expensive, in a short time, over the years when i ate them regularly. anyway, i love this place. they produce the best tasting bagels in the neighborhood. their place is clean, the staff patient & friendly. if it wasn't for Bergen Bagels, the 1st location iam familiar with, i wouldnot have given the place a 2nd look. after all, Flatbush Bagels is technically their 2nd location.
A recent visit to Flatbush Bagel made a lasting impression on me. I absolutely love getting my everything bagel there & coffee. They have a great staff working there. Very courteous & kind. Very fair prices as well. Highly recommend.
Bagel was very generous and tasty! Service was great and indoor seating was available. I will be back!
Amazing Bagels! The feta and pesto cream cheese was the best cream cheese I had in a looong time. Wasn’t a fan of their iced coffee - but the bagel made me forgivable
These bagels are phenomenal. Compared to Bagel Pub and Zucker's, this is by far the best place for bagels. They always have a light shell on the outside and a perfectly soft, beautifully risen inside. The texture and freshness are amazing. I'm not sure what happened with Bergen Bagels, but I'm thankful we have Flatbush Bagel! They need a loyalty program!
Without a doubt the best bagels I have ever eaten in my life. I had these two mornings in a row while visiting some family nearby and my mind was blown. Crispy on the outside, chewy and soft on the inside, flavorful and plentiful toppings, and amazing flavor. Extremely fresh and delicious. Big variety in both bagels and cream cheese. The cream cheese is layed out in a case kind of like an ice cream parlor. Service was fast and friendly too. Probably a good thing I don't live nearby because I would surely gain 10kg quickly eating bagels every day! I will certainly be back here next time I am in town.
I work at a gym and someone ordered bagels from here. SO GOOD. Had the egg bagel and it was fresh and fluffy. My only complaint would be that the cream cheese and whatnot was very small. Still able to share, and they also didn’t label which was vegan and which wasn’t.
The best bagels in the neighborhood! Plus, the staff and service is excellent
Amazing people serving incredible bagels. These are some of the best bagels in NYC topped with a wide variety of tasty cream cheeses. You can’t go wrong with any flavor but my favorite is garlic and herb on everything bagel. Prices are very reasonable and the staff are very friendly.
Flatbush Bagel is our go-to weekend morning bagel spot. They have some hard hitters — garlic and herb / sun dried tomato are top tier, and their everything and egg bagels are so so good.
my favorite bagel spot for years now, everything is always fresh and delicious. I take all of my out of town friends to here to have a real NY bagel! Staff is always super kind and friendly. Love this place
This place is excellent - the bagels / sandwiches are amazing, but what really makes the experience is the customer service. Most negative reviews I have seen amount to 'this is a busy, popular restaurant and I was being nit-picky' - these are REAL people that work here! To add some context, I had a GH driver steal my order this morning and reordered immediately after they refunded me. Someone from the store called me instantly and asked what happened, recommended that I report it to GH and effectively hit a 'sanity check' just to make sure there was no funny business the second time around. Thank you FBB!!
Welcoming, lovely environment on a corner off Flatbush in Brooklyn that provides a wide variety of bagels and cream cheese. Don’t judge me, but I enjoyed an egg&chz bagel and bb bagel w/bb crm chz. Absolutely delicious. Staff is very friendly. Bring cash, you get a discount. I’ll be returning.
Had an everything bagel with jalapeno cream cheese and it was delicious 🤤 the staff was super sweet and helpful. Will be back tomorrow for breakfast for sure!
The bagels that came were hot and fresh, great tasting from an NYC bagel. The cashier and staff were nice and accommodating throughout the experience. The only down side was that we ordered hash browns and they were greasy and soggy but mainly came for the bagels and they delivered.
I ordered a bunch of bagels and spreads for my crew we were shooting a campaign across the street. The best bagels and spreads everything was made in house, the staff and owner were so kind. 🫶🏾🫶🏾🫶🏾
Such amazing bagels- any combo is amazing, but we especially love their jalapeño, chive, and blueberry smears. We also love their chicken salad bagel and their tuna salad bagels. The staff are so friendly. We come here weekly and are only disappointed if they are out of the type of bagel we were hoping to get.
Recently traveled to Brooklyn. Flatbush Bagels was close by and only a block away from the Parkside St station. This place is a gem. Great service and bagel sandwiches. We had the classic BEC. I had it on a toasted everything bagel and my husband had his on a toasted wheat everything bagel. Both were so good. Highly recommend.
I love stopping by Flatbush Bagel after my night shifts—it's the perfect spot for a satisfying breakfast. Their fresh bagels, croissants, muffins, and pastries are always a treat. What I appreciate most is the variety of cream cheese options available, allowing me to customize my bagel just the way I like it. The menu offers flexibility, so you can get creative with your breakfast choices. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. My only wish is that they had more seating space, as it can get quite packed during peak hours. Nevertheless, it's a fantastic spot for breakfast in the area!
This was one of the best bagels I’ve ever had in my life. I got the lox sandwich, with lox spread, tomatoes, capers and onions on and everything bagel, lightly toasted. They weren’t shy on the lox, the sandwich was packed, the bagel was the perfect consistency so the lox didn’t slide out when you bite. We waited Less than 5 minutes. They place was small so it can fill up quickly. Definitely worth a try!
Flatbush Bagels is not only the best place in New York to get a bagel, sandwich or coffee. It is an important part of a local community, a place where people meet in the morning. When visiting you'll be greeted by energetic, generous and friendly staff. This place is absolutely obligatory both for visitors who want to experience the local vibe as well as true New Yorkers. 10/10
My fav bagels in NYC. Love the range or cream cheeses. My only complaint is that a guy at the counter (he is almost always there) doesn’t care about taking your order right. I always have to double check it & it’s quite annoying.
3.5.. Hit or miss but still the best neighborhood spot for a good bagel & variety of spreads. I've had quick & easy service, I've also had them take my order and completely forget to make it while I stood there waiting.
I got the lox sandwich and was a good bagel with a good amount of lox to cream cheese ratio. Iced coffee was decent enough
Delicious bagels coming out of this shop. The right texture of firm and chewy. Only reason for one less star is the small amount of lox in bagel. I know Lox is expensive, but for a $15 dollar bagel, I expected more. Still, it was a really delicious sandwich which I paired with the hash browns. Would order again
Popped in there late afternoon on Saturday. Ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a poppy bagel, was not disappointed. Despite there being about 4-5 people ahead of me my order was ready in like 5 minutes flat. BEC was great, the poppy bagel was really nice- wish the bacon was a bit crispier, but other than that, really solid breakfast sandwich, made fresh and quickly. Definitely will be back!
The bagel bread was delicious. A true huge, fluffy, dense NY-style bagel. My one critique of my everything bagel was that there wasn’t a lot of flavoring on it, which was fine because the bagel itself was so good, but they could have gone less light on the “everything” part.
The breakfast is very good, but WOW!!! You pay $10 for a BEC on a croissant-I feel thats a little crazy. But a nice clean place, but make sure you bring a lot of money if you want to eat good
These are the best bagels around here. I would say you won’t find a better bagel about a mile or two in any direction from this place. And they are very good, not the best in town, but hey this is Bagel City, so that’s not a knock, in Detroit or Chicago or LA these Bagels are top-3 hands down. But in BK they are the best for a couple square miles . Still An accomplishment. Very friendly place also .
Got a blueberry muffin, a croissant, and ice coffee. The croissant and coffee were okay but the muffin was so bad that it prompted me to leave a review and I rarely ever do. It was very dry, dense, flavorless, and even a little underbaked in the middle. The staff is friendly and I like their bagels, which I will continue to buy, but this will be my last time ever getting any of their pastries.
Bagels are good (and they have egg everything!) BUT they are not following appropriate COVID procedures, usher way too many customers into the shop at one time, and rush to have so many people in and ordering at once that orders can get minorly messed up (ie bagels not toasted when they should have been). Ultimately, the lack of respect for distancing and COVID safety is a major issue right now.
Everything bagel had no pretzel salt on it..I need salt on my everything bagel lol..Not toasted enough..maybe toasted light, hence the toppings on my everything bagel did not pop! Sun dried tomato cream cheese was lackluster. I'll give them points for variety, it's the kinda place that will take a couple of visits for you to get want you want just right .I'll return and try something else.
Okay prices, very quick and efficient. Bacon, egg and cheese wasn’t very tasty and not a lot of bacon, plus I bit into a rather large egg shell piece. Good for a quick bite, otherwise would avoid.
They were out of most bagel flavors, including everything, when I visited at 12pm on a Saturday.
Hit or miss bagel spot. The bagels and service is okay but most of the time they don’t toast the bagels enough. Today, I asked for extra toasted and they finished my order of 2 items way too quickly which was suspicious. Went home to find the bagel was not toasted at all, the bagels were stale and chewy. Otherwise, they have a large selection of spreads so it’s a good spot to get some spreads to enjoy at home.
Got a salt bagel with the garlic and herb cream cheese and capers. The bagel and cream cheese were good but there were only 10 capers on the bagel. Also ordered a garlic bagel with scallion cream cheese and capers, they didn't cut the second bagel and it only has 4 capers on it.
Went there for a pastry and coffee. I got an apple turnover, which tasted a bit uncooked and doughy. The place is small and many parents come in with strollers. Prices were decent, but I don’t think I will come back to this place.
I hadn't bought a bagel in quite awhile so I stopped. The bagles looked delicious, the atmosphere was, for lack of a better word, polite, and the service was prompt. Yes, there's a BUT. Although the bagel had more than enough cream cheese it was too fat, too doughy, and lacked that, "oh my God I can eat this bagel with nothing on it and be in heaven " flavor. It was just a bagel. Blah, and it was sesame too. Maybe I expected too much.
The bagels here are adequate. That's it. They're not good, they're not bad. They're amazingly mediocre in an almost precise scientific way. You don't got much other choice around here so maybe add an extra star for convenience but there are way better bagels in BK. Like way better.
I got a bacon egg & cheese on an everything bagel. Most of the bagel's surface was bare, and the seasonings were heavy on oats (?) and light on sesame seeds, poppy, garlic, onion, etc. People are right that this is the best bagel shop in the area, and a fair place to get your morning bacon egg & cheese, but I think someone needs to open a new bagel shop on this side of the park and make them up their game.
Great bagels, nice people, and they are pretty quick and efficient (the line can get long). However, at 11:45am on a Saturday they had only three flavors available out of like 20 they usually offer, with only Plain on the way. That’s an egregious failure of what they do. Don’t know if it was a personnel error, but if not, they should change their system because it’s not working when the shop is busy.
Bagels overall are good but hard and too thick. They could be softer. The breakfast sandwich was good but the service wasn’t all that great. If it’s a big order then they will make you wait until they let all the others get their order first. Also taxes plus service fee plus credit card user fee spent $8 in fees and $60 on bagels and bagel sandwiches.. wasn’t that impressive.
THE SALT BAGELS ARE DIABOLICAL... do not get them i plead!!!
Their bagels are overly thick. The folks who work there mess up my orders 50% of the time. It cost me $12 for a turkey sandwich on a roll. The best thing about this place is that it won’t give you food poisoning.
They are very cheap and confusing here and there’s been a couple instances where I get berated for paying less than what I apparently owe even though they are the ones making my order and charging me. The most recent time I went there: I order turkey and cheese on a croissant, which is $6.50 at PLG nearby. I get to the register and pay like $7.50. So far so good. Then I’m waiting for my order as I’ve already paid $7.50. The lady at the register then calls me and has the order and she says oh this is a sandwich which is $12.99 and berates me for paying $7.50 even though she’s the one that charged me…like?????? I didn’t want a big sandwich and I didn’t make the actual order so like I’m very confused at this point. Overall they are cheap and I’d rather go to PLG where I know exactly what I’m ordering and what I’m paying for.
Bagel tasted like nothing. Texture was fine, it wasn’t stale, it literally just tasted like nothing. Got cinnamon raisin with tofu cream cheese to share with my partner. We did not experience a single flavor
Bagels are still good. The person answering the phone is unprofessional. Do better. The best toasted poppy seed bagel scooped out with scallion cream cheese, lettuce, and tomatoes that’s I have ever had. The breakfast of champions.
Well, the lox I ordered and paid for never made it onto my bagel and on a few occasions they've been out of the bagel type or cream cheese I've asked for. Giving 2 stars because it's conveniently located on my way to the train and the only bagel shop in the neighborhood.
Very middle of the road. Not the most flavorful youll get. I can see tourists or transplants calling this amazing but there are delis in the area with better tasting, cheaper and more filling bagels
It's better than most corner stores, but it's trash compared to other bagel shops... like really trash. Either most of the ratings are fake, the people in that area haven't eaten good bagels, or they just have extremely low standards because I really doubt it's just a coincidence that most other bagel shops I've been to just taste better.
It's such a love hate relationship with this place. The bagels are great but for how much you charge STOP BEING SO CHEAP! How much extra you charge me for vegetable cream cheese and then barely put any on? It is outrageously expensive and they are cheap. The worst combination.
Update: one star less... this time my order came wrong after I specifically called to make sure it was okay, and half my coffee was spilled. I generally really like this place, but today I placed an order of a bagel sandwich and coffee and when it arrived at my house, there was no bag and the coffee had spilled and even gotten into the sandwich itself. Not thrilled with a coffee-covered sandwich. Why would it be sent without a bag
This is a good neighborhood bagel place, but the bagels themselves could be better. Not chewy enough and the crust is too dry. Also the prices are a bit high for what this is. $12 for 1/4lb of lox plus tax and credit card fee seems like a lot.
the only bagel shop in the area… but the bagels were very dense, and thick. Not great. busy on weekend mornings but shouldn’t be more than 30 min
Bagels are okay but not the best. Biggest issue is there is no system with ordering, it is basically a free for all. Have tried giving this place multiple chances but unfortunately after getting the wrong order for the 4th time I am done with Flatbush bagel. Also bagel seasoning has gotten worse and worse. We got an everything bagel that was basically a plain bagel (barely a pinch of the seasonings on the bagel itself).
This place is run very poorly. If you go there when it’s busy be ready to wait for a long time for service and then for your order to be poorly executed. Ordered nova salmon which was mashed into a ball and rolled up in tin foil. Bagels are the shape of balls. The only show in town so they get away with it but very frustrating experience.
Edit: lowering to 1 star- my friend just ordered from here and literally everything was wrong - no lox on the bagel, neither bagel toasted, wrong drink. Just lol, pathetic I was gonna leave a 4 star but the latest time I ordered from here is over the line. Of the 10+ time I’ve had something here you can count on the order being wrong a solid ~50% of the time. Ask for it toasted? Get it cold. Order hot coffee? Get iced. Come on now. The only reason this place is open right now is because its the only bagel place around, you’re better off going to a deli off of Flatbush than this unreliable trash. Im giving 2 not 1 stars only because it does taste great when they get it right. Shame on the owners, the managers, whoever runs this place - the workers are friendly and cool.
Every single time I go here (at least once a week) they get the order wrong. Asked me 4 times to clarify toasted plain bagel with butter on the side, only for them to hand me an untoasted bagel, didn’t even cut it in half just straight off the shelf
Ordered bagels today via Doordash and it was truly disappointing. The bagels were not toasted and if it was, it wasn't wrapped in foil so it did not stay warm. Also, the ingredients were not stacked nicely. My bagel had so much cream cheese that the salmon that was in the bagel kept falling out every time I tried to eat it. It was just terrible. Will never order from here again.
Today around 1:50 pm. 2/1/23 I made an order for 4 croissants with tofu lox. While I was waiting, 5 people came after me, they all left with their orders while I was still waiting. The way the guy looked at me it felt he was doing it purposely . I am guessing he did not like my chocolate skin tone. You guys lost a paying customer.
Secon bad experience o had there. First time the olive cream cheese was not fresh. Today I ordered a bagel with tuna. With nothing else. Even if I paid 2 bucks for just a bagel. How can you justify a scoop of tuna for a price of $7.00 thats like saying the tuna salad is $28.00 a pound. Then have the nerve to ask me to pay extra for slice of onion. $9.00 for a tuna sandwich. Get real. This is not 5th Avenue.
Straight disappointment. Ordered a bacon egg n cheese and there was hardly any bacon and it was extremely under cooked.(wish I could share a picture) This place has gone downhill from when they first opened. Won't waist my money again!
Quality of service is going down I suppose as they get busier. Called and asked for my online order to be light and sweet. When my fiancée picked up and asked for more creamer the lady refused and said it’s light and sweet already So confused when a customer asked for something it’s denied when I’m paying? Won’t be back
Not everything available is fresh specifically croissants. Not an easy place to sit as the chairs are uneasy. Would not recommend for working.
My partner and I live in the neighborhood and we had heard good things about this establishment and were very excited to try a bagel from here. Our excitement turned into irritation when not only we got the wrong order, but the staff member who picked up the phone refused to take any accountability for the mistake, placing the full blame on Grubhub while being extremely dismissive and disrespectful to us. BUYER BEWARE, there are so many other fine places to eat.
There lox sandwich is delicious, BUT this morning I bought a $7 bagel with cream cheese and bacon. They put a pound of cold cream cheese, the bacon was very underdone, & bagel tasted like it was toasted for 2 seconds. This was the worst breakfast sandwich I have ever had from there. I would go back and get my money, but I’m already running late for work as is. The guy making my sandwich was nice but the cashier is always a little passive aggressive, so I try not to bother her too much for anything extra ‼️ smh this bagel was not worth $7. I legit could have gotten this same bagel in the corner store for $5 and it would have tasted better than this.
I ordered two bagels and they got it wrong. They put sausage in my BLT... and bacon in the SEC plus capers which I didn't put in my order.
Ordered a tuna melt panini and had a bad experience! I could smell and taste the oil that probably wasn’t changed for weeks. Have no idea why in the world there should be oil in a tuna sandwich. I ordered from this place for the first time. Very disappointed.
This was our go-to bagel spot for the last couple of years, but the last three times we’ve ordered from there it has gotten progressively worse. On the hunt for a new spot that actually cares are quality and consistency.
I used to like this place but it's gone downhill. I came in today to get a simple bagel with cream cheese. $9 minimum for credit card charges -- more than double the price of a cream cheese bagel sandwich. I'm not buying a $4 drink just to have a bagel. The minimum is not covering their CC fees, they are trying to swindle you into buying things you don't want. Lost my business!
Today I decided to stop her for breakfast and quickly regretted it. I order a bacon egg and cheese on a sesame bagel with cheddar cheese. I also requested beef bacon, but was told they didn’t have and I said ok. I went to cashier to pay and it came up to about $9. Behind the cashier I saw the lady assembling my sandwich where she then called over the chef who made it and another one of the workers to look at my sandwich and they were all looking at each other confused and speaking in Spanish. In that moment I knew something was wrong but she wrapped it in foil and gave me my order. I felt it was off so I took it to the table and opened it in the store and I see there a minuscule amount of cheese on the side. I’ve lived in New York my whole life so I’ve had countless amounts of BEC from delis and I’ve even been here before but this was purely bacon and egg. I went to the cashier and the lady turned to see what my concern was. I told them there’s no cheese in here. She took my sandwich at look at it surprised and said it’s melted . My image will be included and i would like to know if you see cheese in it cause I don’t. The cashier had the audacity to say if you want extra cheese it an additional $1. On top of it already being $9 which is absurd I should add an extra dollar to get cheese that should already come with it?! Crazy and laughable
Very disappointed!! A place that I would have once called one of my go-to spots has become a very unorganized and fast pace bagel shop. I find myself disappointed as I would normally go in person to flatbush bagel and decided to order online not once but twice. The first time when placing the order online calling the store to confirm the order only for the order to show up incorrectly. This was a BEC (Bacon Egg and Cheese) sandwich. On the phone they confirmed that the order will be correct and it arrived with ingredients that I'm allergic. The next order was placing again the same day to fix the mistake of the incorrect ingredients, only to find an employees hair in my food. To my disgust, I took a trip to the store to see what was going on, to speak with the manager about the hair in my food which I found very disrespectful. The next moment an employee came out saying the order was cancelled, however the employee was non apologetic for their own hair being in the food continued to argue that the order was cancelled and there shouldn't be a problem. This almost seemed intentional. I wouldn't recommend this place to you, if you want quality! It has become more important to the business to get your money than to serve the customers the correct food. I've had incorrect in person orders before with the incorrect ingredients as well as they are not writing down the orders and are not double checking to make sure the order is correct. I trusted this place to get better but the trust is broken. If you want fast food do not go here your better off at McDonald's as the business is changing!
