Opinions de Little Purity Brooklyn
I cannot recommend this great local diner more if I tried! The food is always good (especially breakfast), the service is exceptional, and the prices are fair.
Always the best, excellent food, excellent service, best burgers and ice cream
The owners are lovely people, and made every customer feel welcome. Service was excellent. I never expected all of us to be served at the same time which I always appreciate. We will all definitely return.
I visited on a Saturday morning and dad at the counter. It was only my 3rd or 4th time there, as I usually go to Big Purity. This is a family-owned business, and one of the owners was working behind the counter. He was super friendly and welcoming and chatted with me and the regulars on either side of me in between managing the restaurant. It was pretty busy with a steady stream of regulars who were all greeted very warmly. (I guess that's why there are so many of them.) I enjoyed listening to the banter almost as much as my egg sandwich. I ordered a bacon egg and cheese on a roll with a well-done bacon and an iced coffee. They asked me how I wanted my eggs scrambled, so the attention to detail is real! I drink a massive amount of water and rarely get enough of it when I go out. (Totally understandable given how busy waitstaff can get. ) at Little Purity, my glass was filled regularly and at least 5 times, so major extra credit to them! Little touches like hooks under the counter, comfortable stools, two exits, a nice bathroom, and high-quality bacon make this place stand out. I will be returning soon.
Editing a year later to add: One of our most frequented brunch spots in the neighborhood! Family owned, the *kindest* service you will get (Nick is a sweetheart!) & the coziest, homiest vibe! A diner but better. Highly rec the French Toast (brioche, omg). We will keep coming back over & over! Love this little neighborhood gem! Everything is delicious.
I don't live in New York City, but my wife does, and I like going to diners, and have been to several over the past few weeks. My wife and I thought this was the best one we've been to - the food is absolutely fantastic, the service and staff were very friendly and they genuinely take pride in what they do and their food. I will 100% make this a regular food stop.
My boyfriend and I ate here. The atmosphere was very warm, the staff speak to each other kindly. The food was 10/10. I would come again
Just the best. Family owned and run. Will go above and beyond every time. Owners are always there and will personally handle any problem. i’ve never had a bad meal in this establishment.
I’ve been bringing my son Lucas here since he is 1.5 years old 🥹 even before we moved to South Slope, this is a family owned classic Park Slope diner, brother & sister Nick ♥️ Erene have been showing us their family love & can’t believe how much my son has grown still loving their chicken fingers. I personally love their homemade breakfast fries and grits. They have the best grits. Their grits is better than the grits at fancy places. As a parent in Park Slope, this this is my to go to a place in the hood, and he rarely eats out. I never worry when I have to bring him here. It’s the same good ‘ol breaded chicken fingers that he loved when he barely had teeth. They make us feel like family & while so many changes happens to the neighborhood. I hope this little Gem stays the same. Little purity is packed on Sundays, their food is great & it’s great service. Made me live the real NYC diner experience. Super friendly and chatty crew, no one ever gets bored there!
This is a review for the multiple times we have been there with my family. This is a cozy dinner where the staff/owners will easily remember you, they are friendly and yes sometimes a bit chatty but that’s part of the charm of this place. Indoor and an outdoor space that will hopefully remain after the pandemic. Comfy seats! Tasty and good portion/size dishes, overall it’s a great experience! Try them if you haven’t already. They are not on any online delivery service but give them a call and you will get your food delivered at home promptly!
We can find the same taste every time we come. The employees are very friendly and aleays welcoming us so great. The fried chicken Greek sandwich that Nick recommended to us was incredibly delicious 1000/10 Surly Bustard Sandwich, homemade mozarella sticks( marinara sauce😍), buffalo chicken wings our always favorites
i always have a great time here. food is good and service is quick, exactly what I want from a diner experience. never been disappointed. the prices are a little high, but nothing unexpected for park slope.
Perfect Brooklyn diner experience that still exists in fabulous Park Slope. This diner packs a punch, with great service, great food, and great atmosphere. The location is perfect in Brownstone Park Slope on 7th Avenue. The omelettes are cooked to perfection, the home fries are sooo delicious. The tuna salad sandwich is the best one I’ve had in all of NYC. Worth the trip, just for that if you like a firm tuna salad, that’s not runny and soggy. Also really clean and staff handles the lines very efficiently, you never feel rushed, and the line typically moves very quickly.
FANTASTIC diner with outstanding customer service. Holy cow, everyone who worked there were the friendliest people you ever met. Food and vibe was immaculate. Best diner experience I've had in NYC
Awesome breakfast spot. Good diners can be hard to come by in Brooklyn — this place is legit. Good food and really nice service.
A beautiful gem of a diner. Almost as good as Norms next door. If you want a great discussion about Dr Fauci or crypto, ask for the guy with the beard. As Perry once said "you had your chance last night"...to try the menu. Now you have the chance to try it again today.
i don’t know much about the story behind Little Purity , but the vibe I get from here, makes me feel like they deserve to thrive. I enjoyed my meal and hope that many more people come enjoy and support this business.
The perfect diner. The service is so amazing. I loved my eggs and toast. Tons of options, many things are veggie friendly. The strawberry jam is INCREDIBLE. Our server was super sweet. Busy on the weekends and absolutely worth the wait
Great little local diner. My fiancé and I came for a late lunch and were craving for some classic diner fare. I had ordered the “slope” burger with the addition of fries while he got the patty melt sandwich served on rye bread. It came with some surprisingly amazing spicy pickles (not too spicy), and coleslaw. Also, free refills of coffee which the servers were always on top of. Will definitely be coming back soon
We were there like 2 days ago, Adam Sandler Doppelgänger who (i think) owns this place seems like a passionate guy who cares a lot about his (even potential) customers. The restaurant was full but he requested a name and kindly asked us if we could wait 10/15 minutes outside. It was worth the wait. The choice was huge, we didnt even know what to order, the food was really good, the service was nice and people were smiling. Lovely place.
amazing staff, amazing food, amazing ambiance, cannot recommend enough (but also don’t blow up my spot)
Hands down the best diner in Park Slope, maybe even the best in Brooklyn. Their food is off the charts delicious and the menu is what you would expect a local diner to have, plus some really spectacular burger choices for later in the day. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive, including the owner whose first priority is making sure the customers are happy. Little Purity is my regular neighborhood go to spot for weekend breakfast and weekday lunch. Four years since my initial review and Little Purity is still the best diner in Brooklyn! Also, Rene is the best and friendliest person you’ll ever meet!
Stumbled upon this little gem while I was in the area, and I’m so happy I did! First of all, the service is amazing, the staff have such good energy and will make your day. Second, the food was delicious and came out super fast. Everything we ate was 10/10! Thank you Nick and the rest of the staff for making our NY trip even better.
The first time I left this place, I thought to myself: Wow, this is lovely. The food is fantastic. But after returning again and again, I’ve realized it’s something far beyond that. Each visit feels almost supernatural, like stepping into a little pocket of goodness where the heaviness of the world lifts off your shoulders. Every time I walk through the door, I feel profoundly lucky that a place like this exists in Park Slope. It’s rare to find an establishment where everything feels so pure, where you feel less existential about the state of things, and where genuine kindness is the air everyone breathes. Everyone here radiates warmth, and Nick and his sister embody such graciousness and joy that it spills over onto every guest. This isn’t just a diner. It’s a place that restores your faith in community, where you remember that happiness can be simple, and that shared humanity can feel effortless. Nick (and lovely sister) you guys make the world a better place. Thank you for existing and share your light with the world.
This place is our 2nd home. Best huevos rancheros I’ve ever had in the Tri-state area.
Top 3 diners in NYC. Great food, amazing staff, beautiful community. No better way to start a day than breakfast at this spot.
10/10 diner experience. The food is fresh and delicious, the atmosphere is top tier, and the service is literally everything I want in a diner. The owner Nick was so great, it seemed like he knew everyone who was there, but I quickly learned although there are clearly many regulars, Nick makes an effort to make sure everyone feels at home. Could not recommend more, if there’s a wait, it’s worth it.
literally the best place in the world. excellent coffee and you get your own little pitcher of milk or cream just like god intended. everything is so good portions are dope the only danger is eating too much (still worth it). staff are on it and so sweet they make you feel right at home. i am never more comfortable than when im at little purity for breakfast. i hope when i die i'll go to heaven and heaven will be little purity in the morning and i'll sit in my booth forever. they make their own hot sauce and jam. what diner makes their own hot sauce and jam???? dont even ask me whether it's good you know the answer
It doesn’t get better than Little Purity. The food is exactly what you want it to be: delicious, abundant, and quick! However it’s the staff and the atmosphere that make this place so incredible. Every single person on staff treats the patrons with so much kindness and warmth, and as a diner you can’t help but reciprocate the feelings. Truly impossible not to smile and feel great when you’re at Little Purity (and believe me, given how hungover I’ve been some mornings walking in here, that is saying something! 😂)
popped in here to have brunch, 10/10 experience! nick and the staff were so attentive and personable. the food was delicious, highly recommend the french toast (apparently thats what they are known for) and the bacon egg and cheese was also a highlight. the mimosas are made w pineapple juice instead of OJ which i loved. im not from here but have seen this place online before so im glad i was randomly in the area and decided to walk in, they really made my day! looking forward to coming back my next trip :)
The food is great! And the staff and owners even better! We've been coming here for years and the staff are always happy to see us (and we are happy to see them). We always catch up, and it makes us feel so special. We moved to NJ but still make the trip to have the best French Toast anywhere!
I absolutely love everything about little purity! My favorite diner ever!
Our family has been going to Little Purity since my son was 2 (He’s 12 now). We love it here! Everyone js always friendly - they know everyone - and the food is homemade and fresh, classic diner experience but better.
Wonderful breakfast! Great staff. Made us feel right at home!
I appreciate talent and I believe you can find talent in anything. The art of "bread-tending" is observed to the highest level here. It may just be a piece of toast you use to dip in your egg yolk or eat with a little dollop of the best jam east of the Hudson river. BUT, that toast is more than that. There is a set of well trained hands that prepare that toast for you. Someone that has prepared toast thousands of times and everything from the sound of her slicing the toast is perfect. The execution is impeccable and if I can get this excited about their toast, just imagine how well everything else will taste. The talent at this place is appreciated and recognized, keep it up guys! Great work!
great service and solid corn beef hash and eggs. probably one of my fave diner’s in the neighborhood
I absolutely loved the place. The ambiance was great and the service was exceptional. It’s nice to eat and then walk into the park after that sumptuous meal. Thank you so much 😊
Absolutely delicious! It is a little small inside, but that’s hardly noticeable at all once you sit down. The manager and workers were all very attentive (there were many times we were talking amongst ourselves and didn’t even notice our water glass was full again) and everyone was incredibly friendly and kind. It was our first time there but you could tell there were people from the area who go regularly and it was very inviting. The food was absolutely delicious (I got the waffle with 2 over easy eggs) and it was very filling as well.
Very solid diner. Friendly service, good food, decent prices. Waited 25 min in a Sunday for brunch 3 people. Would come back!
Love this place and everything about it. From Miami but have been here twice. Plan to go everytime I visit BK. The food is so good, but the service is the best part.
Little purity? More like huge temptation 😏 (great joke, right??) but for real. Little purity can tempt you with it all. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. Diet Coke, regular coke, orange juice. Little purity is a great joint at fair prices. Spot is cozy and service is good. GREAT for a casual night
My wife and I visit every week. While the food is great, the people make this place special. We're always greated with a warm smile and leave feeling happy. A Park Slope gem.
Good food. Great service. Good all day. The staff is amazing and the restaurant is very clean. The owners take care of the establishment and make it a great place for customers of all types. Anyone can come and eat like a king or Queen. The drinks are made very well. Food is made to your liking. The food is very delicious and fresh. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. I would highly recommend this place. The food and workers keep me coming back for more.
Best diner I've been to in all of NYC! The servers treat you like family even if you only go once and the food is unbelievably good and fresh. The patty melt, reuben, and challah french toast are so amazing that I could eat them all every day.
This is everything a diner should be in Brooklyn. I am always happy to eat here. That said it could be even better. My wishes for this place: 1. Longer hours. They close at 6 and stop taking orders at 5. Come on. I would love if it were open til at least midnight and played music at night. There are diners in LA and Austin that have figured this out and are always busy. 2. Better soups. I know it sounds like an old man thing, but great diners should always have at least 4 great soups at all times. 3. A better burger. The burger isn't terrible, but the meat mix could be better, the seasoning could be better and the bun could be better. 4. Fry options. Some people like really thin bistro fries. Some like waffle fries. 5. Better taco options. These tacos are super gringo. We know what real tacos should taste like. You don't need to change the menu, just make the current selections better. These are minor gripes. The sandwiches are all mainline diner food. The pasta bolognese is very good. The salads are pretty good too. But the main reason to come is that it's a real place run by real people who care.
The community created by this restaurant is unparalleled. Everyone here takes pride in their food, knows their regulars, and is warm and caring. The food is perfect, including homemade jams and hot sauces. Park Slope home base 4ever xo
We love Little Purity! Delicious, authentic diner vibes with an extensive menu for any craving you might have. We love starting our weekend here and guests we’ve brought also were very complementary. A neighborhood gem!
Yeah, this is one of my favorite places to go. My partner and I have breakfast here maybe twice a month. Everything that all the positive reviews say are true. Food is excellent, and the vibes are very good and friendly. A perfect neighborhood diner.
One of my favorite diners of all time. I’ve been coming here for over 20 years and the food remains fresh & delicious and the service is top notch!
Came in on a Tuesday morning and was treated to a delicious breakfast. The eggs benedict were fantastic and the challah french toast was outstanding. What really made Little Purity stand out was the stupendous family staff - warm, friendly, kind, and funny too! Had very enjoyable conversation with our servers, and you can tell that they put care into all of their interactions. My partner left her hat inside, and he ran out after us to return it! During that time someone on the street called out to him and our server knew him by name - this further goes to show that these people truly care about their customers and their neighborhood. Loved supporting these folks, highly recommend!
UPDATE: I have been coming here for a good 12 years. I had never ordered the LP wings. Now I have… a few times… and can report they are SOLID! Darn good Buffalo style, they happily give me extra bump of bleu cheese dressing for dipping. ✨ I RECOMMEND! 💥 ————————————————————————————- Love this place… Still love this place, now more! Loved that burger I had week of 3-11-24! UPDATE! New addition to the menu is real good! Chicken sandwich, I got the regular not spicy version, was EXCELLENT! Ordered and eaten happily on March 28, 2024! — Oct 4, 2025: Had wonderful chicken soup w rice, and a to go chili was fantastic later. Chili is solid, spicing is just right, w cheddar, sour creme and jalapeno slices. — Should just start a dang blog. Added pic of lil quesadilla, mozz cheese w chicken, corn tortilla (off menu special). Deelish, no salsa or sour cream needed!
No because I literally haven’t stopped talking about this place since I ate there 5 hours ago and I’m already daydreaming about the next time I come back. This place has easily become one of my mandatory go-to’s when I come to NY. The food was incredible, the staff was amazing and I genuinely felt so comfortable and truly enjoyed my experience. It was nothing short of a 10/10, shoutout to Nick and Cecilia! AND TRY THE CHICKEN SAUSAGE!!
This place is a classic! Oy halls that old school vibe! It can get pretty busy. However, we got a table on a Sunday in less than 15min. Worth the wait! Food was delicious and service was excellent! One remark I had was the generous amount of bacon, you will never go wrong with more bacon! Absolutely recommended!
No wait for a Sunday morning dine in which was a welcome reprise after an unpleasant experience waiting for a diner down the road a few weeks back. The coffee and food came out on fiesta-ware, instantly I was brought back to earlier days of my childhood when our cabinets were full of the dinnerware. Warm and cozy atmosphere while not being too crowded whatsoever. The staff had a real family dynamic. Food came out quick and delicious, the coffee was attentively filled as I drained. The homemade jam and hot sauces added to the sense that the proprietors have a great eye for the details. The missus ordered the “lox-ness monster” and thoroughly enjoyed the smokiness and tenderness of the smoked salmon. Please see attached media for reference on the cinematic egg pop. My two eggs were cooked to perfection although my bacon was a bit crispy and I’m more of a chewy bacon man. To each their own, take it or leave it.
An incredible breakfast! Hot coffee, real maple syrup, delicious sausage and eggs and toast done to perfection. The wait staff were friendly and attentive and the other patrons were all enjoying their food as well, nice level of buzz and chatter but not too loud. Perfect place to start your day. Beautiful photos from a local artist above the counter. Love the seasonal decor for Halloween.
The greatest diner in Park Slope Brooklyn and the best in the Big Apple! Warm friendly and cozy, the staff are like family. They accommodate as best as they can with a wide variety of food for meat eaters, vegetarians, and vegans. It’s great for the family, meeting with friends or co-workers, and just to hang out to eat world class food. You’ve got to try the Lox Monster for breakfast and the tuna club for lunch is perfect! I’ve been enjoying Little Purity’s for almost 7 years and I keep coming back! Little Purity is the place to be!
Omg truly a must do, a very nice , quaint, restaurant in Brooklyn with sooo much flair and flavor. We did breakfast, an omelet with grits and rye toast , my wife had eggs with sausage and potatoes with multi grain toast, both of us had the homemade house hot sauce. Half way thru our meal Nick brought out this behemoth piece of French toast with this amazing maple syrup, JUST WOW The service and atmosphere is very welcoming. All was amazing but if you can only do 1 thing for breakfast definitely do the French toast and sausage. There is a lot of variety of food choices on the menu so come hungry. Again WOW. Thanks Nick for an amazing breakfast dining experience
Nick is great!!! The food was delicious and the service is great. If you are looking for a place to eat that has a family vibe, great service and delicious food. 1st time going there and it was a great time. Definitely have the waffle topped with whipped cream and cinnamon and the freshly made strawberry preserves. Make sure Nick pours it on.
Great food and good service. The staff is amazing and the restaurant is popular. The owners take care of the establishment and make it a great place for customers of all types. The drinks are made very well. The food is very delicious and fresh. There is plenty of seating inside and outside. ..
The first time I came to Little Purity for breakfast was several years back during pre-covid times. My latest visit was today, which was long overdue. It is a cute little diner with fast and friendly service. I see several reviews complaining about the amount of food you get for the cost you pay. In my personal opinion I believe that is way off. The prices are pretty standard and I felt I got enough food for my monies worth. The establishment is very clean, the food is good and they really make a great cup of coffee. Everything is served in mismatched dishes and cups, which I find adorable. I definitely recommend and I will be sure to stop in again in the future.
Food is the surprising star at this long-time Slope legend. Our family of 4 walked out full and happy after a late Sunday brunch. Tasty pancakes for the kids, crispy and toast BLT for dad and an ommlette for mom that wasn't the one she ordered but actually better. Overall 7/10...Good stuff foodwise. Service was fine, restaurant is a bit worn down but maybe that's its charm.
Simply put...I'd never willingly return. Came here for brunch with a group on a Sunday at approx 1130am. Understandably I fully expected the almost 1hr wait time. Its everything else inside that makes me not want to return. Our table required 2 extra seats to accommodate the group and 1 of us was in the way of foot traffic through the restaurant. We ordered the putcher of mimosa, and that was the first disappointment. Now I've had mimosas from a multitude of venues with different flavors. This was by far the worst, I'd be willing to say 95% orange juice at least. The food was nothing special, tasted very mediocre. Overall, if you like a cramped location and average drinks/food then this is your place.
This is a cute venue with a laid back authentic diner vibe. Unfortunately the food was so bland that one of our party couldn't eat it. When we came to pay, I bought it to the waitress's attention. She refused to acknowledge our complaint as legitimate and refused to take that breakfast off the bill. Come on guys. If a patron of yours cannot eat your food because it doesn't taste good, how can you charge them $20 for it? Hopefully this review will help the restaurant reconsider their service policy. What started as a lovely experience ended with a bitter taste in all of our mouths. We won't be going back.
Food was ok. Wings were good, fries were not. At all. Service was abysmal. Place was empty when we were there and basically ignored. I’m not a difficult customer and I don’t leave negative reviews very often but I’m just pissed off after eating here and not in the mood to leave a detailed review. If you’re on 7th Ave and hungry, especially if you have your kid in tow, go somewhere else. There’s a dozen better options within a few blocks.
Absolutely gross customer service from the dude answering phones Saturday 11-12p on 03/01. Called ahead to ask if he had a table for two - “what do you think?” I don’t know it’s why I’m literally asking.
Unfortunately, ownership and staff did not understand an expressed dislike that was 100% misunderstood. Others with no context compounded this, leading to a poorly informed decision. That is 100% on the ownership, yet it demonstrates a lack of critical thinking and emotional intelligence. I won't dignify or repeat the shared ignorant words I was accused of using, as I know I did not. The person lacked genuine comprehension of a clearly expressed disdain for the other customer's behaviors. Everyone should know that this environment is managed, staffed, and frequented by people lacking a comprehensive and dynamic mindset. PS—Nick, your arbitrary decision is 100% in you, yet your limitations, lack of education, critical thinking, and emotional intelligence became most apparent.
If only 0 stars were possible. The manager at this place is nothing if not consistent…consistently rude and unprofessional. Give credence to the other reviews here that say he treated them horribly. Perhaps you will be spared, perhaps not. All in all, he makes this diner the least family friendly place I’ve been in New York. You would think in Park Slope he’d know his audience. If you are looking for a convient place to get a quick bite for your kids, steer clear unless you want it to end by a screaming tiny tyrant wielding what little power he has over others.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I was genuinely shocked by how disappointing this place was compared to the reviews. Maybe we just caught it on a bad day, but I can't help thinking that the transplant crowd in this area may not have experienced a quality diner before. The food we were served was cold and bland, and it was honestly one of the worst diner experiences I've had. I won't be coming back.
If you show up with kids, the owner starts listing a bunch of rules with a bizarrely stern attitude, even if your kids are quite docile. He also gets angry if you speak a language other than English. Tried fit our party of 7 into a small booth for four because "they don't move tables" even when several tables are available. The owner will repeatedly bring orders wrong.
On a very cold recent day I tried going to little purity with just me and my toddler. It was the double doors and as I tried to open the 2nd one, a server/host pulled the door out of my hand and shut it. They were trying to keep the cold out. While I understand the goal, once the door is already in someones hand pulling it away from them crosses a personal boundary. I was then told rather agressively that the door has to remain closed to keep out the cold. It was a particularly challenging moment to be managing my toddler solo in the cold only to be met with an agressive gesture. I said "fine, I don't have to eat here" and left. They gave a sarcastic "have a nice day" as I left. I was a regular customer but this interaction was dissappointing so I won't be returning.
Absolutely unacceptable experience, discriminatory, illegal, and rude. My pregnant wife and I visited Little Purity in Brooklyn with our fully trained and federally recognized service dog. Upon arrival, the manager refused us entry, claiming that dogs are not allowed, even after we explained that our dog is a service animal protected under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). We are both attorneys and are well-versed in the law. The manager began incorrectly citing legal code and rudely dismissed our explanation. His tone was aggressive and demeaning, and as we were walking away, he sarcastically yelled “Have a good day!” a final insult after denying us access in violation of federal civil rights law. Let’s be clear, this was not just rude customer service, this was illegal discrimination. Under the ADA, service animals are allowed in all public accommodations, including restaurants, without exception. To make matters worse, the manager showed zero empathy or professionalism, not even the decency to engage in a civil conversation. The experience was humiliating, dehumanizing, and frankly outrageous. If you care about inclusion, basic decency, and the law, I recommend you take your business elsewhere. Little Purity has shown itself to be not only uninformed, but also hostile and unwelcoming.
The food was bland and mediocre. I don’t understand why this place gets good reviews. Bad food and expensive. One of the owners is also rude. When I went to check out, he remarked on how I’d had a lot of food for one person like I’m a big eater. No, I wanted to try a bunch of things and they were all terrible. Only redeeming thing is the service but not coming back ever again.
