This place is really good!! Super fresh food very tasty literally about to order from Them now but figured I would stop and review. Hands down best food in the park slope area.

Just great! The place was comfortable and quiet even though it was busy. The service was very nice and I didn't feel rushed, even though I came alone I got a nice table, which is often not the case in NYC. The food was good and the atmosphere very pleasant.

The sliced fish in black bean sauce is worth the splurge, the scallion pancakes are super chewy n doughy which I love but honestly you could get better, cheaper chinese food in the hood. Trust me on that one.

Great to dine in our take out. It's not your typical Chinese food. It's definitely top notch.

I really wasn't expecting much but I got a big surprise. Their drunken noodles were delicious! Tender and savory with big slices of roast pork... really good!

One of the best Chinese food places in the city.. fully in my top five. My girlfriend and I went and had the wontons and and dumplings. Amazing. We also ordered the roast pork and general tso chicken. There general tso is definitely up to par and I would say a must have. The seating is also good because it's not crammed and is very spacious. The people are also very pleasant. I give them a five easy

I haven't been to this restaurant in 2 years and was so happy it hadn't changed. It was as tasty, and delicious as l,remembered it. I used to go once a week, when my child went to school in the area. I highly recommend thisvplace to anyone who enjoys a good meal at a .reasonable price.

The vegetable wonton with spicy sauce was really good! I would go back to get that dish again. I was also able to pay for my food using the new Cinch app, which is very useful if you like special offers and rewards towards your purchases

Made a 77 dollar Grubhub order from Mr Wonton. I was a bit hesitant with the price. But still when for it. The food came, and was blown away on how great the food was prepared and taste. Found me a new spot.

Delicious food Excellent service Very friendly staff who were curious about Canada :D No chopsticks for a Chinese restaurant? Chill and relaxing atmosphere with music playing

Mr Wonton exceeded my expectations on my first delivery order. I wanted to get something healthy so ordered various greens - chinese broccoli, mustard greens, bok choy w mushrooms - and requested “no starch-sugar-msg” in the special requests box and... they actually followed the request!! The dishes were all delicious. They were also delivered ridiculously fast and the guy who dropped them off was polite!! I am also so happy to see that they have “many” options for chinese greens - not just one. I will go there to try them for dim sum, but when I order, I really like to order various kinds of chinese greens and most places don’t do this and/or they pile on starchy or sweet sauces. Six stars for Mr Wonton! (The prawns were excellent, too.)

A great simple neighboodhood Chinese place BUT the seating is horrible. A dingy ugly room that they make no effort to fix bc it is mostly a takeout biz. They are on a beautiful corner but put no tables outside — crazy! — i would come three times a week if I could sit outside here

The food is great and a lot better than your average Chinese restaurant. Mr. Wonton is my go-to when I need take out. The employees are always so nice and accommodating to my needs. I highly recommend this place.

What a amazing experience by farrrrrr!!! This place is like be transported to another land. the music, the atmosphere, the people and the food are something not of nyc and I LOVE IT. I would say this place has maybe the best Chinese food in park slope, like how do you manage to lightly fry chicken but drench it in honey glaze and not lose the light crunch even after letting it sit for 45mins. The service was ON POINT. Kinda as if they were on competition with there co-workers on who can help the fastest, I’m calling speed though like I finished me water and it was refilled in less then a min. Love it so much deff my new fav spot!!!!

Had some of the best wonton soup (unsurprisingly) from Mr Wonton’s!!! The Thai basil chicken was lovely too and the staff were all quite quiet but nice, creating a truly peaceful environment!

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants. I don’t live very far from them and they deliver quickly. They have the best roasted duck that’s properly seasoned in Brooklyn. Garlic chicken and shrimp is also a hit. The Egg Foo Young is excellent too. Give them a try, I’ll always order from them. The food is delicious.

From my 9 year old , he says “very good steamed dumplings , and chicken lo mein.” My 7th year old says “the Lemonade is excellent, and he likes that they have a health rating of A”

This place may be small but the food is top tier 👌🏾 absolutely delicious! I had their beef fried rice , General tso shrimp , Scallion Pancakes, shrimp dumplings ,chicken wings and Jasmine tea. You don't need any condiments with their food it's packed with flavor 10/10 Best Chinese food in NYC!!

Whether I order from their website or over the phone, the food comes hot, within 10-15 minutes and always correct (never stolen, items not missing, nothing spoiled or spilled etc. ). I have ordered from them more than a dozen times and consistency is in their DNA. Food is fresh - I highly recommend the Thai Basil with chicken and white rice, egg rolls, wonton soup, Thai ice tea

I'm Chinese-American and this was the BEST beef and broccoli I've had in my life. Legit, hands down. Holy cow. Also got some very good chicken and eggplant in garlic sauce. But man that broccoli was amazing and the beef was slightly thicker cut but still velvety and tender. Mannnnnnnn I wish I had more

Solid Chinese Food. The chicken wings aren’t heavily breaded and are crispy which is surprisingly hard to find. The lo mein was good, but not my favorite. The general tso chicken was very good and not too spicy on top (which is good for me). The cheese wontons and egg foo young were good as well. The spare ribs (not pictured) were what you would expect. I would try them again.

I tried mr wonton today for lunch off the recommendation of a colleague , I ordered the sesame tofu a shrimp roll and a side of the fried fantail shrimp (fried hard) when I tell you the crunch the crisp the snap crackle and pop was soo good? Immediately a yes! this was literally some of the crispiest tofu and shrimps I have maybe ever had ! would definitely go back and try more!

Really good mid-level Chinese. We ate there, and you realize (like I often do) why it’s better to eat in than take out. Everything was hot and crispy. I loved the fried wontons (pictured) crispy but still some juicy noodle on the inside. Sesame chicken was good, but we loved the hot lovers chicken (pictured, not spicy really). Prices were reasonable too, good spot.

I did delivery, the food was great. I moved to Brooklyn a few years ago from another borough and haven’t been able to find a really good place in Williamsburg(not even a decent egg roll). I ordered general tso’s(white meat), with pork fried rice, wonton soup and an egg roll. I loved that they gave the option to sub for white meat on DoorDash! Everything was very good. I would say the egg roll could have used more filling. Given the distance and wait time, I waited just over a hour for my order, but it still arrived warm. Looking forward to my next order. My only suggestion would be to add a sub for lo mein instead of the rice options. Mr. Wonton you have a new regular customer. .

I recently ordered delivery from this fantastic restaurant, and I have to say, it was an absolute delight! The highlight was their soup – hands down one of the best, with rich, flavorful broth, tender and a generous amount of veggies, and perfectly seasoned proteins that just melted in my mouth. It was so comforting and authentic, like a warm hug on this chilly evening. What really impressed me was how they nailed my special instructions on the delivery app and substituted it with a surprise protein at no charge . I asked for no shrimp due to an allergy and extra spice on the side, and everything arrived exactly as requested – no mistakes, no fuss. Again , the portions were generous, the food piping hot, and the packaging kept everything fresh and leak-proof. I can't wait to dine in next time to experience the full ambiance and maybe try some of their other specialties. If you're craving top-notch Asian cuisine, this place is a must-try! Five stars all the way.

My coworker and I ordered lunch specials from here for the first time, and let me tell you.... I HAVE NEVER TASTED CHINESE FOOD LIKE THIS IN YEARS!!!!! As soon as you walk down 7th ave you can smell the goodness from a mile away. When you walk in the atmosphere is so cute homey and welcoming. Service is great and quick for a very busy resturant!!! We both got the chicken and broccoli lunch specials (add mushrooms) with plain fried rice and a wonton soup. I dont even know where to start honestly. The wontons are so fresh in the soup they just melt in your mouth and the broth is so clean and soothing. The chicken is so fresh and the sauce and the way they seasoned everything is out of this world. The rice is not the "typical yellow fried rice", its fried brown in sauce and IS SOOOO GOODDD just like the old days. Wow 10/10 best $14 dollars we've ever spent. Will def be ordering from here too many times! :)

B
Bella Lewis

Staff was super friendly and attentive. Most of the food was pretty good. Wontons in wonton soup were decent, but the broth had no flavor. The dumpling dipping sauce was too close to soy sauce and needed more vinegar in my opinion. Sesame chicken was nice and crunchy on the outside, yet moist in the inside (yum!), with the perfect amount of sauce. Broccoli also had a great texture/flavor. My toddler devoured it.

A
A Z

This place is a solid Chinese food restaurant. The food is definitely flavorful, and their fried wontons and dumplings are very tasty (they better be, based in their name!). Plus, they don't cut corners as much as some of the other local Chinese restaurants (e.g. there isn't an overload of fried breading on their sesame chicken). We've had success dining in and taking out, though (as expected) you're better bet is dine in. Note: everyone who works here is generally very friendly as well, making the whole experience more enjoyable.

Very nice staff, always ready to answer questions and provide above and beyond service. They might be a little hard to flag down though, whether you are waiting to be sitted or have a question to ask. Good food, great lunch specials menu. Definitely a place to save as a reoccurring lunch spot.

I regularly order takeout from Mr. Wonton and the food never disappoints. My go-to order is the General Tso's Chicken Combo Platter. Highly recommend giving it a try.

I passed by this restaurant several times, and finally decided to stop in. I stopped in for lunch. I had the sauteed chicken and shrimp on the lunch special with brown rice. I also ordered a hot and sour soup. The noodles were crispy and fat. I ate too many of them with duck sauce. The restaurant was not crowded but they were doing a big take out business. The food was good. Typical Chinese. The service was excellent. the waiter was very nice. The price was cheap; around $6.50 plus tax, including hot tea. I would go back.

S
Shruti S

We ordered the chicken dumplings, chicken noodle soup and a chicken main course. The food was fresh, tasty and hot, something that was definitely comforting after the long walk in the cold outside. The dumplings were juicy and tasty and the noodle soup though watery had a distinct taste to it with some scallion to add flavour to it. The service was super fast and the staff was very courteous.

Solid choice for Chinese "comfort " food in Park Slope. Consistently fast and efficient service, I eat here almost weekly and have no complaints. Delicious, crispy general tso's chicken, the way it's supposed to be. I've had the pork and vegetable dumplings, steamed and fried, they are among the best I've had. They don't serve any alcohol, not sure if you can bring your own however. You really can't go wrong with Mr. Wonton.

Best Chinese food in the north slope - Egg rolls are solid. Broccoli with garlic sauce is always good.

G

Today was my first time here, and I am glad that I stopped by. Some of the reviews stated that their wontons were good, and I agree! Since moving to Brooklyn last year, I could not find a good Wonton Soup, until now. I also ordered the Vegetable Dumplings/Wontons in Hot Sesame Sauce, and it was delicious. This was recommended by a previous reviewer, and for that, I am very thankful. Lastly, I ordered their Steamed Shrimp Shumai. This caught me by surprise as I love the small, bite size ones you find in Japanese places. They are bigger here and seasoned differently. They were good, but I do not expect to get them again. Perhaps the chicken version will meet my preferences. The service was good and the staff was very friendly with everyone that walked in. The bathroom was also clean and well stocked with soap and paper towels. I will gladly come back and sample more dishes.

D
Dexter Hailey

I have always enjoyed this restaurant. The food was tastey, but some of the old staff was gone since the last time I visited. The level of service while fine was not the same! Certain little details like serving complimentary crunchy noodles with duck sauce were missing.

Saw a review on TikTok and decided to check this place out since I’ve been on the hunt for a good, spicy General Tso’s chicken. First off, this is hands down the cleanest Chinese spot I’ve been to—no dirty oil taste or smell, which is a big plus. Ordering was quick and polite, and I went with the lunch special for $12—not a bad deal. I asked for extra spicy, but it still leaned more toward sesame chicken in flavor. That said, compared to other Chinese spots I’ve tried in NYC, this one is definitely top-tier. It was a 20-minute drive, but I think it was worth it. Next time, I’ll try the lo mein before making my final judgment. But if you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth checking out!

Mr. Wonton is our Favorite Chinese Restaurant to visit. The food is always hot and fresh, and the service is pretty good! I had the Sesame Chicken with Pork Fried Rice. Needless to say, it was the best Sesame Chicken I've ever eaten. It had crunch, but still good and saucy. The fried rice is quite possibly the best I've ever eaten. I also always have a bowl of Wonton Soup. Mr. Wonton hand makes all their wontons (I have watched them); sometimes as many as 2,000 for a day! WOW! Great quality; I highly recommend visiting Mr. Wonton!

Quick service and large portions! Came for lunch and got the lunch special which is an entree with rice plus soup. Ordered fried wontons because it’s in their name 😂 The AC wasn’t on inside for the majority of our meal and we could feel the sweat dripping down our backs as we ate. Not so fun eating inside on a hot day and still sweating. Regardless, food was your classic American Chinese fare. Yummy and filled the craving we were looking for.

Ordered Take Away Steamed Pork Dumplings and Chicken Noodle Soup with Mei Fun Noodles. The packaging of the noodles and veggies separate from the broth was good packaging. The broth needed more flavor for my pallet. Others may like the mild flavor. The steamed pork dumplings were very good. Very tasty. I will order the steam dumplings again.

M
Matt Blanchard

The portion sizes were good. The sesame chicken had decent flavor but the fried rice and lo mein were pretty bland.

m

They wrote on their menu that wonton soup is their best seller but it tastes so ordinary.. far different from other Chinese wontons I tried.. food not so great but I wonder why do they get a high rating.. quite deceiving..

V
Vladimir Joseph

The place looks clean, pretty small. Then again space is very expensive in park slope. The food was kind of sub par I had ordered think a mango flavored chicken. The disappointment was that it was big pieces of mango, I would think the meat or the food would have been infused/marinated with the mango, but it was just mango pieces. It was a bit disappointing for the price. The food that the friend I was with tasted a lil above average again doesn't justify the price.

Has been my go-to Chinese restaurant for years but recently I've found that the quality of dishes I've enjoyed has dipped noticeably. New chef? General Tso's Shrimp, for instance, once very tasty and spot on, chewy and inferior the last two times I've tried it. They've gussied up the menu, adding Thai, but the Chinese staples I used to so like have markedly deteriorated. Hope they make the necessary changes in the kitchen to bring the quality if their offerings back up.

G
Geraldine McCleave

Been going for years and it is now quite lousy and on a downhill spiral. Could hardly eat our dinners last nite. My plate was over 60% uncooked carrots. Never again

W
Wayne Bennett

The hot and sour soup is stocked. The broccoli and tofu are delicious, as is the chicken/beef with ginger and scallions. Select noodle dishes such as spicey chow fun misses. BBQ spare ribs could be better, but they will do. Sit down service is efficient and good. The atmosphere is bland. I am, however, downgrading my review to 3 stars because the city inspectors have given the place a B rating. We all know what that means.

I have been getting delivery from Mr.Wonton for about two years now and I noticed something. If you do not pay attention the delivery person will snatch your money and run. Especially if the weather is bad outside and he knows that you have no shoes on. He snatched five extra dollars from my son and now he just snatched 20 extra dollars from my daughter with me standing right behind her. When we called the shop the first time they claimed that they will credit my account. This time they said that he deserved a 23 dollar tip for a 39 dollar food delivery. Although the food is better than the restaurants around my house it is not the best Chinese take out I've tasted. That 20 dollar snatch just lost them a customer.

J
Joseph Hernandez

I didn't like the taste of the food. Also, my chicken on a stick was overcooked and dry. This place is a one-time visit for me.

B
Brenda Glasse

They serve you from to-go containers as you sit at the dining table. The food was just okay. The woman who brought our food was very aggressive about taking my temperature from my forehead, even though I offered my wrist. She wouldn't hear of it and kept trying to find a way to point the thermometer at my forehead. I will never go back.

A

Food was great and quick but however, my guests were upset after they weren’t prepared for our reservation. I called 2 days ahead and made a reservation but when we arrived, the staff was surprised after they saw the reservation and started assembling tables only when we got there. When I asked another employee why they weren’t ready even though there was a reservation, the employee said: “Did you even make one?” Even though another employee has the reservation written on the wall.

I just ordered my food 3 Chicken wings with shrimp fried rice and an egg roll My rice was completely drenched in Oil And so was my chicken. Had to transfer the rice into a container after draining off some of that oil My eggroll HOWEVER was nice and crunchy and surprisingly not oily 🥴🤦🏽‍♀️🤔 Ugghh It’s annoying because as a health care worker I don’t have the time to just simply eat my food when I want I’m literally working around an elderly persons schedule. So imagine just wanting a decent meal from time to time regardless of it being take out. ✨I do admire the fact that they give out 🥠 fortune cookies along with your meal….. Brought back Memories ✨

On a positive note, the staff were very friendly and welcoming when I walked in to place a to-go order, and the food was ready quickly. I ordered the General Tso’s chicken with an eggroll combo. The eggroll was actually pretty decent, but unfortunately, the chicken was a letdown—overly breaded, lacking flavor, and made up of unappealing chicken bits that I couldn’t finish. There were a few pieces of broccoli hidden under the rice, but nothing could save the dish overall. The place was clean, and service was solid, but based on the food quality, I wouldn’t return.

This was my first time being in contact with this restaurant. I called and said "Hi there, how much would it be for shrimp with mixed vegetables and fried rice?" He tells me "nine fifty" ($9.50) I say, "okay, and if I was to swap the shrimp for chicken instead, how much would it be then?" He replies "same price, nine fifty" so I said "okay thank you very much." I give my friend money to grab it for us. He gets there and they tell him "nine fifty where?! Go somewhere else!" He calls me and tells me this. I asked him "what? Let me speak to them" my friend goes "no, I'm not letting her touch my phone after being nasty with me. We going to order somewhere else." I call a few mins after and I ask "why did you tell me it was $9.50 for the shrimp mixed vegetables and fried rice and tell my friend that it's not and to go somewhere else?" She argues with me. She talks over me without letting me speak and I say "okay, I'll write a review for you. Bye" I'm clueless on why she was being a disgusting human being? But the other guy was nice over the phone. Whatever, everything happens for my own benefit. I probably would've ate something awful and wasted my money. So thank you, beautiful universe! :)

BEWARE!!! To celebrate the Lunar New Year with my husband and 2 kids, I decided to place an order on their website directly instead of seamless so they didn’t have to pay third party fees. HUGE MISTAKE. Placed the order online at 7:33pm, was given an estimated time of 50 mins for delivery, which I thought was reasonable because of the holiday. However, after still waiting for our order at 8:45pm, I emailed AND started calling the restaurant to see where my order was. The line was busy but I finally got through at 9pm. The lady who picked up asked, “Are you calling to see where your order is?” When I answered yes, she then proceeded to say, “All the seamless orders have been sent out, but the other orders were cancelled.” WHAT?! I understand if they got overwhelmed with holiday orders, but it was an intentional decision on their end to prioritize only the seamless orders and then to essentially ignore/disregard the others. NO PHONE CALL, NO EMAIL, NOTHING to communicate that they couldn’t handle the order 1.5 HOURS AFTER I placed my order. Needless to say, they totally ruined our evening. NEVER EVER ordering from them again and telling everyone we know to STAY AWAY. I don’t care how good their food is, this is totally unprofessional, irresponsible and not the way to run a business.

I unfortunately - while eating my food say a cockroach walk across the table. They pretended NOT to see and did nothing about it. This place is dirty. The dishes, the cup of water was cloudy and the bathroom was disgusting. Order at your own risk.

I’ve been ordering for years from this place. They always have major attitudes and expect a 30% plus tip for everything. I placed an order this evening and they just canceled my order without a call. When I called in for an explanation they told me the manager cancelled my order because I did a charge back previously. I’ve never done a charge back. How dare these people!!! I will never order from here again. Such a disgusting experience. I also tip really well and don’t want to order from a place that expects me to tip 50%.

Delivery. Very disappointing. Everything was bland, flavorless and uninteresting. Will not order again.

My best friend and I used to eat here all the time before the pandemic; the food was so good, and the staff was warm and friendly. Today we tried it for the first time since 2019, and I think they're under new management because the service sucked. The guy who served us was hasty and had a nasty attitude toward us. What was a good experience quickly turned sour when other people who came in after us were getting served, and we weren't. When I asked for my rice, the server raised his voice at me. We asked for the bill to be split, and I was also spoken down to! The food portions changed, and the staff isn't nice. Sadly, we loved it until today and won't be returning. I could have lived my whole life without that experience!

Nasty service. The man is a jerk. I ordered takeout and sat down to wait. My food came and I was starving so I decided to take a few bites before leaving. The man working there came by my table without saying a word, snatched both sets of silverware from in front of me and put them on the next table. All to make sure I didn’t use them. I felt like I was treated like a dog. I got up and left immediately and then was so disgusted I threw my plate in the garbage. If he treated me like that, who knows how he treats the food.

After waiting 90 minutes for Uber eats to deliver the order was cancelled. Don't know who or why but 90 minutes without even a phone call to then get nothing is unacceptable.

I have been ordering from this restaurant for years. I ordered some shrimp egg foo young, and it was so burnt and nasty I was in shock. I will NEVER order from them again. The quality has dropped, get a new chef or someone who gives half a damn!

I was disappointed with my food. I ordered a big order. One order was general souls chicken with pork fried rice. They sent me the wrong rice and put white rice instead. I called, and instead of replacing the whole meal, and let me be clear! They only OFFERED to send the rice, so my meat was cold and still had white rice stuck everywhere... So turned me off, not that it mattered because when I started eating the meat, it was spicy! Let's be clear here, too! It was spicy to the point where my lips burned. This has never happened with any restaurant I have eaten general souls chicken from. I looked around the meat and multiple red peppers in the meat. I did not ask for EXTRA spicy! Worst experience! And yes, I still think my order was WRONG! FYI- I had forgotten to add how they argued with me at the end about how they sent me all my sodas but they had forgotten one for one of my employees and gave me an issue with replacing it as well. Ridiculous! Some customer service training wouldn't hurt.

This place surely fooled me. I thought I would be getting better service from a fancy-schmancy takeout restaurant in an upscale neighborhood but, sadly, I was mistaken. First of all, the same brown sauce was used for everything. Not only was the fried rice drenched with brown sauce, it was so hard it broke off into three large chunks when I tried to scoop it out. I ended up throwing it away and made my own rice instead. The egg foo young came with a container of brown sauce instead of the gravy-like sauce I'm used to getting so I found some turkey gravy and used that instead. The chicken mei fun, which usually comes without sauce, was also drenched in brown sauce making it taste more like a chicken lo mein. The meat was hard and the food was too bland for my taste. I'm thinking that's why so much brown sauce is used? But the biggest surprise of all was a hole in the egg foo young container which I noticed after I was halfway through the meal. Now, I've eaten at some sketchy places in my lifetime but I've never gotten food in a container with a hole in it!  Really? Nobody noticed this before it left the kitchen? No thank you. I'll stick to my tried and true Chinese restaurant in my working class/lower middle class neighborhood where the food is cheaper and oh so good.

Probably my worst experience with Chinese food. Got the sweet and sour shrimp. It appears as if they fished out the world's tiniest shrimp, breaded it up to extreme, and decided to serve it to guest. Presentation looks great and all but food was 0/10. Not to mention the shrimp was not seasoned in any way.

I LOVED this place! The food was always incredible, but unfortunately, this past weekend, the food we ordered had a staple in it! My partner was chewing on his food when all of a sudden he felt something sharp pierce his tongue. The staple caught on to his tongue and he had to pry it out. I know things happen but this level of carelessness can be dangerous.
