Opinions de Sabor de Columbia Brooklyn
The best Colombian food I've had in New York, better than all the places I've tried in Queens and Manhattan. The bandeja paisa, the calentado and the sancocho de gallina are exceptional. The juices are also delicious and they even had tomate de arbol (first time I find it in New York). The staff was extremely friendly and they went above and beyond to serve our large group that was celebrating someone's birthday.
The food was everything!! I had the bandeja paisa and it was amazing. The chicken soup was also good and the atmosphere was cool. I will definitely recommend. The girls are very lovely.
I highly recommend this restaurant. Food was delicious and decent prices. I order the Pastor White Rice, Pink Beans, eggs, steak, sausage, Fried Pork and Maduro. I could not finish it all. I sure will go again.
Maria Fernanda was very attentive and provided great service. The food was delicious and some of the best Colombian food I have had in Sunset Park
Sabor de colombia exceeded all expectations with its outstanding food and impeccable service. Maria attended us and she was great A true culinary delight!" With authentic real Colombian food and crazy good pastries.
Staff is friendly and attentive. The food is fresh with lots of flavor. I had the refried beans, corn tortilla and scrambled eggs. As for the bakery part I’ve had buñuelos and they taste just out the oven. Definitely a comfortable atmosphere. I recommend this establishment.
Paola our waitress was amazing excellent customer services. The food was delicious
The cafe con leche is amazing here. The service is very courteous and they usually have Spanish Christian music playing or during this time of year Spanish Christmas music. I have not tried their meals (they are a bakery but offer lunch/dinner food) but they are busy so it is safe to say the food is good!

Just have to say everything was great from the food to the staff. It’s great to say the neighborhood finally has a great colombia restaurant. Keep up the great work guys! Jessy was definitely very welcoming he made me feel like at home.
I’m Colombian and i can say this is an authentic Colombian place, 10/10. The service is specially Colombian, Paola was amazing. Recommended.
The food was delicious and the waitresses were sooooo friendly! Will definitely come here again.
I had a fantastic experience at Sabor de Colombia! The attention was outstanding, especially from Rosemary. The pastries were simply delicious. They have buñuelos and natilla. The restaurant is beautiful with traditional decorations. Highly recommend!
As a Latino who has visited Colombia (Bogota) La comida is muy perfecta! Excellent steak, even more amazing friendly service and wonderful environment! From the cafe to the jugos!
Very kind ladies working there, was a pleasure being in that environment
I’ve lived in south prospect park my whole life and I have to say this is one of the BEST Colombian food spots nearby! I got a Bandeja Paisa and honestly 10/10. From the rice to the chicharon, everything was on point. Since I was already there I picked up pandebonos and pan de queso for the house and had a traditional hot chocolate. If you haven’t tried Colombian chocolate, this is the place to get it. 10/10! I don’t have pictures because I ate it too fast but I was convinced to try this place out with the picture of the bandeja paisa in one of the reviews.
Found this place on a walk at lunch. Little hole in wall but food looked and tasted delicious. Had the mangu and it was delicious. My suggestion is definitely ordering ahead because things are made to order and it's a wait. Lunch hour was wasted waiting but worth it.
The food was excellent , the service was friendly and fast. The atmosphere was great. Bandeja paisa was so delicious and If I could I would take all the pan de bono home 😁. Colombian hot chocolate was really good and real with spices and delicious flavor.
Food was delicious and the service was amazing. I went by myself and had the pleasure to have Maria Fernandez as my waitress. She was informative, professional and just a nice person overall with great customer service. I’ll be back!
Feels Very authentic & The service is really friendly, plus the food is delicious !! Totally Recommend. Paola is Amazing !!
The food was amazing. You could taste the freshness. The portion sizes are perfect. The pricing couldn't be any better No, i'm going to family spot amazing.I live in long island and I will definitely be driving back out here, just for this amazing spot if you live close this should be your go to spot !!
Excellent food, I loved the atmosphere of the place, everything is really very Colombian style, apart from the service was excellent, they were quite respectful and made me feel comfortable. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants!
Delicioso! Came with my parents while they were visiting NYC. Being from Colombia, they obviously wanted caldo de costilla for breakfast. This is the place if you need any pan se bono, buñelo, calentado, anything. The prices were incredible too and all the women working are so sweet.
The food is fresh and absolutely delicious! We no longer have to make the trip from Brooklyn to Queens to enjoy Colombian food. My husband and I really appreciated the quality of service too. We recommend this restaurant.
Very nice and clean place, delicious food, and fantastic music, I felt at home.
Food here is phenomenal and service as well. Our waitress name was Heidy. She greeted us with a smile on her face. Heidy was very patient explaining the dishes on the menu. Definitely coming back to try the rest of the menu
Food was delicious. Lots of sunlight and cheerful atmosphere. Sandra, the owner was as beautiful as she was helpful. Will be thinking about the passion fruit dessert all day.
Legit Colombian food. The food, the service, atmosphere, all of it. Feel as I'm back in Colombia. Some of the best Colombian bakery staples in NY. Waitresses and owner here are very nice. Highly recommend if you're craving Colombian food.
At first I was a bit skeptical about the place. Menu looked a bit light. But was very impressed of the food and the attendants were highly professional and friendly. Only downside is if your driving, you have a better chance coming here from the subway; cause parking here SUCKS! 😂
Amazing food, nice staff and owner lowkey twin
Everything was sooooooo gooood! Soooo delicious! And the people is really nice!!
Amazing food and amazing employees 10/10 restaurants
Really good Colombian food… Empanadas are the best… Their sandwiches are really great… Their breakfast dishes all of them are really good… Their coffee with milk the best… Really good prices… Attentive customer front service… Take out is really the best way to go here there is very little seating… Very loud hard place to stay if you just wanna have a contemplative moment with your food… Otherwise, this is a must for budget wise, sophisticated palate etc!!!!! Great place to come to
I found my SPOT. Been dying to find a place in Brooklyn that has food as good as in queens. The hostess told us what they were all about and especially for Brooklyn, the food wasn’t expensive at all and I was overstuffed with enough for leftovers. Why can’t the best places be closer to my house 😭
The best spot to come to in sunset. When I miss my family in colombia I come and visit here. Which is frequent. The staff is like being around your cousins and tias - the decor and music is top notch! When Paola is working it’s a treat cause it’s like seeing your fav family member. Thank you
Best Colombian food I have ever had. Came here more than 7 times already. The service is excellent, the atmosphere is beautiful! The food is absolutely delicious. Every seasoning that it has gives the food a magic touch. Will recommend 100%! Will always continue to come here!
The food tonight was absolutely fantastic. I had the bandeja paisa. Everything we ate was delicious, fresh, and as authentic as it can get! Relaxing home atmosphere and the service was perfect and very welcoming. Can't wait to come back again for more fresh pandebono!
This place has very authentic Colombian food the variety is great pastries are flavorful It’s the place my mom fell in love first so every time we wanna hang out or have some nice conversations we come here we get treated like family and the workers are very attentive some great memories My family is making here SABOR DE COLOMBIA take care of the people you love
My thoughts on this place align with what others have said. The charges at Sabor de Colombia Restaurant and Bakery are justified by its location. The service was particularly excellent. The food quality and service level were outstanding with no flaws. A totally impressive meal!
Loved it and totally recommend it! Authentic and fresh Colombian flavors. The service was amazing too: very gentle and helpful. Music at the right volume and with a good assortment of Colombian and Latin American sounds. Will be back for sure! The Casuela de Fríjoles is excellent! Also had fresh Pan de Bono’s, which were great. We loved the Pechora de Pollo too.
Today I was in the Brooklyn area and I decided to go through a bakery. I have always wanted to go to this bakery. I have to say that it was a good experience. I had good service, they were attentive. The food was great. I ordered the caldo de costilla, the flavor was phenomenal and I can also say that The meat and chicken empanadas were great, juicy and very hot. I have to give them 10/10 would go back again.
I went yesterday for the first time, and let me tell you it’s not going to be my last visit. I live in Long Island and since it is not a short trip to Brooklyn it was definitely worth it. I got the cazuela de frijoles and it was DELICIOUS!! it was so fresh and tasty I loved it! It made me feel like at home!! 🇨🇴🇨🇴 Then even though I was super full since it is a big plate I decided to try bunuelos and almojábana with coffee 🤤🤤🤤 OMG!! It was amazing! The service was great and everyone was very friendly. I’ll go every time I’ll be in Brooklyn ❣️
The food and natural juices here are really good. If you're looking for Colombian food (Pandeja Paisa, etc) and not too concerned with price, then this is the spot to go to. Otherwise, you might want to find a more price friendly place... you can easily spend $100 on two adults and one small child here.
Decent food. Table service is lacking.
I had to stop eating and write this review before I forget. I ordered the classic dish of Colombia, Bandeja Paisa and it’s so F! good. Unbelievable taste of Colombia. Thank you and I’ll definitely going to finish my plate now and come back for more soon since I’m from the neighborhood Update: came back here because the food was so good the first time. This time the food is still good but the service was not so good. The lady didn’t even understand me when I ask for hot sauce. Food is still good tho! Is it worth it to come back again ? 😎
I wish I could give them a better rating but they didn't even have sodas for my kids. We all know how hard it is for kids to try new foods and drinks and that was the case here, plus after taking the order I am told that there was a dish that I must order something else because they just ran out(which I understand) but it's a very common dish, just like the Coca-Cola's they didn't have. I was pleased with the 4-star food on my plate, but I was not impressed. The staff was nice, service was prompt thanks to the place not being packed, although with all of us, 14 people, the place seemed half full.
3.8% credit card processing fee! The Bandeja Paisa at Sabor de Colombia Restaurant and Bakery is a must-try for anyone who loves Colombian food. The dish is a hearty and delicious combination of rice, beans, meat, and other traditional Colombian ingredients. The flavors were authentic and reminded me of my time in Colombia. I would definitely give the food a 4 out of 5 stars. However, I was disappointed that I was charged for a cup of ice with my soda and a 3.8% credit card processing fee. I understand that these are common practices in some restaurants, but I felt that they were a bit excessive. As a result, I would give the restaurant a 3 out of 5 stars overall. Overall, I would recommend Sabor de Colombia Restaurant and Bakery to anyone who is looking for a delicious and authentic Colombian meal. Just be aware of the additional charges before you pay with credit card.
The check was off and when questioned, they acknowledged that they have charged me wrong, but did not offer a solution. Check your checks and ensure you are being charge correctly. Food quality was awful with food items cold. Never coming back to this place again, just glad I was just visiting the area! Very bad representation of our Colombian culture.
Ig you ever come here ASK FIRST THE PRICE!!! They over charge you if you don’t ask. Even though, if the price is ON the MENU. The “manager” I guess he acted like he “doesn’t know”. C’mon you better take care of what you doing, I felt scammed. Plus it wasn’t the first time. Other time we he waitress wasn’t polite at all. Other time they forgot our order, we were serve after all the guesses who come after me. Of course there’s inflation and everything but it feels like scams.
It is very difficult to find a good Colombian restaurant in Brooklyn or Manhattan. I don't know what region of Colombia most of them are from but they are a total disappointment but this place honestly made me waste my time and money food in poor condition greasy incipient what a bad representation, no I only complained at the time about the terrible food, another table did the same, the lady didn't care.
The (black) coffee was not brewed properly; tasted watered down. When ordered with cream they put way too many pumps without asking. I'd get cheaper and better coffee nearby.
I have been to this place a couple of time and the food is amazing but on this particular day i asked for a couple of empanadas and the lady that served me was ok but this time the empanadas looked like they were a day old and soaked in oil and were just hard as hell i dont understand if they were not fresh they should have never sold them the service was terrible on this day .. i had to throw them out because they did not look edible... i would not recommend there empanadas they lost a costumer there😌
Our first time there my husband order a skirt steak he tried it and gave me a piece and he added some chimichurri to his he told me something is off I try without chimichurri and I knew it was bad like a sour taste the waitress took it back and she came out telling us that it was the chimichurri but the piece that I had didn’t have any of it long story short the second steak came out and it seem that it was the same so disappointing he paid for a steak he didn’t even eat the most expensive rice and beans we have ever pay for
My wife and I use to visit this place every week and we like the food but today Sunday morning, we had a very bad experience . First, one of the server the light dark skin. I order for two people and ask if I could get two baskets. She gave me an actitudes and said she didn’t have many baskets,. Then, when we were still eating another girl came asked Us if we almost done because they need the table. I think if they don’t want people to seat and eat, They should let the customers know before they buy anything there. Absolutely not coming back .. until they have a good service.
Service was horrible. I came here 2 years ago and it wasn't as horrendous as it is now I wish they had an option for 0 stars personally. Moreover, They didn't have some options I asked for and the waitress seemed to have an attitude about it. The other waitress with the black hair was nice. Nonetheless I wouldn't recommend it and never coming back which is unfortunate because the food was good.
All things considered, the food prices are very high. Their behavior is also bad.
Overrated. Service wasn't pleasant. Atmosphere was nice though.
Well, on social media BrooklynLadyFood deletes every negative comment people leave her, which clearly shows that as long as she gets a free plate, she’ll say anything nice about a place. But the reality is different. I was served food that was honestly a waste of money, greasy, no seasoning, no love. The only things worth it are what they don’t even make, like Colombian snacks or sodas. And the service from the owners’ son? Rude, disrespectful, as if customers weren’t the reason they’re still in business. The girls at the register were super nice, but the owners? Meh.
Went for mondongo On Sunday they didn't have it Chicharrones were old double fried Very hard Waitress was too busy and distracted Couple of items were wrong
The food is okay, looks like is fresh just on Wendays, you can tell they don’t treat good the employees.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I typically overlook minor issues at restaurants and give grace where needed, but this takeout experience was met with pure hostility and disrespect. We placed two orders for pickup. After driving back to Staten Island, we discovered a $31 order was completely missing, a significant amount to just lose. My mother-in-law called first (she speaks Spanish) and was told they could only offer a credit. Since we don't live in NY, I called back to explain the situation. They insisted there was nothing they could do, not even a cash refund for their mistake. They blamed their POS system (Toast) for not being able to process refunds. When I asked to speak to the manager, the person on the phone claimed he was the manager. I asked for his name and he responded, "You don't need to know my name." When I persisted, his final words to me were: "I'll give you my name when you pull up." This man has zero business being in a management position. He clearly doesn't know how to manage or handle basic customer service issues and should be replaced immediately. His behavior was vulgar, disgusting, and completely unprofessional. We will never return, nor would we ever recommend this place. Oh, and if you're wondering how the food was? My rice was soggy, the chicharrón was soft with zero crunch, and everything was overpriced for what you got. As for the missing $31 order? I couldn't tell you, they don't actually resolve issues, so I'll never know.
Came here while on a search for tamales and they said they had some. I was really excited, but once I started eating I noticed the filling was just fatty pieces and bones... There was 2 pieces of actual meat. $15 for that is wild. Dealing with some post nausea from it as well now. I don't recommend this place.
I ordered a bandeja paisa to go, expecting a generous portion for the $25 price.I was really disappointed. The portion was small—literally 2 and a half spoons of rice and the smallest single fried egg I ever got on a bandeja paisa. I tried to stay optimistic, thinking maybe the flavor would make up for it, but I WAS WRONG !. The meat tasted slimy and old—I couldn’t take more than one bite I had to throw it out. Honestly, it wasn’t worth at all. This didn’t taste like authentic Colombian food. Next time, I’ll head to Queens for the real thing. Lesson learned.
Ordered a Calentado Sabor de Colombia without the chicharron and wanted a substitute of platanos. We ended up with a plate of rice and beans with the egg and arepa and was charged for the platanos - when we told them they claimed they couldn’t make any changes to the order so we ended up paying the whole price of both. Never going back there again. It was not the Colombian food experienced I’ve had in other restaurants.
