Sabor de Columbia Brooklyn Reviews
My thoughts on this place align with what others have said. The charges at Sabor de Colombia Restaurant and Bakery are justified by its location. The service was particularly excellent. The food quality and service level were outstanding with no flaws. A totally impressive meal!
Loved it and totally recommend it! Authentic and fresh Colombian flavors. The service was amazing too: very gentle and helpful. Music at the right volume and with a good assortment of Colombian and Latin American sounds. Will be back for sure! The Casuela de Fríjoles is excellent! Also had fresh Pan de Bono’s, which were great. We loved the Pechora de Pollo too.
Today I was in the Brooklyn area and I decided to go through a bakery. I have always wanted to go to this bakery. I have to say that it was a good experience. I had good service, they were attentive. The food was great. I ordered the caldo de costilla, the flavor was phenomenal and I can also say that The meat and chicken empanadas were great, juicy and very hot. I have to give them 10/10 would go back again.
I went yesterday for the first time, and let me tell you it’s not going to be my last visit. I live in Long Island and since it is not a short trip to Brooklyn it was definitely worth it. I got the cazuela de frijoles and it was DELICIOUS!! it was so fresh and tasty I loved it! It made me feel like at home!! 🇨🇴🇨🇴 Then even though I was super full since it is a big plate I decided to try bunuelos and almojábana with coffee 🤤🤤🤤 OMG!! It was amazing! The service was great and everyone was very friendly. I’ll go every time I’ll be in Brooklyn ❣️
I had to stop eating and write this review before I forget. I ordered the classic dish of Colombia, Bandeja Paisa and it’s so F! good. Unbelievable taste of Colombia. Thank you and I’ll definitely going to finish my plate now and come back for more soon since I’m from the neighborhood Update: came back here because the food was so good the first time. This time the food is still good but the service was not so good. The lady didn’t even understand me when I ask for hot sauce. Food is still good tho! Is it worth it to come back again ? 😎
The food is okay, looks like is fresh just on Wendays, you can tell they don’t treat good the employees.
If I could give this place zero stars, I would. I typically overlook minor issues at restaurants and give grace where needed, but this takeout experience was met with pure hostility and disrespect. We placed two orders for pickup. After driving back to Staten Island, we discovered a $31 order was completely missing, a significant amount to just lose. My mother-in-law called first (she speaks Spanish) and was told they could only offer a credit. Since we don't live in NY, I called back to explain the situation. They insisted there was nothing they could do, not even a cash refund for their mistake. They blamed their POS system (Toast) for not being able to process refunds. When I asked to speak to the manager, the person on the phone claimed he was the manager. I asked for his name and he responded, "You don't need to know my name." When I persisted, his final words to me were: "I'll give you my name when you pull up." This man has zero business being in a management position. He clearly doesn't know how to manage or handle basic customer service issues and should be replaced immediately. His behavior was vulgar, disgusting, and completely unprofessional. We will never return, nor would we ever recommend this place. Oh, and if you're wondering how the food was? My rice was soggy, the chicharrón was soft with zero crunch, and everything was overpriced for what you got. As for the missing $31 order? I couldn't tell you, they don't actually resolve issues, so I'll never know.
Came here while on a search for tamales and they said they had some. I was really excited, but once I started eating I noticed the filling was just fatty pieces and bones... There was 2 pieces of actual meat. $15 for that is wild. Dealing with some post nausea from it as well now. I don't recommend this place.
I ordered a bandeja paisa to go, expecting a generous portion for the $25 price.I was really disappointed. The portion was small—literally 2 and a half spoons of rice and the smallest single fried egg I ever got on a bandeja paisa. I tried to stay optimistic, thinking maybe the flavor would make up for it, but I WAS WRONG !. The meat tasted slimy and old—I couldn’t take more than one bite I had to throw it out. Honestly, it wasn’t worth at all. This didn’t taste like authentic Colombian food. Next time, I’ll head to Queens for the real thing. Lesson learned.
Ordered a Calentado Sabor de Colombia without the chicharron and wanted a substitute of platanos. We ended up with a plate of rice and beans with the egg and arepa and was charged for the platanos - when we told them they claimed they couldn’t make any changes to the order so we ended up paying the whole price of both. Never going back there again. It was not the Colombian food experienced I’ve had in other restaurants.
