Opinions de Squarrel Cafe Brooklyn
My wife and I stopped here earlier today for s cup of coffee, we tried their white latte no sugar and a grilled cheese, i loved the coffee, it was perfectly balanced and the grilled cheese was delicious as well. My wife loved it as well, but had to add two sugar packets because she thought that it was a bit bitter without sugar. FYI, they do use Parkay as a butter substitute so make sure you let them know not to add any if you care about yourself. The guy making it understood and happily made the change without saying anything or making us feel some type of way, he also refused to my offer to pay again. The experience deserves a 5 star rating and will return whenever im around.
Lovely food, drinks, space, people, super sweet music choices, so many games 😍 Also BIPOC/women run!!! Hell yes
--Friendly and accommodating staff - easy to make a reservation via phone call thanks to the helpful staff, the snow on the day of our reservation led to a number of cancellations in our party and the staff were really flexible and understanding when we came in much smaller than anticipated. --The cocoa and lattes we ordered were delicious and warrant a return trip for round two this season. --The games are fun, but not new so some are missing pieces and playing instructions/rules, but in the age of Google we got the gist and with a little imaginative adaptation we had a great time. --We enjoyed the cozy, playing around the kitchen table vibe they've got going on --There's a rewards program as well so I joined because I will definitely be back!
This cozy cafe left a great impression, though small the environment is inviting. The selection of food is decent, appetizing to say the least. Would recommend a visit, especially if you're trying to locate a spot to play DND (Dungeon and Dragons).
Friendly spot for coffee, teas, and snacks. Conveniently located spot to catch up with friends, get some work done, or play games. The wi-fi is strong and it's an inclusive, friendly atmosphere. The fresh made bakery items and rice balls are great choices
This is one of my favorite places to come to study, hang with friends, and meet cool people. The food is great (especially the rice balls) the vibe is amazing and they have a lot of amazing games to play and purchase if you really like them. I have found several board games here that I’ve bought myself because they were THAT good! And the staff are nothing but kind! If you are thinking of stopping by please do you won’t regret it
A quiet, cute space with wonderful drinks! I had the Grapefruit fizz (seasonal) and they adapted to make a caffeine free drink for my partner. $8/3 hours of game play per person meant we could relax in AC while playing cards, trying new games, and eating snacks. Definitely check it out!
if you are looking for a gaming cafe to make new friends or hang out with friends or even just enjoying some alone time I would confidently recommend coming here every time more-so even every lifetime. Alongside a finely curated collections of board games well into the hundreds; the ambiance and drinks are impeccable for the price. Furthermore, for drinks and food orders I could whole-heartedly endorse Sara, especially for the more intricate latte art.
My friends and I just spent 3 awesome hours playing Tycoon Raccoon, eating rice ball snacks, and drinking bubble tea! Squarrel Cafe is a great place: the atmosphere is very chill, the people are nice, and the game library is huge. It’s our new go-to spot for game nights!
I love this place. I always stop by for a drink. My favorite is the grilled cheese sandwich but they have variety of drinks and a few food items. The grilled cheese has abundant amount of cheese not your average grilled cheese. It is very filling and done fresh on the spot. I get a drip coffee with almond milk to go along with it. Sometimes the tables in the back are very crowded with people playing the vintage board games that you can play for a small fee. Overall it's a great cozy and super fun place to get a small bite and drink plus play boardgames.
Man this is a bomb little spot. I ordered on Grubhub while walking to the train to fly back to Mexico and I’m glad I chose this spot. The grilled cheese was delicious and cooked to perfection and the oolong tea was amazing. The tea to-go came in a cool little cup with a removable stopper just in case your on a rocky train or crazy uber 😆.
Place is nice and clean. There are books, games etc. Seating is available at several tables. Latte with less milk 9/10 -i specified less milk in the latte and they nailed it! Texture was perfect. Their cappuccino should be good too. Summer float with crystal boba (white/yellow drink) 8/10 Iced yuan Yang tea 7/10 but 8/10 with less milk Grilled cheese 9/10 Bubble Tea on the Beach (red drink) 7/10 -crystal boba is awesome and it is still good next day Cold Brew 7/10
Loved the playful squirrel themed cafe! Drinks are great too. I especially liked the lattes. You're also able to pay just $5 to play board games in the back area. They had a surprisingly great selection of games. There was a board game meet up going on while we were there, so I feel like it's pretty legit!
Good to Great Hot chocolate. Good to great food if you want and ask you can have or order or/ and order a on it also, if you want to play Monopoly you could come here. Since there is Monopoly game. I also recommend Monopoly games
Good coffee, nice place to sit and do some work with good WiFi. They let you reserve tables even during the day. Sends as though it gets busy for board games too.
Good time, good music, good drinks, nice staff. $8 per person for 3hrs for board games though. FYI. No veggie, vegan, or gluten-free options.
As far as Game Cafes go, this has a lot going for it. The table sizes are good, the selection, though not the biggest, is varied. You can play everything from casual party games, to mass market classics, to modern euros, historical war games and 18xx! I’m far from an expert on Bubble tea, but the passion fruit tea I got was refreshing and good. $8 sit and play fee for 3h of $15 for all day seems pretty standard, though I still wish more places implemented a food/drink minimum to waive these fees.
Cute and interesting spot for a cute and interesting lady to stop in when given a 2 hour wait notice from the Apple Store. You don't stumble upon an onigiri easy on this side, so THAT was a very pleasant surprise. One tuna onigiri, PLEASE! Reasonably priced menu items and a clean spacious area to play games. Not many vegan options for snacks, but oatmilk was available for my latte. I aint beefing.......plus WiFi MyGuy.... a happy find!
Nice cozy little spot with a lot of character and good service. They are absolutely loaded with board games of all kinds so it’s a nice little spot for locals to come together, chill, and play some games. I had good coffee and strangely good popcorn chicken. As you can see from the photo, the presentation of the chicken wasn’t much but don’t let the picture fool you it was actually pretty damn flavorful and affordable. I would order it again… Side note, the bathroom was also modern and clean which is always a much welcome benefit in a NYC establishment.
Nice spot for those who like table games and good quality of coffee. Cool, hippie vibe. The only negative part about this place is customer service of baristas. Very rude, had her headphones on her head and barely heard what I was ordering. Plastic cup with cover for ice coffee is good idea though.
If you are looking to get kicked out walk in to this this coffee shop. There are nicer and more chic coffee spots where to sit down little bit but i walked in because it was next to the store where i shop and obviously this is common and not addressed because others are complaining about the same thing, i bought coffee he didn't mention that i couldn't sit and he brought me coffee to the table and did not mention that was reserved, after 2 minutes 2 walked in he asked me to change table and all tables are full , i asked him where do i sit because i bought coffee to sit for little bit he said i don't know go to the front if you want to wasn't even pleasant to sit just i was tired i wanted to relax for 5 minutes, no air inside and smells like fried fish also while i was paying for coffee a girl walked in and sat in the front he was hatefully starring at her i didn't understand but now i know not sure what the concept but avoid this spot if you are not teenager playing games and don't care about service. i see that you are replying to everyone but not addressing the issue with your employees so no need to answer take the time to train you staff. Replying to your answer: There is nothing wrong with you prioritizing or honoring whoever you want in your coffee shop but for me as a customer i need that to be clear and communicated to me before making the purchase like a sign maybe outside as someone that have no idea what the concept of the coffee just seeing many tables and thinking to buy a runny latte for $8 only relax for 5 min and then being asked out by one of your employees over my head and 2 waiting on the side for me to move like i was squatting all day is not good. many customers are complaining in the reviews about the situation being kicked out not knowing why and by you not doing anything about it like adding a sign maybe to be clear for customers that are not there to paly games and that tables are reserved and prioritized for games feels like you are SCAMMING people that are buying food or drink only to sit and relax for little bit.
