I frequently visit the sheepshead Bay Area for the wide selection of cuisines, one that has always had a place in my heart, and my stomach is Georgian. This restaurant is incredible at mimicking the home style food we all know and love. I started out with the house salad, khinkhali and the khachapuri everything was delicious. Following this I had the lamb chops served with a zesty and refreshing sauce that went perfectly with the lamb. Aside from the food I have a walnut allergy and our waitress informed me if I chose a dish with a nut in general. Other Georgian restaurants like oda house a few blocks down handle this terribly. In summery this was an amazing and authentic experience.

The food is consistently excellent — I especially love their khachapuri and khinkali (both boiled and fried), which are an absolute must every time. had a pleasant dinner in this place, came there almost by accident, as I was invited to a birthday party. and then came a parade of incredibly tasty dishes, one by one, course by course, and each time smelling and looking awesome, and I couldn't wait seconds to just try them all out. the friendly staff announce the names and I am so sorry not remembering anything, those complicated Georgian words, and of course my desire to try them all as soon as they arrived... oh my poor small stomach. there is a reason every big European Capital has a Georgian restaurant as one of the favorites there no matter how good the local cuisine is. we are so lucky to have several in the city, and the sunny house is the one you should not miss to visit.

The first visit was a banquet letting us sample most of the menu. On the second visit, I completed the list. On both occasions the food was consistently fresh, full of flavor, and overall delicious. It’s impressive how they maintain such a high quality across every dish - including dessert and even tea. A few dishes absolutely stood out: Khinkali (both beef and lamb), Megrelian Khachapuri, Adjaruli Khachapuri, Veal Stew (Chashashuli), and Baby Lamb Chops. The interior is warm and nicely decorated, creating a cozy ambiance. The table setup feels like a proper restaurant, rather than a casual café vibe usual for Georgian spots. The two dining rooms layout allows for some privacy if you host a party. There is nice live music on weekend evenings, but it's very loud. Even in the inner room with doors closed, the music makes it hard to hear each other. If quieter setting to talk and socialize is important - arrive before the music starts. Service is polite, friendly, and attentive, though it can lag during busy evenings. On non-banquet visit, the entrées arrived immediately after hot appetizers and khachapuri, leaving no time to enjoy the starters while they were still hot. Not sure why it's done that way, probably cultural norm. To have sufficient time to focus on appetizers explicitly ask the staff not to rush the entrees. I highly recommend Sunny House for its high-quality Georgian cuisine and beautiful, welcoming ambiance! Mains & Grilled Dishes Khinkali with Beef / with Lamb - this was another hit! Certainly one of the best khinkali I've tried! Flavorful, well-textured, and full of juice.. Lamb version is quite spicy. Chicken Shkmeruli - very tasty. Megrelian Kharcho - excellent! Rich sauce with a bold Georgian spice blend. Same note on meat texture as the regular kharcho. Veal Stew (Chashashuli) - absolutely amazing! Tender veal that melts in your mouth. The sauce is a magical combo of veggies and Georgian spices creating a unique delicious flavor. I think it’s one of the best dishes at Sunny House. Lamb Chops - outstanding! Juicy, full of flavor, and cooked perfectly. Mixed Grill platter (chicken kebab, pork kebab, baby lamb chops, lulya kebab in lavash with grilled peppers) - everything on the platter including grilled peppers was awesome and delicious! First time at this restaurant on a very cold Tuesday, but we got a warm welcome from our server, Eka, and the other staff. We ordered the khachapuri, the Georgian walnut salad, the pork shish kebab, the grilled dorado and the Napolean for dessert. Absolutely delicious! Everything tasted fresh and so well seasoned. The prices are reasonable, especially with the generous portion sizes. Eka was a lovely and knowledgeable server, and gave us spot on recommendations. The space is very clean and spacious. Finally, finally an excellent restaurant in Sheepshead Bay. PS- Great place for a group! Can't wait to come back.

Our server, Tamuna, was incredibly sweet and attentive the entire time, constantly checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. First time at this restaurant on a very cold Tuesday, but we got a warm welcome from our server, Eka, and the other staff. We ordered the khachapuri, the Georgian walnut salad, the pork shish kebab, the grilled dorado and the Napolean for dessert. Absolutely delicious! Everything tasted fresh and so well seasoned. The prices are reasonable, especially with the generous portion sizes. Eka was a lovely and knowledgeable server, and gave us spot on recommendations. The space is very clean and spacious. Finally, finally an excellent restaurant in Sheepshead Bay. PS- Great place for a group! Can't wait to come back.

Sunny House is such a lovely spot — the food was fresh, flavorful and came out quickly. The service was absolutely amazing. Our server, Tamuna, was incredibly sweet and attentive the entire time, constantly checking in and making sure we had everything we needed. The Dorado fish was perfectly seasoned, had divine crispy skin, and was flawlessly cooked (done, but not dry). It was my first time ever experiencing Georgian food, and the sauces/flavors were fantastic!

Had an excellent dining experience with a large friend group for a birthday. It was our first time trying Georgian food for most of the group, and this place was recommended by a friend. The platters were really flavorful and great for sharing. The staff was also very helpful and sweet!

I came here on a whim and immediately felt welcomed. The staff recognized it was our first time and gave us excellent recommendations and even showed us how to eat. I highly recommend any pastry (cheese boat was excellent) and the chicken skewers. The plum sauce is out of this world! Thank you for the excellent service. We will be returning

This place is great for parties and pre-arranged events. Not the greatest for just walk-ins, as they can be busy for prior arranged events. Also, not a fan of their wine selection. There are many fantastic Georgian wines in the US. However, this place only has a limited and not the greatest selection.

Disgusting food disgusting service and if you want to see people fighting all day you should come here. The blonde waitress is rude and nasty and answers back to you thinking that it’s ok.
