I am swooning for Swoony’s! Sweet Jesus this is some good food. I am picky as hell and let me tell you this hit every mark for me. Each dish was better than the last. The wedge salad, burger, and French toast were all worth killing your first born for. Trust
everything i've had (dorade, kale salad, burger, steak) has been exceptional! it's always a safe bet for a great meal.
A true gem on Columbia St. The staff is impeccable. Skylar is A+++. In addition to menu - short rib, burger, tuna tartar, orzo, French toast and soft serve - I love the selection of cocktails and wines as well - very special curation.
Can't go wrong with the wedge salad and their incredible burger. Pretty loud inside and a bit cramped at the bar, but if you can sit outside, it's delightful!
Sal Lamboglia has completely nailed it @ Swoony's. The food/menu, the service and the vibe all come together in the perfect night out. Creamy lobster orzo and lamb meatballs started things off for me along with a glass of French sauvignon blanc and a glass of Spanish cabernet (great choices!). A really delicious 2-patty cheeseburger with thousand island secret sauce was my entree, yes wonderful fries come with, plus the surprise hit of the night--the best wedge salad ever (traditional and perfect with "frizzled" onions on top). Finished with a crusty piece of french toast, walnuts and maple syrup ala mode with classic soft serve (two separate desserts, just naturally combined!). Sal you have done everything just right!
Chill local spot worth going to even if you're not a local. The burger.... the burger, oh, and the burger. Did I mention the burger? Anyway, we had a bunch of other menu items, and everything is really, really good. We eat out a lot, and Swoonys definitely deserves a spot way up the list of places we really like a lot. Already well on our way to becoming regulars.
There were 5 of us. This restaurant/bistro place is cozy with a great vibe. The appetizers you have to order the goat cheese and lobster orzo. And if they have the ribeye special you can easily share it amongst 4 person. The drinks are good even their mocktail zesty breeze. Our server Denny was a joy. Our vibes reciprocated and we had a ball. A busy place on a Wednesday and the food is on point.
Great food and cocktails, and the best smash burger in Brooklyn.
Exactly what you expect and what you want. Each dish elevated. Service on point. Intimate convivial environment.
Love this place!! It’s the cozy restaurant that everyone wishes was in their neighborhood. Great spot for a date, a family dinner, special occasion etc but also the kind of spot I could totally hit once or twice a week just for a drink and a snack at the bar or a casual weekday dinner at a reasonable price point. Cocktails were dope, complete with fancy glassware — try the Pistachio or a classic Old Pal for the fall. Everything we had from the kitchen was spot on with the highlights being lamb meatballs, chickpeas with pickles, salads just right, clams casino, lobster orzo. Mains of halibut, chicken, and steak all crushed and in the $25-35 range a steal for the neighborhood. Service was friendly and professional, attentive but unpretentious. 👍
If you're looking for an incredible dining experience, Swoonys is the place to be. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by the friendly faces of Sal and Giovanna, whose passion for food and hospitality is palpable. Sal's culinary skills are nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish is crafted with care and every bite feels like a home-cooked meal made with love. Giovanna complements Sal’s talent perfectly with her welcoming demeanor. She has a remarkable ability to make you feel right at home and help you pick a great wine. Her attention to detail and genuine care for each guest elevates the dining experience to something truly special. Together, Sal and Giovanna create a cozy atmosphere that invites you to linger over your meal and enjoy the company of friends and family. The combination of incredible food and top notch hospitality makes Swoonys a must-visit. Highly recommended!
I forgot to take pics, but the food was phenomenal. Deviled Eggs were so delicious could have ordered 20 more. Potatoe Croquettes mmmmmm mmmmm mmmmm. The burger was amazing, flavorful and the English muffin bun is fantastic
We are still swooning over Swoney's! Easily top 5 resturant for myself in NYC. Classic food with a favorful twist. They were able to accomdate my GF intolerance- which thank you! The pistachio drink is to die for! The burger (without the bun) fantastic! The soft serve is a must to end the evening. The reviews about the service definitely have some truth to them however, it seems they understand the feedback and are actively working to make service better. Shout out to Oscar and Danny for doing just that! Update: Came back today (06/22) and still love it all the same!
Everything you’ve heard about the burger is true- it’s amazing. From the crust on the patties to the bun, it’s delicious. Definitely a must have when you come here. The food is amazing and the service is even better- the hostesses were so kind and Denny was absolutely wonderful. I can’t wait to come back!
Wow!!! I had heard a lot of hype about this place and wasn’t sure it’d live up to it. From the wine, to the burger, to the crab toast— everything was incredible! If you’re lucky enough to have Mesha as your waiter, you have supremely lucked out. He is knowledgeable, kind, and excited to help you choose your culinary adventure!
We've been wanting to try this spot for a while now, we finally went Thursday for dinner at 5:30 pm and there was already a cool vibe in there. The food did not disappoint, we had the asparagus, the shrimp cocktail (my 7 year old ate all of them), the baked clams and the short rib (really good fries too) and the french toast for dessert, they were all outstanding and I can't wait to come back for the burger, the risotto, sprouts and to have the french toast again. Wife loved the cocktails and their winelist is nicely organized. Congratulations to the team on another killer restaurant. Can't wait for the next one!
Swoony’s is such a gem! Incredible food and service in a charming space that blends modern and traditional touches. Every single dish we ate was 1000/10, including the deceptively simple vanilla soft serve at the end. Drinks and wine selections great as well. Will be back!
The Cheeseburger was one of the best I've ever had, divine and delectable. Had a few other apps....brussel sprouts were amazing. Cocktails were top notch. Tight space but the atmosphere is fantastic.
Incredible! I never knew that a restaurant could have a “through line” with flavor. Mind blown. From stuffed barely ripe green olives, to fries, skirt steak, to a 22oz special cut boneless porterhouse, salad and even a slice of French toast for dessert - it all worked together for a very memorable meal and a great evening!
Truly phenomenal food and service! Every dish was exquisite, full of flavor, and nothing disappointed. Eben, Mesaj, and Yuliya helped us out and they were all absolutely amazing! Our head chef at the restaurant we work at recommended this spot to us and we are so happy he did. Truly an amazing night. The Waterfront Ember cocktail may be the best cocktail I’ve had in my life. Marco, the bartender who created the cocktail came over and explained everything that goes into it and it was very interesting and enlightening to learn about. He was so kind!! Also the desserts… TO DIE FOR. Thank you!!!
Food was wonderful, service attentive. Burger and soft serve are a must. We had an overall great experience and will be coming back. They were very kind to our toddler and had the high chair set up for our reservation :)
This place deserves a Michelin star—no debate. Hands down, the best restaurant I’ve ever eaten at. Every dish was an absolute masterpiece. Between two people, we somehow managed to devour deviled eggs, Brussels sprouts, a wedge salad, lobster orzo, a hamburger, and chocolate mousse (because balance). And let me tell you, every single bite exceeded expectations. I’d give it six stars if that were a thing.
Saw this place on TikTok and truly lived up to the high expectations. We were a little late for our reservation but as soon as the table was free they seated me immediately even when I was waiting for my partner to show. The service was so fast and nice. It was so refreshing to be treated so nicely. The food was amazing. Had the lobster orzo which was so amazing, creamy and melt in your mouth. Then the smash burgers with fries. Tooooo good. So soft and tasteful. Had a cantaloupe spritz which was refreshing and delicious. Then a Negroni with bourbon, too good. Overall was amazing and definitely will be coming back. One of my favorites now. Thank you!
Delicious food, amazing vibe, and they made our evening with complimentary soft serve as we were celebrating our anniversary!
Every dish on the menu is superb and service fantastic. This is the experience you want to have. Excellent.
Great burger. Tremendous kale Caesar salad and deviled egg with roe. The mezcal waterfront cocktail is one of those perfect cocktails. The ambiance was great for a winter night and I imagine it'll be great when I go back in the summer.
Took my partner here for his birthday and it was a great experience! All of the food we ordered was delicious (shrimp cocktail, Brussel sprouts, PEI mussels, and the burger) and the waiter who took care of us was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant has a great ambience and everyone around seemed to be having a great time. Will definitely be back!
Food was amazing, the burger was juicy, the lobster orzo was flavorful and the French toast for dessert was great! The service was especially excellent, it seemed that all the staff really cared for us. We celebrated my husband’s birthday for dinner here, very worth it!
Book a table for you and your friends now before they get a Michelin star and you can't afford it anymore. Absolutely incredible staff; absolute pros, and amazing throwback New York food. The cocktails are just as creative and delicious. It's one of the few places I prefer eating at the bar. Great for locals and visitors alike. Easily one of New York's best restaurants.
Absolutely incredible every time! We love this restaurant so much, it’s our favorite in all of NYC. everything on the menu is great but the burger and french toast dessert are must-haves. The hospitality is unreal; the staff is so good at what they do (especially Denny who is always so thoughtful and kind!)
I think this is my favorite restaurant in NYC! Have been 4 times since it opened and each time it has only gotten better. The short rib with fries is a must and everything else on the menu pairs well around it. Definitely share so you can taste a little of everything. I took family visiting from out of town and they were obsessed. Also warm service and super cozy atmosphere ❤️
We sat at the bar and ordered the whipped goat cheese, kale caeser salad and the burger. Everything was great. Good service - nothing came too fast or too slow. Bar staff were friendly but not over bearing.
Can't imagine this not being 5 stars. We sat at the bar and our bartender / server Nicolas was fantastic. His cocktails were rock solid and I strongly recommend their white negroni as a follow-on to a gin martini featuring their Maytag blue cheese-stuffed olives. We loved the whipped goat cheese and tuna tartare starters. And don't sleep on their Wedge Salad (this brings steakhouse wedge salads to shame). And while we will 100% go back for the burger, as watching people's orgasmic reactions to their first and second bites was quite the testimonial, we highly recommend the Short Rib Au Poivre. I'm not Canadian and this not poutine, but serving this on fries was truly decadent. Last not but not least, you'll love the playlist. Great vibe all around.
One of the best meals I’ve had in NYC in a while. We ordered the whipped goat cheese starter - must try if you like goat cheese, it was very flavorful. For mains, I ordered the burger and it really is like a gourmet Big Mac like others have said. The bun is super soft and unique. My wife got the short rib au poivre and really liked it - it was rich and tender. The viral French toast and soft serve dessert is a must try, one of the best desserts in NYC. Service was great. Highly recommend.
Very flavorful and melty burger. Good cider. Nice atmosphere. Gets busy in the evening. I saw the burger in a top 10 list and it definitely belonged there. Unique, airy bun. Great sauces. Could be larger, but very good burger
Amazing quality ingredients - I had the cheeseburger, spinach side, the mixed green salad, and the vanilla soft serve, swoonys non-alcoholic bev cheeseburger was great, fries were perfect high end McDonald’s dupes ….but I had mistakenly eaten too soon before before I got here…. So the MIXED green salad and ice cream honestly stole the show for me… I can honestly say that was the best mixed greens I have ever had- from the freshness/selection of the leaves and the seasoning …. gave me life - also the nonalcoholic cocktail they made was excellent the bartender was so nice and gave me a bunch of bar recommendations, hosts were great too! a great authentic nyc experience !! And great pricing!
candlelit in carroll gardens — swank town city. date night or boys night. split a bottle and get ready for a lovely evening swoony’s burger — an elevated big mac that delivers. multiple people claimed it was “the best they’ve ever had” double patty with a PERFECT char on the outside, thousand island dressing and a portuguese bun that is an absolute show stopper. fluffy, yet thin. savory, never greasy. chef sal, you’ve outdone yourself w/ this one 🫡 favorite surprise of the night — the sip bite sip signature cocktail. lil dessert ~before~ dinner? my treat
This place is astoundingly good from top to bottom. The hostess Carla was amazing. Our server was next level. The clams casino is one of the best dishes I’ve had in my twenty years in New York hands down. Don’t sleep on the prawns or the lobster orzo. My only complaint possible is the portions are a little small but GOD DANG are they delicious. The burger is very tasty but maybe not worth the price but everything else is truly unfathomably scrumptious. Been here twice now. Plan on being back as much as my wallet can handle it.
I went to Swoony’s yesterday with my family. It was delicious! Once we came in, we were seated to a table right away. The lady at the front was very welcoming, and the atmosphere was great. It had a romantic, dim-light, vibe which really set a nice mood for our dinner. The food was delicious. We started with appetizers: the lobster orzo, brussel sprouts, goat cheese with bread, and tuna tartar. I truly wasn’t able to get enough of it. As the main course came, just the smell already told me it would be as delicious! My family got burgers, hanger steak and short rib. The meat was perfectly prepared, soft to bite into and had a delicious taste! The drinks we had were also amazing. They were not too strong, but delicious enough to want another round. Highly recommend to come here for a date night or just a gathering!
Incredible dinner! We loved the Goat cheese (so much better than you’d think), Lamb meatballs, Crab Louie, and short ribs. The Lobster Orzo is unfortunately nothing special. Atmosphere is ideal for small dinner with friends or date night and service is excellent. PS get the pistachio mezcal drink.
Anyone missing that old place that was here before, what was it called? Disappointment on Columbia Bar…? I can’t quite remember. Anyway what a welcome upgrade. I think the burger is out of the bag - I tried to go back for seconds a few nights later and it was a 2 hour wait. Good for y’all. Everything from the burger to the mussels to all three (whoops) cocktails I had were killer. Maybe the rum punch was a touch sweet? That’s if I’m scraping the barrel for a critique. Stoked to come back and eat and drink and be merry here again.
Swoonys was a hit! Right from the appetizers, we knew we were in for a treat. Each starter was a burst of flavor, prepping our appetites for more. The burger was no ordinary burger; juicy, flavorful, with a perfect bun. It set a high bar.The lobster orzo was luxury in a bite, creamy and filled with delicious lobster pieces. It was seafood bliss.Brussels sprouts were surprisingly addictive; crispy, slightly sweet, and utterly delicious. The hanger steak was tender and flavorful, a true highlight of the meal, melting in our mouths with its robust taste. The short rib was comfort on a plate, tender and rich, complemented by a perfect sauce.Dessert was the grand finale, a delightful mix of sweet, creamy, and crunchy that left us all satisfied. Great spot! Returning very soon!
Everything was splendid! We did a reservation for 2 near closing and did not feel rushed at all. We got potato croquette, kale salad, whipped goat cheese, and the double patty burger. Not usually a croquette fan but it was so gooey filled with cheese; the lemon adds a nice touch to the fried bite. The whipped goat cheese was light, sweet, and savory— the sesame(?) on top added a delightful crunch. The double patty burger was melt-in-your-mouth good, the bun was a soft pillow that acted like the perfect vessel. + the thin crispy fries = the best. Would definitely come back here again.
If you know me, you know this is my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. Best burger in NYC to say the least. I literally come from the UWS monthly to get my hands on it.
Have lived in Bk heights for a few years now and ashamed I have only just discovered them. The food is delicious, the vibes are right and overall a wonderful experience. Only down side, which wasn’t really a big deal, was service was slow getting our wine and taking our food order. Granted it was a Monday night and they did seem slammed so I understand if things fell through the cracks! Keep it up, will be coming back again and again!
Some of the best service I’ve had in a long time—high attention to detail, food was delicious, the burger is a must-order and the beet salad special was divine. Mussels too. Whipped goat cheese was exceptional as well, everything was delicious and the service made the meal that much better. Really amazing, would consider coming back for a birthday!
everything was executed so well in my opinion. we ordered the clams casino, potato croquettes, deviled eggs, tuna crudo, lobster orzo, the burger and the chocolate mousse. the burger did remind me of a shake shack type of burger but i liked the bun more. everything was great. the standout for us was the potato croquettes and the let down was the lobster orzo. we wish the that orzo had some more flavor but it had a lot of lobster in it. the deviled eggs were unique with the onion filling and i enjoyed that. the dessert was insanely good. the strawberry spread was so fresh and the chocolate was not too sweet or too bitter. the service was quick which we love and the restaurant itself is pretty.
Would give 6 stars if I could. The service here is amazing. The smallest details - folding your napkin when you go to the restroom, arranging your utensils just so. The most mundane food, French fries or a hamburger bun, made so deliciously. You’ve never had goat cheese or creamed spinach like this. The best smash burger I’ve had in Brooklyn. And the cocktails are incredible too.
This is now my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn. I’ve never been a goat cheese person, until trying Swoony’s whipped goat cheese. Also the best brussels sprouts and clams casino I’ve ever eaten. It’s very rare that I finish all of the food on my plate, but last night’s short rib au poivre and fries were too good to not eat. The chocolate mousse for dessert was fine, but I’ll absolutely be back to try everything else on the menu. The drinks were also great. Strong and reasonably priced, as was the wine list. The service was very friendly, my only complaint is that since it was so busy, sometimes it took a minute to get our waiter’s attention. That being said, I’ll remember this meal for a very long time. I’m already wishing for more fries.
Excellent food across the board—from the burger to the risotto, you truly can’t go wrong with any dish. We dined at Swoony’s for the first time on the recommendation of dear friends, and the food absolutely delivered. Hats off to the chef. For starters, I highly recommend the lobster orzo and grilled prawns. As for mains, the burger, hanger steak, and butternut squash risotto were all outstanding. The cocktails were equally delicious. The ambiance is great, though it does get a bit noisy, and the place was completely full. Service was attentive and seamless throughout. Dare I say I’ve found a new neighborhood favorite? It was that good.
Loved sitting outside with our dog on a summer evening and feasting on their creamy lobster orzo with big chunks of lobster, their Greek salad with toasted pita which actually is the best Greek salad I’ve had (our waiter Misha was right), and the decadent two-patty burger, oozing with a little too much thousand-island sauce, but it was still great. I think I like Swoony’s more than their sister restaurant Cafe Spaghetti, believe it or not! Every dish is a tad unique. 5 stars!!!
Ate at Swoony’s with my husband for Valentine’s Day and we were blown away. The place is top notch. From the atmosphere to the food to the staff. It’s a classy joint. The burger is phenomenal, easily the best we’ve ever eaten. The tuna crudo, the kale salad, the lobster orzo and the French toast dessert were all stellar too. We cannot wait to come back!
I came here for dinner with my husband, we really enjoyed the place, the atmosphere the hospitality the food and drink were so good. I took just a few pics I wish I had taken more, everything was plated so lovely and tasted so good. We really had a great time speaking to the bartender while we sat and ate at the bar. Gianna the manger and the girl at the front were amazingly friendly and welcoming. Our first time here and definitely not our last.
One of the best meals I’ve had In a long time! The service the food and the ambiance were all 5/5! We started with martinis and the blue cheese stuffed olives, the cracked pepper added a perfect touch! Next we had the asparagus which had a good cheese flavor but let the tangy Cesar dressing shine. The burger was well cooked with the perfect McDonald’s dupe fries! The creamed spinach was hands down the best I’ve ever had in my life. I loved how forward the caramelized onions were Don’t sleep on dessert! We got the French toast with the soft serve and it tasted like French toast sticks from your childhood
My boyfriend and I just ate at Swoony’s for our first time and it was a great experience. From start to finish the service was incredible. We arrived about 10 minutes before our reservation time and the hostess sat us right away. We never went without our water glasses less than half full and they did a great job coursing out our entire meal. Our server, Mesha, was very friendly and gave us great recommendations. The cocktails we ordered were delicious; we both loved the Swoony’s Spritz. I also enjoyed the Waterfront Ember and my boyfriend thought the Casablanca was delicious. The highlights that we ate were the potato croquettes, the lobster orzo, and the burger. The whipped goat cheese with chili crunch was definitely the most unique dish we ordered and it was so tasty. We also had the casino clams and Brussels sprouts which were flavorful, too. We were too full to try dessert and happily took home some leftovers. We already can’t wait to come back and try some other things, especially the cheesecake dessert. Thank you Swoony’s!
As we were eating we were already planning to come back. I got a martini with blue cheese olives and my partner got the old fashioned which were both excellent. We got the whipped goat cheese which was amazing and the lobster risotto for appetizers (I will say the risotto wasn’t the best as it didn’t seem to be fully cooked when it came out). We then shared the burger, which my partner immediately regretted sharing as he wanted his own. I am very particular with my burgers but this was delicious. Can’t wait to come back!
Was able to walk in here in Labor Day, and grab a table outside. Regretted that slightly since the ambiance inside looked great but was just here by myself to try the burger I think it lived up the hype, the bun was a toasted English muffin with two thin patties, pickles, cheese and Thousand Island dressing. All of which were added with moderation to not overwhelm the taste of the beef, and it came together really well. I prefer this style of burger to the very thick pub type, and the thin crispy fries were delicious If I came back would also order the brussel sprouts which smelled amazing at the table next to me
My partner and I took a risk and tried to come here on a rainy Saturday night around 7pm and we were told we might be able to get bar seats in 45 minutes and were added to the list by the kind host. Only waited about 20-25 minutes before we got a text and they were able to give us a table! We only had until 9 though until the next reservation, which was totally fine. We were very grateful! We started off strong with delicious cocktails. I ordered the white Negroni and my partner got a Black Manhattan. To eat we had the grilled prawns, PEI mussels, and burger. We both agreed our absolute favorite were the mussels. Absolutely loved the shells and the garlic mustardy sauce. The slices of garlic were plentiful and I ate every last one. We loved the sauce so much we dipped the fries from the burger in the sauce and ended up scraping the remainder of the sauce on top of the fries. The burger was amazing too. The English muffin bun was so fresh and soft. The burger was two smash patties atop with cheese. Absolutely love the thousand island dressing on top! We finished off the meal with the French toast and vanilla ice cream. Both of these dishes were amazing combined…. But the French toast is outstanding on its own. Perfectly caramelized outside atop with fresh maple syrup. Overall, we love this new addition to the neighborhood and we can’t wait to come back!
We had such a great time at Swoony’s! Super friendly and kind staff, the food and drinks were amazing. We came to visit from California all the way to Brooklyn to taste their burger. It was so worth the trip! We also had the tuna crudo, lobster orzo, and the risotto (delicious as well). For dessert we had the French toast with their soft serve, no words for that one, just order it. Looking forward to visiting again soon!
I really enjoyed Swoony’s and am looking forward to returning. I really liked the wedge salad and whipped goat cheese to start. We had 1/2 other times which I don’t recall that were also tasty. The reason you’re most likely here is for the steak frites and the short rib au poivre does not disappoint. We finished with the cheesecake mousse, which we all enjoyed. The menu is littered with items you want to try that you don’t have enough room for so multiple visits are needed. The staff is friendly and the ambience is perfect, more upscale than a neighborhood restaurant but not stuffy or stiff. I can’t wait to come back & try more deliciousness at Swoony’s.
Perfect anytime spot. Iceberg lettuce wedge right on! Brussel Sprouts a must have. Short Rib is a killer, Mussels and Mousse. Will definitely be back.
Simple menu, but great food. Even simple things like lamb meatballs came to life with intense flavors and fresh ingredients. The goat cheese spread, and the fish were also great. The burger was a "fast food chain recipe" made really well.
Simple menu, but great food. Even simple things like lamb meatballs came to life with intense flavors and fresh ingredients. The goat cheese spread, and the fish were also great. The burger was a "fast food chain recipe" made really well.
Shame on me for not remembering the waitress name that worked on Monday night at 5pm. Slick back ponytail - blonde color. She was absolutely delightful. Before you could ask for your glass to be refilled she executed in a stealth like matter because I didn’t even remember her interrupting to refill. She checked on our table periodically but not overbearing. Of course we have the Swoony smash burger and each bite had me shameful that I didn’t order another to take home. I got mine the bacon but honestly did not need it because the burger it served with two patties. I was overly stuffed with meat. The bartender - scratch that, the mixologist came to our table to pour our wine and cava. I must extend my gratitude to the waitress for informing that Casablanca drink was a strong spirit. I could taste the intensity of the spirit in the back of throat. I most certainly will come back to try a different dish
This place is pretty awesome. Highly recommend the burger - one of the best I've ever had (tied with Inga's Bar for me). The side mushrooms are also ridiculously good, and most other tings we've had have been good as well (although we thought the chicken entree was not worth getting again). Great ambiance. It can be hard to get in but you can typically walk in and get seats at the bar for a short wait.
This was my first time here and let me just say it was simply amazing!! Our waiter Eric was so incredibly attentive as well as great at giving suggestions for us if we weren’t sure what to drink. We tried their new pistachio cocktail and it was delicious! The appetizers were amazing we tried the lobster orzo, kale salad, and croquets!!! For our entree we got the burger and steak which was also to die for. The real star of the show for me was the delicious desserts!! We tried all 3 but our absolute favorite was the french toast!!! 10/10 experience and will 100% be coming back.

Very flavorful and melty burger. Good cider. Nice atmosphere. Gets busy in the evening. I saw the burger in a top 10 list and it definitely belonged there. Unique, airy bun. Great sauces. Could be larger, but very good burger
A Gastronomic Delight with a Side of Caution Swoony’s is a testament to the adage that new entrants can indeed make a lasting impression in the culinary world. My experience at this charming new spot was a blend of highs and a notable low. The service was a standout, particularly our Eastern European server, whose enthusiasm for the menu was both infectious and heartwarming. She had a unique ability to make every dish sound irresistible, lighting up with each recommendation. It's rare to encounter someone whose love for their work translates so beautifully into the dining experience. The food at Swoony’s was nothing short of exceptional. From the creative mocktails and cocktails to the delectable dishes, each course was a culinary masterpiece. The fish with tomatoes and clams was the highlight, winning over our table with its perfect blend of flavors. The killer clams, nom nom salad, and perfectly cooked steak were all testaments to the kitchen's prowess. However, our seating situation put a damper on the evening. We were placed in the last booth, which faced the bathroom. This meant a constant view of the toilet and the stream of people using it, which was less than appetizing. It's a significant oversight in an otherwise impeccably designed space. A simple fix like a curtain would work wonders in preserving the ambiance for guests seated in this spot. The vibe of Swoony’s is undeniably sexy and inviting, with music that perfectly complements the atmosphere. This place has the potential to be a regular haunt for us, but we'll be explicit about our seating preference in the future to avoid a repeat of the bathroom view. In summary, Swoony’s offers a memorable experience with its top-notch service, exquisite food, and lively atmosphere. Just be cautious about where you're seated, and you're in for a delightful time. 🍸🍽️🎶
Such a delightful place for dinner. The service and the atmosphere are impeccable. But importantly the food — wonderful on almost all fronts — but not quite the hit for hit that I was expecting given the hype. The burger was smashing. Zero complaints. And I enjoyed the lobster orzo way more than I thought I would; truly lobster in every bite. The short rib could use some tweaking though — it was far too small for an entree portion and the au poivre just wasn’t that flavorful. More like a simple gravy than a spicy black pepper sauce. The wine selection is perfect. Seriously, order as many bottles as you can. And the French toast desert is OFF THE CHARTS. And I’m not a dessert person! So overall, a gem of a neighborhood spot. Not necessarily something I’d run to travel to, but something that feels like home once you’re there.
Burger was good, even took on home! Drinks were mhm.
Got the burger it was bomb really juicy double patty went crazy fries were elite. Quick martini and the potato croquettes for appetizer also went hard. Vibes inside were cool. I’m a big guy the chair and table felt a bit small.
The atmosphere here is awesome! The burger is easily one of the best I have ever had. The cocktails were good too. The only problem was the slow service. We waited more than 20 minutes for our drinks. I will be back for the burger
The burger and service were wonderful! The fries that came with the burger needed more seasoning. We ordered the potato croquettes to start. The parm on top was delish but the texture of the potato was mealy and strange. Not super flavorful either. Could have used a little truffle or something. Loved the burger though and the sauce on it!
Food was delicious! We made a reservation ahead of time so there was no issue with waiting. The atmosphere was a little loud, so I would not recommend coming here to catch up or have a lot of conversation. Although we came on a Thursday night, so it may have just been a louder crowd/vibe. We split the - whipped goat cheese (which was a surprise table favorite) -lobster risotto (delicious) - brussels sprout (they were good but wouldn't come here for them) Two of three had the burger and they couldn't say enough good things about it. They were also extremely stuffed and didn't touch their fries. I had the cod and it was ... perfection. There was a nice creamy sauce that didn't feel heavy and complimented the fish and cauliflower. The drinks were great! We also felt the prices were reasonable for all of the dishes and drinks!
Burger was good but not amazing. Short rib su louvre was good but fries were t the best side for the dish. The lobster orzo was surprisingly underseasoned. Our server was super friendly.
7/2/24 I thought the staff was polite I loved the lobster orzo, the burger was well cooked and the bun was unique to me but made sense. I didn’t care for the French toast dessert I wanted to like it. it literally tasted like a burnt piece of toast with cinnamon on, I wish when I told My waitress she would’ve attempted to rectify that for me that was my only gripe. It was my birthday they brought out a cute prop cake that was a nice touch. I would return and also recommend to others.
Burger was not about that hype. Atmosphere is cool. Lobster orzo, grilled prawn, squash risotto, mushrooms in that order - all good, none exceptional.
Okay this place is a MUST TRY ! I don’t usually trust TikTok anymore I feel like they hype up a place and the food is mid. However this place is not the case the food is spot on. Lobster orzo: I WILL be returning. MUST GET The burger:MUST GET. It’s like a upscale version of a Big Mac Clams: it’s good but not the best Deviled eggs: I would skip French toast with ice cream: LOVE LOVE! MUST GET ! We sat at the bar our sever name is Nicholas and he was great! He made the whole experience amazing ! Overall I will be returning !

How refreshing. A cool, comfortable restaurant serving delicious, well made food in a nice atmosphere served by thoughtful, good natured staff without all the posturing and attitude. Burgers and fries were top of class, salad, goat cheese super tasty, and they were very kind about birthday dessert request. Just a great, reliable go-to spot to escape life’s daily hassles.

Our guests from the city enjoyed their dinner. The had the mussels, potato croquettes and the goat cheese We liked the wedge salad and the tuna tartare looked messy but tasted fine. The croquettes which were kinda dry inside. The Dorade with the Manhattan clam chowder was a great idea and the fish was perfectly cooked but the flavor of the chowder was really bland. My mom thought her Crab Louie was well presented but fell flat taste wise. She also had the clams casino and said they were very bready. The place is very loud. Very busy. The server was very friendly, efficient and we appreciated they didn't ask us to leave even though we were only given the table for a limited time.
Incredible food was eclipsed by neglectful service. Multiple cocktails were forgotten and the water carafe was often bone dry. It was hard to find our server when she was needed. The most abrasive piece was that she prompted us to order food before our fourth cocktail had arrived, despite that delay being an oversight on the part of the bartender, suggesting she cared more about the timeline than the guest experience. I am hopeful that service rhythm improves over time, because I would love to return for the delicious food (in particular the clams, white beans, chicken, and Brussels sprouts) and the warm atmosphere.
We sat outdoors and were comfortable, the food was prompt, and tasty! My biggest feedback is solely on the waiters dryness, you can tell he takes no delight in his job. He was unpleasant and cold. I’ve waited to eat here for a while and feel let down. If you charge over $30 for a burger and fries, you need to have service to match.
Came here by the recommendation to try their Swoony's Burger, and unfortunately wasn't impressed or satisfied. While the portion was quite generous, the burger itself seemed bland and dry. The service was good and pleasant though: we had a birthday in our party, and the waitress was kind to bring the complimentary soft serve. Maybe will consider coming to try other menu positions, but not in the foreseeable future.
Truly perplexed by the number of rave reviews for this place. It is solidly mid perhaps below. Way too expensive for the portion sizes like $16 for a schmear of goat cheese feels unreasonable. And everything needed more seasoning—it was truly the most bland food. The burger was equivalent to a 7th street burger which you can get for half the price. The lobster orzo needed to be way more creamy. And the short rib tasted just like pot roast.
Entirely disappointing! The service was terrible, food bland, unimaginative, and poorly executed. I was so excited to try this restaurant, particularly for their burger and lobster orzo. The burger lacked any originality and texture, resulting in a pulpy Big Mac sensation, whilst the lobster orzo tasted fine, was too watery and lacked any richness and depth of flavour.
We decided to try with friends. The menu is small and food is ok. My wife's steak was very salty. Wedge salad was watery. Short ribs were ok. Our big compiant was the noise level in the restaurant, we could not even hear the waitress tell us the specials or hear her explain any of the dishes. We couldnt hear ourselves and couldnt have a conversation. We had asked for after dinner drinks and the waiter did not know the brand of liguor we were drinking. Space and tables are really tight and small. Lighting was insufficient to say the least. They rushed us out by asking for dessert or anything else. We would not recommend or return. Many other choices in the area with better service and atmosphere.
Some dishes were tasty (crab toast and kale salad), but the mussels were inedible and, more importantly, the service was really rough. Barely paid attention to us the whole evening. And when we asked how the mussels were before ordering our server said, “I don’t eat mussels but I heard they’re good”. I guess we should have known better before ordering. Also, there’s a weird bridge and tunnel vibe (no one is local) that mad for an odd experience. Very disappointed overall.
Nice atmosphere. I ordered the fei mussels. Provided mainly shells without any mussels within. Nearly any pasta on platter. the service of the servers are great excellent atmosphere but should have provided better food preparation. Food was good but not as expected.
Please open your eyes and not just your mouth. The Burger here is horrible, comparable to MCD's in flavor and texture. The rest one appetizer after another already prepared and reheated. Loveless food for the sake of doing business, like the rest of the award-winning firm's other establishments (for newspapers only). Only the cocktails make sense.
