Small, efficient, and consistently great. The space is clean and welcoming, with a pleasant environment if you choose to dine in. Orders always come out quickly, and even when they’re busy, everything runs smoothly. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is always friendly and welcoming. A reliable go-to spot for great tacos!
Recently visited, their newest location in the financial district, now I’m back! Trying out the original location in downtown bk after a nets game. Vibes are great. Food is even better. Sick location for such sick food. Before and after games/events. You get to sit down and listen to great music and enjoy eating in a clean establishment. Tacos del barrio is a game changer for sure. Recommend to everyone!
This taco spot is an absolute gem! The food is always fresh and full of flavor, and the customer service is second to none. The staff go out of their way to make sure you have a great experience, and what really sets them apart is how much freedom they give you to customize your order. Unlike the big chain places that churn out the same thing every time, here you can truly make each taco your own. Highly recommend for anyone who loves quality, personalized, and delicious food! 🌮
This is the taco place I have been waiting for! The tacos had amazingly fresh and delicious corn tortillas. I ordered the chips and guacamole- excellent and perfectly fresh and flavorful all around (and plentiful!) Elotes (Corn Ribs): ive never had elote in this form before and they were super tasty, sweet and juicy, and the seasonings were perfectly spicy and creamy. Definitely will need to get again Tacos (fried fish, carne, carne asada, and mushroom taco): these tacos, with all the onions and cilantro and sauces, delicious and flavorful. I wish I lived closer- if I did I would definitely get food from here weekly. This is your sign to choose Tacos Del Barrio (and the owner is super nice!)
Tacos Del Barrio for the win! Great addition to the area. I went twice in two days because it was so good. The pastor tacos are bomb, the chicken tacos are great, steak was delicious and very tender, and the fish taco was also a hit. Our friends loved their shrimp quesadilla (I didn’t try a bite but it looked very tasty and I’ll try it soon). Staff is super friendly. Can’t wait to eat the rest of the menu!
Tacos del Barrio is a 10/10 😋💛 I had the Al Pastor, Birria, and the Pescado taco (my fave 🐟), plus a loaded chicken burrito that did not miss. The mushroom veggie bowl is a great meatless option, and you can add any protein! ✨Don’t skip their iconic avocado crema and chipotle sauces—they take everything up a notch. But the real star? The corn ribs 🌽 Imagine broken elote, sweet, savory, smoky—delicious. Trust me, you’ll leave full + happy. Tell them Butter on a Roll sent you 🧈🥖
Aiden was very hospitable and the food was amazing. I used to eat at Moe’s all the time and it has nothing on this place the food is fresh and the burrito was bigger than Moe’s and I actually finished this one that’s how amazing the food is. Overall this place deserves more than 5 stars ⭐️
Tacos del Barrio is hands-down one of the BEST Mexican spots in NYC! 🌮🔥 Every time we come here, the food blows us away. The corn ribs are absolutely life-changing perfectly seasoned, crispy on the outside, tender inside, and bursting with flavor. You can’t find these just anywhere, and trust me, you’ll be craving them after the first bite. Everyone talks about the tacos here (and yes, they’re amazing — fresh tortillas, juicy meats, and bold flavors), but don’t sleep on the flautas! They come with all the works lettuce, crema, salsa and are so flavorful and filling. To wash it all down, you HAVE to try their agua frescas. The agua de jamaica is perfectly balanced not too sweet, with that refreshing hibiscus tang that pairs beautifully with everything on the menu. The atmosphere is welcoming, the portions are generous, and the flavors are unforgettable.
Tacos Del Barrio brings the taste of Mexico, heat and flavor to the Brooklyn Taco Scene! I've been eagerly awaiting a really standout taco spot in Brooklyn and I'm thrilled to say Tacos Del Barrio has absolutely delivered! From the moment you step in, the vibrant decor and lively atmosphere promise a good time, and the food more than lives up to that promise.
Came late afternoon on Saturday and it was busy, rightfully so! Aiden was there and rung me up. The fish taco paired perfectly with their sauces. I took mine home, so it got a bit soggy from travel, but had I eaten it on the spot, it would've been better. The fish portion was a bit smaller than I expected, but still good. The corn ribs were FIREEE and I thoroughly enjoyed them in the comfort of my home lol Only overall con was the wait time. I waited ~25 min for my order to be ready. They make everyone's orders in order, which is good and bad, but hopefully it'll be improved overtime.
Can’t comment on atmosphere because I haven’t physically been there YET but we ordered for a work event and not only was the food delivered before time, it was still warm, and packed neatly. They provided tons of fixings (cilantro, onions, sauce, lime…everything other restaurants skimp on) and adequate utensils! Everything was amazing! I think we ordered every taco tray possible so I can’t even say which was my favorite. They were all delicious and let’s just say, that Mexican street corn was better than the ones in Mexico! Literally ate a whole tray of them! They’re juicy, seasoned just right and fun sized! I would absolutely order from them again and will definitely visit the venue sometime in the near future…
This is a fast casual taco spot in downtown Brooklyn. Similar to the ones in the city but they’re switching it up a little. The atmosphere is set up nice. They have indoor and outdoor dining. The menu has a good variety of options to choose from. I got the birria, fish, steak, and pork tacos. The corn ribs are a must. Jarritos for the Bev. They make all the tortillas fresh in house. The meats were cut up nice and cooked well. The birria tacos had a crispy layer of cheese and if you buy 3 you get FREE consome. I’m not a big fan of fish tacos but these were pretty good the fish was soft and crispy. The tacos were good overall. The corn ribs??? It was my first time trying corn ribs and they are FIRE. The sauce and toppings are really good. Can’t go wrong with the Jarritos. I ended it off with the tres leches and I was impressed. I got the strawberry. That small cup was just right. It had a good amount of sweetness and milky flavors. Thank you so much to Aiden. He’s only 18 years old and is doing amazing things with this taco shop. Service is good here.
I was excited to try out food from here especially that I love tacos and Mexican food. I decided to bring my family with me. The place is nice and bright and clean. What really stands out here for me aside from the delicious food is the owner. He was at the register taking orders. He such a polite and humble young man, very professional. You can really tell he is passionate about what he does. I was able to try the Elote (corn ribs) and the shrimp taco. The corn ribs were delicious. It has just the right amount of seasoning and cheese on top. The shrimp taco tasted delicious. The shrimps were a descent size, nicely breaded. I like how you have the option of choosing corn or flour tortilla. We ordered Carne Asada Nachos, Chicken with Cheese Quesadilla, Shrimp Quesadilla, Birria Tacos. FYI if you order three Birria Tacos you get a free consome. The Carne Asada Nachos were filling. The Carne Asada is flavorful and tender. The guacamole on the nachos was really good. The nachos was packed with flavor. The chicken quesadilla was delicious. The meat was full off flavor. Birria tacos was good. It has its unique flavor a little more on the sweet side than what I'm used to, but still a solid taco. The shrimp quesadilla is delicious. Overall my favorite had to be the Corn Ribs, Carne Asada Nachos and the shrimp. The Salsa Roja and Avocado Sauce are both delicious. My only suggestion is to double up on the tortilla since they break easily with all the protein and sauce on it. I will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the items on the menu. Wishing the owner Aiden great success.
This new spot? Oh, it's a hoot! The food is so good it'll make you wanna slap yo' mama (don't actually do that, though). But listen, if you get a taco, for the love of all that is holy, remember the sauce! I had a taco so dry it practically turned to dust in my mouth. My bad, I know, but learn from my mistakes, people! The place itself is, shall we say, "cozy." And by "cozy," I mean it's smaller than my walk-in closet, which makes the line look like a confused game of human Tetris. Seriously, nobody knows where to stand! But let me tell you, the service? Top-notch! They're probably used to the chaos, bless their hearts. I went with a bowl and a taco, and they were both solid contenders in the deliciousness department. But then I saw someone walk by with a burrito, and good grief, it was the size of a newborn baby! They clearly don't believe in holding back. So if you're feeling ambitious (or just really, really hungry), aim for the burrito – you won't be disappointed!
We came in and ordered via the kiosk. Apparently some that were ordering had been waiting upwards of an hour!! Since we were late to the game, when hearing of this we stepped up to the counter to inquire about our order. One of the staff members accelerated our order and we were able to dine in within a timely fashion. The tacos can be customized for flour vs corn, and are homemade! The portion of meat to the taco was almost half of the tortilla so it felt really skimpy. Order by best to worst: birria > el pastor > fish > carne The birria had such a dynamic flavor and savory bite. I wish we ordered the consume because I’m sure it would’ve made it even better! The el pastor had a lot of flavor but kinda dry. The fish was fried to perfection but could not be good without sauces. The carne was straight up meh since it was small bites of dry meat. The side sauces were amazing. Elote corn was FIRE with a loaded seasoning and flavor. No bathroom on site.
Decent quick bite. Not Oaxaca or Cali but okay for a NY fix. A little larger than the typical hand-sized tacos. The AL Pastor and Pollo Asado both have good flavor. Could use a kiss more salt but still flavorful bites. The Elote Ribs were hard, as in an unripe Corn. The corn lacked sweetness or corniness. They were dusted with Chipotle and Cotija & could've used more cheese. The Salsa Verde and Sour Cream for the Chicken Quesadilla was DELISH!! The Salsa Verde is blended smooth, great flavor but prefer a chunkier Salsa. The Sour Cream was VERY tangy and scrumptious. Service was quick and friendly. Slim to No Parking so take public transpo.
This place was good I had the steak tacos, they tasted fresh and the kitchen was super clean. The staff was friendly and I was happy to see that there was seating however it didn’t seem as if they fully utilized the space, I feel like they could add more seating and spruce up the atmosphere a little bit more. Also o feel like the food is a bit pricey here, expect around 5-6 dollars per taco
