Opinions de Tanoshii Brooklyn
Quick, respectful staff, and absolutely delicious ramen. Both the broth and the noodles taste high quality. Absolutely recommend
TLDR - fantastic food, service, and vibes. Noodles are slightly less al dente which is perfect Broth is not as greasy and felt clean yet savory. Great music - not so loud but able to enjoy conversations
The chicken wings are insanely good, perfectly crispy on the outside, bursting with flavor, and incredibly moist and tender on the inside. A must-order. The tonkotsu ramen itself was also excellent. I loved the variety of toppings and how fresh everything tasted. The broth had that perfect umami balance, rich, savory, and not overly salty. To top it off, the service was fantastic and the restaurant was spotless. Can’t wait to come back and try more of the menu. 🍜✨
Hostess and Head Chef were very friendly and welcomed our party of 5. I always walked by here but finally a an Tonkatsu Ramen Low sodium option. With Takoyaki. 9$ Takoyaki is bit steep, but delicious. Definitely stopping by again should I have a Ramen mood. Place is small, so either come early or make reservations. Had a wonderful time.
We were in bay ridge visiting our son that just moved there. We stopped here for some ramen. It was delicious!! We went to Japan last year and I have been missing authentic ramen. I am so glad we stopped by this place. It is so good. I can’t wait to come back when I visit on December. Stop by if you’re in the neighborhood, you won’t be disappointed. It’s amazing.
Tanoshi Ramen is one of those places that makes you feel like you’ve stumbled upon something special — not just because of the food, but because of the people. We first visited last year and were immediately struck by how kind and welcoming the team was. There’s a warmth to this spot that makes you want to keep coming back — and the food absolutely seals the deal. The ramen is phenomenal. You can tell it’s homemade — rich, soulful, and made with love. My husband is obsessed with the Spicy TanTan Ramen (he’s had it more than once!), and I always go for the Spicy Tonkotsu. Both are deeply flavorful and comforting, with the TanTan especially reminding us of great Sichuan flavors. But the real surprise star? The wings. Quite possibly the best wings we’ve had in NYC — juicy, perfectly seasoned, flavorful without being over-the-top. They’re unforgettable in the simplest, best way. (I admit I have ordered just the wings via delivery because that’s what I was craving and they are THAT good!) Tanoshi is one of those rare spots that feels both homey and special. We’re lucky to have it.
I've literally been thinking about going back since my friend took me here a few weeks ago. Ramen was absolutely phenomenal. The broth was so rich and creamy. I got my soup spicy and it actually had a little kick. Plenty of meat in the ramen and their marinated eggs are delicious. I left stuffed. The price is decent too
Love that they have a smaller, more curated menu because that's how you know they've perfected and are confident in everything they offer. I recently went with my husband and brother, and we shared a takoyaki (which was as good as we remember from Osaka!) and we each ordered different ramens to try. I had the spicy miso (photo attached) and it was absolutely delicious. Hands down the best ramen I've had in a long time. My family enjoyed their ramen as well. The waitress (I think she's the owner?) was also so sweet, friendly and very attentive the entire time we were there. I rarely take the time to write reviews but this restaurant totally deserves it. Already looking forward to going again! Highly recommend!
The quality control of this ramen spot is insanely good. They don't have a very big menu, they have very minimal stuff but I guarantee you, that is all you need. The ramen will fill you right up, the meat quality is good, ramen doneness is just right. You can add additional toppings if you want, which is what I did. I can't seem to find any other place that taste better than the ramen here.
Loved the Chicken Bone ramen ,would highly recommend it . It was tasty flavourful and just enough spice (we took the extra spicy one ) It was enough for two people.
The restaurant is located in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. They prepare Japanese cuisine and the menu is limited to ramen bowl entrees, appetizers and beverages. I ordered the miso ramen bowl which is made with pork bone miso broth, yellow curly noodles, cabbage, corn, scallion, egg and roasted pork. The chicken bone ramen is made with chicken broth, sesame garlic base, white thin noodles, bamboo shoots, mushrooms, scallion, egg and steamed chicken. The ramen bowls contained no bones. Both bowls were very good and a nice portion. The shrimp bun appetizer is made with coconut shrimp, pickled onion, cabbage and mayonnaise. It was good but small. The takoyaki appetizer is a deep fried wheat cake with octopus, scallion and bonito flake. The crispy brussel sprouts appetizer is fried with jalapeno peppers, peanuts and fish sauce. This appetizer is spicy. Friendly and helpful staff.
Tanoshii Ramen Tonkotsu Ramen - $14.00 Pork Buns - $5 Total - $20 and change (I keep forgetting to take a photo of the receipt 🤦♂️). Broth - 4/5. Really fatty, lacks creaminess, and too much fat/oil (is that even possible?). Didn’t dare to finish drinking it because it definitely felt like I would clog up my arteries. Cha shu - 5/5. Thick fatty cut. It had a very deep soy sauce flavor infused in the lean part of the meat. Definitely really delicious. Noodles - 3/5. Thin noodles. While I could’ve customized the ramen, I wanted to order it as is. It was too soft and didn’t have the firm, bouncy bite I wanted. Side note - The egg in the ramen also had a very deep soy flavor.
I wish Google had half star ratings because this would be a 3 1/2 star rating. I came in the afternoon rush and was seated right away. We ordered the sliced pork spicy ramen and an appetizer of pork buns. The pork buns were the BEST but I’ve have had better ramen broth in other places. The ramen was ok and the service was good. I definitely will come back for those pork buns!
Yes the miso spicy ramen is half finished(in hopes that it would be good but turns out it wasn’t)but at that point our tongues got completely asleep since the ramen had overboard ginger flavor in the ramen, which we had told the waitress but he claims it’s “spicy” since when ginger flavor is considered spicy?😂. After I respectfully confronted my dissatisfaction,he rudely immediately gave me the check and left. The chef told us that’s all they have to offer. This is only the worst ramen place I ever tried,do better
Response to their reply: They are the ONLY “Japanese”ramen restaurant charges $6 for the broth because they are NOT an authentic Japanese ramen place BUT a cheap Chinese noodle shop! You know what the soup is not freshly made but the instant reheated pouch soup, so they have to charge!!! The picture was taken at your place BUT the review was written after I tried it!!! These cheap Chinese noodles aren’t going to lie about their taste, trust me! Original post: Terrible service and foods!!! It tastes like 🤮 It’s $16 plus, not worth it!! Not authentic Ramen BUT Cheap Chinese noodles!!!
