I was in Coney Island avenue Midwood area on and I happen to come upon Texas fried Chicken and burgers. It's no longer located in crown heights so when I went in to order my three-piece spicy chicken I was not disappointed. The spices license flavor with the crispiness of the chicken was a well-deserved treat. I enjoyed it, their original taste.
These chickens are seasoned properly and they are fried to a perfect standard. I can always count on Tex chicken to maintain their standard and taste.
TL;DR: This place serves great fried chicken and is open nice and late. Get the bone-in legs and thighs and you'll leave happy 😊. This is one of my go to spots to smash late night cravings. It's about time I write a detailed review. I've only been here late at night, so I don’t know what it's like while the sun is up, but I like this place! They close super late (3:30am iirc) which is totally up my alley. The service is fast and you can order on a kiosk or at the counter (I like the kiosk). For some reason when I'm there extra late the kiosk doesn't seem to print my receipt, but whatever. As for the food, here's my thoughts: I would definitely recommend the fried chicken over the burgers. Especially the bone-in legs and thighs! The meat is consistently juicy and tender, and the breading is always crispy and flavorful. I like the spicy version better than the plain but either way is great. The breast meat tends to be a tad dry but it's still pretty good. If you like boneless, the tenders are HUGE. I'm assuming they either get massive tenders and butterfly them before breading or just use entire chicken cutlets because I've never seen tenders that big. Sadly I forgot to take a picture when I got them so you'll just have to trust me on this one. Unfortunately though the tenders don’t measure up flavor and moisture wise to the bone-in, so I'd still recommend going for the bone-in. The chicken always comes with a biscuit too, which varies in quality. Usually the biscuit is awesome: flaky, buttery, and crispy, but sometimes it can be a bit dry. It's definitely still a nice addition though. As for the burgers, they're decent. I don’t have any major complaints about them but they're nothing spectacular either imo. They're reasonably flavorful and juicy. If you're gonna get a burger I would recommend the double cheeseburger without beef bacon. The single burger has too much bread relative to the amount of meat imo, so the double strikes a better balance. As for the bacon, this place is halal so they only serve beef bacon. For me it doesn't hit quite the same as regular bacon, it's flavorful but a bit chewy. But if you keep halal then maybe it's for you. Either way the burgers aren't a bad choice by any means, I just think the chicken is the real star of the show here. Their sauce game could use some improvement. Most of the sauces come from a packet and honestly aren't that great in my opinion. I'd say my favorites here are the Hell Sauce and the ranch. The hell sauce is genuinely spicy, but if you can appreciate a kick it's also nicely flavorful. I have yet to try the secret sauce, but something tells me it's one of the better ones so I'll go for it next time. I do wish they had buffalo sauce here too, but maybe I'm just biased bc I love buffalo with fried chicken. Anyways that's my way too long review! I'll definitely be back here. I often find myself craving their chicken and I love that they're open so late!
I’ve been coming here on and off for years and usually get the Hell Burger. I started getting the 2 for $7 Cod Father fish sandwiches and got hooked. They’re way better than the McDonald’s fish filet and Big Alaskan at Burger King. Very tender and flaky and you can tell it’s fresh. Also, the strawberry lemonade and mango lemonade Refreshers are delicious and only $1.99. Junaid and Omari took good care of me. Great customer service! *Edit: the 2 for $7 fish sandwiches are gone so I’ve been getting the 4 for $5. 2 drumsticks, a thigh and biscuit for $5. Very crispy and tasty chicken. I prefer it over KFC and Popeyes any day. Dave’s Hot Chicken is still the best though but there aren’t any around here.
Came in on a somewhat hot night the place was really cool inside kept me nice and cold. The customer service from israt and sadia made my night. super nice and calm. help me order way quicker and easier.

Listen. I don’t know what kind of mad culinary scientist was locked in a lab with a chicken, some lava, and a dream—but give that person a raise, a crown, and possibly custody of my tastebuds. The Fiery Chicken Sandwich isn’t just food. It’s a religious experience. First bite? Tongue went, “OH OKAY, SO WE’RE DOING THIS.” Second bite? My eyes rolled so far back I saw my ancestors doing a standing ovation. The crunch? Immaculate. The spice level? Somewhere between “mmm that’s hot” and “call the fire department, my esophagus is holding a protest.” But you will go back for more. That sauce? Probably made from the tears of angels and crushed-up dreams of bland sandwiches that wish they could be this iconic. And here’s the kicker: it’s limited. Excuse me? Limited? No. No ma’am. No sir. This sandwich needs a permanent spot on the menu, a throne, and maybe its own holiday. I don’t care if you have to fight a dragon for more of that fiery seasoning—DO IT. Final verdict: 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️/5 Would fight a bear, write a petition, and possibly cry in public just to keep this spicy miracle in my life. KEEP. IT. FOREVER.
The best fried chicken in town. My father loves their fried chicken, he don’t want Popeyes or KFC. SMH, LOL. BTW, the lady here name Shama. She is the best!!!!! 👍🏼
Grabbed a quick bite at Tex's Chicken & Burgers the other night and it was pretty solid overall. Went for the 2-piece fried chicken meal with fries and a biscuit — the chicken came out super crispy on the outside and juicy inside, with good seasoning (I got the spicy version and it had a nice kick without being overwhelming). The fries were hot and fresh too. Also tried a bite of the Classic Chicken Sandwich from my friend's order — breading was on point and the bun held up well.

The food was very standard. Temp wasn't fresh as in hot the heat lamp kept it warm. Parking is a pain in this area, so pick up and go is the move. Service was fine and the building was clean.

I visited this restaurant on Christmas night, and it was extremely busy, as expected. However, the experience was far from what I hoped for. The staff seemed overwhelmed, and there was no proper management in place to handle the rush. As the night went on, I witnessed several workers arguing and blaming each other for mismanaging orders. It was chaotic, and the lack of coordination really affected the overall service. Orders were delayed, and there was no clear communication, which only made the situation worse. It was clear that the team was under a lot of pressure, but it was disappointing to see them unable to handle it effectively, especially on such a busy night. I understand it was a hectic time, but better management and teamwork would have made a huge difference. I hope the restaurant can improve its organization for future busy nights.
These guys have amazing chicken hands down. Out of all the Tex's Chicken & Burger chain their chicken truly is the best. The reason why I gave them 2 stars because the staff absolutely sucks when it comes to filling orders. On 7 different occasions they have messed up my order and missed either fries, nuggets or chicken. My father loves to bring all the grandkids and buy chicken from here. Mind this we come all the way from Statens Island so we can't go back to complain either and get our refund. When we tried calling multiple times they didnt always pick up either. If you get food from them make sure you check the order everytime because 9 out of 10 times, they'll mess up. At this point it's not even a nuisance anymore it's just aggravating.

I visited this location at 1000 Coney Island Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11230 on February 1, 2026. I placed my order at 1:04 PM and was told the wait time would be 10 minutes. I did not receive my order until 1:34 PM, despite there being only three customers ahead of me. During this time, there were unsupervised minors inside the restaurant, including a child riding a large electric scooter inside the store, creating an obvious safety issue. No staff or management took action or addressed the situation. The delay, lack of supervision, and complete absence of management response reflect poor operations and disregard for customer safety. This experience was unacceptable.
You guys need help in customer service department because the workers are barely able to communicate with customers and nobody ever picks up the call when the restaurant is called during the operating hours. Quality of food went down compared to when first opened. I guess they make too much money to care about their customers.
I don’t even understand why cashiers girls don’t want to work full of make up on their faces and using phone and don’t even care for the take out orders really bad service . manager should teach them.
The pieces weren’t big enough or didn’t even give us sauce or anything and they also didn’t include the buns even though they said they will like the pieces there was tenders in there. There was like four or five pieces of tender we ordered nine pieces.

I love their food but hate that they always forget a part of my order. First, when I order a family fest and a sandwich with fries, they forgot my fries that I paid for. Their food tastes amazing but their service and customer service is bad. If you do buy from Tex’s, double check you have everything you ordered!!!
These people are very unprofessional. I ordered from them via Ubereats. They gave MY ORDER to another driver, and refused to make my order again to give to my driver. How is that even allowed?? Your employees made a mistake and you refuse to correct it? I live in the neighborhood and I will be telling everyone to stay away from this place.
Israt is very rude. We forgive her and over and over for messing up. Last time she gave us black chicken, we forgave her as we live in the neighborhood. But today she was extremely rude, Sadia was nice, the chef was nice but this girl always has an attitude. Who hired her? She makes you guys look bad. Horrible employee.
They called out the number, as I am going to the counter I see someone already digging through the bags…Gross. They then took the order and left, No receipt checking??? When I told the employee, Israt, what happened she laughed and told me I should’ve said something to stop him because now they have to remake it. Excuse me? I am a customer, They are responsible for making sure the food gets to the right person.I also did not want a bag in which someone had dug their hands in. The chef told her to be quiet and it’s fine, just to remake it. She then said thank you and slammed my receipt showing attitude…excuse you. You messed up not me. When I sat down she started speaking loudly about me in Urdu as if I do not understand. She has no respect for customers and must learn manners. I have sat in the place for a long time waiting for my food just for it to get taken and when I address it, I am met with attitude. I was also planning on sitting in house and eating but her attitude is unbareable and made me want to leave.
I purchased 9 burgers today and out of 9 I had 3 that were burnt so badly that you don't even want to feed them to your worst enemy. My question is for the manager of this place. Is this how you serve your customers? Do your employees take a glimpse at the food before packing to see if it's worth packing? I had to take this order to someone's place and I saw these burnt burgers after I arrived at my destination which was a 40 min drive. Just take a look at this picture and tell me if you will ever eat something like this or let your family eat this?
