Opinions de Winfield's Brooklyn
Best tasting diner food of all time. Not a debate. Also, get the milkshakes I promise. This is the vegan griddle stack + chocolate milk shake (post many sips)
Excellent place with delicious food and a wonderful atmosphere. I loved the old school feel and decorating.
Traveled to Brooklyn to visit a friend. This diner is only 3 blocks from his place. This will be a new "do not miss" when I travel to see him or send others to Brooklyn. The food and selection was excellent. The service could not have been better either. This is a true gem in the Stuyvesant Neighborhood. Don't miss it!!
10’s across the board!!! From the welcoming service to the tasty food I have no complaints. My boyfriend went here by himself and had to bring me back the next day because he was that impressed. I’m so glad we came, I’ve been craving pancakes and it was honestly the best pancake I’ve ever had. That does not negate the fact that every side dish we ordered was outstanding as well. The staff was very accommodating and friendly to us and we even got a chance to meet the owner. I’m wishing them nothing but the best and prosperity for this amazing restaurant.
I moved to Bed Stuy in the middle of 2023 and only one week ago did I step foot in here. I enjoyed everything that was put in front of me. The staff were super friendly, speedy, and the venue itself was very inviting. We sat outside since we were lucky and it was beautiful out. The loaded fries were very hearty and the mozzarella sticks were also delicious. I got a fried chicken sandwich and it was quite filling. Would recommend!
I was looking for a breakfast place in the neighborhood. We stumbled upon this diner. We were pleasantly surprised. The food was amazing…I’m still thinking about it. Super delicious and the atmosphere was welcoming and warm. Loved it.
The food is beyond amazing and the atmosphere is gorgeous. It’s homely and inviting and you never feel like you overstay your welcome. From Jeff the owner to Yani who’s always delightful and kass who is wonderful. Everyone is always helpful and nice. The music keeps you vibing and the food can’t be mentioned enough. A must have
Loved the food. Always crowded. You must wait 25 minutes or more on the weekends The food and service is good
Stopped for a quick breakfast and was pleasantly impressed. The place had a homey vibe, and the food was thoughtfully prepared. Every element on the plate was perfectly seasoned. The hash browns stood out: crispy, topped with soft bell peppers and fresh chives. Even the cold brew was solid. Definitely worth stopping by.
Very, very small diner with HUGE personality. Amazing service and delicious dining options. They even have vegan dishes. Breakfast all day. Outdoor seating on the back patio. Classic and retro decor. The chef actually came out to my table, greeted my party, apologized for the wait (which he didn't have to do because it was very busy), and comped one meal in my party. I highly recommend Good Ol Days!
Me and the wife went on a weekday. Great experience. The smash browns were awesome. Would dine there again.
The location is cute with a great backyard outside seating area. The menu is SO creative & fun. & The staff are not only sweet & kind, they're all very cool and aesthetic. My new fav local spot!
Mushroom chips were the best thing ever. I loved the vibes and service. I definitely will be going back with friends.
Perfect place to dine in! I go hear with my son whenever I get the chance to pick him up from school. It's become a regular thing we do. The atmosphere is very welcoming and so are the staff. The music is great, and I love the artwork they have decorated the place with. I highly recommend this place. You won't regret it.
We really love eating here. French toast is delicious, great vibe, and one of the few restaurants anywhere in NYC that open early (which is great for families with little ones like ours)
I discovered this gem while trying to locate a now closed black owned restaurant in the neighborhood. Hungry and and exhausted, I decided to try Good ' Ol Days. What a wonderful surprise to find out Good 'Ol Days is also black owned! The service was outstanding and the food yummy! Next time you're in Brooklyn stop by!
This restaurant is definitely a visit! Amazing atmosphere, wonderful and absolutely delicious food, and our server, Cassidy, was so sweet and genuinely helpful. If your black, this restaurant reminds me of family reunions vibe. From the music, to the molasses for the waffles, to the records on the wall. I’m often skeptical of some restaurants when they look good but this one also taste good. Definitely recommend.!!! UPDATE: we visited this restaurant again recently with a friend in town. During the weekday. I am not sure if there is a different Chef during the week, but I must admit we were not as satisfied with this visit. There was a different taste about the food as well as the fries were cold, and some items were overcooked. My chicken sandwich was moderate, though my sister and friends food had been overcooked giving impression that they threw it back in the grease to possibly reheat it multiple times. This is upsetting considering we were really looking for a routine restaurant to visit too often. We were excited to share a local favorite to a guest. Willing to visit one more time to see if it can be redeemed. ON A WEEKEND.
Food was really good. They took a long time to bring out our food but they were very accommodating due to this error. Servers are nice and chill. Good for a casual brunch. No alcoholic drinks but I like that. Mozzarella sticks were so good and crisp. The chicken sandwich was good. Overall solid food, would go again.
Stayed in NYC for a week with 3 friends and we came here two days in a row for breakfast because it was SO good. Service was excellent, and the second day (a Saturday morning) they even took half off our bill without us even asking because the wait took so long due to how busy they were. We really appreciated the kind gesture 🙏
So happy to have this spot in the neighborhood! We stopped in on a Sunday morning and were seated right away. It was just the one server but she was fast to bring us menus and crayons for our toddler to stay occupied. I ordered the Griddle Stack which was FANTASTIC! The food was pretty quick to come out - The pancakes were so fluffy and the potatoes had tomatoes and scallions on top which were a great touch. We also ordered the Avocado BLT which was great, and appreciated the bowl of milk and kids cup for our picky toddler who only wanted his Cheerios. Hoping to make this a regular breakfast stop
This establishment warrants high praise. The service is exceptionally warm and welcoming. The food is amazing. Furthermore, patronage supports a local, Black-owned business.
I LOVE everything about Winfield's. Steeped in Brooklyn history it offers a nostalgic ambiance and a diverse menu. When I walked in the first thing i noticed were the old photos of the neighborhood from the 80s and 90s. The classic diner fare, coupled with a touch of local flavor, creates a charming dining experience. The friendly staff and super chill vibes enhance the overall appeal. Overall, Winfield's Diner provides a delightful journey into Brooklyn's culinary and cultural past.
Randomly found this hidden gem & I seriously wanted to gatekeep. But they deserve their flowers fr!! I'm obsessed with their pancakes in the griddle stack combo!! And the smash browns???? CHEF'S KISS. I'm definitely going to start coming here more regularly. I love me a lil crispy crunchy moment and you get all of that and more with the smash browns. Cause they fry the smash browns with peppers. Then it's topped with tomatoes and green onions. Everything I've ever wanted in a bite! Seasonal depression? WHERE? Good Ol Days Diner healed my soul baby lmao
A perfect summer meal, thoughtfully plated and presented, great music being played (oldies & goodies), wonderful vibe from the team. Dog-friendly with the backyard. Pricing was spot on and equitable with good portions; we ordered two large dishes each (four total) and the bill was under 70 dollars which *never happens* these days. Great to see a place run by Bed-Stuy folks with an integrated clientele and a staff that is kind and thoughtful in an increasingly complex landscape for dining across Brooklyn.
Good old Days is a diner that delivers on its promise to take you back to simpler times. With a well done decor that sports cute items like vinly records and rotary telephones and meals that's are simple but absolutely delicious it's a place I'm eager to return to in the future. The waitress, Iyana(?) was kind and patient when helping me choose a meal, since I was stuck between multiple items that seemed tasty! And her recommendation was a 10/10. I'll be back for sure. 😌
I ordered for takeout and the food did not disappoint. The portions were great and the flavor was there. What impressed me the most was how kind the hostess was. Despite just placing an order to go, I still felt like she went above and beyond to make me feel welcomed. I will definitely be back. Thank you!
We got the avocado toast, the sausage griddle, and the Winfield (with side salad) on a Saturday afternoon. 5 stars all around. We had a 25 min wait. Staff were nice and welcoming. The sausage on the Griddle are links tho so if that matters to you, you’ve been warned. We are out of towners but will make this a regular stop in the future.
Winfield’r Diner is a wonderful new addition to the neighborhood. The staff could not have been more pleasant and kind. The food was fantastic, I had the THEBESTCHICKENSANDWICHYOUVEEVERHADINYOURLIFE and it lives up to the name. Also the price is fair and one of those rare places now that you truly feel was worth it. I'll be going back again and again.
It was my first time coming here and I got the bestchickensandwichyouvehadinyourlife which was solid. As a person who does not like/hate coleslaw I really enjoyed the jalapeños coleslaw and the sauce was so good. I absolutely love the fries, gotta be top 5 I've ever had. The people working there were friendly and I liked the way that it was decorated. I can't wait to try some more stuff on the menu!
Nice atmosphere with some GOOD FOOD! You must try the turkey chili and the spicy chicken sandwich. Another GOOD spot in Brooklyn! GREAT MUSIC also.
Absolutely amazing food! The service was Amazing! 10/10. The young lady who seated us, and took our order. was very kind and warm and welcoming.
Love this place so much! The food has all been on point - in my book, hash browns are the measure of a breakfast place or diner, and their smash browns are amazing! Crispy, flavorful, and they hit the spot every time. Super warm and friendly service. Hope they prosper here for a very long time 🙏🏼
Visiting friends in Brooklyn that suggested this place. A bit of a wait for our table but well worth it! Food was amazing, the staff was great and the music…so much fun!!!
Incredible, one of the best breakfasts you can get in Brooklyn. As someone from the south who has been a bit underwhelmed by the offerings in ny, good ol days diner always satisfies thoes cravings
Good Vibes at Good ol Days! I had the pleasure of checking out Good Ol Days diner during my last visit to Brooklyn. Its a cozy diner with a solid and creative menu. I had the breakfast plate which was scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast and your choice of protein(I had turkey bacon) Our server Dante was super chill and friendly and the food came out super fast and was so good and filling. Their hash browns are smashed tater tots which were so yummy. My aunt had the bestchickensandwich which she inhaled lol and said was delicious. There is also a super cute patio in back. I even met paul the local business owner “Peppa Paul” who supplies the restaurant with his own brand of hot sauce. I went on a Tuesday but I gotta come back to try the Brunch!
Amazing place! Been 3 times and was not disappointed once. The hash browns are the best things I’ve ever tasted and the griddle chick is so creative and delicious! Staff is amazing and anticipated all my needs, music and atmosphere is on point. They also have a lot of options for kids to enjoy; my baby had the silver dollar pancakes with strawberry whipped cream and couldn’t get enough. 10/10 would recommend again and again!
Food was great it was so nice to have seasoned diner food! and they have vegan sausage and bacon. Price is great for what you get too so I'll definitely go back.
Delicious food! A lot of vegan and gluten free options too which is nice for dining with friends with diet restrictions! The muffins are bomb 💣 cozy atmosphere inside too!
The food? AMAZING. The service? EXCEPTIONAL. The atmosphere? NOSTALGIC. The spiced apple cider?!??!?? TO DIE FOR. I don’t normally leave reviews, but this warranted it. This place is a must go. Don’t sleep on it, folks. And this ain’t A.I., this is a real Black man giving his full-chested opinion. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I have found my new neighborhood go-to breakfast spot and it’s all thanks to this incredible breakfast platter. The breakfast platter was never a dish I thought twice about. They usually just do the job but this one sets a new standard for me. The portions are perfect to where it’s filling but not overwhelming. The crispy hash topped with fresh salsa is what really does it for me. It is crispy, savory and fresh. Trust me! You’ve got to try it. Game changer.
It is small so you have to waitnto be seated and served. Although they had me wait a good 25 mins they did bring me corn bread to make up for it. Good local spot with fun 80's/90's decor.
Walking into this restaurant I was do warmly welcomed by the hostess Kasey The coffee was really superb. Kasey made some suggestions and they were spectacular The food was delicious the ambiance very cozy, but the washroom was like stepping into the 70s at disco ball as a light. It brought back a lot of memories. I really can’t say enough about this establishment, but they kill it with Service with a smile and you walk away totally satisfied Thank you Kasey
Come for the griddle stack, stay for the service! Delicious classics with a fun twist are served in this quaint 70s inspired diner that has a real neighborhood feel. Our server Kassidy was incredible and so sweet! Would highly recommend for any diner enthusiast or just someone looking for a quality meal. I’ll have to stop by to try their lunch/brunch options!
I am a loyal customer of Good Ol Days! ❤️💯🙌🏾 I’ve eaten their delicious food nothing less than 20+ times. Do yourself a favor and please don’t listen to folks who don’t know. 🙏🏽 It’s all about the senses and amazing, full bodied flavors you get when you come here! Some of my fave items are the mouth watering chopped cheese fries (get the add on jalapeños!) that are great with crumbled turkey or beef; the avocado blt, anything with the fish such as the Hart and Sole; and the pancakes. My teenage son gets the chicken tenders with fries or the Bedford Burger regularly and never complains that he’s still hungry. The table service always comes with a smile and positive energy despite the fast paced and jam packed brunch service. Please be patient on a weekend morning cause these folks really put their all into providing a warm, welcoming atmosphere and going the extra mile to meet your food preferences! I’m absolutely so grateful for a homey, neighborhood diner like Good Ol days. There’s honestly no other place in this restaurant category, that tastes this good! If you don’t like what they’ve got, then you just don’t like down home family style food period! 🤷🏽♀️
I came by on a Saturday and had a great time. The wait for a table was short considering the place was packed. Everyone I interacted with was very kind and welcoming. The menu was extensive, but not overwhelming and it was difficult to decide what to choose because everything sounded great. I tried a Saturday only special "The Bird is the Word" and it was the best Chicken and Waffles I've had in long time. This place feels like home and the food is good for the soul.
Yum!!! This place is so cute and the food absolutely hit the spot. I got a breakfast plate with bacon and shared the pancake. The pancake was out of this world! I’m going to definitely treat myself to that one again soon. :) The waitress was very attentive and sweet, so I have to say service was great. It is a small space but they make the most of it. When we came in early in the morning on a Wednesday it was empty but by the time we left, all the tables were full! That’s how you know it’s good. I can’t wait to go back!
Tucked away in a charming neighborhood between Bed-Stuy and Brownsville is this jewel of a place. Chili had just the right balance of flava, smoke, and heat. Fried mushrooms beat the pants off of typical fried appetizers. A real crispy umami bomb. They were playing heavy Motown. Don't know which was better, the food or the music. Worth an extended journey!
The Good Ol Days Diner, is a place you simply must visit. Do yourself a favor and pay this gem of a diner a visit. From start to finish, the entire experience was wonderful: • The food was great. • The service was great and very attentive. • The atmosphere was great, offering a comfortable and welcoming vibe. I almost forgot to mention a standout item: the mint lemonade was absolutely delicious!
I’ve had a chicken sandwich from here before that my roommate bought and brought home, but today was the first time in person and sat down to eat. I have to say, as someone who has eaten at many diners in the past 10 years, this is the best diner experience I have ever had. My roommate and I first had the mozzarella sticks which were amazing and they were paired with a delicious sauce that complimented it so well (do not remember what the sauce was called but it was not marinara). Then I had the Bedford Burger which was so tender and paired so well with onions, lettuce, tomato, and pickles. The tots were also perfect and crispy, yet soft on the inside. To drink, I had the Fort Greene Lemonade that my roommate kept telling me about. It was amazing and tasted so fresh; I enjoyed every sip. The service was good; our water was refilled each time we ran out even with the diner being completely full with customers. The ambiance was really nice and I truly enjoyed my experience. I would give everything I ate and drank a 10 out of 10 and I absolutely will be coming back AND telling more people about this place!
Had a serious pancake craving and decided to stop on by here for lunch. The pancake was delicious and satisfied my craving completely. The smash browns are definitely worth trying, alongside the chicken sandwich or whatever else you choose. Cozy and relaxed ambiance. This place is getting saved for my pancake cravings and/or try other things in their menu, whichever comes first.
I enjoy coming to this diner. A cute, small quant place to enjoy nice dining. They also have a patio in the back. I ordered their breakfast sandwich and homemade fries. And it was very delicious. I kept craving for more. The service was excellent and the staff there were very friendly. I definitely recommend groove at Good Ol Days Dinner. You won't be disappointed.
Visiting NYC and decided to stop here for some breakfast. It was a nice little spot with both indoor/ outdoor seating based on your preference and provided a very nice casual vibe! I got the Bacon, Egg, and Cheese sandwich (shown in the pic) and it was absolutely delicious! The sauce was definitely a gamechanger on it, but the egg, bacon, and buns were prepared perfectly. It also came with a side of hash browns that were mixed with onion, tomatoes, and scallions that were equally as good! They had several of other breakfast options that sounded great as well, so there's a good variety to choose from! Overall, I highly recommend! But come early if you want a seat just in case!
Yummy yummy yummy. So good and and affordable! Busy so be prepared to wait a little bit it’s worth it. Their hot chocolate was so rich and the pancake is huge and scrumptious. If you want a plate with all the fixings plus pancakes, you can get the griddles “deconstructed.” I ate every last bite!
I met up with two friends for breakfast at Good Ol’ Days on Monday and we had a really great time! I got the bacon egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, my one friend got the avocado toast and thought it was very good, and my other friend got the breakfast platter and enjoyed the hell out of it too! My bacon egg and cheese was filling and so tasty, solid cheese, perfectly cooked eggs, and crispy bacon with the sauce and arugula which really added to the sandwich overall! The smash browns were incredible too!! I will absolutely be back!
One of the best breakfast food I’ve had in a very long time. Service is good and friendly, the place is very nice, good ambiance and great music, and the prices are very reasonable. But above all, the food is absolutely delicious. I got a griddle stack (I think this is the name) and almost cried because of how good it was. Someone else at our table got the fried chicken sandwich and it was also amazing. The coffee was really good and the hot chocolate was divine.
This place is the real deal man. It’s not a kept secret however locals know about and you will likely have to wait for a seat. If you are not about to pass out from hunger it’s worth the wait. Staff is very friendly and welcoming and you won’t have to wait too long to be served. We got the chicken & waffles which was great, the chicken was incredibly moist and crispy. We also got the standard breakfast with potato’s hash which was exactly what we needed. Left feeling full not bloated and the prices didn’t hurt the wallet too bad either. This is a must check out spot.
Good ‘Ol Days Diner Est. 2023 Layout/atmosphere *Black-owned, 70s inspired diner/cafe; 11 tables; old personal photos, posters & tchotchkes on the walls; backyard area with tables Service *Friendly; takes a little time for the food but not dramatically Food/drink *The Bacon, Bacon, Egg & Cheese (Two fried eggs, Applewood bacon, Bacon jam, American cheese, arugula and house made sauce on brioche bun with side of smashed hash browns) - solid; bread held up with all the ingredients; potatoes included tomatoes & scallions (weren’t seasoned so I requested hot sauce on the side) *Brownstone French Toast (house made ginger cookie praline, maple syrup/weekends only) - Good; sweet, buttery; the syrup actually cuts the sweetness if you find that to be too much on its own
The service was fine. I didn’t really like the chili so I was able to substitute it for something else. However, the atmosphere was relaxing on a rainy day.
Service was absolutely outstanding, very quaint and familiar atmosphere, love the backyard patio. My dad enjoyed his breakfast plate, but my avocado toast was a let down. It was a very thin avocado puree smeared on the toast, kind of spread like butter. The photo uploaded from the business shows avocado toast with a reasonable amount of guacamole, tomatoes, pickled veg and an egg. This avocado toast felt more like a quick snack you make at home rather than a restaurant meal. I am glad however the neighborhood has a new diner spot and wish success for this new business! ❤️
Went to this diner on a Sunday with a friend and had about a 30-minute wait. Thankfully, they have a setup with the coffee shop next door, so we didn’t have to stand in the cold. The food was good overall, but I liked my friend’s meal more than mine. She had a burger hash with pancakes, which was way more exciting than my basic burger and tater tots. The real star of the show was the milkshake. The peach cobbler milkshake was amazing, and they have some really creative options. I’d definitely recommend this diner. I just think I ordered the wrong thing.
Food is solid. Atmosphere is even better. Price point is reflective of current average prices in the neighborhood. If you get here early enough there is no wait but once everyone wakes up the line stretches pretty long. The service was very polite and quick with the staff having exceptional customer service skills. The fish and grits was good but I wish there was more fish and a little less grits. It was the largest portion of grits I have ever seen (I love grits) and definitely not the biggest portion of fish. The grits were well seasoned and the pepper sauce was well spiced. The sauce did almost taste like marinara but it wasn’t off putting. The pancake was also good but could use a special topping or addition to make it stand out. It’s a great base pancake that felt like it was waiting for berries or a compote topping. It’s definitely better than any diner food and appreciated option in the neighborhood!
Food was ok. Never had runny cold grits too runny but had a nice flavor. Fish was good My wife had waffle and chicken waffle good but chicken was salty and needed proper seasoning. We won’t go back. For 50 dollars my wife would have prefer I cook for her but you can go. I personally don’t like what the neighborhood has become and that place fit right in. It is what it is.
The Atmosphere is so cool!! Love it! This was my second visit, here in May 2025. My 1st visit a few months ago on March 2025 was much better due to the wait time which was for less during my first visit. The staff was very courteous and professional. They even offered a small discount due to the long wait for our food. The eggs were a bit hard but everything else on my plate was very good Great spot to eat Breakfast All Day. Their Angus burger is delicious.
Amended Review: Came for Sunday brunch with my brother. Ordered a black coffee, a cereal muffin, a Diet Coke, and the biscuits and gravy. The coffee is their own blend, which I really enjoyed. The cereal muffin, which I hadn’t heard of before, was great. Really delicious and well made. Though the menu is on the more expensive side for the area, there is a wide range of options and the food was tasty. My brother who had the biscuits and gravy really enjoyed what he had. Though the portion size felt small to me, he said it was average, and was happy with it. The staff was courteous and responsive. We had no wait for a table, despite the space, and tables, being small. Review amended on 3/10/26 for a more elaborated explanation of experience. Original Review: Came for Sunday brunch. Tables are small and super close together. Pretty interesting menu, but the serving sizes were small, and all the prices are way too expensive. Good coffee and muffin - and we were seated pretty quickly, but just overall it was a lacking experience.
We ate here and the food was good and the servers were friendly. That said, we were told when we arrived that it was a 30 minute wait but were not told at that time that we would be asked to sit on a "heated" patio on a day when the real feel was barely above 20 degrees. The restaurant outdoor space did have heat lamps but they were not sufficient and this put a damper on what otherwise would have been a good meal. Would really encourage fair warning if such a seating arrangement is the plan from the hosts
The food is pretty mid and the price is very high for that quality of food. It’s not the cleanest place but it’s not that dirty somewhere in between. On top of that they make wait outside if the place is full and then you have wait for your at least 20 minutes. Very bad place if you’re in a rush.
Heard so many good things about their food. The diner is very very small. I expected more for a $20 breakfast at least in the large white to go tray. The food was ok, but I will not return. Very small. Yes you should be sorry. Very sorry Thank you Eddie! I agree 110%. Also the owner tried to make it seem I didn’t like the BROWN box. NO I don’t like trash food. I’m not the only one✅
Got the breakfast platter and unfortunately not very impressed with the flavor. I want to note that I did order it for takeout so perhaps that impacted overall presentation — It came cold and the peppers in the hash browns weren’t cooked through. The meal tasted undersalted and not very enjoyable
I wanted to love this place. I brought some friends for brunch, having heard high praise from a neighbor, but the service was extremely disappointing. Our server went from helpful but not particularly friendly to downright rude by the time the bill came. First, my friend's order came out solidly 15 minutes after everyone else's, so ours were cold by the time we started eating. The order also came very incorrect, not how she ordered it, and this waitress ROLLED HER EYES instead of apologizing or trying to make it right. We had to ask multiple times for everything after that. Napkins, sauce we ordered earlier but didn't receive, sugar for the coffees, etc. We were polite throughout, even though our server got ruder and more dismissive to the point of being kind of nasty when the check came. She said she "totally forgot" who ordered what, so she set the checks down in front of the wrong people. One of us was charged for a drink she didn't order, and the waitress was dismissive about that as well. We all thanked her regardless and she rolled her eyes again, turned on her heel, and walked away. I did my time in the food service industry, and I didn't even deliver service this bad when I was working the day after a family member died. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt, but I truly can't fathom what could have excused behavior like that, or what we did to deserve such poor treatment. When I went to the counter to pick up an additional item that I ordered to-go, the other staff member who assisted me was so kind and helpful that it made our interactions with the waitress feel even more atrocious in comparison. The whole group was excited to discover a new neighborhood staple, but we left feeling completely unwelcome. No one in our party will be returning, which is a shame because the food itself was good.
Food took around 40 minutes to come after ordering, they gave us free muffins which is nice, but none of us really wanted them. I got the burger, my friend got the chicken sandwich. They were 18 each. Definitely not a 20 dollar burger, very dry, fries were limp and lukewarm. Tater tots were really good
I fully support Black businesses but my experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. The cook should be fired as the food is bland and definitely does not have any pride in their job. The pan cake is undercooked. The fish was soaked in vinegar and lemon juice, and tasted terrible. The grits was grainy, and I don’t understand how you can get eggs wrong, but they were overcooked. Thanks to the wait staff for trying to make it good.
Attempted an online order. Had three drivers tell me the order wasn’t ready after waiting over an hour. When I called the restaurant I was met with a very combative response and was hung up on when I asked if they could either tell me the status of the order or if they could cancel. I understand that the restaurant is busy, but poor customer service/bad communication will never be the acceptable response to a paying customer.
Wow. Really bad. Had a huge hair in my food. Waitress was extremely grumpy and had a bad attitude the entire time. Food is really bad. Hash browns are fine but do not order the “porridge” literally like hot banana egg nog soup. Ridiculous
Came in and tried to speak to the owner but he brushed me and my guest off!! I thought this was would be a great black owned spot for the community but clearly not. as for the food, it was good but not worth coming back for because of the owner's sour attitude. I also heard him yelling at the staff and made us uncomfortable that he was treating them like that. Very unprofessional, won't be coming back
Service was good, but that's about it. The food was so disgusting we just paid and left. My partner's burger just tasted like wet vegetables, and my meal was just inedible. The fries tasted like rancid oil. Just disappointing. we were looking for a good neighborhood spot to support. Cafe next door was good though.
