What an excellent experience! I dined at a fantastic new Mexican pop-up where the food was a revelation, offering unique dishes far beyond traditional tacos. I'd highly recommend it for gathering with friends and family; everyone will find something to love.
Everything was great! My favorite was los sopecitos, the variety of salsas and the potato chips. We needed a bigger table haha, I guess they could bring the dishes little by little.
pretty good went with my girlfriend for her birthday. first thing i noticed was it was very “trendy” tiny tables and weird design but cute. like many nice restaurants in new york i can’t imagine the average american even fitting in the chairs there food was great we got some of the little tacos as well as a caesar salad. then of course the steak what’s that called. carne asada i think and some sort of pasta dish. honestly when i was single i never age salads but now i have a trendy girlfriend in brooklyn i feel like im constantly buying $16.00 caesar salads not even with chicken. staff was great very helpful and kind and welcoming and cool i thought there’d be more happy hour but they didn’t really have much outside of 10 dollar margaritas, which of course i had a few of but they weren’t very good, maybe too strong ! i forget what it was but my gf did not like her mixed drink much either. we were happier when we switched to beer overall great time and experience, a little sticker shock at the price but hey i ordered the steak. what can i expect.
Olmo is that kind of Mexican food that’s not the usual tacos or burritos everyone knows. It’s real “chilango” food from Mexico City… like the homemade dishes my grandma used to cook on Sundays, but taken to a premium NYC level. As someone from Mexico City, I can say every plate is a treat for your taste buds, your eyes, and even your sense of smell. The vibe is awesome: the music, the decor, the cantina-style concept, everything feels super authentic. The staff is warm and welcoming, which makes the whole experience even better. The bar is also amazing. You’ll find everything from a classic Mexican michelada to creative mezcal cocktails. It’s the perfect spot for a date night or just to hang out, disconnect for a while, and feel like you’re in a little corner of Mexico City right in the middle of Brooklyn.
Olmo is such a Bed-Stuy gem! It has a real CDMX vibe — lively, spacious, and fun without feeling cramped. We tried the crudité, crunchy chicharrón with cabbage and sauces, and the sopes (so addictive). For mains, the carne asada was packed with flavor, the eggplant milanesa was insanely good, and the branzino was perfectly cooked with flaky skin. Warm tortillas let us turn everything into little tacos — we cleaned every plate. Great mezcal-forward cocktails (loved the Ya Dijo El Jefe and Última Palabra) and a solid wine list. Don’t skip the flan paleta for dessert — creamy, sweet, and the perfect finish. Can’t wait to go back!!
I was apprehensive at first with the prices in the menu. Being from the neighborhood and seeing a new restaurant so close to home is a real treat, especially one that is offering a metropolitan experience. I have to say I was very delighted with the staff and the owner who shared his knowledge of mescals. Although the restaurant was very busy he did take the time to chat with us and go through the knowledge of mezcals. I would only say it should not be the owners responsibility to give that knowledge and expertise as all your team members should be as passionate for your menu options. I want this place to be a successful addition and highly recommend because everything we had was delicious and worth the price. Favorite cocktail was the Piedras! I would love to see some other items in their short menu but understand that smaller options make for better food! Maybe add a dessert digestif, Bravo!
Very good! I especially enjoyed the Pepitoria cocktail, the mushroom tostada and chicarron. Flavorful and their tortillas are yum. Love the ambience and service too!
Food was excellent- some eclectic New Mexican dishes mixed with unexpected classics. Staff was attentive and lovely. Can def see this spot becoming a BedStuy staple!
This Mexican restaurant is a lovely place! Nice decor and atmosphere. Enjoyed everything we ordered, the Chicharoń, crudités, plantain and the sopes is highly recommended. The service is excellent and very quick.
Incredible take on Mexican food, friendly service, great ambiance 10/10 recommend! Pro tip: order the amaretto with the flan paleta
Vermut well done, sope was a flavor bomb, branzino yummy. The star of the night was the palo santo martini… beautiful
If you’re anywhere near Bed-Stuy, you have to stop by Olmo. The vibe is incredible warm, welcoming, and effortlessly cool. Their wine selection is top-notch, the food is creative and delicious, and the cocktails are outstanding. It feels like a beautiful blend between New York and Mexico City. You can tell the team has worked at some of the best restaurants in both cities. A true gem!
Amazing. The space is beautiful designed. It calls for a very mindful and present dining experience. The food is incredible. I hope to return again soon.
Delicious, fresh food, the friendliest staff, and a beautiful space. The creamy dessert popsicle was next level. Such a great addition to the neighborhood!

Bartender definitely knows how to make Mezcal Margherita 👏👌 Appreciated. The sauces are AAA. Food is fresh. Bar seats looked fun. Generally if you have a Luis Miguel poster behind the bar you better live up to it and they definitely do.
Stunningly delicious and interesting food. Cannot recommend enough. Modern, high end Mexican with unique twists, and it never felt like they were trying too hard. Excellent service. Expert cocktails. Refreshingly modern, beautiful flavors and high quality ingredients severed without pretense.
Excellent Mexican restaurant in the same vein as restaurants like Cosme, Olmo does an excellent job of taking classic Mexico City staples and refreshing them with new ingredients, giving traditional dishes a subtle and delicious twist. The fideo was an excellent start to our meal and the branzino over white beans was amazing. The handmade corn tortillas were a nice touch and the michelada was well executed. The Cosme influences are clear, but Olmo does a lot to have its own identity. The service was great as well. Our server was always available without being intrusive and had great recommendations for the menu.
Food aside I’d come back for the service at Olmo alone. From the start, there were a few breakdowns: longer-than-expected wait times, gaps in communication, and the biggest frustration—nearly a third of the menu being unavailable, something that wasn’t communicated until after we were seated. Any one of those issues could have soured the visit. What changed the trajectory was the Olmo MANAGEMENT & STAFF. Once the gaps were identified, the team became proactive rather than defensive. They acknowledged the missteps clearly and without excuses, explained what was happening in real time, and adjusted quickly. Alternatives were offered without being prompted, recommendations were thoughtful rather than rushed, and small but meaningful gestures were made to offset the inconvenience. Most importantly, the tone never shifted to indifference. The staff stayed present, checked in often, and made it clear they were invested in correcting the experience—not just completing a transaction. It’s refreshing to dine somewhere where hospitality doesn’t stop at what’s printed on the menu. The care, accountability, and warmth from the Olmo management and staff turned what could’ve been an inconvenience into a reminder of what great service really looks like.

We ordered 5 dishes and 1 dessert for 2 people. I think this place is good, but not my typical to go Mexican place. My favorite is the crudite dish with heirloom tomato. It’s very refreshing, perfect for hot summer. My partner’s favorite is the sopes. The chili sauce is delicious, and I think the sopes is a little bit dry. We both think the pork skin in chicharron is too hard to bite. Personally I’m not huge fan of the pasta style. Also the place only has one AC in the room with an open kitchen. It feels hot for a sunny summer day.

I will start off my review with the dessert. I have to recommend their flan plaeta with caramel drizzle . It's a popsicle , yes but it's the best popsicle you'll ever have , if you go you have to try it. I really like the ambience, the food, and the service is great . Shout out to my amazing server Pablo. I really want to give 4.5 stars but there are no half stars so I'm giving 4 stars for now, because there a few small issues that I had, not food or service related so I e-mailed the restaurant directly and they were gracious and promised to investigate and fix those small issues . When I return and those issues are gone then I'll gladly give 5 stars. Appetizers: I had the roti potatoes dorado tacos, it's a must try , a very interesting dish partly inspired by Trinidadian Indian food. I recommend it. I also tried the very good and interesting chicharrón, they made it almost like a chip and topped it with something like a Cole slaw , just try it ,you'll like it. We both had the grass fed rib eye steak, it was tender, cooked the way I ordered it and flavorful. They serve it with their version an A1 steak sauce but their sauce is much better . It's a place that I can definitely visit again . They are doing things their way with food and presenting dishes with their own spin and creativity.

Food is 8/10. The mushroom tostada is great. Honestly though, Seats and tables are super small and not comfortable. Also, homies NEED to get better ventilation. We were coughing the entire time because the kitchen is in the same space as the tables. The space is too small to make a concept like that work. We walked out reeking of fried tortilla. For the exorbitantly priced dinner you're paying for, not worth it. Too bad. Wanted to like this place because it's in the neighborhood but won't go again.
The food here was excellent. It's fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can tell the kitchen is putting a lot of care into the menu. Unfortunately, the service experience left a sour note. Our server came over to check on us literally every 10 minutes. At first it seemed attentive, but after a while it became disruptive and we actually started timing it because it was so frequent. Finally in just under two hours into our meal, we were told that they needed our table. When you’re spending a good amount of money on dinner, you expect to be able to enjoy it without feeling rushed. A restaurant experience isn’t just about the food. It's about hospitality, pacing, and atmosphere. We left feeling pressured rather than relaxed, which was disappointing. I’d love to come back because the kitchen is clearly doing great work, but I hope the service approach improves so that diners can actually enjoy the meal at their own pace.
