Opinions de Tavo Coffee Co Bryan
My kind of coffee shop! Comfortable places to relax and enjoy coffee will working on my laptop. Naomi was very nice to chat with while she did a great job making my Latte Macchiato (I think I said that right?). Beautiful drink in very nice glass mug. Highly Recommended
This is definitely one of the top coffee shops in the BCS area! Their pour-overs are rich in flavor and stand out clearly from typical black coffee. Whenever I want excellent black coffee, I head to Tavo. The interior is a true treasure in Downtown Bryan, located in a historic building carefully renovated with vibrant rooms, seating, and lighting that enhance the coffee experience. The owners, Cathy and Gustavo, are incredibly kind and friendly, always engaging with the community, supporting local businesses, and hosting marketplace events. They also serve delicious sweets, available for order from Cathy’s baked goods or the new baker in the back. Moreover, they’re active in the local running scene and even offer marathon coaching. I highly recommend Tavo to visitors, students, or anyone craving great coffee.
The quintessential coffee shop. If you step into the back, there's also sweets and goodies to go with your coffee. They have several beautiful places to sit and even board games to pass the time. We chose the dojo ninja option. Thank you to the staff for making us feel welcome and serving some amazing coffee.
When I travel, I like to visit every local cafe I can to get a good idea of trends and how the non corp coffee scene is doing. As I live in the BCS area, I only have to visit Tavo, as it is the gold standard for here. Highly recommend just listening to the barista and enjoying the beverages as they are made.
Bookending another Java house staple on Main Street is this newly-established coffee company. Reasonably-priced beans and friendly baristas accentuated a historic backdrop that was once a lumberyard sales outlet where they served as in-house financing, as well...the staff uses the original cash drawer as their "register"! Great brew and a shot added, politely dubbed, "shot in the dark" by the conscientious staff...
This is a perfect coffee shop to get a pour over and relax, work, or come in with your pup. It is pet friendly (a huge plus). I had their cortado with Oatmilk and a Watermelon Lemonade (both really good). It is also in a historic building and it’s incredibly lovely to see how well they are preserving and utilizing this place. The tiles and the railing/fencing inside is super adorable and a must see. They have multiple spaces within the building to sip on your coffee or coming in with a group. They also have outside seating. I will definitely will be coming back! Recommend.
I stopped by Tavo Coffee and I’m so glad I did. The coffee was out of this world! I had the avocado toast too, and it totally hit the spot. The space is cozy and full of character, with lots of plants and awesome art from local artists. Super friendly staff and great energy all around. Wish this place had been around when I was in school—definitely a must if you’re in the area!
I visited Bryan earlier this year and Tavo was a highlight of the trip. The welcoming atmosphere and interesting decor and seating areas throughout the shop make this a perfect "third place" where you can hang out, work, and enjoy spending time with all the wonderful people here, all while drinking excellent coffee. The owners and employees have a passion for coffee that is front-and-center in all of the drinks they make. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu here, it's all fantastic and made with the utmost care. This is really a special place and I wish I had one back home! I'm very excited to visit the next time I'm in town. Be sure to stop in if you're ever nearby.
I never knew this cute place existed until now! We got an iced chai latte, an iced dirty chai latte, and an iced coffee. All of them were super yummy and not too sweet! This place is super cute and quiet. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a place to study.
Atmosphere: Outside of the establishment it looks like most of the other establishments in the downtown Bryan area, except that there is horse statue that draws you towards the entrance of the building. Upon entering, there is an opening in which you will be greeted by the barista, as well as both menus (Coffee and Pastry & Sandwich. If you turns towards the right, you will see a bunch of coffee bags that are used for their pour overs and their corresponding locations on the map. I like that there are multiple room styles in the establishment, each with their own unique twist (especially the safe room). Service: The barista was very knowledgeable in his taste of coffee and went into a deeper dive as to the process of making one of the pour over coffee selections. He made it aware to me that it would be a couple minutes to make the drink, when I came to see the progress of the drink I noticed his attention to detail and passion in creating the coffee. Quality: Their products speak for themselves....to be able to have the 2024 US Brewers Cup Championship as well as having the barista be passionate about making the drink, shows the quality and passion to create the drink for their customers. Fili's Fave: Looks like I was lucky enough to try the Los Nogales Decaf Caturra, definitely unique flavor and glad I was able to have the opportunity to try it.
Great new coffee shop in Bryan. It’s got a funky feel & the coffee tastes great. They have Lofi type music playing in the background. The front section is more for reading a book or catching up with a friend. If you walk towards the back, there are some bigger tables for larger groups or studying.
This is one of the coolest coffee shops I’ve ever been in. It’s situated in an old bank (including an old vault you can sit in). There’s plenty of space, the coffee is good, and they play nice music at a low level.
They since revamped the place for more food options, but this was my go-to place for a smooth Americano. The couple who own Tavo source their own beans from family in Guatemala and really care about the art of coffee making. Their drinks range from delicious espressos/pour overs for people like me who just like black coffee, to those with a wide variety of syrups/milks for fun flavors. They are also really involved in the local coffee/food scene in general, so it's always fun to chat with them about yummy things in town (ask them about the taco trail). The seating is more lounge-y (as it used to be a sake bar, and before that, a bank), but there are spots for studying as well.
Love this gem in downtown Bryan! New fave coffee spot. You can tell the owners have a real passion for specialty coffee, too. TONS of space in the back for reading, working, or studying. For mamas out there - there is also a baby changing table/station in the women’s restroom! We got… and would recommend.. • Americanos (hot and iced - fantastic espresso both ways) • Matcha latte (iced with added cane sugar syrup - not too sweet at all) • homemade poptart (all that was left from my 4yo was the morsel in the pic)
I've gone here once a week for the past 6 months or so because I finally found it: the best coffee in BCS. Other shops have good atmosphere, but they don't have four separate spaces and vibes covered in their own artwork, plants, and soundsystems. Oh, and the art and plants are for sale! This place has a unique history that you can see in the architecture all around you-- go ahead and take a seat in the vault, it's lovely. The coffee? Have you ever said "I don't like black coffee" because when you tried it at a shop or from your keurig it was sour or bitter? Let Gustavo tell you why that happens and allow him to make you a pourover coffee-- black. I did. Turns out black coffee has taste. The words on the package mean something, and you DONT need the artificial flavors that k cups have. If you see a pour over you like, grab it right then. They go at cost and the selection changes as soon as they're out. The lattes and cappuccinos are excellent. Of course they are. Tavo has an award-winning latte artist and house made syrups with rotating seasonal varieties. Everything is made with love and care--especially since Gustavo is a 5th generation coffee farmer. Try Tavo. If I haven't convinced you, yet, maybe you'll go across the street during the farmers market on Saturday. It's that close, after all. They even have snacks-- sometimes homemade by the baristas.

Such a cool place. The building was a bank once upon a time, and today it’s a wonderfully decorated coffee shop. It’s honestly just fun to walk around the shop and explore. I got a vanilla bean latte which was phenomenal, and my wife enjoyed their strawberry lemonade. We will definitely be back!
Great coffee, wonderful atmosphere, and very quirky!! It's one of my new favorites.
People were so nice, coffee was rich with flavor that matched the beautiful atmosphere of old and new with comfy all tied in.
I love traveling to different coffee shops, and this one I loved! We asked him what his favorite latte was, and he recommended the vanilla latte. I was very impressed from the first sip, I feel like this is probably one of the best lattes I've ever had, it was very silky and smooth. The atmosphere is absolutely beautiful and the barista has such a great personality, he was so much fun to talk to and welcome's you to explore this place.
Stepped into this adorable coffee shop and was immediately greeted by the barista. Went with the recommendation of a chocolate/caramel latte and honey/lavender latte. HIGHLY recommend. Both were delicious. Hands down one of the best honey/lavender lattes I've ever had. The balance was perfect on both choices.
Love this place! Cozy with very low music generally which makes working and listening to your own music easy. I’ve had multiple 1:1 meetings here as well as just came here alone to get work done. It’s more out of the way for college students, which means less crowds generally (which is great). Coffee quality is really really good, though know that it’s a tiny bit higher priced than some of the other spots in town, though not by a noticeable amount . When you order in, they give you an actual mug rather than wasteful plastic lined paper to-go cups, which I always appreciate! Havent met an unkind person who works here yet; they are all delightful!
Our coffee was soooo yummy!!! I ordered an oat milk latte with apple and honey and I could actually taste the oat!! It was such an incredible blend!! My husband ordered an iced americano with pistachio and pumpkin spice flavoring; it was also a wonderful blend!! The atmosphere was very cutesy! Many lil places to study or simply gather. Also totally recommend the bakery in the back!!
One of the best pour over coffees I have had. Friendly staff and super cool, chill environment. Saw several people there with laptops. Plenty of space to study/work or have a small meeting even. I love that there was a bakery in the back. If I'm ever in Bryan, TX again, I'll definitely go back.
