Opinions de White House Tajine Bryn Mawr
The food is fresh and amazing! Service was excellent! The starter mezze was delicious - we got the baba ganoush, hummus and more. My sister enjoyed the lamb Tajine and brother the chicken Tajine! I had the salmon with tzatziki and a Greek salad - all of it was good! The baklava was delicious and a great way to end the meal!
This was by far our best Moroccan dining experience in America. Mohammad made sure that we enjoyed every minute of our visit and felt like we were home. The food was exquisite! Every bite was savory and delightful. Thank you so much for having us and for preparing a wonderful meal. We look forward to many more visits!
We had a lovely experience here! We made a reservation, but on weeknights at least it was very quiet and seemed there was no need for one. The mezze platter was delicious with a variety of flavors and textures. The beets especially were my favorite, which is unusual! The lamb tajine is fantastic as well, very tender, and comes with some dried apricots, figs, and other fruits that act as a nice sweet contrast to the richness. Service was kind and attentive throughout! If you get the baklava (which you should), make sure to get the mint tea as well—the perfect mildly sweet finisher.
Cute little hidden place in the Main Line area. We tried the most amazing chicken kebabs—everything was delicious! The chef is an incredible cook. This family-owned business won us over, and we'll definitely be back. Note: you will need reservations. I mentioned it was my sister’s birthday, and the owner decorated our table with a "Happy Birthday" banner, which was so sweet! Thank you so much!
Ate here back in June and will definitely go back again whenever in town. It was our first time there and we didn't know we needed dinner reservations. We were almost turned away because it was late and they were closing and running out of food but the owner came out and gave us a break and accommodated us. We were so grateful. The food was delicious and authentic. The atmosphere was cozy with beautiful decor. The owners were originally from Morocco and the wife cooks all the food. I asked to meet her and thank her for the delicious meal. She was so sweet and I could tell she had been cooking all day. Will never forget this wonderful experience.
First time here and loved it! Started with refreshing peppermint tea.The chicken tajine was tender and full of flavor. chicken shawarma was juicy with soft pita. The chicken kebab was smoky and delicious. Great experience—will be back!
I recently had the pleasure of dining at White House Tajine, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The food was nothing short of amazing – authentic flavors that transported us straight to Morocco. We were so impressed with our initial orders that we couldn’t resist ordering more! Each dish was a delightful blend of spices and ingredients, perfectly cooked and beautifully presented. The tajines were particularly standout, with tender meats and vibrant vegetables simmered to perfection. The service was equally impressive. The staff were attentive, friendly, and genuinely passionate about ensuring we had a great dining experience. They were more than happy to explain the menu and make recommendations, which we greatly appreciated. White House Tajine has quickly become one of our favorite spots, and we can’t wait to return. If you’re looking for authentic Moroccan cuisine with outstanding service, this is the place to go!
My initial expectations for this establishment were quite modest, judging solely from their online menu. However, I must admit that my first impressions were profoundly mistaken. From the moment we entered the restaurant, the level of hospitality made us feel like cherished guests in someone's home. Despite a bustling crowd, we experienced a remarkable sense of exclusivity. Turning to the culinary aspect, each dish that graced our table was nothing short of exceptional. From the appetizers to the main courses, every bite was a testament to the precision and authenticity of flavors. The dining experience surpassed our expectations, leaving an indelible mark on our taste buds. My family and I are unequivocally inclined to revisit this gem, and my only regret is not having discovered it sooner.
This unique dining establishment isn't your typical restaurant experience; while the food is undeniably delicious, it's the inviting ambiance that beckons you to return. My first visit to this family-owned Moccoron restaurant was delightful, offering an authentic taste that sets it apart. Mr. Mohammad, the owner, exudes kindness and humor, ensuring a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Don't miss out on trying their exceptional Baklava—it's unlike any I've had before. This place truly lives up to the hype! ❤️ PS : Don’t forget to reserve before you go to avoid waiting
If you don't like long reviews, let me start by saying DON'T sleep on this place!! It's tiny, it's not in a rush and it's amazing Moroccon food!!! I don't think there's anything on the menu that isn't absolutely delicious. Like I said, it's a small spot, we walked in without a reservation, because we didn't know, and still got a table because the guy running it is awesome. So thanks for that and kids, call ahead and make sure you get a table. Inside its pretty much a one man show on the floor, so don't get all annoying if your order takes a minute, you're not in Philly for the next 2h you're in Morocco and things aren't always in a rush there. I am still blown away by the chicken appetizer with cinnamon and powdered sugar and of course, the lamb kebabs were amazing! End it with a teal and a pistachio cake and you're in caloric overdrive heaven. All in all great food, great service and we will be back. Thanks !!!
Stellar! Love Tagine! We showed up at 5 and the whole place was full so we had to leave and make a reservation for 8 that evening. They were very accommodating. The place is sweet and cozy and the service is authentic and pleasant. The food is phenomenal from the choices that we made. Just the first course and a tagine with a few options was enough and the hummus and baba was the best I might have ever had. Incredible veggies if you are a veg also. Overall a very phenomenal meal and we will return to this place soon!
White House Tajine’s food is phenomenal. You can tell it is a family restaurant based on how personable the server is and the environment of the restaurant. When I arrived, there was nobody to greet me and the workers did small things like talk on the phone and step out to do something. HOWEVER, in return, the food tastes like a chef who knows about the culture and how to cook well made the food. The food tasted like I was a welcome guest at a loved one’s home and they wanted to treat me well. I went there to celebrate my wife’s birthday and she told me that something about them singing happy birthday to her made the experience emotional for her. 10/10 highly recommend.
The food was exceptionally good. Start to finish. What a surprise to find delicious authentic Moroccan food in Bryn Mawr. The atmosphere is warm and authentic. The owner was our waiter and he was great. Informative and kept us laughing. We were there in July, on a Monday and you needed a reservation. Maybe eight tables and constantly busy. We loved it all and will definitely be back!
This place is a hidden Gem for Morrocon food. Food is exceptional, culturally exuberant vibe that gives you a glimpse of Morroco. Definitely would recommend this family owned restaurant. If you have bigger groups, def book upstairs sitting. Food preparation takes a while , so plan to order at once.
This is a really awesome restaurant in the main line area. Excellent food, service, and this restaurant will literally transform you into Morocco. Mohammad the owner does it right and he has an awesome team to make the dining experience a memorable one. Support this small business you will not be disappointed. With Moroccans they are the most hospitable people ever!!
We came in for an early brunch this past Sunday… all I can say is we are so happy we did! We got the special brunch board the owner recommended… starting with amazing mint tea, a Turkish coffee, strawberry and fig bowl with honey and then main course board loaded with Moroccan favorites… I highly suggest checking this place out, trusting the owners recommendations and enjoy every bite!
Stumbled upon this place while waiting for my car to be derailed. Just wanted a simple gyro and was presented with a beautiful feast! Not only was the food good, but the presentation was gorgeous! One of the owners greeted and took care of me. He was so incredibly nice, and even gave me a free dessert which was also extraordinary! Would highly recommend!
Absolutely amazing, the Tadjine didn't even need a knife, the Mezze with different assortment of breads was perfect, added the mint tea pot with baklava just end the dinner with a crown ! The service team family were awesome, a good and enjoyable atmosphere talking with them, they were back and forth between the first and then second floor making sure all is good with their customers and we were served in timely manner. Beside, we enjoyed listening the Mediterranean music !!
To start off, the workers were so personable and kind. You can tell the owner cares about the quality of the food and making sure everyone is cared for. I love how it’s a family business and everyone has a role. Small space but that goes with the close knit family restaurant vibe. We started off with the Mezze and it was so good. So much flavor and variety of dishes. Then my main was the lamb gyro which also had so much flavor. Excellently made. My mom also had the Greek salad with falafel which she loved and my dad got the lamb tajine which he also recommended. The owner also slipped us their homemade baklava at the end of dinner and it was so delicious. He makes it himself and clearly loves what he does. It means a lot when the workers have a passion for their food. Love this place and I highly recommend it.
Always looking for new restaurants and last night my buddy and I met up and went out for dinner. He recommended this place although, I was reluctant to go as each time I have gone to Moroccan places I never really cared for the food. It was his bday so I let him take the lead. Food was incredible, start to finish everything was amazing. We got a medium size Mezze which was incredible. Never had hummus that I enjoyed, this was incredible. Baba Ghanoush was fantastic as well. Additionally we got the Lamb and Chicken Kebab and a Goat Tajine. all were outstanding. To top it off, the gentlemen who waited on us I believe also was the chef was amazing. Very welcoming, friendly and funny. You can tell he loves to make people smile, not only through his interactions with the customer but through the passion and love he puts into his food. Amazing place and look forward to going back.
My family loves this restaurant, they serving authentic Moroccan food. The owner is very very friendly, service is very good, but do expect waiting a little long for food. Their mint tea is very good. The mezze platter was yummy and the Peter bread was very good. I love their lamb shank tajine was so delicious and the lamb melts in your mouth. Chicken couscous was cooked perfect and the chicken was so tender. The Moroccan vegetable soup was excellent. You have to try the baklava, it is one the best I ever tried. Definitely recommend to try this restaurant.
We went on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Our server was friendly and funny. Food came quickly and we didn’t have to wait long between courses. Really good food and homey atmosphere. It felt like we were eating delicious home cooked meals at a friend’s house. We had the mezze, kofta kabobs and lamb tajine. Everything was tasty and well balanced. Not too salty but still very flavorful, which is what we like. We also took baklava to go, which was super light and soft, best baklava we ever had. Just wish it was bigger! We will be going back and trying more menu items. Five stars for this family owned restaurant
been here twice now for pick up lunch and I am very impressed with the food and service. I own a restaurant myself and am pretty picky about food. Had the Chicken Pastilla both times. Was so good the first time I got two the second time so I could have leftovers. I have had it once or twice in the past elsewhere and it was decent. Here it is fantastic. amazing balance between the shredded stewed chicken, sweetened toasted almonds, and everything else in there. I would never expect a chicken pie with powdered sugar and cinnamon to be so good. I will get this again and again. But there are other things I need to try here too now. That said, I am sitting at my desk a day later, eating a half of a cold pastilla, and even cold, a day later, it is still absolutely delicious. Sweet, savory, spiced, and wonderful. Had their rendition of a Gyro both times as well. Really good - different than a greek gyro, with a slightly thicker and more moist lamb, which was really good, and some sauces, cucumber and lettuce and toppings that sent it over the top. dipping it in the yogurt sauce and hummus (i think) is great. Also had the chicken soup the first time and it was honestly one of the best chicken soups I have ever tasted. Amazing flavor, rich, spiced, and the chicken in there was roasted to perfection before putting it in the soup. Highly impressed by this. I love a good chicken noodle soup, this one is beyond good. Top it off with a delicious baklava they make in house. Also really top of the heap. Some extra little hints of spice, and a lot of sweet crushed almond filling and it is pretty wonderful. They even put a little gold leaf on there for presentation in my take-out container. Who does that? Answer...a restaurant that cares! I will be trying some other stuff next time, but if everything is as good as what I have had so far, this is a must try. Staff is super nice and welcoming as well!
Here’s the full, longer 5/5 review, refined and flowing naturally: ★★★★★ 5/5 We had a fantastic experience at White House Tajine. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and the staff was genuinely super friendly. The food was exceptionally well prepared — you can immediately taste the care and technique behind it. The meat was perfectly marinated, cooked over charcoal, and incredibly juicy and flavorful. Every bite reflected thoughtful preparation and high-quality ingredients. Nothing felt rushed or generic; it was real, honest cooking done right. The desserts were absolutely outstanding and the perfect way to end the meal. A very special mention to Ayoub, the chef — he is not only extremely talented but also so welcoming and friendly. His passion truly shows in both the food and the way guests are treated. We will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this place to anyone who appreciates well-cooked, flavorful food and warm hospitality.
Ayoub has served us amazingly! The food, service, atmosphere were all perfect. Their Moroccan mint tea was to die for. The food was aesthetic and delicious. We’ve truly enjoyed being here and we will definitely come back to this place!!
Incredible food and the atmosphere is great. It feels like you are sitting in someone’s house and genuinely talking with family. One customer mentioned she was interested in something in Morocco, and we all became curious, so the owner turned on a documentary. We all happily watched this. Highly recommend mezze and the avglomono soup. Can’t wait to try the lamb shank and cous cous next!
Incredible. One of the best Moroccan restaurants in the greater Philadelphia area. The hospitality is unmatched, they will treat you better than one would be treated in Morocco 🤎🇲🇦
There are no words to describe how perfect this place is! I live in Bucks County and would absolutely make the trip here just for this place. This is as authentic, fresh and healthy Morracan food as it gets. It is a kind friendly Moroccan family who owns, cooks and works it. She cooks everything fresh, to the point of slow roasting the tangines over 8hours. This lamb tangine is THE BEST. The mint tea is perfect blend of mint and honey. The atmosphere is traditionally decorated. Right on Lancaster Ave. I cant recommend this place enough. 5 stars aren't enough!
The food was absolutely exquisite. The service was more like a family experience, a happy family experience, and we met several welcoming members. We had a wonderful time from start to delicious finish. The picture is of Amar serving us the wonderful Mezze. Oh, and let me not neglect the house kitty Carla, making an appearance and snuggling up. Possibly the advantage of having come in early enough!
Went with a Moroccan friend with a party of four. Almost tasted everything on the menu. Our Moroccan friend said everything is authentic. We also talked to the owner's son and heard the story of their family. Beautiful humans. Thank you for such a memorable time!
Service with a smile and food all tasted great! Their lamb kabab, chicken skewers and lamb shank! Everything was delicious! Wanted to try their lamb chops but they were out of it. Will try next time!
White House Tajine has some of the best food I’ve eaten, and certainly the best Moroccan food I’ve had. The service was excellent, with a lot of good advice on different parts of the menu. The mezze platter is a must. But order one size larger than what you think you should. It’s that good. We also had the lamb chops, which were fantastic, and finally, as its name suggests, the “Best Baklava on the Planet,” didn’t disappoint. It is amongst the best Baklava I’ve ever had. Excellent restaurant, that’s a little on the pricey side, but it’s well worth it. Highly recommended.
All i have to say is that they have the best most authentic Moroccan food on the main line. My guy Aub makes sure he serves everyone with his heart and makes fresh food with love. Must try the kabob platter with hummus and fresh in house Moroccan bread!!
Despite having been overbooked on Valentine’s Day (thanks, technology), the staff worked hard to get food on tables and manage an extremely crowded and stressful evening. The food was excellent, the atmosphere beautiful, and overall it was a wonderful evening to remember. Definitely will be back on a regular night!
Just dined in today - got the chicken pastilla. Very delicious! Amazing service from the team, and the dining room has a beautiful aesthetic matching that of a cuisine straight out of Morroco! 10/10, would eat here again
Honestly one of THE BEST Tajine I’ve ever had. It was absolutely made with love. The people and owner here are absolutely so kind and I could tell they are very passionate about food. I love the vibe of the place. I went here a few months ago and no one can beat it! Their baklavas and drinks is also good. Don’t hesitate and just go here because you would not regret it.
Walking into the restaurant you're greeted by intricate designs and patterns all over this family owned, beautiful hole-in-the-wall restaurant. The owner himself came out and greeted everyone dining, creating a homely vibe complete with warm jokes and excellent food suggestions from the staff. The food is on another level, exceptionally flavorful and perfected - for instance the lamb tajine fell apart as soon as you try to lift a piece up with a fork and dissolves into buttery goodness once you bite it. Everything is clearly freshly made with high quality ingredients. 10/10 top find
My friends and I have a Thursday night BYOB tradition and are always on the lookout for great places to eat. Last night we visited for the second time and unanimously agreed that this is our favorite of all the BYOB places we've been, and there have been many to choose from. The food is fresh, authentic, and so delicious. We shared the large Mezza platter with chicken and each ordered the Harira soup. Incredibly flavorful. The service is outstanding, and the owner/chef visited our table to make sure everything met our expectations. He was super friendly and welcoming, as was our server. I love the Moroccan decor too. Can't recommend this place enough, and we plan to make it a more regular stop for us in the future!
I am so happy my boyfriend and I stumbled across this restaurant. If I am being honest, this was one of the best meals I have had in a while. Not only was the food phenomenal, the owner put so much care and pride into his work that it just made everything better. Everything was spot on from the atmosphere, the service, and even the bowls and plates our food was served on. I am so grateful I got to expirence this, this was the best way to spend our New Year’s Eve. We took some baklava to go and I almost cried when I took a bite. Don’t skip on the juices on the back, they’re so amazing. I’m glad we went here.
Started with the avegolemono soup which was such a novel experience that warmed me right up while taking the taste buds on an unexpectedly pleasant journey. The lamb couscous was top marks 👌 the lamb melted off the bone. Closed out with some of the finest baklava ive ever had, all made in house. The owner was a proper character too and someone you can tell loves what he does. Will definitely be back.
The food doesn't just taste good; it feels like Grandma is in the back cooking just for you. You can actually taste the charcoal smoke in every bite—that deep, rustic flavor you just can't get from a gas stove. It’s incredibly rare to find food this delicious that also feels clean and healthy. No heavy grease, just real ingredients and soul. Truly the most romantic meal we’ve had because it felt so authentic." Highly recommended I can’t wait to come back very soon thank you White House tajine 🥹
Avoided the big crowds and spent Valentine's at our favorite local spot, White House tajine. It felt so personal and cozy. The chef clearly puts a lot of heart into the food—the lamb shank tajine tasted like a home-cooked meal but with five-star execution. It wasn’t a 'stuffy' Valentine’s experience; it was warm, welcoming, and delicious. It reminded us why we love this place so much. A perfect, low-stress evening."
Great place and reasonable prices for the area. Family run and really lovely host running the place by himself with smile. Food was good but there was more showmanship though given I have been to Morocco. Quantity of what was great too. . Family really put a lot of work in running the place and have decorated well. Space is limited so the owner kept bumping into my chair when he walked to the kitchen making it hard for me to enjoy my meal.
Disappointing doesn’t even cover it. We were a party of 12 for a birthday party and had very high expectations. The appetizers were fine, although we had a very meager amount of pita bread accompanying, and when we asked for more, we got a handful - for 12 people. We were handed bottled water to drink, which was fine - but when one of our party decided she would gladly take the extra water left in front of her since she wasn’t drinking the waiter quickly snatched it away from her. That set the tone. We waited an hour for our main courses which were brought out very slowly. Four of our guests didn’t get their meals until the bill was brought out - they should have been taken off the bill but there was no discussion surrounding that. My shrimp kabobs were good except that I evidently was splitting them with someone else - and out of four kabobs only three arrived. They tried to convince us that was it - but of course it made no sense that two of us were splitting three kabobs. Yes they brought out one more - a half hour later. Two people didn’t get their dinners - and left out of frustration. My wife’s chicken couscous arrived - with two bites of chicken and mostly bones - pictured attached. The server seemed to have limited or no idea of what he was doing and that made it even worse. Finally we were told we should have the world’s best baklava for dessert. It wasn’t even the world’s most mediocre baklava. Will not go back. You shouldn’t bother.
We had a 7 PM reservation on Valentine's Day and arrived to a huge line out the door. Everyone in the line had the reservation for the same time. They fully overbooked. After waiting for a while without the line moving, we just went home. I understand that places are busy on Valentine's Day, but it would have been nice to be given some notice on that so we had the option to make other plans.
My partner and I got take out from this highly recommended restaurant on a Saturday night for a 6:45pm takeout time. The restaurant is so small that we had to awkwardly wait in the front by the door and wait for a waiter to come over since there is no hostess stand. After about 5-10 minutes we finally got a hold of a waiter and got our food. When we got home we realized they forgot the bread that we ordered and honestly the food was pretty bland. We got the vegetable couscous and the chicken kebab. Both were dry and flavorless. The coffee and tea were good though, and our soup and baklava were okay. The portion sizes were small and we just felt that the takeout order was not taken seriously. We paid just over $100 for our entire order but I don't think the food and experience are were even worth $50, so I'm kind of upset that I paid a top dollar for such a mediocre experience. We have gotten better food at food trucks in the city for a fraction of the price.
This place is a complete joke. They advertise themselves as a “Moroccan restaurant” but there is absolutely NOTHING Moroccan about it — it’s just generic Middle Eastern food, totally different cuisine, and it feels straight-up misleading. The staff are rude, unprofessional, and clueless: they had people waiting outside freezing with zero communication, no greeting, no respect for anyone’s time, and they ruined people’s plans without caring. The food was terrible, overpriced, and the portions were pathetically small (not even enough for two). On top of that, the place is cramped, dirty, and honestly unhygienic. Save your money and go somewhere that actually respects customers and serves real Moroccan food.
We made a reservation for 5:45 PM on Valentine’s Day and weren’t seated until around 6:00 PM. While we understand that holidays can be busy, the service once we were seated was very disappointing. After being sat, we waited about 10 minutes before our server came to greet us. He did not introduce himself or explain the menu. Instead, he approached the table and said, “What do you want?” in a rude tone. When we asked questions about the menu, he simply repeated what was already written rather than offering any helpful explanation. I also asked for water, and after waiting another 10–15 minutes without receiving it, we decided to leave. Unfortunately, the overall experience felt unwelcoming and inattentive, especially for a special occasion like Valentine’s Day.
in today with a reservation for six. When we arrived, there was a huge line of people who all had the same reservation time. They clearly overbooked. Instead of coming outside to explain what was happening, they left us standing in the cold like we did not matter. To make it worse, some people walked in and were seated immediately after skipping the line. When I went inside to use the restroom, I heard a staff member tell the waiter to go outside and speak to us. He responded, “Don’t worry about them, they are not our problem.” Absolutely disgusting behavior. So many people were humiliated tonight and had their plans ruined. I hope everyone who experienced this leaves a review.
This is the worst place I have ever been to. The staff was completely unprofessional. They had us waiting outside in freezing temperatures for a full hour. When we finally went inside, we saw that there were empty tables available. They simply did not care enough to come outside and update the people waiting. The meal was overpriced and extremely disappointing. It was a Valentine’s fixed menu and all we received were three small BBQ skewers and a piece of baklava. It felt like a complete scam for the high price. They advertise themselves as authentic Moroccan food, but none of it was truly Moroccan. The mezza was more Lebanese and Egyptian inspired, the kebabs were Turkish, and even the baklava was Turkish. It is a huge rip off and honestly an insult to authentic Moroccan cuisine. Do not waste your time or money here.
