Opinions de Sato Ramen Buffalo
The food was absolutely amazing!!! The ramen was very filling, the rice pudding was light and refreshing, and I will be dreaming of those donuts! Five stars.
EXCEPTIONAL food! Tonkatsu Ramen and Fried Tofu Don were both absolutely spectacular! Staff are friendly, prices are reasonable, portions Very generous. We will definitely be returning and trying many of the small plates! Just beware the limited seating; we went during the slowest time and there were still many seats filled. But it is most definitely worth any wait!
SATO knocked it right out of the park!! The SATO Ramen, Veggie Ramen, and Pork Gyoza Dumplings were absolutely delicious- easily the best Ramen I’ve ever had in several different cities!! Takeout was quick and easy. Price is reasonable. 10/10 recommend!! So good!!
Pork Ramen and sushi 🍣 is great. Prices are reasonable. Is the bed Ramen in Buffalo, small place prices could be compared to Wegmans so it really a great deal.
Had a cup of Jasmine hot tea and honey, while waiting for my SATO Ramen. The food and tea were Excellent. I so enjoyed the interior art work. Perry
Has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. All of the food was delicious. The staff was super friendly and food was served quickly. Will definitely be visiting again.
The best place for ramen! Great atmosphere, friendly workers, and great customer service!! If you had a bad experience then give it another try 😋 Veggie ramen with black garlic oil is my go to, they make the best fried tofu here! Vegan curry ramen is also so delicious. I love visiting each location, they have different environment and menu.
My son and I came here.i did. Not want to go out but VERY HAPPY I did. Wait was 2 min. Sat down and was served right away. Wait for our food was maybe 5 min. Excelent flavor teriyaki Don that I ate. My son enjoyed Tonkotsu Ramen. Complements to SAto Ramen . I would have taken pics but I could not wait to enjoy after immediate smell as the served it. This what was left. Highly recommend.
First time coming to this location and everything was amazing. The food was great and the service even better. Ryan went above and beyond anticipating our needs before we asked and all of the staff was generally just friendly. We usually go to a different ramen spot but because of the service we'll definitely be back. Thanks for making the experience so great! Not the easiest as I'm a grumpy pregnant woman with a lively toddler.
If you’re a fan of ramen this is a MUST. Highly recommend the Sato Ramen (which is a family recipe) or Spicy Miso :)
Fantastic food and friendly service, especially love coming here on a chilly day for a warm/ cozy bowl of ramen. If you have room after your meal, try the coconut honey rice pudding it’s such a treat!
The place was really cool, but really small! the whole vibes were awesome, I loved the look of the place as well!! The hostess was great as well. We walked in and ordered take out, and we were out in about 20 mins really happy with the overall visit!
I attended with a family member who's never had ramen or Japanese style food before. They were friendly like always, and very helpful in finding a dipping sauce she would like because the soy sauce was too salty. They have changed the seating so instead of a large communal table, there are two long bar height tables with stools. It provides more privacy and in a small space I understand they're limited. I was concerned for my family member, because they're older, but they didn't seem to have trouble sitting on the bar stool. Always a good experience.
I love their food so much. I've had ramen three times and then tried an appetizer (some sort of fried chicken with a dipping sauce?? Literally the best thing I've ever eaten) and the coconut rice pudding for dessert (was to Die For) -- every bite was Out of This World. Minimal social interaction for placing order, which I enjoyed (they hand you a paper menu and you use a pencil to mark the quantities of what you want on the menu). Depending on how busy it is you may have to sit next to other people but I haven't had an issue with it for the three times I've visited so far. It's a small space for seating, ideal for a couple. I wouldn't recommend coming here to eat if you're a party of 5+ people but take-out, absolutely. The price was definitely worth the quality of food in my opinion.
The best ramen in Buffalo! The tofu ramen is amazing. It's quite a small place so either get there early to get a seat, or the take out is quite nice as well. When you take out, they package the broth in one container and noodles/veggies in another so it's not a soggy mess when you get home!
Great little ramen shop with smaller & authentic menu with a funny, artsy, feel.
This is for SATO on main st. Though the dining area is a bit small, it is cozy and clean. The staff was very welcoming and friendly. The ramen was fantastic. A very good size portion. Flavors were really good. The pork was very tender. Noodles were cooked perfectly. Definitely going to visit again.
This spot which I didnt even notice driving down Main St, is really a hole in the wall and can be overlooked, but the moment you walked in they gave you this Japanese-esque vibe with the seating style. Their ramen is spot on, I almost finished the soup on it's own just because they're that good. The choice of drinks, Plum Wine included, definitely a must try as well. Recommended - it can get busy, other than that love it!
This little ramen shop serves delicious authentic Japanese ramen. There is a bar you can sit at or a table with some friends. The interior is cute and charming. The amount of ramen you get in one bowl fills you up for the rest of the day. The price is also very good, one bowl of ramen is about $12. I went with my sister and we are definitely coming back.
Amazing. To give you an idea, of how good everything was, I specifically aimed to take a photo of the main dish, but once I started eating I couldn't stop. I had the Sato Tonkotsu Ramen which was amazing, and then we has an appetizer of Harumaki Spring Rolls, photoed, that were also great. Will definitely be back. It's amazing how you can have a little spot like this right under your nose and never know about it. Would definitely recommend this place.
I recently visited this ramen restaurant, and it blew me away. Having lived in Japan for four years, I can confidently say this is the best ramen I've had in America. The broth is rich, the noodles are perfect, and the toppings are fresh. The takoyaki is also fantastic – crispy outside and tender inside. Highly recommended!
This is one of my favorite ramen places. I had Ramen all over the country, places like San Diego, Long Beach, Oakland, California. SATO is still my favorite. like any restaurant that you go to on a regular basis There's been some issues with my orders once or twice but they always took care of it in an extremely agreeable manner.
Simply the best Ramen in town!! No wait, chairs could a bit more comfi and the music a bit less loud but this is across UB so 🙂
Awesome food, amazing staff, and beautiful drawings adorn the walls!
Cute little ramen that I got recommended by a friend. I got myself a kimchi side dish, arare (Japanese rice crackers) and Tonkotsu ramen and it was not disappointing. The food was perfect with the balance of unami, saltiness and savouriness from the broth and chasu. Staff was friendly and attentive to help us. 10/10 ❤️
The food was delicious, the staff was friendly and quick. The University at Buffalo's South Campus is right across the street, making this establishment's atmosphere distinct from other area restaurants offering Japanese cuisine.
Super calm and super chill. The food brings you back to life I swear. Me and my partner love this place with our whole heart. The ramen is just so good
Very cool! As an anime lover, I have always wanted to try Sao Ramen. I am lactose intolerant and do not eat eggs, so, I tried the vegan and vegetarian ramen bowl, spring rolls with vegan sauce, vegan coconut rice pudding and iced matcha latte with soy milk. Not to mention, bring your paper, and doodle an anime drawing to put up on the wall. I drew Monkey D. Luffy⛵
Located on Main Street in Buffalo, Sato Ramen offers a delightful dining experience for ramen enthusiasts and food aficionados alike. The ramen at Sato Ramen is undeniably satisfying. Each bowl boasts rich, flavorful broth that's a testament to the care and expertise put into its preparation. Whether you prefer a traditional tonkotsu or a lighter miso broth, Sato Ramen delivers on taste and authenticity. The noodles are cooked to perfection, striking a delicate balance between chewy and tender. One standout dish at Sato Ramen is the crispy chicken, which can only be described as phenomenal. The chicken is expertly fried to achieve a crispy exterior while maintaining juicy tenderness inside. The combination of spices and seasoning elevates the dish to a level of culinary excellence that keeps patrons coming back for more. Beyond the exceptional food, Sato Ramen offers a unique ambiance that adds to the overall dining experience. The concept of allowing patrons to draw and contribute to the wall decor is both creative and engaging. It fosters a sense of community and adds a personal touch to the restaurant, making each visit a memorable one. In conclusion, Sato Ramen on Main Street in Buffalo is a must-visit for anyone craving authentic ramen and delicious Japanese-inspired dishes. With flavorful ramen, phenomenal crispy chicken, and an inviting atmosphere, Sato Ramen stands out as a gem in Buffalo's culinary scene.
Great Ramen experience. We had the spicy miso Ramen, Buffalo Ramen and Sato Ramen. All were excellent. The broth was very flavored and tasty. They have an amazing system of ordering were you have to tick the dishes you want on a sheet of menu which I feel is better than the traditional way. The Buffalo Ramen broth was excellent because personally I like Buffalo sauce a lot but the chicken was nicely flavored and the broth had a zeist of Buffalo sauce to it which made it excellent. Also, the servers are very polite and the service was very fast. I would recommend to check out their waiting time.
Great Japanese ramen experience. The broth and chashu pork were the strong points of the ramen. We tried the Spicy Miso Ramen, Pork Gyoza, Buffalo Chicken Ramen, and the Iced Matcha Latte. The spicy miso adds a nice flavor kick to a thick, rich pork and chicken broth. My only complaint is the noodles, or メン(men), which aren't any better than a pack of dried noodles from the grocery store. The pork gyoza were simply amazing. Served with green onions and Sato's soy sauce mix, they were better than any gyoza I've had in the US, and better than some places I've been to in Tokyo. I have mixed feelings about the Buffalo Chicken Ramen. It's faithful to the Buffalo chicken wing flavor, but seems to lose all of the flavors of Japanese ramen in the process. That's not to say it isn't good - it is very good - just don't expect the wrong idea. Last, but not least, the Iced Matcha Latte was fantastic. It was a delicious smack of cinnamon and macha flavors that reminded me of the Matcha KitKats sold in Japan. ごちそうさまでした!
If you are a fine lover of some of the best Ramen around with a great atmosphere? Then this is the place of you. Don't think about it just get their, open the door, sit down and enjoy! You will not be Disappointed. The food is all on point! If I could I would have the Buffalo Chicken Ramen for breakfast lunch and dinner and some more in between those times as well, yeah the foods that good.
This was so good! It was a great space, the staff from.service to chefs we're friendly, the atmosphere was great (which honestly I could overlook for really good food but in this case I didn't need to) and the ramen was so delicious! My friend and I each had a bowl of ramen and an amazingly delicious french fry appetizer with all kinds of yummy Japanese toppings. The half off ramen lunch special was amazing too!
This place has tons of potential. Food is very good. Service is good. Biggest complaint would be the lack of seating and the metal stools to sit on. Not a big problem for your average person, but if you have mobility issues or bring little kids, it's not ideal.
The atmosphere could use some improvement but the food is honestly great! I had the Spicy Miso Ramen and the hubby had the Tonkatsu Ramen, both were delicious! We shared the Tonkastu with rice and Coconut Honey Rice pudding for dessert. I’m glad we split the dessert as it’s very heavy and filling. Everything was yummy! Would definitely come back.
The broth of the featured Sato ramen was lacking in depth of flavor and can almost be described as watery. This, however, was counterbalanced by how good their tonkotsu broth was. I was initially apprehensive of their description of it as "infused with soy," but the soy flavor enhanced the pork flavor without being too salty. It had a wonderful tongue-coating mouth feel, although it could have been a little more flavorful overall. The noodles did more than hold their own, complementing the broth with a nice substantial heft in the mouth. The noodle to broth ratio was better than average. The two side dishes were decent, although the fried chicken was drier than what one would expect from chicken thigh, and the gyoza was rather bland.
Recently found out about this place and decided to give it a go. All I can say is wow! Ordering your food is super simple..just check the boxes on the menu and hand it to the cashier, and that's it, you're all set! The food comes out hot, and the Ramen bowls have a flavor explosion, every bite was heaven. The homemade broth and noodles are spot on. Give Sato Ramen a try now!
Compete lack of customer service, had to Keep getting up to request silverware, and a couple other things that were never brought to us. Nobody checks on you, you just sit there trying to get their attention while they play and joke around with each other over the food they're cooking. Food was pretty good except for the rubbery fish tasting crap loaded into my ramen (I ordered what I ordered because it didn't have seafood in it, but somehow still ended up there). Spent $70 for 2 people but feel like it should've been a $40 meal
Good…but could definitely be better. I tried this place out last night with a couple of friends and to say it was worth it would be mixed. While I personally thought it was pretty good, the cold toppings made the ramen just not taste right, and the pricing is not the best. I mean $15.99 for a bowl of ramen is alright, but $7.99 for takoyaki is lowkey insane for me. Definitely planning on coming back regardless, but yk. In addition, their wall of artwork is quite cool too!
Food was fresh and fantastic we came around lunch time on a Sunday and it was relatively busy however the food and drinks came out timely and was very good and beyond my expectations. The only complaint really is that the eating area is very small and can only accommodate so many people other than that the experience was awesome and I'd highly recommend and will be returning myself I got the Tori Paitem Ramen and my girlfriend had the tonkostu Ramen both were amazing and would highly recommend!
The menu is complicated it's a bit pricey and they didn't have a diet beverage option in the soda department. You have to walk up to the register to pay and the space is very small. The fried pork chop was good but I did not like the flavor of the broth. It was pretty packed and the staff wasn't very welcoming. I did enjoy the drawings of anime that they hang on the walls that is customer submitted. They have bottled beverages as far as soda goes and the to go container didn't seal well and ended up spilling all over the back seat. That being said my son really digs the place he is ten and wanted to take me there for a while. So maybe I am just picky. I didn't think it was seventy dollars good which is what I paid. I got two ramen bowls a fried pork chop two sodas and a rice pudding. The rice pudding was so yicky. I didn't think end up finishing it because it was purple. Somehow it came into question if there was squid ink in it and it killed my vibe. Try it once don't just take my word for it but be ready to pay good money.
The first thing I noticed when entering the restaurant was the limited seating available. You had to share a table with others. It doesn't bother me but it wouldn't be for someone looking to eat at a table with just their family. I thought it was kinda cool eating with people I didn't know. The service wasn't great. The restaurant didn't seem very clean either. We got their special fries and ramen. I think the fries are one of their highlight dishes. They were good. The ramen was not authentic. The noodle were comparable to the ramen you can buy from the store. The broth was salty but still delicious.
The cook was more helpful than our waitress, luckily we were able to ask him questions. I liked my dish which basically was fried chicken and rice, but it was pretty good. My friend didn't like his ramen as much, thought it was too salty. I had the ginger icecream, I'm going to be bias on this, I love all things ginger, so I'm not a good judge on this one.
Didn't like the ginger in the soup, but that was a mistake of mine having mixed it in, then I had to pick it all out. Not much seating, food isn't bad but it doesn't have the most parking available. I wasn't aware it was an order at the counter type of restaurant before we went. Get your own water and utensils.
So today was my 1st time coming to Sato Ramen. Tbh i had higher expectations.... So anyway I had a black cherry soda, Curry Ramen with pork and some pan fried gyōza dumplings and some spring rolls. The soda was cool. When I opened it what looked like smoke ish gas was coming out in a swirl 👀 😲 The Curry Ramen... was very disappointing 😢 the taste reminded me of chicken noodle soup and I even had like steamed potatoes, corn, and carrot in it along with some green onion etc. It was not spicy so I was sad 😭 the flavor was not there. I had to add Sriracha sauce that was on the table for it to be spicy but it still doesn't make up for the Curry flavor. 👎 also the pork was dry and it didn't absorb the broth . The boiled egg though was good ✌ The gyōza dumplings were very good but pricey. Excellent flavor already before even using the soy sauce. Nice and lightweight. The spring rolls were okay. The sauce though was the bomb 💣 💋 and paired well to give it a nice kick in ur mouth mwah! The drawings and art are so cute btw This place is small, and dimly lit. There aren't many tables. It was worth trying but I don't think I'll come back unless I have the spicy miso Ramen which my service worker had and she said it actually was spicy 😾
This place would have two stars in any other actual city. The tonkotsu ramen was super bland. Not even adding the chili bomb brought any flavor. They also pack on a pound of ginger on each dish. The takoyaki was just okay.
I went here because I heard good things from coworkers and read good things on reddit about this place. Going in I had a very good vibe and liked the look and atmosphere. However, the gentleman at the front put me off, he was not friendly and pretty rude. I ignored it and just left with my order. Upon getting home I was missing an item in my order. I tried calling to just get a refund for that item and was not able to get a hold of anyone. So, I had to drive all the way back to get my item. I let them know and there was no "sorry" or anything just an "oh" and then they made it. They did make it pretty quick which I appreciated but I was watching them do it and they just threw it around. Absolutely none of the employees looked happy there and none of them were friendly, all very rude. So, fast forward to getting home my food was cold by now so I just reheated the broth which wasn't a big deal. The food looked delicious but.....I was severely disappointed. We got the Sato Ramen and the Tonkatsu ramen. Both of them were lacking flavor, there was no strong umami or savory flavor. The eggs were not even proper ramen eggs, they were just soft boiled eggs. The only thing I can say that was good, which is the only reason it gets 2/5 stars is the pork. It was pretty tasty. Besides that everything was lacking in flavor. To top it all off, I do NOT think the price of this place is worth it. You don't get quality or even a good amount of food for the price. Don't waste your money or time. 2/5 stars. Will never be going back.
I've been here two times and each time I was disappointed. Took forever for a kids meal of simple noodles and broth (no toppings); other customers who arrived later than me got their food first, and the fried chicken and egg rice bowl i got was way too salty and the fried chicken was dry. it's like they dumped half a bottle of soy sauce in the egg mixture and then gave four tablespoons of rice. Also took a while for my daughter to get her apple juice, while the other tables got their complicated mixed drinks (who also came after us) before us. Two stars only because the waitress was nice. Would not come here again.
I really did not want to leave a negative review but after giving this spot another chance I have to say the ramen is mediocre at best. The broth is salty with no depth of flavour, very bland and the toppings were lacking the noodles were not fresh you can tell that they’re from a box lol. The miso caramel doughnuts were just ok. Hoping they develop a better broth recipe in the near future!
I hate leaving a negative review, especially about this place as I come here all the time and I think it's great. I just had the worst bowl of my life. I dont know if it was the black garlic or the broth but the whole bowl tasted like it got passed through a charcoal filter. I didnt even come close to finishing which is a rarity for me. The pork still tasted ok but the rest was pretty inedible unless you like burnt stuff. I've gotten the Spicy bowl more times than I can count; this was crazy. The dude at the counter also seemed way more interested in his phone than asking me if everything was ok. I paid and tipped and left. I hope this doesn't become a trend it would break my heart!
Went with my wife as she was in the mood for some Ramen. She being a vegetarian ordered a Ramen and was not really impressed. I also wanted to get a chicken Don but couldn’t get it as they were out. I did get the Spicy Pork Don which was quite spicy even though I requested medium spice but I did enjoy it. Might give another location another try but not 100% sure. Also for seating it’s very casual and definitely not for large groups or personal conversation dates. Good place to just hangout or grab-an-go.
The worst ramen I've had in my life. Broth is salty and cold, noodles are overcooked, toppings are small and flavorless. I had higher expectations based on the reviews and I almost never leave bad reviews but this experience pushed me beyond my limits. Save yourself $17 and make instant ramen at home.
Seems overrated. Staff cursing whole time. Ramen noodle tasted cheap. The takoyaki was yummy tho. The chicken was also really dry. Not sure why this is most rated ramen shop in Buffalo. The egg was just a normal boiled egg not even marinated
I had buffalo chicken Ramen. 1. The broth was cold by the time I had 2 spoons and the flavor was NOT it! 2. The chicken was dry as hell. 3. I don’t really know why this place has so many 5 stars like did you guys eat ramen anywhere else? Very disappointing!!
Broth was very bland. Flavors were not authentic. Very disappointing. Got their fried crispy chicken (can’t recall what it’s called on the menu), and received it burned - tasted bitter, even so the flavor was also bland. Also not authentic. If you like Americanized version of Japanese cuisine then this is the place for you.
Ordered delivery so we could stay home to watch the game. Food was delivered without broth. How do you serve ramen without broth? Called and given the, you can come get it. Finally offered to refund only the ramen. Terrible
