Went here with a few friends for some food and fellowship, we got 2 pizzas. 1 pepperoni and 1 with spinach and they were absolutely delicious 😋 loved every minute!

I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, the taste was very good. The portion size was very satisfactory. This was my first experience.

Pizza really good. Chicken Cesar Salad is HUMONGOUS! Parking is a challenge being on Hertel and with other restaurants competing for parking. Though I have no complaints on service, the only thing I found disappointing were seeing the waitresses sitting at the table in the hallway on their phones. Obviously that is more of managements discretion but not a good look.

Always great pizza and wings. Unfortunately, I'm not in the area any longer, but any time I'm back in Buffalo, we head to Bob and John's on Hertel for the best pizza in Buffalo. They usually have a great dinner price for pizza and wings during the week. Parking can be difficult at times in the area, so plan to leave time to find side-street parking.

I love this place. When we were young and lived in the area, it was our go to place on Fridays. Now that we are out in Williamsville, I brought my adult children there and they love it. Servers are always understaffed but are so nice. We try to get there at least once a month. Love it ❤️❤️

I've been coming to this place for thirty years or more. I am not living in Buffalo anymore, but I stop here every time I come into town. I just love the entire area, and this place in particular is perfect for a relaxing meal and a couple of beers on the patio. I highly recommend.

Anytime I need my steak sub fix, I get one here. Pizza is great too! Today I ordered an assorted sub and Fried ravioli for delivery. Food came as promised time frame. However, I got the wrong sub. It was a BLT sub. I called back because I already opened it. The manager was super cool . Told me to keep it and they'll send my sub out asap. I ate the BLT sub and it was awesome! Never thought to order it before, but I will next time! Plus, they had my original order here in like 15 min! Great customer service and amazing food! Customer for life!!

First time going here, and as a Buffalo native I can’t believe I’ve never tried it before! My fiancé wanted to check out their $1 wing night, so we did and wow, so glad we did. We ordered 10 medium and 10 honey BBQ, and both flavors were on point. Personally, I would’ve loved them a little saucier, but the meat was tender, juicy, and absolutely delicious 🤤. This spot is definitely getting added to our date night rotation! Love that they have great options for takeout, plus both indoor and outdoor seating.

Came in yesterday (Sunday) with a group of 6 adults and 7 young children. Waitress welcomed us and quickly set up a large table in dining room. Food was dynamite, kids had fun, service was A+++. We've been there many times over the last 10 years. Mostly for the lunch buffet but also for family dinners. Delicious hot & fresh pizza can't be beat. The wings were meaty and cooked just right. The only downside is the difficulty in finding a parking spot, But the food makes it worth the effort.

I haven't been here in years. The renovations are extreme. The new patio and modern updates are very nice! The menu is huge including some Mexican food options. I ordered a chicken wing wrap, the chicken fingers had honey mustard on them. It came with chips. $12 per person to eat lunch while drinking water. Waitress was attentive and nice. I was interested to see the $5.00 all you can eat spaghetti. That's quite the deal. Thanks for the visit!

The quality of the food combined with the cost is mind blowing. Daily specials and specials daily, you can't find anything too expensive and the fact it's all delicious breaks my head. Cheap, delicious. You can dine in and the waitresses are both competent and friendly, take out, have it delivered or sit at the bar next door and they just bring you food! No better place in Buffalo for a family or a date or just to grab a bite at lunch. 10/10, highly recommend!

BBQ chicken wings were cooked to perfection, and the blue cheese it came with was chunky and full of flavor. The pepperoni pizza had just the right amount of cheese and sauce, with a delicious crust. Our order was ready only a couple minutes after I was told to pick it up. The warm cookies they sell are also fantastic. Parking is limited near this restaurant so expect a short walk to the door. Employees are very pleasant.

Stopped in for lunch. Had the buffet... Not bad. Selection of pizza, salad bar, taco soup. Pretty good for the price.

Service is great. Basic menu but most items are well executed and tasty. Great fish fry, wraps, and sandwiches. The chicken finger sub is also a good choice. The place is clean and comfortable. Dining area is decently appointed and has numerous flat-screen TV's surrounding it. Food is priced fairly and would recommend this place for casual dining while in North buffalo. Would suggest more interesting daily specials.

Now this is one of my favorite places to eat. I have been here to dine in and take out. They have a buffet here consisting of pizza, soup and salad for 7.99. Pasta is the love of my life. The lasagna here is some of the best you will ever taste. The chicken wings are big and juicy. Bob and John's is a great place to take the family. They even have a room you can reserve for parties or events. They are a beautiful bunch of people who are passionate about the food they serve. What more could you ask for?

Have eaten here many times as the pizza is usually very good. Although the last time it was undercooked which was disappointing. Service was good, pizza was ready on time. We ate out and not in this time. We will be going back as we don't think it's a normal occurrence but we'll update if necessary.

Great place to meet and catch up with friends. Excellent wait staff tends to your needs and doesn’t rush or pester you. Pizza is very good. I liked the onion soup very much. It was a standard side to an entrée which surprised me. Prices are very reasonable.

Good, basic Italian food in HUGE portions for very low prices. Service is a bit of a crapshoot; I've had some very warm, friendly service as well as a few waitresses who seemed entirely disinterested. Once waited outside for twenty minutes before having to walk inside to request a drink refill; had to do the same thing later on for our check. I do keep going back though, so I guess it must not be too bad...

Usually it's a 4 or 5. My fault really. Pizza buffet was over and they were generous enough to allow me to get it anyway even though they were just about to throw everything out so the pizza was very stale. I tried taking a couple bites of each kind and it wasn't good ( just to take a second to say, this is arguably the best pizza in the city normally), but everything had sat a while Salad was delicious, all ingredients were very fresh. Garlic Bread with Cheese was ok but was also a bit stale. I usually stick with Vegetarian foods so I didn't try the Buffalo Wing Pizza. They had three kinds. One Veggie, One Cheese and Pepp, and a Buffalo Wing. Atmosphere is great. They have Keno and a Lotto Ticket Machine. Love this restaurant! People who work there are charming and polite! There's a guy in the kitchen who makes the best Open Faced Cheese and Veggie sub ever (bun and cheese baked only).

Make sure you have plenty of time. The pizza is slow to come. It's also often overcooked. Salad bar is good but the soup was terrible. I went three times... I'll probably not go back for lunch.

For ladies night, the three of us decided on Bob and John’s (Robert and Jonathan’s for the sophisticated crowd) and they never disappoint. I ubered as parking can be difficult depending on the time of day. We were pleasantly surprised with the extensive renovations since we’ve last visited. There’s now a beer and wine bar, patio space and it looks spiffy! Because it was beautiful outside, we sat in the patio area. Our server was so nice and knowledgeable about the menu and was excited to serve us. I decided to try something different and got the Sampler Platter that included chicken tenders, steak fries, mozzarella sticks and pizza logs. For my appetizer I had a slice of pizza with cup and char pepperoni. The sampler was quite tasty but there is a noticeable difference between pizza from an entire pie vs a slice of that makes since. Overall, this was a great experience and we’ll definitely be back. Some key takeaways…$5.00 all you can eat spaghetti on Mondays and $30(?) for a large pizza and 20 wings on Thursdays-dine in only I think.

Their pizza is really good 90% of the time. Every once in a while you get a dud that's under cooked. The wings are way better in person. They're never crispy when I get them delivered. Their subs are above average.

Went for the pizza lunch buffet which is $9.99 and includes a salad bar with all the fixings. It was alright. Not sure of its the same pies you get for regular orders, but they had pepperoni, veggie, and I think a supreme pizza, along with cheesy bread when I went. Didn't ask if you could request any particular topping on the buffet if thats possible. The hours are from 11am-2pm for buffet.

They need to work on better customer service. Along with the effort in their food at times. I ordered pizza and wings but the pizza barely had flavor because of the lack of tomato sauce. Place is clean too.

A bit sloppy. I ordered a slice and chicken finger wrap on a Sunday night after hearing good things. The slice was solid but had half the cheese sliding off when I opened the box. The chicken finger wrap was on the edge of being gross. The blue cheese was oozing out. It was more of a blue cheese wrap than a chicken finger. Definitely would not get it again and would have sent it back if I was dining in.

I have been going there for decades and I've always considered their pizza one of the best in WNY. If this was my first time I'd never be back. The crust was different and the ingredients added were not the normal amounts. At $2.50 for each additional ingredient they could afford to do better. This truly was not their best effort and for the prices being charged for everything they should do better. We also had wings which were good but expensive. Wing prices have dropped but menu prices haven't. (Typical) 3 people, 2 small cheese pizza special with 2/3 extra ingredients, 2 pitchers of Blue Light ($14 each), 2 pints of Octoberfest and 20 wings...$127 before tip. Very disappointing. We'll be back again for pizza and try again. If it's the same, we will sadly not be back after being a decades long customer. It's more expensive than it should be most anywhere today but the effort to make that cost easier to swallow needs to be better.

Took advantage of the pizza & wing special. It was my 1st time having their pizza. Unfortunately it was a bit of a let down. The pizza wasn't that great, reminded me of bowling ally pizza, and it was hardly warm as if it was sitting for a bit. The cheese wasn't cooked. It just tasted uncooked as if it was rushed or if I received a pizza that was sitting for some time. :( The wings weren't bad, just extra tiny. While I won't order their pizza again, I do enjoy their pizza subs. So maybe I will just stick to those.

Been making it a tradition the last few years by coming here with my family. Our last visit was very disappointing. The server was rude and the food was sub par. The spinach on our pizza has gone from fresh to frozen along with low quality in other areas.

Ordered chicken fingers and a antipasto salad. Most of the lettuce was white? I guess they ran out of the green kind. The chicken fingers were cooked well, but were small, and over sauced. Wanted to try something local. Based in good reviews I expected better then this. Also, menu on google is not accurate. You need to visit there website for menu and pricing.

My boyfriend and I were passing through Buffalo NY and wanted to try some well recommended pizza. We did some internet searches and picked this location based on positive reviews. The dining area was clean, and adheared to proper covid standards. However the reason for the 2 star review was the food itself. We saw they had a daily special of a small cheese pizza and an order of 10 wings for about 20$. We decided to get that and added pepperoni and banana peppers, and picked garlic parm as the wing sauce. The total came to about 27$ and we tipped 5$ then went and sat down in the empty dining room. Once seated we saw from a table flyer that they had a special on Thursday's specifically that is the same thing for the same price but with a double order of wings instead of just a single order. We were a little miffed that when we ordered the girl who took the order didn't offer the upgraded special, but decided to just go with it since we didn't really need that much food anyway. The food arrived and the situation unfortunately worsened. The wings were basically tasteless, with little to no seasoning. The best description of the taste would probably be oil. It didn't even really taste like chicken. The pizza was generously topped but also pretty bland, and far too greasy. Now we know grease on pizza isn't necessarily a bad thing, but there wasn't any good flavor to make up for the grease dripping down my hand as I ate. All in all, pretty disappointing for spending $30. Once we left we both looked at each other and agreed that the Ma and Pop shop in our home town was far superior. Sad day.

We got the Personal pan pizza, it was ok, could have been cooked a little longer and the haddock fried fish dinner. The fries were good, the fish was overcooked and its not very meaty.

I wanted so badly to like it. A woman next to us was very rude and refused to pay for wings that were mostly drums, which was just wild to behold. So i was hoping to have a good time and enjoy my time. The food was not good. It wasn't bad but it didn't taste like anything. The restaurant had only one waitress at 8pm in a Saturday and she was overwhelmed. The vibe just felt sad. It can't seem to decide what kind of place it wants to be. It's an hacienda but it's serving pizza and spaghetti but it's also a sports bar but it's also a family diner? This place needs help.

DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!! Worst pizza I ever had, sauce was horrible, dough was undercooked. Three bites and i threw the pizza out, I could not eat it. Wings were unbearably dry. Delivery driver did not read order only bringing one soda instead of two as ordered. The "large" salad I ordered that according to the menu serves 3 to 4 people was so small I ate the entire thing myself which the salad is the reason I gave two stars as it was the only thing that was delivered I finished.

HORRIBLE!!! i guess u just keep saying today was a off day . certain pizzas are ok when fresh but the buffet makes me very upset. they put the same pizzas out and heat lamps don’t heat if you go you have to go exactly at 11 or your food will be horrible and the make you eat old pizza i get don’t waste food but it’s ridiculous when they won’t put fresh pizza out . Well not happy. First I call and Leann didn't even say the name of the place. So when I said is this Bob and John's she said yah with an attitude. I ordered 2 chicken quesadillas and they were the worst I ever had any where. One of my 4 pieces didn't have anything.but a little cheese. The whole thing only had 5 pepper rings on it. Usually I can only eat 2 pieces, I ate all four and am still hungry. Usually I would call and complain but I was so hungry I ate it. Check your food before you leave. The quality of food and service there has gone way down. Its a shame I use to live this place.

First time here, very disappointed. Small cheese and half green olives and sausage ( could u spare the sausage). Pizza is bland. Certainly didn't look anything like the PIZZA REVIEW GUYS. Thin piece of cardboard. Biggest disappointment is the wings. Ordered CISPY AND HOT. Not crispy and looked like shook in butter. I was told they were cooked for 15 minutes. Shook again. Only 9 wings and something foreign that shouldn't have been cooked. Do better for $40. Have pictures but can't post for some reason

I don't order from Bob & John's very often, but when I do, it's an awful experience. Last two times I ordered the pizza was very burnt and very irregularly shaped in all dimensions. Last few times my grandmother ordered pizza, it was very burnt in the bottom and they failed to deliver the garlic bread the last time. Really really gone downhill for whatever reason. No one I know will order from Bob & Johns again. I ordered a pizza for my grandmother last night from Little Caesars which isnt known for being "premium" but it's funny because they've really stepped their game up and are better than what Hertel has to offer in both quality, craftsmanship and price. She was very delighted to have received a beautiful pie after the string of unacceptable sales committed by Bob & John's La Hacienda. Hertel's pizzerias have all seemed to go downhill in the past couple years. I find it distasteful to "advertise" a competitor on a review but felt it necessary to draw the comparison as two how these two companies define "pizza."

I ordered a pizza well done it was barely done if that. They asked me to return it when it was delivered and manager was arguementative saying it was well done and refused to replace or refund anything . The guy was not friendly and provided terrible customer service

My Fish was over Cooked..& my Pizza Slices with Onion were Burned on the bottom..but the Antipasto Salad was Good and the Service was Awesome. First time ordering. We receive a burnt pizza, our wings were soggy, we received two tiny containers of bleu cheese. And we asked for contactless delivery and the delivery guy rang our doorbell and stood at the door with our food. Very bad experience all the way around. So we won't be ordering again.

Ordered chicken fingers, a toasted sub and side of fries. Was told my order would be ready in 15-20mins. Once I arrived 17mins later was told it would be ready in 5 mins. Ended up waiting an additional 15mins, freezing mind you. Just to get home and have my fingers SOGGY as could be, fries were cold and SOGGY and the cheese on my sub wasn’t even melted when I asked for it to be toasted. Won’t be ordering anything except maybe...maybe pizza. 👎🏼

We ordered 2 Reuben sandwiches. They said it came with chips and a pickle. So I also ordered a side of fries. What did I get? 2 Reuben sandwiches. One cooked pretty well. The other? SO soggy to the point the bread completely fell apart and was just mosh. OH and no chips or pickles either. The fries? Nope. Didn’t get those. We got chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks instead. Needless to say, I am VERY unhappy with this experience.

Ordered min turkey sub and French onion soup. Sub had 1 slice of turkey. Wow! Cheap,cheap,cheap!! Just talked to manager and was told 2 slices of meat are on mini sub and 4 slices of meat on whole! Like I said CHEAP! I did tell the truth!!! There was one slice on mini sub not 2!!! And I only quoted what manager told me on phone.

got our pizza and wings like always, got home and went to eat the pizza. like leather, almost like chewing on a tire or rubber ball. wing were ok. called to tell them the pizza wasn't so good and wanted another one. sat on hold for 20 mins then hung up on. after 2 bites threw the pizza out. the next day mu wife tried again, called asked to speak to a manager, sat on hold for 30 mins, then some guy who said his name was Tony and he was the manager asked what the problem was. my wife told him about the pizza was like shoe leather and would like the pizza replaced, he replied " not gonna happen and hung up", after 30-40 years of going there it's time to look around, way to many other pizza places to keep giving them my money for way over priced pizza and wings. I have supported this restaurant for years, but will not be going back. Placed an order yesterday evening and my food was entirely not what I requested. Pizza had very little cheese and was dry and not fresh. But the real disappointment were the 3 subs I received. My subs were made completely wrong and not how I ordered them and to top it off were soggy and poorly made. When I called and spoke to the manager Andrew I was not only told that it was my fault that I did not request what I ordered, but was also told that he would not remake my food and did not even offer an apology for the error instead shifted the blame to me. When I then went to the store to return my order I was greeted with the same sarcastic remark and he then refused to refund my money for the poorly made incorrect order. If this is how customers are treated by this business no thank you.

I try not to be a big complainer but, got a pizza from Bob & John’s on Hertel Thursday night - was the worst pizza I ever got from there. I think they probably (accidentally) used gluten-free crust as it was very dry and hard with not much taste. It was also seriously lacking in the sauce and cheese department (but when that occasionally happens I usually just overlook it). Though it’s not always consistent, I normally am quite satisfied with their pizza - and everyone knows that once in a while, places will have an off night. I am a very regular customer there - my family probably orders 3 times per week (sometimes more 🤷🏼‍♀️). Well, it was bad enough that I called the next day (have record of time in my phone still) to tell them that there was a problem with my pizza the night before. The person I spoke with said he could either have the owner call me back (he was busy), or he could just put a note on my account (phone number) that I had a credit. So as not to belabor the point, and in an effort toward expediency, I chose the “credit”. I called today to order a pizza, told them I should have a credit, they seemed unable to “find” it and said no one there right now seemed familiar with the situation so all they could do was offer me a $5 credit toward my order. What? Well, I hope that extra $15 they were unwilling to credit me was worth the probably $60 (or more) dollars a week I’ve been dumping there for years. While I’m sure they’ll do just fine without my business, a bad pizza was disappointing but the terrible customer service was even more disappointing. I won’t be back.

The delivery used to be spectacular so was the pick up but the only thing that might be worth it is the buffet havent gone to it in a while. We ordered here all of the time for years we got catering for our sons birthdays, spent alot of money here and quality slowly went down on subs and fries sometimes pizza until eventually it was consistent problems with the food got to a point where we didn't order from there for 6 months. We then decided to try it again and the food was great except that they forgot my salad, said they would bring it then forgot again and the closing manager had to bring it bc i called to ask about it after they were closed, so thought ok just a bad spurt then I order the next week with a hopeful mind and food was disgusting. The person who answered said the restaurant was dead when I called to order so I expected it to be perfect, food got here in like 15 min and I bring delivery time up because last time I ordered and the food it took about hlf hr 45 min and it was good it was an eggplant sub so I know the sauce didn't cause it to be mush. Anyway i opened the food and the bread on my eggplant sub was mush....like legitimate mush, they put onions on a tuna sub I twice asked them not to put onions on (its for my son) and the fries were soggy and cold. I called to talk to the manager because yes I was irritated and hungry and he said he wld apply a credit and he did. I called and ordered tonight. Told the young lady I didnt know how much it was for she said 15 i said ok idk how much its for and she put a manager on, im still not sure y, but I was pleasant not nasty or anything, I work in customer service so I always try to be nice. The manager had some what of a condescending attitude, acting like I was just trying to get free stuff when the food I ordered Wednesday was disgusting....We won't be ordering from here again, my in laws were long time customers stopped a while ago and refuse to try again, now i can confirm they made the rite choice to stay away. Idk it just doesn't seem rite to behave that way toward long time customers..or any customer for that matter 😕 If u want really good pizzaria food go to mattinas on Delaware ive never had an issue with there food and its reasonably priced.

I have been out of buffalo for 20 years. I always loved Bob and John's pizza. Was always outstanding. I ordered a pizza on a Friday night in 12/ 2021. Regular pepperoni and cheese. Had delivery due to parking and weather. 26.00! For pizza and delivery. Mom and I had 2 pieces and it was horrible. Had to throw the rest out. The sauce was very sparce, and just a splash of mozzarella cheese.,It was worse than a chain pizzeria. Lost a long time customer 😸

I ran in to order 2 slices on Thursday and it was so good. I called Saturday and ordered a sheet pizza and chicken fingers. First thing was they only gave me 10 chicken fingers when it was supposed to be 12. Then I got home and my pizza was burnt! It was dry, hardly any sauce or cheese and cooked until it couldn't be cooked any more. I'm so disappointed since I've gone there for years and love taking my kids to dine in. What a shame!

I’ve had this pizza before and it is just not the same. Girl at the register was rude and could see the workers in the back eating off the counter. The pizza and wings were not good at all. Sub par food.

Parking is horrible for a handicap person... The damn meters are located across the street. You have to cross busy hertel Ave to pay a meter. One handicap spot and someone was parked there with no meter ticket and no handicap sticker or handicap plate. A guy came out and started blah blah blah me, instead of assisting me with my problem as a stood there with my cane. Unprofessional worker/ owner I went somewhere else... Terrible 😔 guessing it was the rude ignorant owner that came out, seeing his cocky remark! Yes it's a review for Bob and John's... I don't consider your business a restaurant. Smarking remarks on your reviews don't do you no good!

You changed your pizza and it’s not for the best. It looks and tastes like it was frozen.

We ordered food for our daughter’s birthday party that never arrived. When we called Bob and John’s 20 minutes after the scheduled delivery time, not only were they rude, but they didn’t apologize or accept responsibility for their mistake. They were then upset we didn’t still want the order that would arrive over 45 minutes past when we had ordered it for and her party would have been over. Luckily I had brought other snacks! We live in the neighborhood and this has been our go-to pizza spot for years but we won’t be returning in the future.

This has been my go-to pizza place for the last 20 years, but sadly the quality of the food has declined significantly over the past year or so. The food is regularly under cooked, soggy wings, raw pizza, hard chewy pieces in the meatballs. The staff does not seem to care about what they serve to people. They sent me a pizza with raw pork on it, and gave me a hard time about giving me a refund stating that "sometimes sausage is pink." If I was the owner I would seriously reevaluate entire staff from the manager, to the cook, right down to the person answering phones.

We have been trying to support local restaurants twice a week, so we ordered from one we usually get decent food. Unfortunately, our experience was not the normal we are used to with Bob and John’s on Hertel. First, they were jamming with business and they had lots of help working. Good on them. Second, our food was terribly undercooked. Our wings were soggy (we ordered extra crispy) and under sauced, our fries were soggy, VERY greasy, and some were not cooked in middle. The meat on the Steak and cheese sub was fatty/chewy and very soggy. Our college aged son said they were the worst wings he’s ever had and commented that there was 5 clubs, 15 flats in a double order. It’s a shame we won’t be back with so much good wing competition in Buffalo. If returns were possible on take out orders, this would be one.
